Michelle's POV
Brooklyn, Lex, Hannah, and I found one of Xanatos's labs trashed.
"There's definitely been a struggle here"
"And my mind has been in a haze all night" Lex added. It was then I figured it out.
"You sneaky bastard!" I shouted at Brooklyn. But it wasn't my mate I was talking to. It was the evil gargoyle who was using Brooklyn's body that I was addressing. "You let my mate go!"
"And why would I want to do that? You're a pretty thing" the evil spirit cooed to me.
Then using my mate's body Lex and Hannah were knocked unconscious and so was I.
Serenity's POV
"For f**k's sake this is embarrassing" I growled.
I was currently bound by the metal coils that the robotic gargoyle used. Now Goliath, Hudson, and I were hanging upside down in David's great hall. Smoke came out of my nose in annoyance.
"Easy lass" Hudson advised me.
"Serenity can you try and shift?" Goliath asked.
"Tried that already and no dice" I replied to my Beloved of Night. The elevator dinging got our attention and out came Angela and Broadway.
My mate told them to look out as Coldstone shot a laser blast at them. Angela then attacked Coldstone but she was thrown to the floor and that pissed Broadway off. The teal-colored gargoyle attacked Coldstone but then he was thrown backward and he too crashed into the metal flooring.
Coldstone then threw a tree on top of him. Brooklyn tried to sneak up on Coldstone but the robotic gargoyle shot a laser blast at him. On Brooklyn's back was an unconscious Michelle. Well, she was until the blast made her fall onto the floor next to Angela.
"Naughty, naughty, sneaking up on Uncle Coldstone"
"On the contrary, I'd be very pleased whoever you are if you just continue with what your doing, destroy them all, I just want the phoenix"
"Shit!, that isn't Brooklyn but the evil jerk who resided with Coldfire and Coldstone in that abyss!" I exclaimed figuring it out.
Michelle was picked up and the evil spirit chuckled.
"Clever dragon, Angela, and Broadway are also possessed by the spirits of Coldstone and Coldfire"
Michelle then groaned while whoever was using Coldstone's body approached the trapped Broadway/Coldstone.
"Well this has all been very fascinating but my date is coming to"
"I'm afraid you cannot leave"
The evil spirit chuckled darkly as he used Brooklyn's body to get near the elevators. The elevator then opened and the robotic male from prior grabbed Brooklyn and Michelle fell to the floor. This time she woke up and saw Brooklyn being bound.
Coldfire then managed to grab hold of Angela and the two females began to fight. Whoever used was using Coldstone made the robotic gargoyle throw poor Brooklyn in a circle and the red gargoyle was tossed into the air and amid the chaos Broadway managed to get free and was now duking it out against Coldstone's mechanical body.
Lex and Hannah found us and one by one Goliath, Hudson, and I got freed. I then shifted to my dragon form and used my fangs to free Hudson and Goliath's bounded hands. Angela was currently in the pool dealing with Coldfire and at one point my stepdaughter went under. She then managed to pull Coldfire under as well and she resurfaced.
Goliath was then bound again with the metal coils from the robotic gargoyle. But I sank my fangs deep into the coils once again freeing my Beloved of Night. I spat the metal out before returning to my human form. Broadway then glided to where the possessed Brooklyn was and grabbed him. Michelle also joined and she was pissed off.
Michelle's POV
"Let my mate go you jerk" I demanded after I resumed my human form.
"Aw and I was enjoying this body"
The possessed Broadway tossed Brooklyn onto the floor and the evil spirit within mumbled before eying his robotic form.
Serenity's POV
Lex then began to recite a spell with some help from whoever was possessing Coldstone's body. The evil spirit then left Brooklyn's body and transferred himself into the robotic one.
Michelle's POV
"Dang I have a headache" Brooklyn mumbled.
"Hey babe welcome back"
"That jerk made a move on you" Brooklyn growled but I shut him up with a quick kiss. Below the jerk who had possessed Brooklyn introduced himself as Coldsteel before taking off since he was outnumbered.
Brooklyn took me into his arms before shouting at the departing Coldsteel.
"And this scrawny gargoyle will be waiting since you tried to steal my mate!"
Serenity's POV
"You okay Brooklyn?" I asked as he and Michelle landed.
"Yeah I'm fine Serenity just got a bad headache" he reassured me as he put Michelle onto her feet.
"Okay give up the charade," I told whoever was using Coldstone's body.
Meanwhile, the spirits of Coldstone and Coldfire agreed it was time to leave Angela and Broadway's bodies.
"Phew that was fun"
Something shot out of Coldstone's metal body and it was revealed to be Puck!
"Oh you son of a bitch" I hissed and Goliath held me back so I wouldn't give the fae a good smack.
"We should have known it was you Puck" Goliath growled.
"Hey Eden wasn't here and I was bored, besides soul transfers are tricky and require voluntary participation I needed the evil one to be impressed enough to ask for Coldsteel"
The fae then whistled and Coldfire's metal body jumped out of the pool. After sharing a quick embrace Lex began to recite the soul transfer spell and the spirits of Coldfire and Coldstone went back into their respective bodies. Then the two robotic gargoyles shared a hug and it was cute.
"Now that you two are free of Coldsteel do you plan on rejoining the clan?" Goliath inquired.
"We will once we deal with Coldsteel" Coldfire promised my Beloved of Night. The mated pair then bid us goodbye before taking their leave.
"Alright Puck you got some explaining to do" I turned my attention to my daughter's mate. "I thought your magic was limited and what the heck is going on with Lex?"
"My dear Serenity I haven't done any magic in hours"
The trickster then gave Lex a proud look.
"It was my prize pupil passing his first lesson with flying colors"
Another spirit emerged from Lex and I felt my jaw drop when it turned out Alex was the one doing magic!
"He had a little help" Lex pointed out.
"He had a brilliant teacher" Puck corrected before taking out a large stopwatch from Alex's blankets. The fae then tossed the watch to Goliath. "Well it's getting late and I must leave, make sure to give my love to Eden"
The trickster then disappeared in a cloud of magic. The watch made the sound like a cuckoo clock and I face palmed while Goliath added.
"That fae really gets on my nerves"
Later.
Michelle's POV
"If I see that jerk Coldsteel again I'm gonna kick his ass" I growled.
Brooklyn then placed a claw under my chin and I looked at him.
"We can do that together Firebird"
I flashed my other half a smirk.
"Your seductive tone was hot"
My mate then chuckled before kissing me on the forehead.
Serenity's POV
"Is she asleep?" I asked Goliath as he emerged from Eden's room.
"She is" he confirmed.
"That damn fae gave me a headache" I growled before taking an ibuprofen.
"It wouldn't surprise me since we were hanging upside down for some time"
My Beloved of Night sat down on the floor and made himself comfortable against the sheets and blankets. I joined him a second later and my Beloved of Night drew me close.
"Are you alright my Warrior of Flame? You look troubled"
"It's the Dragon Rage" I admitted. "I fear what will happen if I lose control of myself again"
Goliath kissed my forehead while gently caressing my cheek with his claws.
"You won't lose control again, I'll be by your side as will others who love you"
As will I my dragon reassured me.
"Now I have a question my fiery one" Goliath stated changing the subject. He then showed me a book that I knew too well. "This is about vampires right?"
The book he was holding was Dracula.
"Yep and it's really good I'm surprised you haven't read it yet"
"There are too many books I've found interesting" Goliath confessed looking a bit embarrassed. I kissed his cheek before taking the book from him.
"Want me to read out loud to you?"
Goliath smiled and soon we were both lost in the world of Bram Stoker.
