Chapter 2: The Games Begin
The preliminary round had just finished with it being the Sky labyrinth. There were a total of 113 teams participating and there could only be 8 teams to advance to the actual GMG themselves. Right now Naruto was waiting for all eight teams to be introduced and then his introduction would take place. After that, the first event would be happening and Naruto was really excited to see how these games would play out.
"Looks like it's time. I wonder who all made it." He mused to himself though he was hoping that Fairy Tail would make it past the preliminaries. He did wonder who would all be participating in the other guilds though, since there were a lot of strong mages out there.
"Ladies and gentleman! I would like to welcome you to this year's Grand Magic Games! We had a total of 113 teams participating and so we had our preliminary round known as the "Sky Labyrinth". We now have eight teams left that qualified for the main events, so without further or do. Let's start welcoming them!" The pumpkin said, getting cheers from the crowd.
Naruto wanted to go check on Wendy, to make sure she was alright, but he needed to be, which was when he had forgotten he could send a shadow clone.
"Shadow Clone Jutsu." He whispered as a clone appeared next to him.
"I need you to go check on Wendy to make sure she and Carla are alright. Carla will be superstitious about you, so if you need to, tell her who I am. They'll both hopefully be happy to see me again." He told the clone who disappeared in a leaf shunshin. "Now I can focus on the events." He said when the announcer spoke again.
Starting with the eighth-ranked team! Will they be able to recapture their past glory?! The group that clashes with their rowdiness! Fairy Tail!
As they walked out of the tunnel for their introduction, they were met with many boos and shouts from the crowd
"Yeesh they are really getting into the booing." muttered Gray
"Uuuuuu." hmmed Lucy. Erza clasped her hand on Lucy's shoulder.
"Keep your cool, Lucy." Lucy smiled gratefully. Erza then pointed to a certain section of the stands. Lucy and everyone else turned to see all the other members of Fairy Tail cheering for them. They could see a banner that said, 'FAIRY TAIL VICTORY!'
"HOORAY! HOORAY! FAIRY TAIL!" the members of the stand cheered.
"All we need is the cheering of our friends." everyone on the team nodded, until they noticed something, or rather someone
"Hey guys look at that…" Natsu said.
"N-No way.." Lucy said.
"Is that….." Gray said.
"Could it really be…" Erza said.
"It is…" Elfman confirmed.
By this point everyone on the stands turned to see what the team was looking at. To their surprise, sitting on the edge swinging her legs back and forth was Mavis Vermillion!
"HOORAY! HOORAY! FAIRY TAIL!" she cheered happily.
"MASTER MAVIS?!" everyone shouted. She turn to them with a big smile on her face.
"I came to cheer everyone on. It gets boring being in the guild by yourself." she said.
"But what about…" Makarov began.
"Don't worry! Only people with the guild mark can see me. Plus do you have any idea how boring it is not having anyone to talk to and be stuck on an island?"
Needless to say that ended any argument of her being there. The team was also sharing their own thoughts on the manner.
"It kinda reassuring to have the first master watching us." Natsu said.
"Even as a spirit." Gray said with a sweatdrop.
"Now welcome onto the stage, in seventh place in the preliminaries are the hounds of hell's army, Quatro Cerberus!"
"WILD!" The guild shouted.
"Coming up in 6th place is a female guild. Dancers of the Ocean… MERMAID HEEL!" Some of the members waved and blew kisses while the leader looked serious and ready to begin.
"They're a new guild from what I've heard. With only one S-class mage, I was surprised they made it through the preliminary." Lucy informed them.
"Goes to show how impressive that guild is and that they won't be easy to beat." Erza said.
"Coming up in 5th place is the Wings that Sparkle in the Dark, BLUE PEGASUS!"
"KYA! EVE-KUN!
"HIBIKI-SAMA!
"REN~~~!"
Were a few of the many shouts they got from the women in the stands in response to their handsome men pose.
"I really hope those three don't do well. They're annoying." Naruto said as he shook his head at those three. "If they were in my world, they wouldn't have lasted a minute there." He said.
"In 4th place, Goddess of Love and War, Sacred Destroyers!... LAMIA SCALE!" The five people came out with Lyon leading the group.
"4th place!? You guys could've done better! They're guild master shouted at the group.
"In third place… wow, for a first time guild to do this well, let's welcome the Midnight Raiders… Raven Tail."
"Raven Tail?!" Natsu yelled out in shock.
"This is… the guild founded by Master's son, Ivan." Erza explained to them who nodded.
"I'm surprised that you're not saying anything about it or even surprised that he's here. I feel a malicious force coming from them." Mavis said.
"Someone filled me in ahead to know as a warning to be wary of my foolish son and his guild." Makarov told the first master.
She looked at him in curiosity. "Who is this person third?" She asked him.
"You'll know who he is. He'll be getting introduced after the first place guild has been done. He's a big deal and a friend to the guild." He explained with everyone looking at him in confusion wondering who he was referring to.
"I see. I look forward to seeing him." Mavis chirped.
"And in second place… Oh my! This is unexpected! Can the broken wings of the fairies be mended once again and allow them to take the skies once again? Let's welcome….. Fairy Tail B Team!
"What… was the only thing that Fairy Tail's A Team could say as they were taken completely off guard by the announcement. "WHAAAT?! They all exclaimed in total shock.
"Well now, this just got more interesting." Naruto said, smirking at the teams.
"NEE-CHAN?!"
"GAJEEL!"
"JUVIA!"
"lAXUS! WHAT WITH THAT HAIRCUT!"
"Another team from Fairy Tail?" People started whispering amongst themselves at this development.
"WHY IS MYSTOGAN HERE!?"
"Are you saying… you are Jellal" He put a finger to his lips in a "shh' gesture.
"Alright! For the last team that made first place in the preliminary round.. The strongest! The invincible! The complete dominator's! SABERTOOTH! The team walked out led by Sting, who was one of the Twin Dragon Slayers.
"Looking forward to you, Natsu-san." Sting waved his finger at the pink haired Fire Dragon Slayer who looked annoyed at that.
"So that's Sabertooth huh? Impressive, but Natsu and Gajeel can handle those two. It's the woman in the twin buns that has me worried. I've heard about her magic and it's impressive." Naruto said, who was now waiting for his introduction.
"And now for our proctor who will be monitoring the events along with our Chapati. He came around last year out of nowhere, but has been working for the king and princess. He has risen to be one of the strongest said to be on par with the Four Gods of Ishgar, but there's no one faster than him. All anyone ever sees is a white flash and has completed all of his missions without fail. His name is the White Flash!" The announcer said as everyone gasped and held their breath, having heard about him.
Everyone had been wondering where he was when everyone saw a kunai in the middle and everyone saw a white flash as Naruto appeared in the middle of everyone. Right after his appearance the crowd blew up in cheers with the different members eyeing him with curiosity, excitement, and were wary of him.
"So this is the White Flash? My, he looks handsome. It's too bad I can only see his hair and eyes. If he's as strong as I hear, then he'd be the perfect husband for me." Minerva said surprising her teammates since she never showed interest in anyone.
"On par with those monsters?! That's insane!" Natsu exclaimed his jaw on the ground.
"Hmm interesting. I'd like to see what he's capable of." Lyon said acting tough even though he was sweating.
"That wouldn't be a good idea, Lyon." Jura advised getting the attention of who could hear him.
"Why do you say that Jura-sama?" Sherria asked.
"We fought once." He said getting surprised looks and others waiting for him to finish. "And he defeated me with ease." He finished with everyone looking at the redhead with shock who was smirking behind his mask.
"Who the hell is this guy?!" Gray asked in shock.
" Now, there's no need to be acting like this. I'm only here to make sure the games run smoothly and that no one is breaking any of the rules or causes problems." Naruto gave a serious look at everyone. "Good luck everyone!"
"So that's your friend I take it Makarov?" Mavis asked who simply nodded, but saw a curious look on her. "He has the Fairy Tail guild mark on his shoulder. I can sense it on him." She said, surprising everyone except for Makarov who already knew.
"He's a member of the guild?! None of us have seen him before though!" Macao exclaimed. "Did you know about this Master?" He asked the old man who grinned at him and the others.
"Indeed I did know." Was all he said.
"Wait, I noticed that they only said his moniker, but not his name. Why is that?" Lisanna asked.
"It's because only a small handful of people know his name. I can't say it since I promised I wouldn't, but he said he will sometime during the GMG." Makarov responded as everyone nodded, but became even more curious about the man.
"I wonder who he is?" Lisanna asked, tapping her chin in thought.
"Now that all the teams are out, we can now explain the games for everyone!"
"For the next five days, there will be five days that make up the games. The games consist of one match, followed by several battles between the teams."
"The contest will be a secret until the day of the games and each member must pick one member to participate in the event. For the battles the member fighting and who they'll be fighting will be random."
"The rules are simple, the team with the most points at the end of the final day will be crowned the number one guild in Fiore! Now let the games begin for the contest of the first day. The contest is called Hidden. May the teams please choose a member to compete."
Naruto watched as each team picked their member to go and he wasn't surprised to see Gray go first after his friend Lyon decided to go. It seemed that rivalry is still there despite it being 7 years since they last saw each other. Mermaid Heel went with Beth was her name I believe, Raven Tail sent out Narupudding, Blue Pegasus decided to go with Eve , Fairy Tail B sent out Juvia which brought a smile to his face to see his friend again who looked just as beautiful as before. Sabertooth had Rufus for the last one in the event.
With clone Naruto same time as original
The clone had managed to find the room that Wendy and Carla were in wanting to see how they were doing. He knocked and heard a come in, so he opened the door to see his surrogate little sister looking a little better.
"Who are you? I don't think I've seen you before." Carla bluntly stated, making him chuckle at her something she found annoying. "Did I say something funny?" She asked irritatingly.
"Nothing. May I have a seat?" He asked politely.
Carla looked at him for a moment before she slowly nodded as he nodded to her and sat down.
"I wanted to come by and check to see how you were doing. I was the one who brought you two here and I'm glad I was able to stop them from draining your magic completely." He said smiling under his mask.
"That was you?"" Wendy asked shyly, but grateful.
"Again who are you mister?" Carla asked again.
"I'm known by two names with one being the White Flash." Naruto said when Wendy gasped having heard that name before.
"You're him?! That's so cool! You hear that Carla?! We're meeting the White Flash himself!" Wendy squealed in joy, making him chuckle again with Carla nodding somewhat impressed.
"Yes. We've heard of you, but why'd you help us? Surely you've never met us before until now, so why?" Carla asked.
"For one it was the right thing to do and secondly why wouldn't I want to help my friends after all this time?" He asked them getting questioning looks.
"What do you mean?" Wendy asked.
Naruto grabbed his mask and slowly pulled it down until his whole face could be seen, getting a gasp from them especially Wendy as she saw the whisker marks on his cheeks.
"Who else, but me has these Wendy-chan?" He mused seeing her jump onto him in a hug.
"Naruto-nii-san!" She exclaimed in glee seeing her older brother figure.
"It's good to see you again Wendy-Imouto and you as well Carla. Do I get a hug from you too?" He teased when she mock glared at him and walked up to him and did the same.
Wendy pulled back and went back to her bed with so many questions for him now that he was actually here.
"When did you get back? Why is your hair red now? Why didn't you come to Fairy Tail?" Wendy asked quickly, making him chuckle.
"I've been back for a year now and the reason my hair is red now is because of an incident back in my old home that caused my Uzumaki genes to come out which became the dominant trait for me. All Uzumaki's have red hair, so when it became my dominant trait, my hair color changed. I didn't come to Fairy Tail because when I came back I heard you were all gone." He told them.
"That's so cool. You look better with red hair anyway nii-chan, but that doesn't explain why you didn't go to the guild?" She questioned confusedly.
"When I heard how you guys were all gone at what happened on Tenrou Island, it was too painful to think about and would've brought back memories that were too painful to think about at the time. It made it difficult to go there when all of my friends and family weren't there. It took me months to get back on my feet emotionally, but I had help from Princess Hisui that helped me get through it and when I saw everyone again, I was really happy to see that you all survived." He told them.
"That's good news -wait you know Princess Hisui?!" Carla shouted in disbelief.
"Of course I know her. I've been working for her for months now and not only that, we've become pretty good friends." He said nonchalantly with them gaping at him.
"H-How?" Wendy couldn't help, but ask.
"She was there for me plain and simple. It was not easy for me at first and she helped me get over your "deaths", but I'm glad that you all are alive." He said as a tear came down his cheek.
"Now that you're back Naruto-san, will you be joining us at Fairy Tail again?" Carla asked with a little hope.
"Yes I do, but not right now." He said.
"Why not?" Wendy whined cutely.
"It's because I want to surprise everyone at the end of the games. That and I'm acting as a proctor of sorts and to keep the guilds from doing anything stupid in the games. I don't want you telling the others that I'm the White Flash." He ruffled her hair thinking about Sabertooth and Raven Tail who would eventually try something, especially Raven Tail.
"I. I understand nii-san." She pouted at him.
"Good. I'm just glad you're both okay and safe. I need to let the boss know that you're both okay. I'll see you both soon. Ja ne." He disappeared in a puff of smoke leaving happy girls.
With Naruto
The game "Hidden" had just finished and Fairy Tail A gained zero points and Fairy Tail B gained 1 point putting them in the last two places making him sigh. He could see the look on Gray's and Juvia's faces and he hated seeing his friends look so defeated and it didn't help that people had begun to taunt them with words. It was getting out of hand, so he decided to put an end to it.
"SHUT THE HELL UP! LEAVE THEM ALONE! iF YOU'RE GOING TO MOCK THEM FOR THEIR EFFORTS, THAN LET'S SEE YOU ALL GO AGAINST THEM! IF YOU HAVE THE ENERGY TO BE PUTTING DOWN OTHERS THAN I'D LIKE TO SEE YOU GIVE IT A GO AGAINST ANY OF THEM!" Naruto exclaimed releasing much of his KI to prove a point to the audience or more specifically to the ones who can't keep their mouths shut. Many of the audience had passed out from it with some staying awake, but had shit themselves.
Fairy Tail was surprised to have him stand up for them except for Makarov who smiled at his child proud of him defending his guild. Again they were all wondering who he was, but smiled remembering he was a member of Fairy Tail..
"Now though, let's move onto the next match if you could please Chapati." Naruto said as he nodded at the pumpkin man.
"Now let us move on to the Battle portion of the day! The first match shall be….."
"Raven Tail Flare Corona against….."
"Fairy Tail A's Lucy Heartfilia!"
"Me?!" Lucy shouted.
"Blondie." Flare muttered with bloodlust.
"Great. I have a bad feeling about her." Lucy muttered to herself seeing the crazy look in her eyes as she went down to the arena.
"Let's do this blondie." She smiled creepily at her.
Naruto was watching the redheaded girl and had a bad feeling about her. He would need to watch her and make sure she didn't try anything. He made a sealless shadow clone and saw a little girl who looked to be 6-7 years old standing between who looked like Alzack and Bisca. He smiled at the two, but had the clone go hide near the girl without anyone knowing as he had a feeling something would happen involving her.
The match started and he noticed how the redhead who was known as Flare would use her hair and cast spells with it. That was an interesting magic he thought he'd never see in his life. He just hoped that Lucy would be alright, but had faith she could win.
Naruto had been amazed at how much Lucy had progressed with her celestial spirits. She had managed to bring out two of them at the same time, surprising him since she couldn't do that before. Not only that, but she had been able to keep the damage done to her from Flare to a minimum. He was watching the two stare at each other when all of a sudden Flare drilled her hair into the ground making him narrow his eyes at her wondering what she's up too.
'She wouldn't try the same thing again after just trying it since it didn't do much damage, but if that's not her plan then what is it?' He asked himself.
It was at that moment, he saw her pointing to the side, following her finger pointing towards Fairy Tail, but that wasn't it. It was at the little girl as he could see her hair appearing behind her without anyone knowing it.
"Better handle her hair issue now than." He whispered to himself when he swapped places with his clone and found it was hiding as rock, so he changed back into his form without anyone noticing.
Naruto saw the hair hovering above her, so he quickly activated his Rinnegan and switched places with her appearing between the two parents making them jump to the side when he grabbed her hair and tugged on it causing the girl to flinch in pain as her eyes widened seeing Naruto glaring at her with his strange purple eyes making her shudder at the glare he was giving her, but winced again when he pulled on it again.
"Na-White Flash what are you doing here?" Makarov almost slipped on almost saying his name.
He ignored him as he flashed down to the arena while holding her hair still.
"Chapati." He called out, getting the referee's attention. "Call the match. I just caught Flare-san here attempting to hold a member of Fairy Tail as a hostage to gain an advantage." Naruto glaring at Raven Tail with his Rinnegan still activated.
"Oh oh. It seems Raven Tail has been caught cheating! With that being said, I hereby disqualify Flare from the match making Lucy Heartifilia of Fairy Tail Team A the winner!" He announced, getting cheers from the crowd.
Lucy smiled gratefully at him despite his eye color change, she was happy that he was able to protect her family from something bad happening. He nodded to her as she walked back to her guildmates, but looked back at Naruto curiously.
"RAVEN TAIL! THIS IS YOUR ONLY WARNING! IF I CATCH YOU TRYING TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS AGAIN, YOU AND YOUR GUILD WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE GAMES! AM I UNDERSTOOD?!" He bellowed at the guild who were shaking from the pressure of his KI that was being aimed at them. Seeing them nod ,he released the pressure and deactivated his Rinnegan back to his normal blue eyes as he nodded back to Chapati to continue with the next match and then flashed away.
"Damn you White Flash! You will not get in my way again next time from getting what I want and seeing that miserable guild suffer." Ivan vowed as his guild members were sweating and looking at their master like he was crazy.
With Blue Pegasus
"He's certainly sharp enough to catch something like that. No one else saw what she was doing, but him. Did you see his eyes though? They looked different than before?" Eve asked with everyone nodding.
"He has excellent parfum! Men!~" Ichiya said dramatically.
Mermaid Heel
"Wow. It's incredible to be able to see something like that." Beth commented in awe.
"Very true. I wonder how he was able to see it so quickly and stop her?" Another member asked.
"He's strong, but his eyes. It seems he can use a form of eye magic. Given how they looked, it must increase his eyesight.:Kagura wondered in curiosity.
"He's really cute too, makes you wonder what he looks like under his mask, don't you think so Kagura-chan?" Milliana asked her friend.
Kagura didn't respond, but kept staring at Naruto's spot.
Lamia Scale
"Damn he's incredible! You think maybe we can convince him to join our guild when the GMG is over?" A member asked.
"That's an understatement, but does anyone know why his eyes changed?" Lyon asked, remembering how his eyes changed from blue to purple.
"He never showed them during our battle, so I've never seen them before." Jura said, smiling at what he did for his friends in Fairy Tail.
"He showed a lot of love to protect them!" Sherry said dramatically.
"I agree Sherry-chan." Sherria agreed with a big smile.
"We'd better get back to see what the next match will be." Jura said with everyone agreeing.
Sabertooth
"That was something to see wasn't it?" Sting asked with a smirk seeing Raven Tail get humiliated.
"I agree, Sting-kun." Lector agreed.
"To scare the entire guild like that makes him someone to look out for, but I'm sure everyone is wondering, how was he able to catch Raven Tail's act before she could do anything that she had planned?" Rogue asked.
"It's possible that he has something that helps him see things that others won't right away or all." Rufus added his own two cents in. "Was it his eyes? Everyone saw how his eyes looked different, so that could've had something to do with it." He said.
Minerva didn't say anything except lick her lips at the power she felt from him and the authority he showed everyone that he meant business made him all the more desirable to her.
Fairy Tail Team A
"Wow. I WANT TO FIGHT HIM!" Was all Natsu said exceedingly
"Are you insane flame brain!? He'd kick your ass without having to try." Gray yelled at the dragon slayer.
"Shut up Ice prick! I doubt you'd do any better!" Natsu retorted annoyingly.
"It was amazing how he interfered so quickly and stopped her plan from happening. How do you think he did it?" Lucy asked approaching her team.
"I'm not sure, but his eyes looked strange. You guys saw it too, right?" Elfman asked.
"I think everyone saw his eyes and no one will forget those glowing purple eyes of his. For some reason they looked familiar though." Erza said frustratingly, getting her teammates attention.
"What do you mean?" Gray asked.
"What I mean is I remember hearing about them from someone, but I can't remember where." Erza said.
"Let's not worry about that for now. We have the next match to watch." Gray said.
"The White Flash did a manly thing and only a man would do what he did for our guild!" Elfman exclaimed.
Fairy Tail Team B
"Something is going on with this guy. He seemed to catch on very quickly to what she had planned. How though?" Gajeel asked.
"That was nice of him to help Lucy. He was also quite intimidating don't you think?" Mira asked with a tilt of her head.
"Juvia is glad that the White Flash helped Lucy-san out." Juvia said.
Laxus didn't say anything, but was deep in thought. Something about the man seemed familiar, but he wasn't sure why. He'd need to think about this more and see if his grandfather could help him.
"I will admit though, he seems familiar. I've seen his eyes somewhere before, but I'm not sure where yet." Mira said, getting their attention.
"Juvia thinks you're right. Juvia thought she was the only one who thought this, but maybe it's someone we used to know?" She asked, leaving the question in the air.
"For now, we'll just watch and talk to jiji about it and see what he says if he knows who he is." Laxus said as they turned back towards the arena.
"Now then let's get on with the last fight of the day! Jura Neekis of Lamia Scale vs….."
"Mystogan of Fairy Tail B!"
"Well this should be a great match. Jura Neekis, he's a wizard saint in the fifth seat being the strongest human after the Four Gods of Ishgar. He uses earth magic. If I remember right, he helped us out against Oracion Seis back then. Now Mystogan, that can't be him, he should be Edolas still. If that's not him, then the only person that could be is…." He activated his eyes to get a better look at him and he could see the red tattoo on his face and blue hair. "Jellal. What are you doing? Why are you helping Fairy Tail?" He asked. "I'll need to see if Ultear is here, since she was the one who broke him out after all, so I need to ask what they're goals are." He nodded at what he should do now.
This got the attention of everyone in Fairy Tail. Mystogan was going out. That would mean this would be a battle between two mages that were recognized as Wizard Saints. Makarov hoped Mystogan could pull off a win, since this battle would not be simple or easy.
The two mages walked into the arena until they reached the center of the arena. The two mages give each other impassive looks.
"I must admit in my heart I would like Fairy Tail to win, however, as a mage, I represent my guild and must give you my all. Are you prepared to lose, Mystogan?" Jura said as he released a potent amount of his magical energy. Mystogan retaliated by releasing his own magical energy.
'To fight on Fairy Tail's behalf...nothing can make me happier.'
"I intend to win." Mystogan said.
"Let the last battle of the day BEGIN!"
Mystogan quickly unbuckles the belt on his shoulder before dashing forward. As he went straight to Jura, the staffs' on his back began to float around him in an arc. Jura merely smirked as he lifted two fingers up as a magic seal appeared below Mystogan. The masked mage had little time to react as he jumped to the side as several pillars of rock rose up. Jura then moved his hand as more pillars rose up and all of them were aimed for Mystogan. Using quick maneuvers, he managed to dodge all of the incoming pillars.
With a flick of his wrist, Mystogan's staffs' all landed in a circle around Jura. Mystogan brought his hands together to form a hand sign. "Five Layered Magic Circle: Sacred Song!" as Mystogan shouted those words, five magic seals appeared above Jura before he was bombarded with a powerful magical beam from the seals.
"Oh he learned Mystogan's magic, huh?" Laxus said, impressed at Jellal's resourcefulness.
"That's pretty skillful." Mirajane commented.
"Well at least he's taking the blending in to a whole new level." Gildarts said in a joking manner.
"Jura-san!" Sherria screamed in concern for her fellow guild mage.
"Relax Sherria. Jura will not fall that easily. Afterall in my humble opinion he's Fiore's strongest human mage." Lyon commented.
As if to prove his point, a giant rock fist came out of the dust with Jura appearing from the dust without as much as a scratch.
"Three Layered Magic: Mirror Water!" Mystogan shouted as a magic seal appeared in front of him as the stone fist collided with it, and causing it to be sent right back to Jura!
"He sent it back?!" Gray screamed in shock.
"Awesome!" Natsu hollered.
However, Jura merely smirked before waving his fingers again and sent the attack right back to Mystogan!
"He curved it around again?!" Happy shouted.
"What's going to happen?!" Natsu screamed.
This time the attack did hit Mystogan and sent him flying!
"SO STRONG! AS EXPECTED OF A MAGE CARRYING THE TITLE OF WIZARD SAINT!" Chapati shouted at the top of his lungs.
"That's right, Jura! Hurry up and deliver the finishing blow! Send him spinning!" screamed Ooba.
"She's spinning me! Someone save me!" shouted the poor random mage that she was spinning with everyone just pitying him before going back to the match.
'As expected using someone else's magic won't cut it with an opponent like him. Even if the magic is from another version of me. I need to use my magic if I intend to win this for Fairy Tail!' shouted Mystogan in his head.
Mystogan's eyes began to have a golden shine. This got everyone's attention.
"Meteor!" Mystogan shouted as he was enveloped in a golden aura before he blitzed towards Jura like a bullet.
Jura raises his hands again, "Iron Rock Wall!" he shouts as a rock wall appears in front of him, but Mystogan just dashes around it and lands a solid hit on Jura.
"HA!" Jura shouts as the Iron Wall breaks apart into several brick squares. He then maneuvers the rocks to attack the flying mage. Mystogan manages to avoid some of the flying debris, but some landed there marks and caused Mystogan to start falling back to the arena. However, instead of looking distress, Mystogan looked rather calm.
"I made it in time." he muttered, but Jura noticed something was off and he looked up to see a constellation pattern above him!
"A magic array in the sky?!"
"When did he have time to do this?!"
"Did he do it while dodging the attacks?!"
Mystogan landed gracefully on the arena and looked at Jura.
"Be judged by the seven stars! Grand Chariot!"
The seven seals glowing before firing concentrated beams of energy from Jura. However, Jura was not deterred and simply clasped his hands together and shouted, "Rock Mountain!" as a giant armored titan of stone rose from the sand and took the attack as the arena was filled with dust and debri.
Everyone was in awe at the battle that was taking place before them. It was like a battle between two wizard saints! Little did they know that was exactly what they were witnessing.
'I see. I now know your true identity. It seems that you were not completely frank with me, Makarov.' Jura thought in amusement.
'I can't lose here. I must win for Fairy Tail! I'm sorry Ultear, but I'm going to use that.' Jellal thought to himself.
What no one knew was there were two people watching the match. The first person had
"Wha…?! Jellal!" The two shouted in shock.
The first person was a curvaceous young lady with hot pink eyes and wavy back-length pink hair. Her outfit consisted of a red dress with a golden trim around a deep neckline that exposes a large amount of her ample cleavage with a short skirt and a belt with a yellow ribbon tied around her waist and black coloured stockings and brown boots.
The other person was a pale-skinned woman with dark purple hair and brown eyes, spotting a rather voluptuous figure consisting of little more than a tabard-like garment that most likely exposed her back. The attire was open on both sides of her body except for a small attachment at her waist, exposing a fair amount of her large breasts. She also donned long black boots that leave her upper thighs bare, a white cloth around her head.
"No! If you use that, your cover will be blown!" The pink haired girl said with worry.
"True Heavenly Body Magic… Cerma!" Jellal shouted.
A giant purple circle hovered above the stadium with the sky beginning to darken from the spell that was about to be casted.
"What the hell is he thinking?!" The black haired woman shouted in shock/anger. "This is what's wrong with men! Their pride gets the better of them!" She said in exasperation.
"What should we do, Ul?!" The pinked hair woman asked her.
Said woman named Ul looked at her with an evil glint in her eye making her feel nervous. As Jellal was about to cast his spell, he suddenly stopped when he felt pain and hot in his mouth, he started writhing in pain when a pink magic spell appeared on his wrist that no one noticed.
Back to the two women, Ul was stuffing red peppers into her friend's mouth while the pink haired woman was writhing in pain as well while telling her "it's really spicy", while the same magic spell was on her wrist that was on Jellal's. This continued on until she passed out from the pain with Jellal following suit soon after.
Everyone was left stumped on what had happened having no idea what was going on. Jura was confused beyond anything, but got even more confused when he passed out suddenly.
"Sorry about that… but we can't have Jellal standing out too much." The ravenette said smiling nervously while the other woman passed out behind her with red hot chili peppers next to her.
"I think I know what happened to him. Must be the girl's doing that was with Ultear. I wonder how they've been doing. I feel bad for Jellal." Naruto said to himself.
"It's over, people! The winner of the last match of the day is Jura Neekis of Lamia Scale!" Chapati announced.
Jellal soon got up and walked back to his team, slumping his shoulders as he walked past his teammates.
"Good try." Mira said with a nervous smile.
"What the hell happened out there?!" Gajeel shouted.
"Lame." Laxus said to him.
"I don't even have a response for what happened." Jellal said to himself as he walked away from them to meet up with his two comrades.
What he didn't know was that he had a shadow clone following him, wanting to meet him and his accomplices. He recognized that magic anywhere from the person who used it against him in the past..
While Naruto had his clone following him, the original was watching the rest of the events as they displayed the points for every guild. Sabertooth had 20 pts, Lamia Scale had 16 pts, blue Pegasus had 14 points, Fairy Tail A had 10 pts, Raven Tail had 8 pts, Mermaid Heel had 3 pts, Quatro Kerberos had 2 pts, and Fairy Tail B had 1 pt.
"Come on B team, you can do it. Hopefully tomorrow's events will be better for them." He said to himself.
Fairy Tail A
"We may not be first, but fourth place isn't bad for the first day. I can only hope that our other team does better tomorrow." Erza said.
"That's true. We have the White Flash to thank for our victory in my match. We should thank him for helping us." Lucy suggested.
"Yosh! That way I can fight him! If he's that strong and if I beat him, then I'll be the top guy!" Natsu shouted in excitement.
"That's a man right there! I'd like to meet him too. Maybe we can have him join us tonight?" Elfman asked as they nodded in agreement.
"That's a good idea. I do wonder though," He started getting his teammates' attention. "We've only heard of his title, but not his real name. Why didn't they announce his name in his introduction?" Gray asked.
"That is odd, maybe he doesn't want anyone to know his name?" Lucy asked.
"But why though, you think maybe the Master might know? He did talk to him for a little, bit and even gave him the strange kunai's." Erza said.
"Let's go! I'm fired up now!" Natsu bellowed, running off as they finished the GMG for the day.
"I see him. It looks like he's waiting for everyone to leave. He sure takes his job seriously." Lucy commented.
"That's good he takes it seriously. Let's go talk to him and see if he wants to join our guild tonight." Erza said as they headed towards him.
They walked to see Naruto standing in the arena alone, not paying attention since everyone, but them had gone.
"White Flash." :Lucy called out, getting his attention. "I'd like to thank you for what you did for me during my match. I can't imagine what would've happened if you hadn't been there." She told him.
"It was my pleasure. I couldn't let her get away with it, but I'm glad I was able to help. That is my job though, to make sure nothing like that happens." Naruto said seeing his friends up close after a few years.
"How'd you know though that she would try something?" Gray asked curiously.
"I was able to see where she was looking. As soon as her hair slammed into the ground again, I had a hunch she would be trying something to help her win the match, so when saw where she was looking, I made the connection and teleported there to stop her." Naruto explained.
"Well we appreciate what you did and for what you did, we'd like to invite you to spend some time with Fairy Tail tonight." Lucy invited him with a smile.
"Hm. I might be able too. I don't have any plans for tonight, so I should be able to be there." Naruto said, accepting their offer.
"I have a question." Natsu said as Naruto raised his eyebrow at his friend.
"Yes?" He asked.
"What's your real name?" Natsu asked. "No one knows your name and I'd like to know what it is." He pointed at him.
"He's right. When they gave your introduction, it was your title, but never said your name. Why is that?" Erza asked.
"Well I can't say. I have some old friends here that don't exactly know I'm back yet. I want to surprise them with it. It's been a few years since I last saw them." He explained getting nods from them.
"What friends are they, maybe we know them?" Gray asked.
"I can't say, I want to keep it a surprise, I don't want it accidentally getting out with someone slipping that information out and ruin the surprise." Naruto said as everyone looked except for Naruto looked at Natsu.
"What? I'm not that bad am I?" Natsu whined who all blankly stared at him making his shoulders slump in defeat.
"You can count on me being there tonight. Where should I meet everyone?" Naruto asked.
"We'll be at the same lodge you brought Wendy in at the Honeybone inn." Lucy said with Naruto nodding as they departed with Naruto watching them leave before sighing.
:Man, it was hard not to jump on them with a bone crushing hug. It'll be well worth it when they find out though." Naruto smiled at the group leaving in a lightning shunshin.
With the clone
Naruto's clone had been following Jellal for half an hour now and wondering where he was headed when he turned a corner to avoid the public view, making him really curious. He went to the rooftops quietly when he saw Jellal walk to what looked to be two women waiting for him. They looked familiar to him when his eyes widened and a smile formed behind his mask remembering them. They were Ultear Milkovich and Meredy Milkovich, her adopted daughter. He created a clone and dispelled it to give the original the memories of what the clone knew and switched places with the original now being there in its place. He decided to make himself known to the trio.
"Well well well, look what I found here. Ultear Milkovich, her daughter Meredy, and lastly Mystogan or should I say Jellal?" He mused when he saw them tense and get in their stances.
"You're the White Flash!" Ultear commented in shock seeing the redhead.
"Indeed I am, but you don't need to worry about me trying anything. I simply am here to actually see you three. I had a feeling Jella wasn't alone given what happened during his match with Jura, isn't that right, Meredy?" He smiled coyly.
"How do you know who I am?" Meredy asked curiously.
"Why, you once used your magic on me years ago." He said cryptically, making them more curious about who he is.
"Can you just tell us what you want White Flash, instead of making jokes?" Ultear asked, annoyed.
"Fine, fine. I have met all of you actually. Not only that, but.." He raised his shirt to reveal the Fairy Tail symbol on his shoulder surprising the trio.
"YOU'RE A MEMBER OF FAIRY TAIL?!" They shouted at once, making him chuckle.
:I am. Now you may not remember me since it was seven years ago when we met last, so…" He said as he pulled down his mask to reveal his whisker marks.
"I admit you look familiar with the whisker marks, but that person had blonde hair and you're clearly a redhead." Ultear said.
"I used to be a blonde, but that's a story for another time." Naruto said.
It took a minute for what he said to register in Ultear's mind before realized what he said. "IT'S REALLY YOU UZUMAKI?!" Ultear shouted incredulously with Meredy's eyes widening at the man she knew.
"Yep. It's good to see you again, especially you Meredy-chan. That was mean with what you did to Jellal, but I thought it was kind of funny." He smirked seeing her blush a little whether from anger or embarrassment he didn't know.
"How do you know him Meredy?" Ultear asked since she didn't know that the pinkette knew him.
"I was out on a job for Hades at the time, and apparently Naruto-kun was as well, but we were both in a forest when we came across each other. I saw his Fairy Tail guild mark and thought he was an enemy, so we fought and managed to get him with my magic, until we knocked each other out. After we woke up, we called a truce since neither of us wanted to fight the other apparently, so until we could get our strength back, we talked. Well he did at first, but I slowly opened up to him and found him quite nice. After that, I never saw him again." Meredy explained.
"Ahh I see.
"And for your information Naruto-kun, that was painful to do and I didn't even want to do it! It was all Ul's fault with what happened, not mine!... but it's good to see you again, Naruto-kun." She whispered the last part seeing him smile at her, finding it amazing.
"You're the one who'd always tell the council off and shut them up. I will admit, that was hilarious. It's good to see you again too, Naruto-san." Ultear chuckled at the memory.
"Yep. Those were good times. Is there a reason you're here or did you just want to catch up on old times?" Jellal asked.
"Actually there is, I wanted to know what you guys are doing here. I know it's not for the GMG and Jellal helping Fairy Tail is just a bonus. I know it's nothing bad, since I'm not feeling any negative emotions coming from any of you, so what's going on?" Naruto asked.
This surprised them not expecting that and especially hearing that he can apparently sense someone's negative emotions.
Jellal decided to explain what was going on and what they've been doing since he was rescued from prison with how they've been killing off demons and monsters that have been making themselves known the last few years and taking care of dark guilds.
"So, that explains the decrease of dark guilds that have been going on aside from the ones that I got rid of. I'm glad you three have been doing this. I always knew you three weren't really bad people." He said as he glanced at Meredy with her doing the same, something that Ultear noticed making her smirk inwardly.
"And to explain what we're doing here now, we've been detecting a large amount of magic power coming from here every year which isn't strange considering it's the GMG, but it's going somewhere that we don't know. We've also been sensing dark magic that's similar to Zeref's." Jellal explained getting him to stiff at the name.
"So, you believe there's someone here hiding in the shadows than?" Naruto asked going serious.
"Yes." He told the redhead.
"I want to help." He suddenly said.
"Not that we're complaining, but why?" Meredy couldn't help, but ask.
"Well, if it's something involving the black wizard then I want to prevent it from happening. Besides, I want to protect my guild, who I see as family. I thought I lost them once, and I'll be damned if it happens again." Naruto said.
"Your help would be appreciated, but don't you have to be at the games?" Meredy asked curiously.
"Oh I can be there and help you guys at the same time or did you forget the clones I can make?" Naruot asked seeing Ultear's eye twitch.
"Of course I remember, you'd use them to do nearly anything while you were relaxing." Ultear grumbled.
"How many can you make though Naruto-san?" Jellal asked.
"Oh I can make at least a thousand at the minimum." He said, shocking them again.
"WHAT?!" They shouted.
"That's not fair." Jellal grumbled mock glaring at the redhead.
"You used to make so many before, but now it's that much more, what have you been doing the last seven years?" Ultear asked.
"A thousand Naruto's?" She quietly asked herself not able to imagine that.
"That's something I can't tell right now anyway." He smirked seeing Ultear glaring at him.
"Well anyway, I need to get going, I was invited to join Fairy Tail tonight at their lodge." He said as he turned to leave. "Oh before I forget, don't mention my name to anyone please. I want to surprise everyone at Fairy Tail since only a few people know who I am." He said getting nods of understanding.
"We can do that. I take it they have no idea you're back then?" Jellal asked with him nodding at the question.
"Yep." He said, before looking at Meredy. "And Meredy, you've gotten so beautiful in seven years. I look forward to working with you." He grinned at her before disappearing in a leaf shunshin leaving a blushing Meredy who suddenly found the ground more interesting as she knew Ultear would tease her about it.
"So, it seems you've gotten Naruto-kun's attention. I also noticed you'd glance at him at times. Does my daughter find the now redhead quite appealing to her?" Ultear teased the pinkette who covered her face with her hands.
"Ul!" Meredy cried out in embarrassment.
"He is a good man after all, I'm sure he'd treat you well." Jellal added his own teasing thoughts.
"NOT YOU TOO JELLAL!" She cried glaring at the blue haired man who chuckled at him.
"No need to be so embarrassed Meredy. I'm glad you're showing an interest in someone. It'll be great to have his help. If he's as strong as he's made out to be than he'll be a major help along with having his clones helping in the searches." Ultear said getting nods from the two, but a small blush could be seen on Meredy's cheeks.
Later that Night
Fairy Tail had decided to hold a celebration for team A's performance and team B despite the losses they gained. Everyone was having a party drinking, brawling it out, talking to each other, cheering, laughing, etc. Mavis had stuck around to talk to Makarov about the games, when she remembered something.
"So Makarov, are you going to tell me about the White Flash? I saw that he was a member of the guild, but he wasn't with us or remember seeing him before." Mavis said.
"I did say I would after all, but it needs to be kept secret for the time being. He's an old friend of most of the members, but he's been gone for a few years." Makarov said quietly, but loud enough for only her to hear.
"Where's he been all this time and doesn't anyone recognize him if it's only been a few years?" She asked.
"He's been back in his home dimension. He's not from here. He came here accidentally using seals that transported him to the guild when he was 14 and was here for 2-3 years until he went back. The reason no one recognizes him is because of his hair color, he used to be blond, but from what he told me, his dormant genes on his mother's side came out changing his hair color to red. His name is Naruto Uzumaki." He told her who had a small giggle.
"Fish Cake?" She giggled. "That sounds amazing, he traveled dimensions. I'd like to meet him sometime." Mavis excitedly said.
"Ask and you shall receive." A familiar voice said, making her jump in surprise.
"My goodness! Don't do that again!" She called out in a whisper holding her hand to her chest.
"Sorry, but I couldn't help, but do that as I thought it would be payback for the Fish Cake comment. It also means maelstrom." He smirked seeing her pout at him.
"Not very nice Fishy-chan." She hid a sly smirk seeing his eye twitch.
"You know, I never thought I'd ever meet a ghost. I mean I've seen a lot of things, but an astral body is different." He said, surprising her that he's not even a little shocked.
"I expected some form of reaction, but this isn't what I was expecting. It's nice to meet you though Naruto Uzumaki. I wanna hear about what your world was like, was magic the source of energy you used, do you use spells? Did guilds exist there?" She asked excitedly.
"That would take some time to explain my world, but no we don't use magic. I use something else called chakra which is the combination of spiritual and physical energies. My world didn't have anything like guilds. We had military villages that we used called Shinobi or ninjas that other people would say. If you want to hear more about it, we can talk more later, right now there are some people who I need to see as they were the ones who invited me." Naruto said seeing his friends how they haven't noticed him yet.
"Alright. Naruto. Enjoy yourself and be careful as they might try to take your mask off." Makarov said as Naruto waved at him, not worried.
"Hey guys." Naruto called out, waving at the several people who saw him walking in.
"Hey Flash, I'm glad you made it. I was beginning to think you weren't coming." Lucy clapped her hands together smiling at him, eye smiling at her.
"Like I wouldn't miss something like this and decline an offer with a guild such as Fairy Tail." He said getting some of the other members who snorted getting his attention.
"Right. Like you'd let something happen to a fellow guildmate." Macao said cheekily, getting a mock glare from him, remembering Makarov say to the non-competitive members hearing this from Makarov.
"YOU'RE A MEMBER OF FAIRY TAIL!?" The competitors shouted.
"Hmm I don't know, you tell me." He said, rolling his sleeve up to reveal his guild mark on his shoulder.
"He really is a member." Gajeel commented quietly.
"The famous White Flash is a member of Fairy Tail! Awesome!" Natsu shouted. "FIGHT ME!" igniting his fists and rushing him.
"STOP NATSU!" Several people shouted in exasperation.
Natsu approached him and smirked, when he decided to humor him, and disappeared and reappeared instantly behind him when he punched him in the back of the head crashing into the table.
"So fast." Mira said wide eyed.
"That was some speed and strength to send him crashing like that." Erza said impressed with the fellow redhead.
Natsu got up from the destroyed table before trying again with Naruto's hands in his pockets looking bored at the dragon slayer. He rushed him again trying when Naruto gained an idea and smirked with people noticing wondering what he's up too, when he did the same thing as Natsu except his hand had blue flames instead of orange punching him in the face.
"He's a dragon slayer too?!" Gray shouted in shock seeing the same thing that Natsu had done several times.
Naruto didn't answer, dodging a fist going for his head before he grabbed his fist, twisted it behind him and tripped his feet going down on his stomach with Naruto holding his arm still.
"You done Natsu?" He smirked.
"Not even close." He shouted, but his nose picked up something making him stop struggling.
"What is it Natsu?" Lucy asked, seeing her friend's eyes widen as Naruto let him go.
"He smells familiar. His scent smells familiar and I'm not talking about today, but from some other time." He said getting surprised looks from everyone.
"What are you talking about fire boy?" Gray asked.
"I'm saying that I've smelled his scent before. It wouldn't be possible if we met today for the first time, but that's not the case." Natsu told him, looking at the man in thought.
"So he must've met him before we disappeared, but that's impossible. I would've remembered him since there aren't many people who have red hair like me even if it's a shade different.
"That's true, but Natsu isn't usually wrong with this kind of thing." Mira said, looking at Naruto intently at his blue eyes.
"Now that I think about it, they never did say his name when they introduced him, only his title." Lisanna pointed out.
"So White Flash, what's your name?" Gajeel asked with narrowed eyes, getting everyone's attention as they all looked at him with the same question in mind..
"Now, now, no need to look so upset Gajeel the Iron Dragon Slayer. My name isn't so important. I'm just here to relax and meet with my fellow guildmates. Is that so wrong?" He asked with a coy smile seeing him scowl with others chuckling, but curious still.
"Are you sure, you can't tell us? It would certainly make things easier than calling you by your title. We are guildmates after all. Why wear the mask? Surely you could show us your face right?" Mira asked cutely, her lip quivering, making her look extremely hot.
"W-Well. Normally I wouldn't, but you have a point. We are guildmates, so I guess I could show my face. You will recognize me though immediately." He smirked.
He slowly put his hand up to his mask with everyone around him leaning in closer to see his face. He reached it and slowly and painfully pulled it down.
"Okay I'll show you. Underneath this mask...Is another mask! Pretty cool, right?" Naruto asked, as he showed them another mask and everyone face faulted, making him laugh.
"THAT'S BULLSHIT! WHAT'S UNDER THAT MASK" Natsu shouted getting a smirk from Naruto.
"Another mask." He simply said seeing his eye twitched as he started breathing fire out of his nose in frustration.
"Oh don't get so frustrated Natsu. That was rude though, but I must say, you have beautiful eyes." Lisanna said, looking at them as if she'd seen them somewhere before.
"Thank you. Lisanna-chan." He thanked her.
She smiled at him. 'His voice sounds familiar too., but why can't I remember what it is?' She thought.
"Hey buddy, why don't we share a drink together? You seem like you can handle your beer, so how about it?" Cana got into the conversation.
"Hmm. Maybe, it's been awhile since I've had beer, but there's one slight problem with that. I can't get drunk." He revealed shocked looks from everyone, especially her, Natsu, Mira, Gray, Erza, Lucy, Lisanna, Elfman, Levy, Gajeel, and Juvia since there was only one person who couldn't get drunk no matter how much he drank.
"How?! There was only one person who could pull that off, but his circumstances were… different." Mira said with a sad expression.
"Oh? Is that so and what was his name?" Naruto asked, playing dumb.
"Naruto. Naruto Uzumaki." Lucy said remembering her blond friend smiling at the memory.
He noticed the happy and sad looks around the room. Cana noticed this and spoke for everyone.
"He was someone special to us. He would go above and beyond for everyone he considered precious to him." She said with a longing smile on her face.
"Naruto-sama was someone who could make anyone feel special no matter who you were and make you smile." Juvia recounted.
"Sounds like an interesting guy. This Naruto person sounds important to everyone. Where's he at if he's not here?" He asked them.
"He's gone home. He had a problem that he had to handle with his home village and he needed to take care of it. It's been seven years since then, but he still hasn't come back yet." Mira said sadly.
"Hm. Well I hope he comes back, but I have a feeling that you'll see him sooner than you think.: He said cryptically with everyone looking at him strangely.
"What do you mean?" Mira asked who merely looked at her with an eye smile.
"Who knows, for now let's party! Bring it on Cana-chan!" He said to her who smirked at him challengingly.
They spent the next two hours partying, laughing, cheering, drinking, and having fights here and there. It brought back memories for Naruto when he was part of Fairy Tail before he was happy to catch up with everyone despite not knowing who he was. He wanted to tell them, god did he want too, but he wanted to see their reactions when he would tell them. Things were getting interesting for him in the GMG, he had to wonder about what he was told by Jellal, Meredy, and Ultear. What exactly was going on in the GMG and he would get to the bottom of this. Perhaps he could talk to Hisui about it to find out? He'd have to think about it.
And that's the end of chapter 2. I hope you all enjoyed it as things are getting interesting for the redhead. This has become one of my favorite stories to write and I can't wait to continue it. I've had some people making requests for who to add to his harem. Lisanna, Cana, Brandish, Dimaria, who were suggested and I was thinking of adding Minerva. I'll see you guys later! KillerSSGRed out!
