The God of Darkness

Atem and his army, along with Akefia, Mahad, Mana, Marik, Seth, Jono and Kisara, could see the outline of Kul Elna in the distance. Then out of the sudden, many people on horses headed to them with their weapon raised.

Atem raised his sword and his army pulled out their weapons, "Attack!" Atem roared and pointed his sword to ahead of them and he make his horse run. War shout roared behind him and his army marched forward with him.

Atem's army and Akhunadin's army clashed in the middle, but there's no sight of Akhunadin. Atem killed everyone who get on his way, his army who have Ka had summoned them to help them with their fight.

"Pharaoh!" Kisara yelled as her White Dragon clawed at the enermy, she was safe on her Ka's back, "Pharaoh! Leave them to us! Go ahead and get that traitor!".

Jono's black Dragon roared as it blasted red flame to the enemy, "Pharaoh!" Jono called as he cut down his enemy with his sword, "Go!".

Atem nodded, "I'm counting on you!" he said before he, Akefia, Mahad, Mana, Marik, and Seth went ahead.

"Oh Ra." Atem gasped they arrived at the ruined village of Kul Elna, the atmosphere was so heavy with dread.

"Yeah, everything is in ruin." Akefia said sadly before get serious, "We don't have time to hesitate, we have to stop Akhunadin before he could get his hand on that Dark Energy".

Atem nodded and get his horse to walk again, when they entered the village, they gasped again when there's so many Spirits approaching them.

"Everyone!" Akefia called out to the Spirits, he got their attention immediately, "Don't harm these people, our enemy is Akhunadin!".

Atem saw the Spirits continued to approached them, but they not make any move to harm them. One of the Spirits, it appeared to be a woman, "Akefia." The Spirit spoke.

"Mother." Akefia greeted her, "Where is he?" he asked urgently, "We have to stop him before he could get more power".

"That man is in the Temple." Akefia's Mother answered with worry, "Be careful, he have tricks in his sleeve".

"I will!" Akefia answered before he marched forward with his horse, Atem and the rest followed after him.

Akefia led them to a building in the center of the village, which survived the attack in the past, and then climbed down from his horse and entered the building. "This place is . . .?" Atem asked as they descended the stairs.

"The Temple, where Akhunadin created the Millennium Items." Akefia answered without looking back, "Come on, let's hurry".

"Yugi?" Malik asked when Yugi stood up abruptly, he looked at his friend to see Yugi was in his Vampire form and his expression was worried but determined.

"I can't stay here." Yugi said as he looked at the direction of Kul Elna, "Malik, you stay here and help those who seek refuge." He unfurled his wings, "My blood is boiling, something bad is going to happen." He looked at Malik again, "I have to help them." Without waiting for Malik's answer, Yugi run to the nearest window and flew out, heading for Kul Elna.

"Yugi!" Malik called out, but Yugi already so far away, he sighed and head to the gate to see if there's people coming.

"Akhunadin!" Akefia yelled as he arrived in the middle of the Temple where the Millennium Items created, "You bastard." He growled as Akhunadin turned to face them, "Diabound!" he called out his Ka.

"Dios!" Seth also called out his Ka.

"Magician of Illusions!" Mahad called out his Ka as well.

Mana, who was still on top of the stairs, close her eyes and called out her Ka. She and Mahad was actually the same type, a Magician who can only called out their Ka when they are unconscious because their Ka and Ba connected, but different from Mahad, who was able to summon his Ka and control it's movement without needing so much concentration, Mana need to concentrate fully in order to control her Ka's movement. So, Mana had to stay away from the battlefield to avoiding any direct attack, that way her concentration wouldn't break.

Akhunadin looked at them with calm and cold expression before he laughed, "Do you think that those little monsters could defeat my new power?" he sneered before his Millennium Eye glowing brightly, but the glow was not gold like usual, instead, it's black light, he then shot them with his new Magic.

"Spiria!" Isis's voice rang before Spiria get in front of them and formed a light barrier and shielded them from the black Magic.

"Isis?!" Mahad gasped in shock.

Isis run down the stairs and get beside him, "I come here to help." she said breathlessly, she had run without stopping as soon as she get to the ruined village.

Akhunadin then laughed again, "You fool! Now that all Millennium Items here, I can summon the God of Darkness!" he laughed out loud before he again shot them with black light.

"Spiria!" Isis called out and Spiria make the light barrier again, but Akhunadin's power was stronger than Spiria's barrier, Spiria thrown backward to the wall, causing Isis to cringe in pain.

"What the hell?!" Akefia yelled when he noticed that the shadow in the room moved and tying them, immobilize their movement.

Akhunadin laughed, "Now I can take your Items freely." He said with a sneer before walked leisurely to them and began to collecting their Items, started from taking Atem's Millennium Pendant (Since it's not break into pieces yet), the he move to take Isis's Necklace, then he took the Millennium Rod from Seto.

"I-" Marik said through gritted teeth, his whole body was shaking in effort to fight Akhunadin's Magic.

"Hm?" Akhunadin looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "You want to say something?" he asked with a sneer as he stood in front of him with his arm crossed, "Let's see how you try it".

Marik growled as he slowly move his hand, the effort make him breathless, "I-" he tried again before his will power win against his hold, even if it's for a short moment. He quickly grabbed one of the nearest Items that he could reach, which happen to be the Millennium Rod, "I won't let you do as you please!" he yelled angrily and snatch the Rod from Akhunadin's hand, the Rod glowed brightly then.

Akhunadin gasped, "How could this be?" he gasped when the golden light shining brightly from the Rod and a glowing Eye appeared on Marik's forehead, "The Rod had chosen Seth to be it's Master, how come it choose you now even though Seth is still alive?!".

Marik was panting, but he raised the Rod in his hand and pointed it to Akhunadin, "I don't know." He answered, "But I won't give this Rod to you, I won't let you gain more power than you already have!" he then roared and as if answering his wish, the Rod shot a golden light to Akhunadin.

"I won't lose!" Akhunadin exclaimed as he touch his Eye, which then glowed a black light and the black light shot towards Marik, "You are not used with Magic, you are still weak!" the black light out shined Marik's gold light and Marik screamed when the black light engulfed him.

"Marik!" Atem, Akefia, and Isis yelled in horror while Mahad, Seth and Mana gasped in shock and fear, fearing for their friend well being.

The black light disappeared and they could see Marik laying on the ground and not moving, Akhunadin laughed, "There's no way someone like you could defeat me!" he said before he walked towards Marik. Atem and the rest could only watch because they still couldn't move due to Akhunadin's Magic, the gasped when Akhunadin pulled out the Rod from Marik's hand and separated the top and the bottom of the Rod to revealed a sharp end from the end of the top. "Well, since you managed to get out from my bind earlier, I will give you a gift." He sneered before stabbing the sharp end to Marik's chest, earning a choked cough from the General.

"Marik!" Atem and the rest exclaimed in horror, they couldn't believe that they unable to help their friend.

Akhunadin laughed again before he walked to Akefia, "Now, your Ring." He said coldly, "I could just take it from you, but knowing you, you would become a problem later, so . . ." he smirked before he also stabbed Akefia in his chest.

"Akefia!" Atem and Isis screamed in horror again, one thing they know, Yugi would definitely feel sad and hurt if he know that his Papa had died.

Akhunadin ignored them and walked to the Slate where the Items created and start placing the Items, Atem, Seth, Mahad, Mana and Isis could only watched, no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't break free from Akhunadin's Magic.

"Now, the last one." Akhunadin said as he reached for his Millennium Eye, he screamed as he pulled the Eye purposefully from it's place.

Just when Akhunadin put the Eye in it's place and black light engulfed the Slate, they heard running footsteps, "Papa! Daddy!" Yugi's voice rang out and suddenly Atem and the rest could moving their body again.

Akefia and Marik opened their eyes a slit, they know that they were dying, but both still stood up and walked towards Akhunadin.

"Papa! Marik! Stop! You are injured!" Yugi yelled as tears flowing from his eyes.

Akefia turned to Yugi while Marik walked to Akefia and placed his left hand on Akefia's right shoulder, "I'm sorry, Yugi." Akefia whispered softly, "But I won't last long, there's still something that I need to do." Akefia then turned to Marik, who nodded his head. Akefia nodded back and looked at Akhunadin, who was shocked that the two still able to move.

Akefia breathed in deeply and raised his right hand and pointing it at Akhunadin, "Di, Diabound." He whispered, in that second, Diabound appeared behind the still shocked Akhunadin and stabbed it's hand through Akhunadin's chest.

Akhunadin make a strangled scream and drop dead on the ground, Akefia and Marik panting harshly because in order for Akefia to summoned out his Ka, he had drew Magic energy from Marik. They both then also dropped to the ground, but just before they touch the ground, their bodies glowed a dim light and the light absorbed by Millennium Ring and Millenium Rod.

"No!" Yugi screamed as he run towards the ex-Thief King, "Papa!" he knelt beside Akefia's body and checked him, he sobbed when he found that Akefia had died, he look at Marik and saw that the ex-Assassin also gone from the world.

"Yugi." Atem called softly as he walked towards the boy, "I'm sorry I couldn't save him, we were all unable to move our body".

Yugi sobbed as he nodded before stood up and looked at the Pharaoh straight in the eyes, "I know." He said softly, "I'm just sad that I couldn't come sooner, if only I arrived sooner, then they wouldn't die." He then wiped his tears, "It's not the time to be sad yet." He said with a sigh before looking at the rest, "We have to get out, bring your Items with you, our battle had not end yet, we still have a war to win and an evil being to fight".

"Evil being?" Atem asked as he looked at Yugi seriously.

Yugi nodded, "You heard him earlier, right? That he would summon the God of Darkness?" he asked with the same level of seriousness, the nodded, "When I arrived, Akhunadin had placed the last Item into the Slate." He looked at the Slate, "I'm afraid that this God of Darkness already on his way, we have to prepare ourselves to fight him and we have to protect the people".

"I'm afraid that Yugi is right, My Pharaoh." Mahad's voice make them looked at him, "I can feel it, something evil and powerful is coming, we don't have much time".

Atem nodded, he walked to the Slate and took back his Pendant, he also took the Ring, Rod, and the Necklace with him. He turned around and started walking to his friends and Son, "Seth, Isis, take your Items." He said as he passed them the Items, he then turned to Mahad, "Mahad, you will take the Ring with you".

Mahad nodded and accepted the Ring and wear it, Atem nodded back and he also placed the Millennium Pendant's rope around his neck. Atem then turned to Yugi, who closed both Akefia's and Marik's eyes before stood up and looked at him, "Let's go." He said firmly, "I will help, and we will get them the proper burial after this mess taken care off".

Atem nodded, he noticed that Yugi was in his Mature Mode again, "Let's go." He agreed and he walked out, Seth, Mahad, Mana and Isis following behind him. Yugi turned to the Slate, he took the Millennium Key from the Slate and put it in his robe before following them out of the Temple.

Malik sighed as he looked at the far distance, at the direction Yugi took off earlier. "Worrying about Prince Yugi, Malik?" he turned around to see that Shimon was walking to him, the old man was too old to joined the war.

"Yes." Malik answered worriedly, "Yugi said that he had a feeling that something bad will happen, I'm scared".

"It's normal to be scared." Shimon said before he also looked at the distance, "War is never good, many bad things could happen, so it's alright to be scared".

"Mm." Malik nodded before he also looking out the balcony, but then his eyes widened when the sky, which had become a bit bright due to the dawn, now covered in darkness. "What?" he asked in fear, "What is this?".

Shimon narrowed his eyes, "I don't know, but it's not something good." He said before turning around, "Stay here, Malik, I will head out to help them." He walked to the door, "Maybe it's time for me to summon my Ka".

"Your Ka . . ." Malik mumbled in surprise, "The Exodia?" he asked slowly, "You mean, this something is really strong?" he asked in fear.

Shimon halted his step, "I can feel it, this something is very powerful, I have to help them." He said before continuing his walk to the stable to get horse.

"This is bad!" Atem gasped as he and the rest raced to the Palace, Yugi was flying with his wings while Atem and the rest on horses.

They had win the war with Akhunadin's army, but the sky had covered in darkness and a big, black, and ugly creature now make his slow walk to the Palace while destroying everything in it's path.

"Pharaoh!" Atem looked up to see who called him.

"Shimon?!" Atem asked when he saw that the figure in the distant was his Adviser and was riding a horse.

"I'm here to help!" Shimon answered before he looked at them, "Where's Marik, Akefia and Prince Yugi?" he asked when they met up.

Atem looked pained, "Akefia and Marik was killed by Akhunadin." He answered, "And Yugi is up above." He pointed at Yugi before the boy dive to them and floating beside Shimon.

"Shimon, here." Yugi said as he pulled out the Key from inside his robe and handed it to the old Adviser, Shimon's eyes widened but he accepted the Key, "I heard you were the previous owner of the Key".

Shimon nodded, "That's right." he confirmed before looking at the big creature, "Just the right Item I need to fight." he said before looking at the Pharaoh, "Pharaoh, I had evacuated everyone to the Palace, we need to defeat it before it reach the Palace".

Atem nodded before he looked at the rest, "Everyone who have Ka, summon them!" he ordered, "Those who don't have Ka, headed to the Palace and get something to attack it from the distance!".

They roared in agreement and followed Atem's order, even Akefia's underlings were doing as he said. Atem then turned to those nearer to him, which are Seth, Mahad, Mana, Isis, Kisara, Jono, Yugi and Shimon. "Mana, Kisara, you head to the Palace, send your Kas from there so your concentration wouldn't get disturbed." He ordered, Mana and Kisara nodded and left, "Prince Jono, please get back to the Palace, we couldn't let you get killed, so please do as I say".

Jono opened his mouth to speak but he ended up sighing and nodded, "Be sure to stay alive, Pharaoh." He said sternly, "Yugi just got you as his Father, I don't want him to lose you so soon".

"I will try as best as I can." Atem said with a nod, Jono nodded back and left, he then turned to the rest, "Let's go, we have to get closer to fight better." He said.

They headed to the Dark God, as they rode their horses, Atem activated his Dia Dhank. "Obelisk, Osiris, Ra!" He cried out, "Our Gods, please come and aid us in our battle!".

The wind blew harsher and the ground shake before 3 massive figures appeared, one of them was a big, long, red snake like Dragon with two mouths, the others are a big yellow bird that glowing a golden light and a big blue creature with human like figure. They were not really Gods, they were Divine Beasts, but most people believed them to be Gods under the control of the chosen Pharaoh, who was predicted to be Atem. Atem summoned out the Three Gods had proved that he was indeed the chosen Pharaoh.

Shimon gripped the Millenium Key and closed his eyes, "My faithful Ka, once again work with me to defeat this evil being." He said as the Key glowed brightly, "Come fort! My faithful servant, Exodia!".

The ground shake again as five big stone rise from the ground at five place and from the five stone tablets come out a big yellow creature with human like body, the creature was chained before it broke all the chains and start heading for the Dark God as well.

Yugi was still flying above them all and also heading for the Dark God, "Silver Moonlight Of The Night, Heed My Call." He spelled his Magic Incantation, he pulled out his darts, "Enchanted, Energy Blade." He use his Vampire Magic to wrapped his darts and make it formed like small swords, so it's like he had many throwing swords because he had many darts. He know that he had to stay alive no matter what, he was now the Prince of Egypt, so in case something happen to Pharaoh Atem, he had to stay alive so he could take over the Throne.

The Three Gods, The Exodia and the rest of the Ka like Black Dragon and White Dragon all attacked the Dark God. At first, it's looked like they were winning before the Dark God tore apart Exodia's hand, Shimon gritted his teeth as he use more of his Shadow Magic and give back Exodia's left hand.

"Pest!" The Dark God growled out before he sliced Exodia in halves.

Shimon gasped out in pain as Exodia turned to dust before he fell from his horse and not moving anymore, Atem saw this and baled his hands into fists, he lost the person who already like his own Grandfather, but he had to keep fighting or his Kingdom and the world would be destroyed.

Atem watched as the Three Gods fighting with the Dark God along with the rest of his people's Kas, he wasn't really familiar with the Three Gods power so he could only let them fight by their own. Atem's eyes widened when the Dark God using it's power to covered the Morning Sun, effectively covering the world in Darkness.

Atem gasped when the Dark God turned all his Gods into stone and destroyed them, he let out a strangled scream as he collapse on the ground while clutching his chest due to the pain he felt in his heart from the impact when the Three Gods turned to dust.

"Pharaoh!" Seth cried out in worry as he climbed down his horse and run to his Cousin.

After the Three Gods destroyed, the Dark God destroyed the other Kas, one by one the army and those who volunteered fell to their death. Yugi saw this, but he couldn't help much with his current power, he was still weak from recovering from the wound he received a week earlier. His wound might be nearly healed already, but it's because he use his Vampire Magic to fastened his healing process, if not then he would still lay in bed unable to move.

Yugi saw that Atem tried to stand so he dove to his Daddy and landed in front of him, "Daddy." He said as he grasped the Pharaoh's hand, "I couldn't help much, so please accept this." he said as he transferred his Magical Energy to the Pharaoh so he could continue fighting.

"Thank you, Yugi." Atem said as he felt stronger and could stand without Seth's help. He looked around and saw that his people had fallen one by one, he gritted his teeth. There must be a way to defeat this Dark God, he thought urgently, I have to think of something, or everyone would be annihilated!
