Story 26

~Zero Growth~

Oo—O—oO

Ea took a deep breath. Laying himself on his bed, his mind wandered to his past—from the first time he came to this manor until now. Nothing has changed since that time, except their appearance that grew old.

And 'nothing' here implied to their personality as well.

He was still stoic yet kuudere as ever, Krowell was more stoic and emotionless than him, Profe still had her motherly aura, Zehel still loved to do pranks on everyone, Vertrag still had his nephew-complex, Relikt and Fest still babysitting everyone at anytime, and Landkarte—

("Nice to meet you! My name is Landkarte, what's yours?")

("Kal? Eeeh… Cal? AAH! That's so hard to say! I'll call you Ea instead!")

Ea sighed. Landkarte's the one who gave his current nickname. At first, he rejected that kind of name. But now, after 12 years has passed, he grew to love that nickname and prefer to be called by it than his actual name. But after he thought for a while, everyone in this manor had other nickname that different with their actual one… And he didn't know about Landkarte's real name yet.

"Gotta ask him tomorrow morning," Ea muttered softly while hugging his bolster. His amethyst eyes stared silently at the photo where he, Landkarte, Profe, and Zehel went to a theme park several years ago; he was eating ice cream Profe brought for him, Landkarte grinned widely at the camera, while Zehel stood behind them with his hands messing up their hair. Ea chuckled unconsciously when he remembered what Profe had done to Zehel that time—Profe didn't like it whenever someone messed up her tidy work, and Zehel had to repay for it in hard way.

And come to think of it, Landkarte had never change since the first time they met…

His sweet teeth, his happy-go-lucky persona, his yandere side—oh, scratch the last one. That one made its debut when they entered junior high school, not since the first time Ea lived in this manor. Ea never saw Landkarte crying except when he felt pain or when he said he couldn't eat apples anymore. And he never saw them again recently, even after the light-haired teen had an accident again and broke his legs (again). Simply put, Landkarte's a strong person, wasn't he?

Not strong enough in 'telling his secret' or 'confessing something' department, though.

Just like now, when an e-mail arrived on his phone inbox. Ea read it first before chuckled with soft pink blushes on his cheeks.

Although Landkarte never told it directly nor wrote journal about his feelings toward Ea, everyone—and that included Ea too—knew about it already.

"What a fool loafer you are, Landkarte."

He typed something without bothering to come at the light-haired teen's room as usual whenever he sent something strange to him at night, then put his phone on the desk beside his bed, and closed his eyes. Ea was about to fly into dreamland when an excited cry came from the neighboring room suddenly, followed by Zehel's cursing and Fest's groaning sound. But Ea didn't feel bothered by it, anyway. He knew the reason, and just pulled his blanket to cover himself when someone opened his room's door loudly and shouted his name with usual cheerful voice.

"Let's go on a date tomorrow, Ea~!"

Ignoring Relikt's choked voice and Profe's hysterical one from downstairs, Ea raised his hand to show a thumb up for the light-haired teen.

At first, he didn't hear anymore sound and thought the loafer has returned to his own room in peace. He almost fell into a deep sleep too until he realized that he didn't hear footsteps walking away from his room and opened his eyes—

-only to find Landkarte's face very close to his own.

His eyes widened in seconds.

Several minutes that full of punches and painful scream later, Ea could be found sitting on his bed while Landkarte was sitting on the floor with his head bent down. If someone looked closely, there're several punch marks on his cheeks.

"So, what're you going to do just now, you jerk?" Ea said sharply, ignoring their current status and Landkarte's whimpering sound.

"Just wanna give you 'good night kiss' before you go to sleep…" said Landkarte sulkily, his cheeks puffed like a sulking children would do. "Since we can't sleep together anymore like we used to do when we're children, I just want to give it to you. But you punched me instead and—"

Ea sighed tiredly, and messed up his already messy bed hair in frustrated manner.

Whether it's from his habits or personality, Landkarte really had zero growth with him, eh?

The end.

A/N: And so it's over now! *let out a relieved sigh* Thank you sooo much for those who've following this story and keep reading and reviewing (and also translating for Aeolucia) even though the story has become far, far lame than before! Hugs to you all~ #hugs

By the way, I kinda want to make extra chapter for answering the unanswered questions for you all. Like, "Who the hell was the one who called Zehel after he made a prank on the teenagers at chapter 22?" or "Why don't you end this story with a more elegant ending, crappy author?!" Don't worry, I'll answer it (with some illogical answers, though #slapped). Will only make it if there're questions, though, and only an extra chapter. And I'll give the real answer of the question I've asked before there. (=v=)/
