Holy Snap! I am so sorry for leaving you guys for so long. I have nothing but my sheer laziness to blame this on. And now since I am stuck at home, I guess I can't put this off any longer. BTW, how is everyone doing. I hope you're all staying safe right now. Also I want to thank the people that decides to follow this story even though it has been on haiatus for a couple years. Well, without further ado…. Let's begin!
When Ichika came downstairs, the sight that greeted him made his lips twitch upwards. He sees Youta with flour on his face as well as his shirt while he was mixing a bowl. He then sees Kyou at the stove making what he assumes would be eggs with her back to him. Madoka and Kazou was sitting at the kitchen counter reading from a phone on what he can assume would be breakfast ideas. Shaking his head, Ichika walked over to the four kids to be greeted by Youta as he got closer.
"Hey mom! Did you sleep well last night?" Youta asked continuing to mix his bowl
This caught the attention of the other three as they all looked towards him and each gave their own version of a greeting.
"Where's dad? I thought that she would come down with you." Kyou asked
"She's still washing up. Something about needing more time." Ichika replied, giggling softly to himself
"Okay then. I'm almost done with the eggs here. Youta should almost be done with making the pancake mix as well. So, we'll be ready in about 10 minutes. Madoka and Kazou is still choosing what to make for around 20 minutes now. So, don't expect much from them. Just go sit down and we'll bring the food over." Kyou said, smirking at her other two siblings
"We'll have our breakfast served. We just need to make sure that it's the perfect one." Kazou replied calmly while Madoka kept scrolling through the list
Ichika laughs a bit more at this but complied and went to the table and sat down. Pulling out his phone Ichika checked for messages and new emails. Scrolling through his notification he noticed a text message from Chifuyu. Smiling at this he texted a reply.
[Morning. Sry I didn't see your text earlier. Kinda just woke up] – Ichika
[It's fine. How was your sleep. I heard that you haven't been sleeping well lately.] – Chifuyu
[I actually slept really well last night. I only woke up once but Tabane helped me fall to sleep pretty quickly as well.] – Ichika
[That's good to hear. Also, since Summer break is coming up. I was wondering if you can ask the kids what they want to do during the break.] – Chifuyu
[Okay, but will you be coming home for the break?] – Ichika
[Yeah, I've been trying to do as much work as I can before the summer so that I won't be swamped when I come back.] - Chifuyu
[That's good to hear. I can't wait to see you. 3] – Ichika
Looking up, Ichika can see Tabane walking down the stairs while patting wrinkles out of her dress. When she saw Ichika looking, she pouted which turned into an angry face. This made him laugh knowing the reason for her anger.
"Dad! You're down. What took you so long?" Kyou asked while she scooped an egg onto a plate
"I needed use some extra shampoo since I realized that I had oil in my hair from work." Tabane said as a bit of pink dusted her cheeks
"Well, whatever the reason. I finished the pancakes!" Youta exclaimed while showing everyone a whole plate of pancakes
Looking down at his phone again Ichika saw that Chifuyu had sent him a text.
[I miss you as well Ichika. I'll see you in a few days.] – Chifuyu
[I can't wait! And I'll ask the kids after breakfast. Bye!] – Ichika
The message showed up as read and Ichika looked up when a plate was placed in front of his face. Madoka then came over with several small bowls of cut fruits and Kazou brought everyone over a glass of orange juice.
"Really guys? You looked for a recipe for half an hour and the only thing you got from it was a fruit salad and orange juice?" Kyou asked, shaking her head
"We- well we didn't want to make too much! Youta was making pancakes so I didn't want to go overboard with the food." Madoka replied, blushing red while Kazou nodded his head
"It's fine. And I think that you cut them very well." Ichika said, giving Madoka a pat on the head
They then all sat down and started to eat. Each of them would make some small talk either between one another or with the whole table. When they were almost done eating, Ichika brought up the question that Chifuyu asked.
"Chifuyu texted me earlier and she asked where we would like to go during Spring Break." Ichika asked
"Can we go camping!" Youta shouted out excitedly
"What! No way! I want to go to a hot spring!" Kyou yelled back
"If it's summer then why don't we go to the beach!" Madoka asked
Ichika looked at Kazou for his opinion on where he would like to go getting only a shrug. Ichika nods his head and thinks for a moment as to where they should go. It took a moment before a thought came to his mind.
"I know where we can go!" Ichika exclaimed
The kids all look towards him waiting for his decision.
"I once went to this resort awhile back. I had some good memories there as well. You should remember it as well Tabane. That's where you gave Houki her I.S." Ichika said
"Oh! I remember now. That is a great idea. The small resort has a beach for Madochi here, a forest for Youta nearby, and inside the resort there's a natural hot spring. That's an amazing idea!" Tabane said
"Wait, who's Houki?" Youta asked
Both Tabane and Ichika looked at each other for a moment wondering if they should tell the kids who she was. Since Ichika got married to both Tabane and Chifuyu, the three of them basically went off the grid aside from Chifuyu since she was still at the school. It worried the girls for a while before Chifuyu claimed that Ichika had decided to quit being an I.S. pilot. They were all confused and from what he was told, Chifuyu had to threaten them to not search him out since they wanted to force him back to the school.
"She's my younger sister and your aunt." Tabane said, deciding that there was no need to hide this fact
"What? How come we never heard about her before?" Kazou asked
"We just never found the need to. She's doing well for herself anyways and never calls me anyways." Tabane said, pouting a bit at the end
"Wait! Are you talking about Houki Shinonono? The one that has held the title for Kendo Champion for the last 5 years?" Kyou asked
"Yup! It's actually difficult to contact her nowadays." Tabane said
"Or that she just doesn't want to answer your phone calls." Ichika added
The kids just sat there, looking at their parents while they were in awe at how amazing their family is.
"Anyways, let me tell Chifuyu where we're going to go so, she can make plans for the trip." Ichika said
[Chifuyu] – Ichika
It was a few moments before he got a reply.
[Yeah? Did you decide where to go?] – Chifuyu asked
[Yeah. I was thinking about that one resort we went to during my first year. Would that be fine? It has all the activities that the kids want.] – Ichika
[That'll be fine. I'll see you in a few days. I have to call them now since the resort gets booked up quickly.] – Chifuyu
[Thank you. 3] – Ichika
"I just told her. She's getting us a reservation right now." Ichika said
