Esmeralda chuckled and waved her hand in negation. "No, no, I am not related to your old enemy, Emeraude back in your own world. I am one of the Portal Keepers who maintain the Network Between the Worlds. Not an evil sorceress at all!"
Chibi-Usa calmed herself. It seemed there was a lot that she didn't know. She would take this opportunity to learn more about what was going on. She was tired of just stumbling from one place to another.
"Where are we?" asked Chibi-Usa after they had finished the first cup of tea.
Esmeralda gestured for Chibi-Usa to follow her to the cave opening. She surveyed the land below, a wide green plain below crossed by streams and dotted with lakes and forests. At the very edge was a towering sweep of massive sand dunes.
"This is the land of Ev. Across the plains you can see the edge of the Impossible Desert. Beyond the desert to the south lies the land of Oz."
