Final Tribal Council: Night 36
This is it. For all the marbles. Doofenschmirtz versus Jeffery, head to head. All they need is five votes, but from how they're talking about it, they're going for all of them.
The two enter Tribal Council to see Jeff sitting there, and the nine jurors across from them including the newest member of the jury, Jenna.
They take a seat, knowing the long night that's to come.
"Welcome to your last Tribal Council. Tonight you'll have to plead to THAT jury, about why you deserve to win this game. The two of you were able to do what sixteen other players couldn't do, and get two spots here."
Facts.
"So, here's how this works: You two will give your opening statement about WHY you deserve to win the million. Then, the jury will take the power from you, and do one of two things: give a statement, or question you. You will have one last chance to swing them to your side. Understood?"
The two older men nod.
"Alright. Jeffery, we'll start with you…"
The elder clears his throat, and makes his statement.
"Coming in to this, I wanted to lay low. Every time a big threat pops up, they get taken out. So, I pretended to be a follower, just 'good old Jeffery.' Nobody suspected that I knew what I was doing the whole time. I was in the majority, NEVER targeted, and made sure to bring the person I wanted to, to the end." he says.
"Pre-merge, Metal Sonic came up to me and made an offer to protect each other, in the shadows while Saolo versus Loto was going on. It was the best choice, because I was able to slide under the radar like I wanted to, and pretty much…get to the final anyway. I didn't need an idol OR immunity to do that. If you think that's clever, than welcome to my camp."
Wily scratches his chin.
"Is that all?"
"Yep."
The host sets his sights on Doofenschmirtz next.
"Doofenschmirtz, you're up."
Here he goes.
"I'd like to say, I know that Jeffery didn't have much trouble, but my biggest strength IS overcoming the trouble! I would have been a goner at the swap, but I put in the time to find an idol, and save myself. And when I wasn't searching? I was trying to be affable. Hurt my pride a bit but i had to do it!" he exclaims.
"Even though I did have an idol, and had to get immunity…I'm not some weak player. This is going to sound really douchey, but I've sent EVERY one of you to that bench. Did Jeffery do it too? Yes. But Jeffery…we're cool, but I had more of a voice than you did."
Jeffery tilts his head, while Shane snickers.
"I attached myself to a power player like Metal, or Shane, and it was thanks to that that I was able to find my footing. It wasn't just strategy either! If I didn't get along with the Saolo, I would be sitting there with all of you. But you didn't see how smart I really was until it was too late!" he exclaims. BUT…he's still going.
"Before anyone says anything about how I was 'carried,' I had to act on my own! Final seven, if I didn't join up with Diana, Nefarious would have taken me out! If I didn't risk my life, beat the biggest threat, and do one of the craziest moves ever? Metal would have taken me out. And he knows it."
The blue bot just stares at him.
"Nobody's come for Jeffery, and he's to my left. Everyone's come for me, and i'm still standing."
Assertion. There are two types of play here: Jeffery seems to have a rational approach, while Doofenschmirtz is more on the aggressive side. BUT, there was no other choice. It was a battle: Under-The-Radar versus Flashy.
"Alright…"
The host turns to that bench.
"Jury…it's your turn. You can say whatever you want, but at the end of the day you have to vote for one of them. If someone doesn't have anything to say, they CAN pass. BUT, you may feel confident that you're voting for someone, and they can still turn it around." he says. "You can Pass, but do it at your own risk."
Oh ok.
"Wily, you're up."
Wily gets up first. Given he's been watching the merge play out since the beginning, he may have something interesting to say.
"I'll start with you, Heinz. You have been targeted for a while, and yet every time I sit on this bench, I watched you walk out every. single. time. We may not have gotten along in the game, but I admire your ability to Cockroach throughout this game."
Wow. A genuine compliment.
"Jeffery…"
He has the elders attention.
"You said you played under-the-radar. But, I still believe that Heinz has done more than you. Now you can convince me otherwise. Why should I award you?" Wily asks.
The elder had to go for the throat.
"He was an old man that needed an advantage to stay in the game. I'm the old man who didn't need one and still got here.." he turns to Doof. "Sorry man."
"I get it."
The two face Wily, who has one last piece to say.
"You may have gotten to the end, but you were too passive. My vote is for Heinz. You have a lot of work to do." Wily says, and he takes a seat on the bench.
One vote was in Doof's camp already. Jeffery had an uphill battle.
"Qwark…do you have anything to say?" Jeff asks.
Qwark gets up, and speaks his mind.
"Even though you two aren't the strongest final two, I still have to commend the efforts you've all made. Jeffery, you were a target on the Loto beach, but thanks to your plan, you were never getting chopped. Doctor Doofenschmirtz, even though I thought you were some goofy Doctor, you backed up your intelligence with the moves you made. My votes already decided, but the rest of ours aren't. Good luck to the both of you."
The two old men smile, and Qwark takes his spot back on the bench.
"Erin…" Jeff calls.
She stays seated.
"Nothing to say?"
"He just said everything I had to say."
"Alright then. Shane…"
Shane rises and heads to the front of the finalists. What was he going to say?
"Jeffery, you did nothin', so I got nothin'. Doof, we need to talk."
Oh Shane, taking the game seriously as always.
"Back at Saolo, i thought you were clueless. You were on the bottom of a group but still thought about joining them. Then, before we swapped you were like a puppy dog going to me, or Metal for approval." Jesus Shane cut deeper why don't you. "But that's pre-merge. Tell me about how you've changed strategy over the merge."
"I've thought for myself! When the Saolo Six shattered, I stuck by you because you'd be taken out first. It wasn't just a Loyalty thing! If I was Metal's puppy I wouldn't have saved myself at seven. I would be sitting on the bench because he told me to vote for Diana." he explains. "After that, I was already getting votes and joined Metal again so I could stay. Avoiding him to 'be a big dog' is just DUMB!"
Shane nods.
"If I was someones loyal dog, I would have just let them skate to the end but I wanted this seat, and got it."
Shane crosses his arms.
"Respect you owning your game. Let's see if it gets you my vote." he says, before taking his spot on the jury bench. Nefarious pops up, and the frown couldn't form any quicker on Doof's of their faces.
"Jeffery, you have my vote. Doofenschmirtz? I'm not finished with you."
All eyes are on Nefarious, about to pop off in front of everyone.
"You're not as good as you think Heinz. You needed a fluke idol you found last minute to even GET to the merge, and when you got there you still needed your Mommy and Daddy to carry you! I don't care if you, allegedly, thought for yourself because you always had a bigger threat in the way." Nefarious says, but Doof…he's not going down like this.
"Are you upset I beat you?"
"YES! The fact someone like YOU, who didn't do anything until two days ago, are sitting THERE, and someone like me, who made moves, and didn't need to hide, is standing HERE!" At least he can admit his bitterness. "The way you did it is lame too, you took the easy way out!"
Jenna nods, although she's not bitter like he is.
"And if you took Jenna over Jeffery, you wouldn't have a chance, NONE!"
"Why did you think I got rid her?!"
Nefarious' eyes…there's a new fire.
"Ok smart—actually I'll call you a dumb*ss since Metal was the smart one of the group. You didn't have my vote then and now you DEFINITELY don't have it!" he exclaims.
"Be jealous…"
Nefarious scoffs, and sets his sights on the old man next.
"JEFFREY…You are one of the worst to ever play." Harsh, but expected since he's one of the least pleasant castaways of all-time. "BUT, I'd take you winning over Heinz Doofenschmirtz. I at least know you, HE screwed me out if a space station…" Nefarious says, before turning back to the Jury Bench.
"Good luck to one of you."
He takes his seat on the jury bench after one of the saltiest jury moments in this series. An opposite of Nefarious, Michonne, leaves the bench and moves to the finalists, a topic already in mind.
"No bitterness here." Nefarious rolls his eyes. "This is a game question."
What was it about?
"As we all know: Jenna flipped at the final six to join the both of you in an alliance. Your alliance is very important to the endgame, so what I want to know is, since SHE'S not a finalist: who had the biggest role in getting her to flip?" she asks.
"I did it behind Metal's back." Doof states.
"She approached me first!"
Jeffery on the attack!
"When I entered the group, THAT made things happen! There wouldn't be any "Weak Links" if I was sticking to Metal the whole time!" Doof asserts.
"You're sounding arrogant in front of the jury…"
"Sorry man but I'm trying to win!"
They both face Michonne, who doesn't look amused. "I heard both of you, and my votes still up in the air. Good luck." she says, headed back to the bench. Then, the challenge beast of the season leaves the bench and has a question of her own.
"At the final four, someone put their immunity up and lost it. IF i was still there, and won immunity: would either of you challenge me for it? Knowing that I'm a great firemaker?" she asks.
"YES!" Doof shouts, making a few people on the jury bench flinch. "I did it to Metal, I would do it to you!"
"…yeah." Jeffery says. Even though he was hesitant, he still needed to stay in this.
"Good to know. I hope after this we can stop being bitter. This is a game after all." she says, headed back to the bench while Nefarious grumbles to himself. After his grilling of Doof, shots were fired his way.
Metal Sonic steps up next, both men keeping their eyes on him. The bot addresses Jeffery first.
"Jeffery. The fact you got to the final two, and did it with your closest ally, is impressive. But, your biggest flaw is your gameplay. Like Wily said, you are a passive player. Your playstyle is boring, and you didn't do much of note besides argue with Cassidy…"he definitely got that info from someone.. "You still aren't out of it yet, because I need to address my Day 1 Ally…"
That's when he focuses on the doc in the white lab coat.
"Doofenschmirtz…you have some respect from me, with how you were able to risk your life in this game to take me out. However, I see a flaw in your game: It can be sloppy. We all know you turned the tables on Nefarious, but they could have been lying to you. The moment you heard your name, you got reckless. Not to say it's negative all the time, but that could have been a game ender." Metal critiques.
"In addition, there was your final four move. If that play didn't work, then you would be sitting on the jury. You would look like an idiot. Fortunately, you won."
He takes a step back.
"Tonight it comes down to a boring game versus a sloppy one. Only one type will win." he says, headed back to the bench and allowing for the last member of the jury to step up.
Jenna leaves the bench, and faces the final two. The last actual chance for them to campaign.
"First things first, I'd like to thank all of you for a very messy season, it was really fun to be on the sidelines," a few jurors laugh. "but here's the hard part: I've gotta critique you."
What's next for them!"
"Jeffery..you seem like a nice guy..but that's all I can say about you."
He just shrugs it off.
"Doc, you made some crazy moves, but your best wasn't made until the very end. I DON'T think you were carried all the way, but you did benefit when others had to save you. Back at seven, me, Diana, and Michonne were ready to vote you out until Nefarious came storming into camp after his dad talked him down." Jenna says.
Nefarious' head snaps up, and Metal puts a hand on his shoulder. "Not here. Show some respect…" Nefarious groans like a seven year old, and Jenna ignores the scene behind her to continue her statement.
"As a person, there's no problems, but as a player, I see flaws. It's about who's less flawed. Thank you." she says, turning to the bench and sitting down.
Once she's sat…it's time for THE most important part of every season: the final vote. All those old men can do now is just sit and wait. Both caught heat tonight, and had to rely on the same jurors that gave them that.
"Jury…it is time to vote. Wily, you're up first."
The first jurors leaves the bench and heads to the voting booth.
—
MetalSonic: You aren't the loyal soldier I thought you were. In the end, sloppy beats boring, because at least you tried. Enjoy the currency. (Doofenschmirtz)
Nefarious: You BOTH suck, but I'll pick you over that Doofenschmirtz any day… (Jeffery)
How would the other jurors vote?
—
After voting, the nine jurors return to their bench.."I'll tally the votes.." states Jeff, who heads to get the voting urn.
Doofenschmirtz taps his fingers on his slender legs, while Jeffery inhales.
Jeff returns to his podium, voting urn in hand. Things are going to be a bit different this time. Since it's the Final vote, a protocol needed to be put in place for this. "Alright. Thank you for a sloppy season. We look for drama and high stakes, and that was given to us. I'll see you in L.A for the live finale. Goodnight."
Jeff takes the urn and leaves the Tribal Council set, everyone watching him leave. For five weeks and a day, they've been stuck on Samoa.
Now, they'd end it in front of the whole world.
CBS Studios: Los Angeles
The next thing we see is the roar of the crowd! After fifteen weeks, looking at four months watching the season, they were ready to see who's taking it all.
Onstage, is Jeff Probst in a suit and tie of all things! The voting urn and his podium are present. More importantly though, Doofenschmirtz and Jeffery are seated, both looking much cleaner than they did on the island.
Speaking of castaways, the jury is sitting on a steel bench to the side of the final two. They're all looking clean, and
The camera zooms in on Jeff "We've had arguments, alliances, blindsides, and moments to remember across the season. All of that, comes to a head right here, right now live in L.A!" Jeff exclaims, causing the audience to cheer more. "WHO is going to win this game? Doofenschmirtz, the doctor who's played like he's wild card? Or Jeffery, the cool, calm, and collected player?"
That's when he removes the lid, and faces the final two.
"We're about to find out…"
While Jeff reaches in, Doof and Joof have their last conversation before the votes are read.
"You nervous?" Jeffery asks, and Doof's fidgeting around with his fingers.
"I can't hide it."
"It's ok man."
Jeff has the nine pieces of parchment in hand, ready to reveal the second winner of the series. In the audience, we see a group of skinny people with white lab coats.
"DOOF! DOOF! DOOF! DOOF!"
Label: Doofenschmirtz Fan Club
Nearby, is a group of senior citizens, clapping when the camera focuses on Jeffery. An older woman shouts "That's my brother!"
Label: Jeffery's Family and Friends
Then we focus back onstage, Jeff ready to roll.
"I'll read the votes…"
Here. We. Freaking. Go.
"First vote…"
— "Doof."
— Jeffery.
— Doctor Doofenschmirtz.
He mouths "Qwark."
— Doofenschmirtz.
He has to stop himself from jumping up.
— Doofenschmirtz.
Jeffery starts smiling and clapping, knowing what's about to come next. Doofenschmirtz is hyperventilating.
.
.
.
"The winner of Survivor: Smackdown in Samoa, Heinz Doofenschmirtz!"
Doof launches himself off his stump and into the air, jumping around like a madman!
"F*CK YEAH!"
The crowd cheers him on. The runner up turns Doof around, and the doctor just hugs him. "I WON! I DID IT!" he shouts, and Jeffery chuckles at this. He may have lost, but he took it in grace.
As for the winner, despite being dismissed early, after a long thirty six days, he pulled out the win! He rushes offstage and practically LEAPS into his crowd of supporters, who lift him up and surf him down the row!
What a ridiculous celebration :D
Then, the seven pre jurors join the jury onstage! Greg, Amelia, Snow, Becky, Cassidy, Mary, and Cruella. There are some reunions, such as the Shane/Michonne/Erin and Snow/Amelia/Mary groups. Cruella…she just doesn't talk to anybody.
She doesn't even want to be there.
While she's not excited, Jeff is. The camera zooms in on him, smile on his face, ready to close the show.
"We've had wars all over this season. Shane versus Snow, Becky versus Qwark, Cruella versus..everybody, Saolo versus Loto, a lot to cover in so little time! We've also had immunity, which should be guaranteed given up TWICE for risky plays! Some worked for others, other times it didn't work at all! Qwark and Metal know a-lot about that."
This wouldn't go away would it?
"Even though players made mistakes, it made the season for me, and I hope it did for all of you! Thank you for joining us in Samoa, I'm Jeff Probst, and I may see YOU for Season 3! One last word before I go: Apply! Have a good night!"
The camera zooms out to capture the whole scene, and fades to black..
Final Votes:
Doofenschmirtz— Jenna, Metal Sonic, Diana, Michonne, Shane, Erin, Qwark, and Wily
Jeffery— Nefarious
Runner Up: Jeffery
Winner: Doctor Heinz Doofenschmirtz (8–1)
Ladies, gentlemen, whichever you prefer..thank you SO MUCH for reading this 36-day season. Normally I'm excited coming into writing episodes and drama, but to the anonymous loyal readers whether you're in the U.S, Argentina, or Mars, thank you because knowing someone will come back to read is one of my motivators!
So, what can be said about the final two's games that haven't been said already? They both had their flaws, but in the end our winner took the right person to the end. Sometimes, that can seal the deal.
Jeff DID mention a Season 3. Going outside of the project…I do want to do a Season 3. There will also be more content coming to, because I'm really thinking about adding a "Meet The Cast" bit to the season. It would help readers understand why some people would play, or go against people like they do. Besides just the game.
With that being said…I have nothing else to say lol. Ticket out, have a good one!
