Hey guys! So I know it's been a while since I've done Loud 10 but I guess I just kinda forgot about it for a while as I've been getting into a lot of other things recently. Have a long list of thing I've been up too since the last time I updated it
Really this chapters been almost ready for quite a while now but I only just finished.
So hey I won't let you guys wait any longer. Hope you enjoy and thanks to Petrus for proof reading.
BOOM!
BOOM!
The thunder boomed hard around Royal Woods and gave a brief break to the rain that was pouring down on the town. There was hardly a dry spot left as Royal Woods experienced one of its biggest storms it's ever seen, outside of tornado warnings of course but thankfully it was still out of that territory.
And currently inside the Loud House, we see Lincoln setting up a gaming system. Putting a disc in it before plugging in two controllers. "Alright Clyde it's ready!" Lincoln called out with a smile as he picked up the player one controller and sat down on the couch. "Let's finally beat this game!"
"Just a second Linc!" Clyde answered from the dining room. The afro haired boy was currently on his phone talking to his dads. "Don't worry dads, I'll be fine I don't need any of that stuff for the night. Besides I don't want you guys to go out in this weather…uh-huh…uh-huh…awesome! Thanks dad! I love you! I'll call you before I go to bed," And with that, Clyde hung up the phone with a smile on his face.
Getting up off the chair he was on, he ran to the living room to tell Lincoln the good news. "Hey Linc, my dad's said I could stay the night here!" Clyde said with an excited grin on his face. "It'll be a Clincoln Mcloud sleepover,"
"Awesome! Man it's felt like forever since we've had one," Lincoln smiled fondly as Clyde sat down next to him. Clyde was pretty much the only one of his friends that was able to sleep over with him. Not because his parents disliked any of his other friends, but because none of his other friends could really handle all of his sisters being around. "Now we can finally beat Ace Savvy and the Gambler!"
"What level were we on again? I forgot," Clyde said as he picked up his controller, gripping it tightly. "It's been months since we played this game together."
"I think…we were on the final boss of level 6," Lincoln said after thinking about it for a bit. Nodding to himself, Lincoln remembered more of the details. "Yeah, yeah, it was when the Gambler took control of One Eyed Jack right?"
"Right! Now I remember!" Clyde snapped his fingers as it all came back to him. Especially with how emotional he ended up getting after learning that Ace Savvy's loyal side kick One Eyed Jack had fallen under control of the nefarious Gambler. "Don't worry One Eyed Jack! We'll free you! Although I gotta say I'm excited to see what our avatar's look like, I kinda for-"
BOOM!
BOOM!
"AH!" Clyde jumped in his seat as he heard the booming of the thunder outside as well as seeing the flashes of lightning.
"Geez, it's really coming down out there," Lincoln commented as he looked out the window to see all the rain coming down. The last time it rained this hard he and his sisters hunkered down in the basement because of a tornado. Closing the curtains, Lincoln hoped this was the worse the storm got. "Hard to believe there wasn't a cloud in the sky earlier. Eh, at least we're doing an indoor activity. Now let's get this show on the road!"
"Sounds good best buddy!" Clyde smiled after calming himself down.
Both best friends sat down next to each other and hovered their thumbs over the start button and in unison shouted. "Clincoln Mcloud start!" Both boys then hit the start button to officially begin the came.
As soon as they hit the start button, a cutscene started playing that was in a traditional comic book style. "Gambler!" It started with Ace Savvy, speaking in a typical heroic voice, yelling while pointing a finger at someone. "Tell me what you have done with my faithful partner One Eyed Jack!"
"Heheheh, well, well, well, who have we here?" A sly voice spoke up speaking in a 1930's accent. The next panel revealed a tall tin man wearing a purple suit. He had slick black hair pulled back and a thin mustache and a thin sharp goatee. This was none other than Ace Savvy's latest and greatest threat, the Gambler. "My, My, well if it isn't the big shot of the city himself Ace Savvy. Now I say what brings you here to my casino?"
"Your reign of terror ends you vile villain! Your days of stealing money from the people are over!" Ace Savvy dramatically yelled while shaking a fist at the villain. "Now return my partner to me at once!"
"Stealing? Why you offend me good sir. I'm merely letting them play a game of chance is all…and if they end up losing their money, or little more than that, then that's on them Hahaha." The Gambler laughed as he flipped a poker chip in his finger as he adjusted the die patterned tie he was wearing with his purple suit. "Just look at your little sidekick. He played my game…and paid the price for losing."
Just then another panel revealed One Eyed Jack, only he wasn't himself. He was wearing a security guard outfit instead of his usual super hero outfit. He wore sunglasses over his eye and eyepatch and just didn't seem like himself. "GASP! ONE EYED JACK!" Ace Savvy shouted dramatically as he looked at his partner in disbelief. "WHAT HAS HE DONE TO YOU!?"
"Why I didn't do a darn thing," Gambler grinned devilishly as he explained. "Like I said, he took a bet and he lost. Now he faithfully serves me, speaking of which Jack, would ya mind throwing out these loiterers? I got some business to attend to back at my tower,"
"As you wish Gambler," One Eyed Jack said in a monotonous robotic voice.
"Oh no! He's getting away!" Ace Savvy then looked towards to the screen, almost like he was looking right at Lincoln and Clyde. "As much as I hate to say this, but it looks like we're gonna have to get past One Eyed Jack if we're gonna reach the Gambler before he leaves! Come on new heroes! Let's deal out some justice!"
And so the boss battle with the controlled One Eyed Jack started and Lincoln and Clyde were able to see what their avatar's looked like once again. Lincoln and Clyde did their best to make their avatar's look just like them with Lincoln's avatar having white hair and green eyes, the outfit consisted of an orange skin tight suit with black gloves and a logo Lincoln made in customizations saying LL as well as a black cape. He also had a red utility belt and black boots and a mask similar to Ace Savvy's.
Clyde's avatar had the same skin tone and hair style as Clyde as well as glasses. His avatar's outfit consisted of an armored chest plate with a red jacket over it and white fingerless gloves. He also had black tights and bright blue boots as well as his own utility belt.
"Man I can't believe we have to fight One Eyed Jack," Clyde said as the boss fight started and he had to resist looking away as he and Lincoln started battling the controlled partner of Ace Savvy. "I know he's under the Gambler's control but still…"
"Don't worry bud we're gonna save him, we're only roughing him up a bit is all." Lincoln reassured Clyde as he kept his eyes focused on the game. Luckily it was easy to learn all the controls again once they started playing, just a typical beat em up but still fun nonetheless. As they were playing, Lincoln asked Clyde a question he's had on his mind for quite a bit. "So hey…how's the whole…energy thing been for ya lately?"
"Oh yeah, that," Clyde said a little softly as he looked at the special gloves on his hand that Lisa has made him. Truthfully Clyde had just been trying to forget about that whole thing ever since the…mutant incident. These strange powers he gained were nothing but a curse. "I've just been trying to not think about it that much. But they've been fine. These gloves your sister made have been helping me out with that and no issues so far,"
"Alright, good to hear," Lincoln nodded as he finished doing a combo against One Eyed Jack. "Have you ever thought of trying to…use em again? Gaining a bit of control over them?"
"I…don't know…" Clyde lowered his head to look at his controller, deep in thought. While he's been trying not to think about his powers…that thought did occur to him before. Especially at the magic convention when Hex and Charmcaster attacked. He really wanted to join the fight, help out his best friend and protect Penelope, but he knew he would only end up making things worse or just getting in the way. "I mean…I would like to…really…"
"Clyde."
"But what if I end up going…crazy again," Clyde stopped pushing the buttons of his controller and continued speaking about his inner turmoil about his strange powers. "I mean you remember how I was when I came back to Royal Woods. I was insane, I tried to hurt others and I tried to hurt my best friend…I was scared of myself and if it happens again what if I end up doing worse,"
"Clyde!"
"But on the other hand imagine the things I could do if I did master them," Clyde then smiled as he thought about the more positive end of how working with his strange powers could go. While he was worried about losing control of his abilities again it's possible he could do a lot of good with them. "I mean I could end up being a real superhero. Saving people and doing real good in the world and…and…"
"CLYDE!"
"Huh?" Clyde snapped out of his train of thought as Lincoln yelled and looked back up towards the screen, only to witness his Avatar getting absolutely demolished by One Eyed Jack due to him losing focus on the game. "Dang it! Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!"
"Player Two Knock Out!" The game said as One Eyed Jack finished off Clyde's avatar, leaving Lincoln alone to face down the controlled partner of Ace Savvy.
Lincoln quickly paused the game as soon as this happened and looked at Clyde in concern "You ok buddy?" Lincoln asked as he put a hand to Clyde's shoulders. "Kinda just zoned out there,"
"Yeah…Yeah I'm fine," Clyde said as he put down his controller and rubbed his head a little before giving Lincoln a guilty look. "Sorry about that though, now you gotta face One Eyed Jack on your own."
"Yeah…" Lincoln slowly nodded his head…before looking at the Omnitrix on his wrist. Suddenly an idea game into Lincoln's head and the white head smirked as he hopped off the couch. "Or maybe not~" Clyde rose a brow as Lincoln activated the Omnitrix and was soon blinded by a flash of green light. "Upgrade!" Now standing in front of Clyde was Lincoln's techno organic form.
"Check this out!" Upgrade said as he walked over to the gaming console and proceeded to merge with it. Clyde looked to the screen and watched with widened eyes as the health bar of his character was filled up completely, even the health bar of Lincoln's character was filled up as well. "And to top it off…" Upgrade then unpaused the game and proceeded to lower One Eyed Jack's health to zero, instantly defeating him.
"Woah! That's so cool!" Clyde grinned as he looked at Upgrade. "You're actually controlling the game!"
"I can't believe I never tried this before!" Upgrade excitedly said as he poked his head out of the game console. "It kinda just came to me but I didn't think it would actually work. Just think of all the possibilities now!"
"Ok kid you had your fun but maybe you shouldn't mess with any electronics right now. The storm outside's getting crazy and who knows what that could do,"
"Oh just relax Ra'ad, what's the worst that can happen?" Upgrade shrugged off the warning, not thinking too much about it. "Hey Clyde check this out." Just then Clyde watched as the scores of him and Lincoln were rose all the way to the max 9,999,999 as the cutscene played out, neither boy paying much attention to it. "New world records baby!"
"Heheheh, ok, ok, but maybe you should turn them back to normal," Clyde told Lincoln with a small smile as he picked up his controller again. "As cool as this is I rather play the game fair and square."
"Alright, alright, but let me just do one more thing…" Upgrade said as-
BOOOOM!
Suddenly from outside, a bolt of lightning directly struck the satellite dish attached to the roof of the house. Before either boys knew it, a surge of electrical energy came through the plug and towards the console with Upgrade still inside it. The TV flashed similar to the lightning and in an instant both boys were gone.
The sound of techno music was heard all throughout as neon lights flashed throughout tall buildings. Various billboards in the background advertising things from made up soda and chip brands as well as the Gambler's new Casino in Card City. There were hover cars driving around as well as hover trash cans and streetlights.
Suddenly beams of light appeared in the middle of the road and from them appeared Upgrade and Clyde, only Clyde wasn't in his normal outfit. Instead he was wearing the outfit his avatar wore in the game. Clyde blinked a bit as Upgrade rubbed his head as they looked around taking in their new surroundings. "Woah where are we?" Clyde asked as he looked up at the sky. "I remember a flash of lightning and then the TV did something weird,"
"Wait a second, look around." Upgrade said as he examined everything about their new location. "Techno music, futuristic buildings, everything hovering off the ground. Dude, we're in New Cribbage City!"
"But wait, that's in the Ace Savvy world," Clyde slowly said as the glasses wearing boy slowly started to realize what was going on. And after looking at what he was wearing, it pretty much confirmed his suspicions. "That can only mean…we're in the game!"
"When that lightning hit the house, it must have reacted strangely with the game console since I was in it!" Upgrade explained as both boys started to walk around a bit and explore more of the game world. "It zapped us in the game!"
"…THIS IS SO COOL!" Both Upgrade and Clyde said in unison, with the latters eyes practically sparkling.
"I've always dreamed about going in a video game and now that dream's come true!" Clyde gleefully said as he and Upgrade now started to run around without a care in the world. "Oh man I've never felt so alive!"
"Well glad you two are having fun but maybe you should focus on trying to get out now! Oh, and Lincoln, I told you so!"
"Pfft, relax Ra'ad what's the rush?" Upgrade shrugged off Ra'ad's suggestion. What was the big deal? They were inside the freaking Ace Savvy game, this was something to celebrate. Practically every kids dreamed of being in a video game at least once. "Let's take some time to enjoy ourselves, besides what's the worst that could happen now?"
Right after Upgrade said that, a blimp hovered over Upgrade and Clyde. It was a big purple blimp with the Gambler's logo on the side. The windows of the blimp opened up and jumping out of them and in front of the best friend duo were a bunch of strong looking thugs of various sizes, all wearing leather jackets that had the Gambler's logo on it.
"I'd really wish you'd stop saying that…"
"What these guys? They're just Spade Thugs," Upgrade shrugged it off as he took a battle stance. "This is level one stuff, come on Clyde let's show these guys whose the boss."
"You got it Lincoln!" Clyde said with a smirk as both he and Upgrade charged at the thugs.
For Upgrade, instincts took over as he extended his arms at two thugs and completely covered their bodies with himself and sparks flew out and as Upgrade let them go the thugs instantly disappeared and points appeared. "Woah…" Upgrade said in an impressed tone. Narrowing his eye at one of the bigger higher-level legs, Upgrade flung himself towards the thug and completely took over the thug's body and used it to fling and easily beat up the other smaller thugs before unmerging with the big thug and making it disappear. "Hah! This isn't a game it's a slaughter fest!"
With Clyde, his bravado vanished a bit as a bunch of thugs ran in front of him. But suddenly something in Clyde snapped and he jumped up and flipped over a thug and kicked him in the head before landing in front of another thug and preforming a punch combo on their chest before ducking under another thug's attack and axe kicking them in the chin before spinning kick two thugs off their feet. "Holy shamoly!" Clyde let out as all the thugs he took down disappeared and turned into points. "I have no idea how I did that but I ain't complaining!"
"It must be the game!" Upgrade pointed out as he finished off two more thugs. "Whatever powers our characters have we must have! Only more of a reason to love this!"
"And since you control the entire game as Upgrade, we're practically unstoppable," Clyde grinned as another wave of thugs showed up. Clyde smirked as he looked up at Upgrade and gestured to the new wave. "You wanna do the honors?"
"Why you're too kind my friend," Upgrade said in a fake gentlemen's accent before aiming his face at the wave. Suddenly his face circle glowed and Upgrade shot out a large orange beam he spread out throughout the entire wave, finishing them off in seconds. "Aw yeah! That's what happens when you mess with Clincoln Mcloud."
"Ok, you kids had your fun. Now how about you leave the game now before you-"
Cutting Ra'ad off was the Omnitrix symbol on Upgrade beeping red and with a flash of red light, Upgrade turned back into Lincoln with the Loud boy wearing the outfit of his avatar character. "Dang it," wrist to make sure the Omnitrix was still there, and luckily it was. It just merged with the glove of his avatar's outfit. "Guess the God mode fun is over,"
"We should be fine without Upgrade right?" Clyde asked with a bit of a worried tone. He was sure he and Lincoln could get out of this situation themselves but still, he wanted to make sure. "I mean, how are we gonna get out of the game? I mean being here is awesome but I rather not be stuck here forever. Me and my dads have a cooking class tomorrow."
"Eh it shouldn't be too much of an issue," Lincoln smiled as he gestured to the Omnitrix. "We just gotta wait for the watch to recharge and then I'll just go Upgrade again and boom, we're out of here." However Lincoln's smile fell as he looked at the Omnitrix and saw that instead of the normal red it was when in recharge mode, it was a dull gray. "That's…odd…" Lincoln then tried to click the buttons on the Omnitrix but instead of the normal powered down sound he just got clicking sounds. "Oh man don't tell me this thing is busted again,"
"So wait…we're stuck in here…and your watch is broken?" At this news Clyde started to panic a little while rapidly looking around the futuristic city they were now stuck in. "D-Does that mean w-w-we're gonna be stuck h-here forever?"
"Clyde, Clyde, just relax," Lincoln slapped his hands in front of Clyde to get him to calm down. "Look, we're gonna be fine. We're Ace Savvy pros remember? We can get through this easily. Best scenario the watch fixes itself and I go Upgrade again and get us out of this, and worst scenario we just beat the game. I watched a movie like this once, a bunch of people get stuck in a game and to get out they just beat it. Simple as that,"
"Yeah I saw the same movie," Clyde nodded his head, his expression still one of worry. "I also remember them saying then if you die in the game you die for real!"
"Look Clyde, we're gonna be ok. If we're gonna get out of this we can't panic, ok?" Lincoln slowly told his friend in order to try and get his nerves under control. If they wanted any chance of getting out of the game, and if Clyde really wanted to get in control of his powers in the real world, he was gonna have to learn to not be quick to panic and worry about stuff. Keeping your cool under pressure was the most important thing after all. "We just need to be careful, fight smart, and not get distracted and we'll get through this whole thing in no time."
"…Ok…Ok…I can do this…" Clyde started taking deep breaths while lightly slapping his face to try and get himself focused and putting on his game face. "I can do this! I can do this!"
"That's the spirit!" Lincoln slightly slapped Clyde on his back with a big grin on his face. "We're Clincoln Mcloud! We can do anything!"
"Alright then, so we're on the first part of level seven and there are ten levels with three parts and a mini boss after the first part of the level and the third level ending in a boss fight, with the tenth level being just the boss fight against The Gambler." Clyde put his head to it as he tried to think of the best way to go about this since he was thinking clearly now. Lincoln was right, he had to keep his eye on the ball and they would make it out of this. "But I remember reading something from the manual that might be able to help us out!"
"Wait really?" Lincoln asked in a surprised tone. "Huh, guess those things are useful for something. Well what is it?"
"At the end of the third part of this level you can find a secret boss and if we beat him, we gain instant access to the final level!" Clyde revealed making Lincoln gasp. If they beat that fight then they can go right on to fight the Gambler and get out of the game after beating him. "And if I remember correctly the secret boss shoulder be located somewhere in the subway station,"
"Well then what are we waiting for! Let's go find this secret boss!" Lincoln said as he punched his fist into an open palm. "Now where do we go from here…" Just then the word go appeared in pixels with an arrow below it pointing them where to go. "Oh, never mind. Come on let's move!"
And so the two boys went down the streets of New Cribbage City with the occasional group of thugs spawning in. Luckily with their new video game powers they were easily able to handle all the enemies that stood in their way. And due to pure force of habit they also destroyed every single trash can, mail box, and car they come across to earn bonus points as well as start to fill up their super meters.
"Oh hey Clyde! Check this out!" Lincoln grinned as a group of thugs approached him. He looked at his belt and saw two of the four sections of it glowed with some form of energy. "Our belts show us our super meter! Hey, I'm gonna try one!" With an excited expression, Lincoln clapped his hands and one of the bars on his belt dimmed. "Card tower!"
Lincoln stuck both of his hands out and suddenly giant cards formed in them that he threw into the air. The cards formed themselves into a large tower that, as soon as it was built, suddenly fell right on top of the thugs and instantly defeated them. "THAT WAS AWESOME!" Lincoln yelled as the tower disappeared. "You try yours Clyde!"
"Ok, ok, oh boy let's give it a go," Now it was Clyde getting excited as he clapped his hands like Lincoln. One of the bars of energy on Clyde's belt disappeared as the glasses wearing boy suddenly flew into the air and waved his hands around causing storm clouds to appear. "Rain of Diamonds!" Clyde yelled as a bunch of diamond cards rain out of the clouds he created that damaged all the thugs and other items on the ground as they hit them. "Ok this is back to being the best day of my life again!"
"Come on! I think I see the end of the level over there!" Lincoln said as he pointed towards the largest tower in the city. It was pretty easy to tell that this was where the level was taking them. The tower of New Cribbage was a stable of the Ace Savvy franchise, around since near the beginning of the series. "Alright we gotta get ready for the mini boss, could be anything and we can't afford to screw up,"
"Ok Clyde…you can do this…" Clyde took a deep breath as he and Lincoln headed towards the tower. The mini boss could be anything, they could even end up fighting One Eyed Jack again. Clyde already had trouble doing that with a controller, he wasn't sure if he could handle actually doing it himself. "Just calm and collected like Lincoln said,"
And so both boys stood in front of the tower and just…waited. And waited. And waited some more. "So…" Lincoln awkwardly said as he looked around, finding a few trashcans and a mail box near the streets next to the building. "When do you think it's gonna show-LOOK OUT!"
Lincoln quickly pushed himself and Clyde out of the way as something suddenly fell out of the sky. Crashing down where the boys were previously standing appeared to be a giant slot machine with The Gambler's Logo on it. The machine simply stood there for a moment before it suddenly shook and abunch of spider like legs sprouted from under the machine allowing it to stand up. A pair of arms with comically large hands from out of the sides appeared and finally a head resembling The Gambler's face appeared out of the top. "Hope ya boys are ready to lose it all! Hahahah!" The machine's robotic voice laughed before pulling the large lever on itself, making the three slots start spinning.
"A walking slot machine, ok this should be interesting," Lincoln said as he helped Clyde stand back up. "Clyde what'd the manual say about this guy?"
"It's the Web-Slotter, one of The Gambler's robots," Clyde explained as he remembered what he read in the manual. "He's invincible when the slots are spinning, but when they stop spinning he stops moving and can be hurt and whatever effect the slots stop on happens, and his arms and legs and body have separate health bars."
"Ok then, here's the plan." Lincoln started forming a plan in his head as they watched the Web-Slotter walk all around the place, even scaling nearby walls. "We go for its body parts first and we'll split up the work, you go for the legs I'll handle the arms and then we attack the main body together."
"Break!" Both boys said in unison as they split up from each other right as the Web-Slotter charged at them at high speeds.
Right after charging, the slots on the Web-Slotter stopped with all three of them landing on a picture of a cartoon bomb. "Bomb-O-Rama!" The machine yelled as it stopped in place and crouch down. "We're gonna have a blast!" Suddenly two cannons appeared next to the head of the Web-Slotter aimed up at the sky. Multiple bombs shot out of the machine and into the sky, the bombs falling down to the ground after a few seconds.
"Quick! Before the slots start spinning again!" Lincoln yelled as he and Clyde tried to run towards the machine as bombs exploded all around them. Though there was a few close calls both boys managed to reach the machine and started nailing on its various limbs. Clyde quickly started up a kick combo on all the spider legs on the machine as Lincoln started to rapidly jab and upper cut the left arm of the machine.
All the while the bombs kept falling and exploding, even blowing up the nearby objects. As one of the trash cans blew up suddenly a familiar sound hit Lincoln's ears…the sound of the Omnitrix activating. Lincoln quickly stopped attacking the arms and looked in the direction of the noise and found floating on the sidewalk what looked to be an Omnitrix icon with the silhouette of a very familiar alien. "Hey wait…" Lincoln's eyes widened as he focused on the power up. "That looks like Four-Arms!"
"Let's spin it again!" Lincoln failed to pay attention as the Web-Slotter shook both him and Clyde off its body and started up its slots again and quickly began to move around at high speeds.
"Quick Lincoln!" Clyde yelled to his best friend as he pointed towards the Omnitrix icon. "Go get it!"
Lincoln wasted no time and ran after the icon and once he grabbed it Lincoln was covered in a green flash. "Alright! Four-Arms!" Four-Arms yelled out as he flexed his muscles and soon noticed the new outfit on him. Four Arm's new outfit consisted of a skin-tight blue bodysuit decorated with a red symbol that somewhat resembles a "Y," designed with a white diamond at its center, with white lines connected to it that trace from his chest to his back shoulders; the lines trimmed with the aforementioned red symbol. The symbol appeared to have wings on the side that ran from atop his torso before ending around his back, over which was a similar red and white design absent of the white diamond. Large white patches lined with red-covered each side of his hips before ending at his lower thighs, and he wore a gold belt that had a silver buckle with red eyes. His forearm sleeves were colored in gold that each had white lines covered in blue accents over his wrists, and had spiked fins on the sides of his arms, his feet were covered in shin-length gold boots trimmed with white and red accents. "Wow! Check out the new duds! I look awesome huh Ra'ad?"
"…"
"Huh? Ra'ad?" Four-Arms tapped his head a few times to get a response from the Amperi in his head. "You there?" But there was still no response. "Aw man don't tell me you disappeared again. Why does this keep happening?"
"Lincoln! Heads up!" Clyde yelled, getting Four-Arm's attention.
Four-Arms looked to see the Web-Slotter charging right at him. But instead of dodging, Four-Arms stood his ground and planted his feet down firmly. "Alright, ya want a piece of me? Then came and get me!" Four-Arms yelled as he held all of his hands out and managed to catch the Web-Slinger by both of his arms. "Ha! Not so tough anymore huh?"
Right at Four-Arms said that the slots on the robot stopped, all of them showing pictures of a mirror. "Mirror Match!" The robot yelled as two more arms suddenly sprouted from the machine, now matching Four-Arms amount of limbs. "I'm afraid you've met your match boy! Hahaha!"
"Oh yeah? Wanna bet?" Four-Arms yelled as he got into a power struggle with the robot. Four-Arms four hands met with the hands of the Web-Slotter and both pushed against each other to gain the upper hand. But while the machine matched Four-Arms in limbs, it didn't match him in another attribute. "RAAAAHHH!" Four-Arms yelled as he let out a burst of strength and managed to push The Gambler's robot all the way to the wall. "You may have the arms but you don't have the strength! Come on Clyde let's rush him!"
"CHAAARGE!" Clyde dramatically yelled as both he and Four-Arms simply nailed the robot while it was stunned, with all of Four-Arms blows being heavy and dealing massive damage.
BOOM!
BOOM!
With two explosions the Web-Slotter's arms and legs were all broken off, leaving just the slot machine and head remaining and even those looked beat up. "That's what happens when ya mess with Clincoln Mcloud!" Four-Arms yelled as he and Clyde shared a fist bump. "What are you gonna do now huh tough guy?"
As if to answer his question the slots of the machine started spinning, though only for a few seconds as each slot landed on something different.
Self
Destruct
Come Play Again!
The machine began making a ticking sound and shaking as it got ready to blow sky high, and hopefully take Four-Arms and Clyde along with it. "Ah! We're gonna be blown to smithereens! Run for it!" Clyde yelled as he and Four-Arms immediately started running away…only to end up running right into thin air in the progress. "Huh? Ah dang it! An invisible wall! Curse you games that don't allow you to back track!"
"Quick Clyde get behind me!" Four-Arms yelled as Clyde quickly ducked for cover behind Four-Arms as the big red alien crossed all his arms in front of him defensively. "This is gonna hurt!"
And just when it seems he'd be taking the full power of the explosion…
"No need to fear sidekicks! Leave it to me to deal out some justice!" Suddenly Clyde and Four-Arms gasped as they heard an all too familiar voice echo around them. Looking up, they saw a silhouette standing on top of a nearby building. The figure then jumped up and leapt towards the self-destructing machine while holding his fist out. "The King of Punches!"
The figure then punched right through the machine easily, his whole body going through it. The machine stopped ticking and completely powered down, breaking apart and becoming useless. Eventually it completely disappeared followed by a big point bonus. Four-Arms and Clyde were silent as they watched the figure stand up and turning around, revealing who they were…
Ace Savvy himself.
"Well that was certainly a close one," Ace Savvy smiled brightly as he spoke to Four-Arms and Clyde with his heroic voice. "Glad to see your safe sidekicks, you played your card's well against The Gamblers nefarious machine!"
"Clyde…Clyde…" Four-Arms lightly shook Clyde with a stunned expression. It was taking all of his will power not to fanboy to the maximum right now. "Is that who I think it is…"
"Yes…Yes it is…" Clyde was on the verge of hyperventilating as he eyed the superhero in front of him. Forget going inside a video game, meeting the real Ace Savvy is a real dream come true. "It's Ace Savvy!"
"You better believe it's me sidekicks," Ace Savvy nodded his head before pointing inside the building that the robot was guarding. "Now come on! We haven't time to lose! Who knows what evil deeds The Gambler is committing this very second! We can't afford to fold!"
"Eeeeeee!" Four-Arms and Clyde squealed like fanboys as they followed Ace Savvy into the second part of the level.
As soon as they entered, the Omnitrix symbol on Four-Arms started to beep red and a bright flash of light that briefly blinded both Clyde and Ace Savvy the muscular alien turned back to Lincoln. "Huh?" Ace Savvy let out as he witnessed Lincoln's true form replace the one he was just in. "Say, how did you do that?"
"Uh, well I guess you can say it's sorta my super power," Lincoln summarized it for his hero with a bit of a sheepish smile. "It's a long story."
"So wait since the watch is working again can you turn into Upgrade and get us out of the game?" Clyde asked as Ace turned his head to Clyde and rose a brow. "I know we just met Ace Savvy but…"
"Game?" Ace Savvy asked in a confused tone.
"I…don't think it's gonna be this easy Clyde, look," Lincoln pointed out as he activated the Omnitrix and showed it to Clyde. The icon for Four-Arms was now there…but when he turned it all he got were blank slots. Four-Arms was the only alien he had access to right now. "I think the rest of my aliens ended up like Four-Arms, hidden power ups in the levels. Meaning that if I want to go Upgrade I have to find the Upgrade icon. But that can be in any of the worlds and in any of the levels in those worlds."
"And we can't go back, only forward." Clyde muttered as he ran a hand through his hair. Looks like they had to stick to the original plan. "Guess we just better stick to our plan on finding the secret boss and beating the game."
"Excuse me sidekicks," Ace Savvy spoke up, getting the boys attention. "But what game are you talking about? This hardly seems a time to play games,"
"Well you know, this game," Lincoln explained to Ace Savvy while gesturing all around him. "The game world me and Clyde were sucked-"
"Wait Lincoln," Clyde pulled Lincoln closer to him so he could whisper to his best friend. "I don't think he realizes he's in a game. He thinks this is all real."
"Ooooooh…" Lincoln nodded his head, quickly understanding why Ace Savvy was confused about this. "I guess I didn't realize that."
"So maybe let's not tell him," Clyde suggested. The last thing he wanted to do was shatter the great hero in the world's reality. He knew that if he was told his entire world was fictional, he would be pretty broken up about it and probably grow either incredibly insane or depressed or both. "I don't think this is a good time to break it to him and that everything he knows is just a bunch of ones and zeroes,"
"Yeeeeah, probably smart," Lincoln nodded before clearing his throat and looking up to Ace Savvy again. "We, uh…mean this vile game The Gambler is forcing us to play! That villainous scum!"
"Oh of course! Apologizes I should have understood that," Ace Savvy's flawless smile was back as he pointed towards the halls of the building that had tons of offices inside it. "Quick, we have to make it to the roof of this building and make it to the helicopter above! But beware, The Gambler's spies could be anywhere! Especially that one person playing Galaga while he should be working!"
"Well let's get going then!" Lincoln said as the three of them went forward.
Back in the real world a pleasant humming could be heard as Leni walked out of the kitchen with a smoothie in hand. Taking a few sips, Leni smiled as she looked at the drink in hand. "Mmmmmm, the dragon fruit pear smoothie is a big win!" Leni smiled before the sounds of a video game hit her ears. Looking at the TV, she saw one of Lincoln's games on and saw two characters that resembled Lincoln and Clyde and Ace Savvy fighting what looked like…office workers? She'll never understand video games. "Hey Lincoln! Clyde! You left your game on!"
"…" But Leni didn't receive an answer.
"Lincoln! Clyde!" Leni called out again as she peaked inside the dining room to see if they were there. When they weren't there, she checked the kitchen despite just being there, but she didn't see them there either. "Huh…where are those boys?"
"Hey Leni is that you?" The basement door opened up with Ja'Orre coming through. "Do you know if any of your parents are home someone's selling a Johnny Cash CD collection and I wanna use one of their cards to order it before I get sniped."
"Nah they're out today, hopefully not for long though that storm out there is awful," Leni said as she looked outside to see that it was still coming down as hard as ever. Leni then turned to Ja'Orre and asked. "Hey have you seen Lincoln and Clyde anywhere? They left their game on and I can't seem to find em,"
"Nope, haven't seen em all day," Ja'Orre answered before looking at the game. "Man that Clyde looking guy is really beating the crap outta that copy machine."
Meanwhile back in the game world…
"WHY CLYDE?!" Lincoln yelled as he was struggling to fend off a horde of office workers that all had demonic looking faces. "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!"
"I DIDN'T KNOW THIS WOULD HAPPEN!" Clyde said as he tried his best to run and avoid being hit "IT WAS JUST A COPY MACHINE WHY ARE THEY ACTING LIKE THIS!?"
"YOU BROKE THEIR COPY MACHINE! NOW THEY CAN'T GET ANY OF THEIR WORK DONE!" Ace Savvy yelled dramatically as he punched a few office workers away. "NOTHING'S WORSE THAN OFFICE WORKERS WHO CAN'T GET THEIR WORK DONE!"
"ARRGH!" Lincoln grunted as he was kicked into a nearby water cooler that was destroyed after he made contact with it. But as it disappeared Lincoln once again heard the sound of the Omnitrix activating and looked behind him to see an Omnitrix icon with a silhouette of Heatblast on it. "Alright! Time to turn up the heat!"
Lincoln then grabbed the Heatblast icon and in an instant a green flash covered Lincoln and when it died down in its place was a familiar fire alien. "Heatblast!" The transformed Loud boy yelled out as he looked over himself to see if Heatblast had a different look like Four-Arms did. And sure enough it did, Heatblast was actually wearing clothes for once! His outfit consisted of a black leather jacket with spikes on the shoulders, black leather gloves, a black leather belt with black leather pants and a pair of black leather boots. "Huh, I look pretty good in leather. Alright everyone stand back!"
Heatblast then held his arms out in front of all the angry office workers and shot flames out of his hands and at all the enemies and after just a few seconds all of them disappeared with points appearing in their place. "Huh, well that was easy," Clyde couldn't help but chuckle. Just a few seconds ago they were struggling to handle the crowd and now Heatblast was able to instantly deal with them. "From now on I'll keep my hands off copying machines,"
"A smart idea sidekick," Ace Savvy nodded before looking at Heatblast, glancing over the transformed white head before smirking and nodding. "Well you're just full of surprises aren't you side kick,"
"What can I say, I aim to please." Heatblast said with a smirk of his own.
"Well now that that's taken care of we can-" But as Ace Savvy was talking he suddenly froze. And it wasn't just him, everything in the game world froze. Even Heatblast and Clyde.
"Hey…what's going on…" Heatblast asked as he tried to move around, but other than his mouth he couldn't even move an inch. "I can't move!"
"So should we just turn it off? What if they come back?"
"Hey, that sounded like Leni," Clyde said as he and Heatblast heard the 16-year-olds voice pretty much all around them.
"Saving electricity is important Leni! Besides all games auto save these days…probably."
"And that was Ja'Orre!" Heatblast said before his eyes widened at what the ghost alien said. "And they're gonna shut off the game!"
"Wait, what'll happen to us if they do that?!" Clyde asked as he instantly starting panicking again. "What if we completely disappear from existence?!"
"Well let's not find out!" Heatblast could honestly say he was in the same state as Clyde. Who knows what would happen if the game turned off with them still inside and quite frankly he didn't want to know! "LENI! JA'ORRE! DON'T TURN OFF THE GAME!"
"Hey wait did you hear that?" Back in the real-world Leni looked around as she swore she heard what seemed to be the voice of Heatblast. But he had no idea what happened to them.
"IT'S US! LINCOLN AND CLYDE!" Clyde shouted now that they had at least Leni's attention. "WE'RE INSIDE THE GAME! DON'T TURN OFF THE CONSOLE!"
"Wait, inside the game?" Leni and Ja'Orre said in unison as they looked at the TV screen and gasped. They merely glanced at the avatars in the game and thought they simply looked like Lincoln and Clyde, probably how they customized them. But when they actually stopped to look at the characters in the game, one of the avatars actually was Clyde and there was no mistaking the other one was Heatblast.
"Wait, that is you two!" Leni yelled out as she looked in between Heatblast and Clyde. "But how did this happen?"
"W-Well…I was kinda messing around with the game as Upgrade," Heatblast sheepishly admitted to his own mistake. "Then this bolt of lightning struck the house and it suddenly sucked me and Clyde into the game and now we gotta get to the final boss so we can beat him and hopefully get out!"
"Ooooooh, it's like Jumangi!" Ja'Orre shouted out with an amused tone.
"Oh that's what the movies called," Clyde followed up as both he and Heatblast finally remembered the movie they mentioned earlier. "I forgot. But yeah it's pretty much that! S-So please don't turn it off! You could erase us!"
"Just unpause the game so we can get through the level!" Heatblast asked.
"Alright, good luck you two. You better get out safe and sound," Leni told them firmly before picking up Lincoln's controller and unpausing the game. Once that was done, she looked at the table and hummed as she saw a manual for the game. Picking it up, the fashionista turned to Ja'Orre. "Looks like we got some reading to do,"
"-Make our way to the secret underground chamber beneath this building!" Ace-Savvy finished up his sentence as soon as Leni unpaused the game. Right as he finished the super hero blinked a few times before rubbing his head. "Strange, I feel a headrush for some reason,"
"Well which way is the underground chamber?" Heatblast asked…before the ground started to shake and a secret trap door opened up with the word "GO" appearing above it as well as an arrow pointing into the hole. "Ya know, I wish real life was a video game. Everything's so much more convenient."
"Let's go!" Clyde yelled as he Heatblast, and Ace Savvy jumped down into the hole.
Everything was black for a moment until the new level loaded around the heroes. They entered an area which could best be described as an underground gambling ring filled with NPC's doing things from playing poker to rolling dice or just enjoying an adult beverage. "It seems we've come to a split in the pathway sidekicks," Ace Savvy said as they went forward and saw two pathways. One pathway led to what looked like a subway station and the other way went through the underground chamber. "It seems you'll have to make a choice. Will you join me through this cesspool of scum and villainy or will you try the subway to get right to the Gambler."
"Which way is the secret boss?" Heatlblast asked Clyde.
"We're gonna have to take the subway," Clyde said with a small frown as he looked up at Ace Savvy. "But are you sure you can't join us? We really need you,"
"I'm sorry sidekicks, but I must go on my own," Ace Savvy said with a soft smile as he kneeled down and put a hand on Clyde's shoulder. "The Gambler has his locations all over and someone has to deal with them, plus I have to rescue One Eyed Jack from his clutches!"
"I can understand that," Heatblast nodded, while he wanted Ace Savvy to continue with them as well and helping them out but if he needed to go to help his partner then Heatblast wasn't gonna try and stop that. "I know if anyone took any of my friends or sisters I'd do anything to get them back."
"Then you're a very good hero and brother," Ace Savvy complimented Heatblast before looking at the two boys and giving them his signature heroic smile. "Besides you have nothing to worry about sidekicks, I've watched as you two grow as you've taken out The Gambler's plans and schemes. You're both stronger than either of you think, if anyone can defeat the Gambler it's you."
"You…You really mean that?" Clyde asked with a whispered voice, he almost felt like crying over Ace Savvy's words.
"I do," Ace Savvy puffed out his chest before pointing down the path that led deeper into the unground chamber. "I'll meet you at the Gambler's liar as soon as I can. Good luck sidekicks, go deal out some justice!"
And with that, Ace Savvy advanced forward leaving the two friends on their own. "Well, we better get a move on." Heatblast said as he pointed in the direction of the subway. "Don't wanna keep The Gambler waiting do we?"
"Hehe, guess not," Clyde said with confidence in his voice that surprised even him. Ace Savvy's words kept replaying in his head and it seemed to light a fire inside him. "Come on! We gotta take him down!"
And so the two headed down the path that led to the subway. Upon reaching the entrance, they were confronted by a shady looking man wearing a trench coat and a matching head with his entire face covered in shadow. "You two kids got a ticket?" The man said as he blocked the two from progressing. "Not allowed to ride without a ticket,"
"Uuuuuh…" Heatblast and Clyde awkwardly looked at each before looking to the man and slowly nodding their heads.
"…Ok then," The shady man then stepped to the side as the subway door opened. "Go on,"
"Oh, uh, thanks," Heatblast said as he and Clyde entered the subway train.
And as they went inside, the shady figure pulled a phone out of his pocket and put to his ear. "Hey, get me the boss," He said into the device. "I got something he's gonna wanna hear,"
"Soooo…" Heatblast said awkwardly as he looked around the empty subway car. There didn't seem to be anything else inside other than them. Not a single NPC on the seat. "Where's the secret boss supposed to be?"
"I don't know, the manual never said what it would be," Clyde said as he awkwardly looked around. It was eerily quiet. There wasn't even any background music. "I thought that one guy outside was gonna be the boss? Maybe it'll just spawn or something…"
After a few moments of silence suddenly the door leading into the next car opened up with someone stepping outside. He appeared to be a normal old man with a big beard wearing a subway workers uniform. "Tickets please," He said while looking right at Heatblast and Clyde.
"…You got a ticket?" Heatblast asked Clyde, only getting a shrug in response from his friend. Heatblast sighed before getting up and walking up to the Tickets Please Guy. "Ok look, uh, Tickets Please Guy, we don't have a ticket but maybe we could work something-" But Heatblast was cut off as the Tickets Please Guy suddenly glared at him and punched Heatblast in the face with enough force to send him flying to the other end of the subway car. "AH! Son of a gun what the heck?!"
"Tickets please," The Tickets Please Guy asked with a much fiercer voice as he looked to Clyde and walked towards him.
"God that hurt!" Heatblast yelled as he rubbed the spot that was punched. "Oh don't tell me he's the secret boss!"
And to make matters worse the Tickets Please Guy ripped off the shirt of his uniform and showed off his surprisingly muscular body. "Ah! The Tickets Please Guy is jacked!" Clyde screamed in terror as the Tickets Please Guy glared down at him. "Please don't hurt me! I swear I'll find a ticket!" Clyde then held his hands out and-
Ding!
"Ah there we go," Clyde dared to open his eyes after hearing the Tickets Please Guy said that. But when he did look he was surprised to see a pixelated purple ticket with the word ticket on it floating in his hands. The Tickets Please Guy calmed down again and took the ticket, the pixelated ticket disappearing once he took it. "Enjoy the subway,"
And with that the Tickets Please Guy peacefully left. A flash of red light was seen after wards and Lincoln walked up to Clyde in his human form while still rubbing his cheek. "Wait so you DID have a ticket?" Lincoln asked in a bit of an irritated expression. He could have avoided getting punch by the buffest old man in the world if Clyde just revealed he had that ticket. "What the heck man?"
"I-I swear I don't know how I…" But Clyde's eyes then widened as he suddenly remembered something. "Wait, wait, wait, I remember now! The shop in world 5!"
"What about it?" Lincoln asked as he sat down next to Clyde.
"I used the coins we collected from the first three worlds to buy the ticket from the shop there!" Clyde broke out in a grin. He bought the ticket with all their coins instead of buying a bunch of other stuff because he was sure it would be important for something! And it looks like he was right. "I knew that would pay off! I knew it!"
"Ooooooh, now I remember," Lincoln nodded his head as he leaned back in his seat. "I was mad at first because I wanted to get the health upgrades instead but hey it looks like you were right to buy that ticket, nice call buddy,"
"Thanks Lincoln," Clyde said in a grateful tone. "Does feel a bit anti-climactic thought don't you think?"
"Yeah well it's either being anti-climatic or fighting the world's strongest old man," Lincoln grumbled as he rubbed his still sore face. "I know what I'm choosing,"
"…Ok fair point," Clyde and Lincoln then started to relax as the subway began to take them all the way to the final boss fight against the nefarious Gambler.
THE GAMBLERS LIAR
"My, my, now ain't this quite the interesting play…" The Gambler grinned devilishly while fiddling with a pair of dice between his fingers. His plans for taking over the city had been going flawlessly, he had Ace Savvy on the ropes and even took control of his side kick One Eyed Jack. Everything was going in his favor…until those two new heroes appeared. Practically out of nowhere, like they just spawned into the world instantly. They've been a constant thorn in his side, but things got even stranger when they reached the fifth part of the city, and that one white haired hero used this strange token to transform.
Now that, that intrigued the Gambler quite a bit.
He could use that.
"Hey boss!" One of the Gambler's endless goons walked in to inform him about something. "Those two mugs just hopped on the subway, they had tickets."
"Ah so the two are on their way to visit little ole me are they?" The gambler chuckled as he pulled out a cigar, quickly lighting it and putting it into his mouth. "Good, very good. And the boys managed to collect the goods?"
"All right here boss." The goon said as he brought up a closed chest.
"Let me just make sure," The Gambler stood up from his chair, taking a puff of his cigar, and walked over to the chest. Opening it up, the Gambler gave a sinister smirk as he witnessed the contents inside. All of the Omnitrix icons with various alien silhouettes on them. "Excellent, most excellent indeed. Call the boys over, I wanna make a quick…modification to my machine before our two little heroes arrive."
"Alright Clyde, here we are…" Lincoln said as he and Clyde stepped out of the subway and right into the city where the Gambler and his evil liar were. It…was pretty much a kid friendly version of Los Vegas. Bright lights, signs, card, dice, poker, and various other sort of gambling themed decorations littered throughout the place. As well the Gambler's image being seen everywhere to build him up as a real narcissist. "We just gotta beat the Gambler and we'll be back in real world."
"Ok, ok, we can do this! We're Clincoln Mcloud and we can do this!" Clyde told himself to try and hype himself up. They had to do this, not just for them but for Ace Savvy and One-Eyed Jack, to free the latter from the Gamblers' control. Also so they can finish the game and move onto a new one, but those first reasons most importantly. "Let's go teach him a lesson!"
"Yeah! That's the spirit bud!" Lincoln cheered as he and Clyde did their signature best friends' handshake before they walked forward right into the belly of the beast. But as they walked forward the two boys couldn't help but notice something…strange. "Hey…is there anyone else here?"
"…Not that I can see." Clyde also noticed it as well. They were right in the Gambler's liar, his main base where he coordinated all of his evil schemes…and no one was here. This place should be swarming with goons like a beehive, robots or some sort of security measures to try and keep them out but there was…nothing. "Should we be worried?"
"Well…this is definitely some kind of trap but where else can we go?" Lincoln wasn't stupid he knew this was some sort of trap. The Gambler wanted the two of them to come into his liar for…some reason. But they had no way of knowing what it was since neither of them looked up a guide for this, they wanted to play the game blind. So all they could do to prepare was just realize they were walking into a trap and just prepare for whatever waited them. "We just gotta go in and give it our best shot."
"…Game on." Clyde said with determination in his voice as he and Lincoln walked forward through the empty streets of the Gamblers city. Eventually the two of them walked to the final area of the game, The Gamblers building. The tallest building in the city with the Gambler's face right on the top of it in neon lights, the entrance being two giant palace doors adorned with playing cards, poker chips, and roulette patterns. "On three?"
"On three." Lincoln nodded as they both put their hands on the door.
"One…" Clyde began.
"Two…" Lincoln followed up.
"Three!" Both boys then pushed both halves of the door and opened it right up.
Blackness. It just seemed to be infinite blackness inside without the slightest hint of light other than what was shining in through the outside. Both Lincoln and Clyde looked to each other and merely shared a shrug before walking forward and facing whatever the infinite darkness had in store. Upon entering, the duel doors they came in through shut with loud thuds, and wouldn't be opening up again. "No turning back now," Lincoln muttered as Clyde gulped a bit in fear.
Now they were completely left in the dark, both boys struggling to see anything much less decide which direction to start walking in. But another loud sound was heard as, about 100 feet in front of them a spotlight shined down from above and lighting up a single area of the dark room and revealing a slot machine with a lever on it that was labeled with a 'pull me' sign.
"That's not suspicious at all…" Lincoln let out sarcastically as the two best friends walked up to slot machine that was just screaming "trap" but they didn't have much of a choice. Once they reached the machine Clyde pulled the lever and the slots began to spin. After a few seconds they all stopped, each of them landing on an image of the Gambler's face with the machine making loud dinging sounds.
"Congratulations! You win!" The Gambler's voice came out of the machine as the two boys stood on guard, awaiting whatever could happen now. "Your prize is…a first class ticket to your destruction!"
THUD!
THUD!
THUD!
The ground started to shake greatly as the two felt the footsteps of something undoubtedly heavy and large walking in the room. At the same time lights flared from all over the room destroying the seemingly infinite darkness and reveal what the room they were in was. They were standing on a large platform that resembled a giant roulette table that was floating above a seemingly bottomless pit. Around the outer parts of the room were golden columns that stretched out to the ceiling.
And standing in front of the two boys…was a giant robot that looks exactly like the Gambler. It had a permanent sinister grin on its face and piloting it from inside the robots head was the Gambler himself. "Well, well boys congratulations on cheating your way right to me! You have my respect," The Gambler mocked the two boys for taking the subway straight to his HQ. It didn't take much for heroes to stoop to his level and it was always fun to watch. "So you're the two little heroes who have been causing me so much belly aching!"
"We're only doing our job of stopping vile villains like you!" Lincoln hammed it up, speaking with a superhero voice as he pointed dramatically at the comic/video game villain. "We'll never stop until we free this city from your wickedness!"
"Wickedness? Oh you hurt me so young hero." The Gambler chuckled as he feigned being hurt from Lincoln's words. "I'm simply trying to run a business, if a few people make a few bad bets why that's only on them. Not my fault the mayor placed a few bets that didn't pay off, same with that One Eyed Jack. It's all business boys."
"Any respectable business wouldn't stoop to such low-down tactics!" Clyde shouted back as he took a dramatic pose. "You're reign of terror ends now Gambler! Surrender or face our heroic fury!"
"Well I am just quaking in my boots right now. Very well, if that's the way you wanna roll the dice then how about we make the game more interesting!" Gambler grinned as he pressed a button on his control panel and activated his most recent addition to the robot. "I must thank you my shape shifting friend! You really gave my robot the Oof I've been looking for!"
"Wait, what's he talking about?" Clyde looked forward Lincoln, both boys sporting a confused look. Just then they looked forward and saw the stomach compartment of the robot open up to revealing a roulette table inside it…and all the Omnitrix icons on it other than the ones Lincoln already collected. "Wait…are those…"
"How did he get them all!?" Lincoln yelled as he saw all his alien icons attached to the robot. Including the very one they needed to find above all else. "The Upgrade icon! Gambler!"
"This is what happens when you don't play the game boys," The Gambler chuckled as he lit up another cigar. "But don't worry, I had my boys go and collect em all for you. And now we can really have some fun!"
BOSS BEGIN!
The words appeared above the two boys, signaling the start of the final battle. "Alright boys! Let's spin to win!" The Gambler shouted out as he pressed a button and activated the alien roulette. One of the icons lit up before the light began to spin around each alien until eventually slowing down until it stopped on the icon for NRG. "Now let's see what this does!"
"Oh boy. Get ready Clyde we better be prepared for-" But Lincoln's words were briefly cut off as he was covered in a green glow and before he even knew it he had turned into NRG. Over his armor he now wore a red spandex suit with orange sleeves and legs and red gloves and boots. "Anything…wait…what? I'm NRG? How?"
"Huh, not what I was expecting," The Gambler said with intrigue in his voice. Nothing he loved more than a good surprise to really spice things up. "You're just chalk full of surprises ain't ya little hero."
"Wait Lincoln I think I get it!" Clyde smiled as he quickly figured out what was going on with the Gambler's alien roulette. "Whatever alien the wheel lands on you'll turn into! It reacts with the watch!"
"So I'll just randomly start changing between aliens as he spins that thing then." NRG grumbled a bit as he crossed his arms. But a light bulb quickly went off in his head as he looked up at the Upgrade icon. "But wait, if it lands on the Upgrade icon then I'll turn into Upgrade and I can use him to instantly defeat him and get us out of here!"
"So we don't actually gotta defeat him! We can turn us into an endurance match!" Clyde grinned eagerly at this news. He wasn't sure about fighting a giant robot but dodging its attacks until that wheel landed on the Upgrade icon…that seemed at least a little more manageable. "Watch yourself Gambler! Today you go to jail where you belong!"
"Oh we'll see about that won't we?" Gambler smirked as he pressed another button on his control panel and the teeth of his robot opened up and from it shot out dice that started rolling on the roulette panel. When the dice stopped rolling both of them landed on one. "Oh dear that's just bad. For you." The dice glowed and coming out of each of them were giant snakes that hissed and looked down at the boy. "Hope ya boys don't have a fear of snakes!"
"Um…maybe a small fear," Clyde smiled nervously as he and NRG got into battle position. "I got the one on the left, you get the one on the right. Maybe after each attack phase he'll spin the wheel again."
"Let's hope so!" NRG shouted as he charged at the snake on the right. "Have a taste of some energy!" NRG then aimed his face at the snake and fired off radioactive rays from his grills. The snake hissed in pain as the beams connected with it, so the serpent retaliated as it opened its mouth up wide and charged at NRG with its mouth wide open and-
SNAP!
"HISSSSSSSSSS!" As soon as the snake tried to bite NRG its teeth shattered, unable to even scratch the alien's armor.
"Ha! Too tough of a nut to crack huh?" NRG boasted as he lightly punched his chest. The transformed boy then looked to the die the snake was connected to and hummed in thought. "I wonder…" NRG acted fast before the snake could recover and fired a beam at the die, destroying it. As soon as the die was gone the snake vanished into nothingness. "Clyde! Don't go for the snake! Destroy the die its attached to!"
"Got it!" Clyde nodded as he jumped back as the snake he was fighting tried to bite him. Clyde then jumped up, landed on the snake's head and started running across his back before jumping up once again and performing a drop kick on the die, destroying it and the snake. "Ha! You're gonna have to do better than that Gambler!"
"Oh I plan too!" Gambler rubbed his hands in anticipation as he pressed the button to active the roulette again. "But first let's spin to win!"
Just as Clyde predicted, the alien roulette started spinning again. Both boys crossed their fingers and kept their eyes on the Upgrade icon. But unfortunately that wasn't how it worked out as the roulette instead landed on Ampfibian causing Lincoln to shift into the Jellyfish-like alien now wearing a white shirt with a lightning bolt symbol and a jacket which was dark blue on the outside and yellow on the inside along with a white mask with yellow goggles. "Dang it! Wrong alien!" Ampfibian told himself as he looked up at the alien roulette and groaned a bit as he saw all the icons. "Dang it! It's gonna be a 1 in 14 chance everytime the wheel spins."
"Not exactly the best odds."
"Ra'ad! You're back!" Ampfibian shouted with relief now that the Amperi was back in his head. "Time for reunions later though, any idea how to deal with this? We gotta get the Upgrade icon but the odds aren't in our favor."
"Well is there a way to rig it? This is a game right? There's always a way to cheat these things."
"Ra'ad said there might be a way to cheat the game and rig the roulette." Ampfibian told his best friend as the Gambler got ready for his next attack phase. "Any clue."
"I don't know." Clyde frowned a bit as he looked down. "I didn't reach this part in the guide, I didn't wanna be spoiled on what the finale boss would be."
"I'd stop talking and start getting ready boys!" The Gambler said as he shuffled a deck of cards before inserting them into his machine. "Because I'm about to deal out some pa-"
But suddenly the entire world froze once again. Everything came to a suddenly halt and the two boys realized what was going on. "Leni! Ja'Orre!" Ampfibian called out as he and Clyde looked upward, their eyes and Clyde's mouth being the only thing they can move. "Did you guys pause the game again?!"
"Yes, we did. Sorry guys but we think we have a solution to this roulette thing!" Leni spoke up to the two of them. In the real world Leni and Ja'Orre were both eyeing a page in the games guide about the Gambler's Gambling mech. "Normally he just spins the wheel and random effects happen. You could gain or lose health, gain or lose super meter, good stuff and bad stuff. But you being in the game changed it. But hopefully this shouldn't change about the wheel."
"It says here if you hit the wheel while it's spinning you can stop it yourself." Ja'Orre said as he reread the guide again. "If you time it right you can hit the middle of the roulette to make it come to a hard stop, man wish real life gambling worked like that."
"Wait really!?" Both boys let out in unison.
"We just need to get our timing right after this phase!" Ampfibian let out as he shifted his eyes to the mech and then to his tentacles. "And this is the perfect alien to make the shot!"
"Unpause the game now!" Clyde yelled out with a smirk on his face. "We can finish this once and for all."
"Good luck boys!" Leni said as she hit the unpause button.
"-in!" The Gambler finished as shoulder turrets appeared on the Gamblers robot. The Gambler began to shoot out razor sharp cards out of the turrets at the two young heroes. With a plan in mind, Ampfibian quickly grabbed Clyde and flew through the air to dodge the incoming projectiles and even shooting some with projectiles to counter them. Eventually the projectiles stopped and the battle phase was over. "Hmph, not bad boys but I got plenty more up my sleeve! Now let's spin to win!"
"Lincoln! Now's our chance!" Clyde yelled out as Ampfibian narrowed his eyes at the roulette as it started spinning. "You gotta shoot it quickly!"
"Let's do this…" Time seemed to slow down for the transformed boy as he kept his eyes on the icons. Pesky Dust, Feedback, Gray Matter, Fasttrack…Upgrade.
ZAP!
Ampfibian didn't waste anytime. As soon as the roulette hit Upgrade's icon, he shot out a bolt of electricity right at the middle of the roulette as Leni and Ja'Orre told him. And just like they said the roulette stopped right on Upgrade. "YES!" Ampfibian cheered as the Omnitrix symbol started to glow. "It's hero time!"
A bright green flashed covered Ampfibian and Clyde, and when it faded in the Amperi's position was now Upgrade who fell onto his feet on the ground with Clyde in his arm. "Heh, you have no idea what kinda trouble you're in." Upgrade would be grinning if he had a mouth and set Clyde down. "Alright Clyde, let me handle this. You just sit back and enjoy the show."
"Gladly," Clyde grinned as Upgrade zoom forward.
"Heh, well let's see how these kids like some poker chips." The Gambler pressed another button on his control panel…only for nothing to happen. "Huh? Hey! What's going on?" The Gambler then gasped as he looked around and saw black goo with orange circuitry. "H-Hey what're you doing?!"
"Ending your reign gambler!" Upgrade's face appeared on the control panel and glared at the Gambler. Suddenly the cockpit of the robot opened up and the hand of the robot opened up and grabbed the Grambler who was unable to escape the robot's grasp. "This is game over for you!"
"Nooooo!" The Gambler yelled out as he tried to struggle out of his robots grasp but was absolutely fruitless. "I still have another hand to play!"
"Sorry Gambler, looks like you're just gonna have to fold." Clyde yelled as Upgrade unmerged with the robot leaving it unmoving and still holding onto the Gambler. The two boys shared a high five but a familiar beeping sound got the two's attention as they saw the Omnitrix beeping red. "Oh no!"
"Ok time to leave!" Upgrade quickly wrapped up Clyde in his arm before merging both of them with the world itself and quickly left the video game world before he timed out.
THE REAL WORLD
Both Leni and Ja'Orre sat on the couch watching the TV and seeing the two boys fighting the Gambler. Soon after Lincoln defeated the Gambler, the video game console began pulsating with electricity and before the very two's eyes Lincoln and Clyde appeared out of it right on the floor. "Lincoln! Clyde!" Leni cheered as she wrapped them both up into a hug that Ja'Orre joined in on. "You're both ok!"
"Oh sweet relief we're back in the real world!" Clyde cheered as he took a deep breath. "Aaaaah, smell that nice none digital air."
"Hey look it even stopped raining." Lincoln pointed out as he looked to see the sun now shining outside. "I wish we could have said goodbye to Ace before we left though."
"I know bud but I think this adventure was going on for long enough, but here look on the bright side. There's always next time!" Ja'Orre reassured Lincoln with a pat to the back. "Now you and Clyde can work on beating the game 100%"
"…" Lincoln and Clyde awkwardly looked to each other before looking back to Ja'Orre and Leni with Lincoln speaking up. "Yeah, uh, I actually think we've had enough video games for while."
"Yeah we're gonna go play outside." Clyde said before he and Lincoln headed to the door. "We'll be back for dinner."
"Ok have fun." Leni waved to the two as they left the house. After a brief moment of silence Leni smirked at Ja'Orre. "So…you wanna play?"
"Dibs on player one!" Ja'Orre yelled as he and Leni grabbed the controller and sat down on the couch.
And boom! All done!
