Chapter 44, Emerald hill battle.
West side island, Emerald hill.
Emerald hill didn't look much better than Green hill did, the water was purple and think with pollution, the plants was shrivelled and diseased and there wasn't an animal in sight.
Despite this Silver, Blaze and Gemerl stayed focused on their mission, they couldn't do anything for the environment right now but they could rescue the prisoners.
It wasn't hard to find the prison it was out in plain sight for all to see, this prison was similar to the one in Green hill and it was just as heavily defended.
"What do you think we should do" asked Silver unsure of how to approach this, Blaze looked closely at the prison then she turned to Gemerl, "Can you see any weaknesses" she asked, "Yes, they have very little defence on the ground, 70% of their defences are air units" said Gemerl pointing to the countless Aero-cannons and Aero-chasers in the sky.
Blaze looked at the robots in the sky and then at the prisoners below, "Silver, Gemerl do you two think that you can handle the robots above" she said, Silver tried to count the robots that he would be facing but failed, "I think so" he said a little unsure, "Don't worry, we've got this" said Gemerl confidently.
"Good, then I can lead the others to free all of the prisoners" said Blaze, despite cumming up with this plan Blaze didn't exactly like it, this would put both Silver and Gemerl in great danger, but this was the best plan that she had.
In just a few minutes everyone was ready to move, "Lets go" said Gemerl as he and Silver flew into the air directly towards the robots above, the robots soon saw them and opened fire, Silver and Gemerl dodged lasers and missiles fired at them.
Silver used his psychokinesis to throw some missiles back to the robots, Gemerl flew straight through some of the robots tearing them to pieces, once he was closer Silver started to use his powers to simply crush the robots.
Within seconds a full battle had begun above the prison.
While the battle above was going on Blaze led the troops towards the prison, Blaze covered herself in fire and charged the fence melting a hole clean through, the battle below started instantly, but with so many of the robots in the sky fighting Silver and Gemerl the ones below was at a disadvantage to Blaze and her team.
Shots was fired from Wispons and Blaze moved around the prison at high speed taking down robots with her flames, the battle was intense but ultimately short, Eggman's robots started to drop like flies and prisoner was led to safety.
Blaze smiled the plan was going well, however it was at this point that someone who Blaze hadn't planned for showed up.
"Well well well, it looks like the kitty got out of her cage" came a distorted voice, Blaze turned and saw Infinite floating towards her, "You" said Blaze as she felt a rush of fear run through her, her last fight with Infinite had ended badly and she was still not at 100% after her imprisonment.
"Oh we're going to enjoy your screams of pain" said Infinite with a sadistic glint in his eye as he charged towards Blaze.
Blaze jumped over the attack and throw a couple of fireballs at Infinite, Infinite created a magenta shield around himself stopping the fire, then he sent out a wave of energy that knocked Blaze flying.
Blaze landed on her feet and charged forward covering herself in fire in the process, Infinite charged Blaze and the two collided in an explosion of fire and magenta energy.
Infinite got the getter in this exchange and Blaze was sent flying back and hit the ground hard, Blaze winced and hugged her body, she was sure that at least one of her ribs was fractured.
Infinite floated above Blaze and an orb of energy appeared in his hand, "Ha ha, no imprisonment this time" he laughed maniacally as he prepared to finish Blaze off.
However before Infinite could launch hi attack Gemerl came flying down from the sky and body slammed him into the ground, Gemerl followed this up by punching the downed Infinite with all of his strength.
Infinite let out a animalistic scream and unleashed an explosion of energy that blasted Gemerl off of him, "MISERABLE ROBOT" shouted Infinite as he raised his hands and magenta lightning shot out of his fingertips and struck Gemerl.
Gemerl sparked and buzzed as the lightning ran through his body, within seconds the robot was down and struggling to stay active, Blaze wanted help but she was in too much pain to do anything.
Infinite got back to his feet, but before her could do anything an Aero-chaser was thrown from the sky and landed on top of him, Silver floated down and quickly got Blaze and Gemerl to their feet, "Come on, we have to go" he said.
Infinite lifted up the Aero-chaser with his power and throw it aside, Infinite growled and stared at Silver with pure murder in his eye, "Go now, I'll hold him off" said Silver to his friends, "But Silver" gasped Blaze struggling to speak while in so much pain, "Just go, now" said Silver as he began to glow cyan with power.
Infinite charged but Silver was able to send him back with a blast of his psychokinesis, Silver picked up every nearby broken robot and flew into the air where he began to throw them at Infinite, Infinite dodged and weaved around these attacks while also firing energy blasts back at Silver.
Gemerl helped Blaze and the two made their way away from the area, as they did so Blaze looked at the battle above, all that she could see was a cyan and a magenta blurs zipping around in the sky.
Blaze knew that Silver needed help but there was no way that she could fight like this, so she did the only thing that she could do, she called for help.
Resistance HQ
Amy was hard at work trying to oversee all of the missions at once when she received a call from Blaze, Amy answered the call "Blaze is everything OK" she asked, "No, Infinite's here" came Blaze's pained voice.
"What" asked a panicked Amy, "Silver's fighting him, but he'll need help, can you send anyone" asked Blaze with a hint of desperation, "Don't worry, I'll see what I can do" said Amy.
Amy quickly looked over everyone's names, not only did she have to find someone who could get to Emerald hill quickly but they would also have to be able to stand against Infinite.
Amy stopped at a name, Shadow, he could teleport over to Emerald hill and he was possibly the strongest member of their team, Amy called Team Dark.
"Hi hun" answered Rouge sounding out of breath, "Rouge I need to talk to Shadow now" said Amy, "Sorry, but he's a little busy right now, there's three EGG breakers over here" said Rouge.
Before Amy could say anything there was the sound of an explosion over the communicator and the call ended, "Rouge, Rouge" called Amy as she tried to get back in contact with Team Dark but failed.
Amy groaned in annoyance as she tried to think of another way to help Silver, looking at the map Amy saw that South island was close to West side island, Sonic could probably make it there in time, however Amy didn't want to put Sonic in any more danger then he already was, but on the other hand if Amy kept the fact that Sonic could help Silver from him he would never forgive her.
Even though Amy didn't like the idea she called Sonic.
South island, Green hill.
Looking back to the prison the three saw that everyone was escaping, now all they had to do was get back to Resistance HQ.
Suddenly the groups communicators beeped.
The group answered and was greeted by Amy's worried voice, "Sonic are you there" she said, "I'm here Amy, what's up" said Sonic, "Silver's fighting Infinite in Emerald hill, he needs help" said Amy explaining as quickly as he could.
"Say no more, I'll be there in a flash" said Sonic, "Sonic please be careful" came Amy's voice right before Sonic shot off.
West side island, Emerald hill.
Silver and Infinite's battle continued, the two of them was puffing and panting from exhaustion, Silver throw some debris at Infinite who dodged underneath it, Infinite sent a couple of energy blasts and Silver dodged one but not the other.
Silver fell to the ground only managing to save himself from a painful fall with his powers at the last second, Infinite flew down until he was in range for an easy shot.
Silver acted quickly and grabbed Infinite's chest with his psychoanalysis, Silver then used all of him might to crush Infinite's chest into itself, Infinite screamed in pain as he fell to the ground, it felt as if his ribs was being crushed into dust
Before Silver could do any more damage Infinite fired a quick energy blast that hit the white hedgehog breaking his concentration, "You, kill you" hissed Infinite as he got back to his feet.
Just then a blue streak shot passed and delivered a punch to Infinite's face, "I've been waiting for this rematch for a while" said Sonic as he stood between Infinite and Silver, "You, kill, kill both" said Infinite.
Sonic didn't even have time to react to how Infinite was acting before the jackal pounced, Sonic dodged and then hit Infinite with some lightning fast punches, Infinite tried to shoot Sonic with some orbs of energy but the blue hedgehog was too fast.
Sonic ran around Infinite only getting close to hit him a few times before retreating to safety again, Infinite sent out a large blast of energy that Sonic was unable to dodge and he was knocked off his feet.
Even though he was injured Silver got back to his feet and used his power to pull a nearby watch tower down towards Infinite while he was distracted with Sonic, Infinite didn't realise that the tower was falling until it was too late and was crushed underneath it.
Everything was silent as Sonic got back up and he and Silver looked at the collapsed watch tower that Infinite was underneath, there was no sound or movement coming from the watch tower, "D-did we do it, did we get him" asked Silver.
As if to answer his question a magenta light began to glow from underneath the watch tower, then with an explosion of energy the pieces of scrap metal was brown away and Infinite rose up, "You, kill you, kill all, kill everything" he panted, the crack in Infinite's mask was now larger and there was a few tears in his synthetic skin revealing his cybernetics underneath.
Just then Infinite began to glow magenta, then air around him began to fizzle and it almost looked like tiny tears was forming out of nowhere, "Kill, kill, kill" screamed Infinite as he glowed brighter and brighter.
"What's he doing" asked Silver who was forced to look away from how bright Infinite was, "Nothing good, lets go" said Sonic who had a very bad feeling about this, Sonic grabbed Silver and then took off at high speed away from Infinite.
Infinite screamed at the top of his lungs with a mix of pain and anger, then he unleashed a massive explosion of power larger then anything that he had done before, the explosion completely overtook the prison and then kept on going.
Sonic who was still running with Silver looked back and saw that the explosion was gaining on them, "Silver hang on tight" he said as he increased his speed and broke the sound barrier creating a sonic boom.
Sonic didn't stop running until both he and Silver was out of Emerald hill, the two looked back and saw that a large portion of Emerald hill was completely gone, all that remained was a crater.
"Wow, I had no idea he could do this" said Silver in amazement, "Neither did I, come on, we need to get back to HQ and tell the others about this" said Sonic, Silver agreed and the two hedgehogs left.
Back at the centre of the crater Infinite was breathing heavily from exhaustion, "We are Infinite, the most powerful being in the world" he panted, the Phantom ruby sparkled and Infinite looked down at it.
"What's that, yes, yes I understand, we should kill them all, we should kill everyone, kill everything" said Infinite as he stroked the ruby, "Yes, I'll do it, my master".
