Cut to Steven, Amethyst, and Spinel, who are at Greg's storage unit, talking to Pearl.
Pearl declared "I'm afraid I can't help. I'm currently in the service of my Um Greg Universe preparing for tonight's concert showcasing a promising ensemble in the "rockinroll" genre."
"That's the problem." Steven declared
Amethyst snickered "Pfft."
Greg asked "You're evacuating people to the warehouse? [walks out, on the phone] I'll - I'll cancel the rock show. No? You're right. Sadie Killer always draws a crowd. You got it, Mayor. I'll drop the cover charge and, heck, 30% off merch." [hangs up]
Steven cheered "Dad."
Greg cheered "Steven, you found Amethyst!"
Amethyst [robotic tone and motions] "Who is Amethyst?"
"Not funny Amethyst." Greg declared
Greg bemoaned "Oh, no. She's even worse."
Amethyst reassured "Nah, I'm just goofin'."
Greg [relieved, but exasperated] "Too soon, Amethyst."
A crashing sound is heard in the storage unit, and they turn, seeing Spinel standing near Garnet, who had fallen.
Greg asked "Garnet, are you okay?"
Garnet blankly asked "Did you want the red cable or the blue cable?"
Greg declared "It doesn't matter! They're the same! [sees Pearl storing a guitar into her gem] Pearl, what are you doing? We need those for the show!"
Steven exasperated asked "Who cares about the rock show? We have to stop Spinel's injector, or everyone on Earth is going to die! To stop it, we need Spinel back, and to do that, we need Pearl back, and to do that, we need her missing pieces. Pearl and Mom rebelled together, so she's gotta rebel with you. We've gotta stage some big, dramatic event - something to jog her memory, like - like -"
Amethyst [jumps between Greg and Steven] "Like a rock show!"
Steven declared "Like a rock show!"
Greg confused asked "Like a rock show?"
Steven & Amethyst both yelled "Yes!"
Cut to a shot of a poster of Sadie's show outside the warehouse. Nanefua's hand places a sticker on it, saying 'No cover charge'
Nanefua declares "Right this way, citizens. [looks at line] Ticket holder or evacuee?"
Sadie [to the audience as Buck warms up] "Who's here for the show?! [cheers and applause] Who's here 'cause it's the end of the world?!" [cheers again]
Lars [offscreen, in the audience] "Wait, what?"
Most of the audience chuckled
Sadie This first song's a special request from Steven Universe!" [Everyone cheers, Garnet and Spinel begin dancing gleefully]
Steven [whispering to Greg] "This has gotta bring Pearl's memories back. It's all about quitting a crummy service job."
Sadie began soft slowly becoming more rough "Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for gracing me with your presence!"
Sadie begins to sing with Amethyst on the drums

Sadie points at Pearl (who is obediently standing away from the audience facing Greg) as she is singing with Amethyst, while Greg tries to engage her, to no avail. Steven begins to look worried and Amethyst motions him to come over.
Steven declared "One sec. [slides over to Amethyst] I-It's not enough."
Amethyst suggested "Maybe, we need to hit her where it hurts."
Pearl shuttled "Oh no…"
Steven asked "What?"
Amethyst declared "You know, her original boss? The love of her life? The reason she rebelled in the first place."
"Rose…" Jasper declared angry
Steven suddenly realized "Mom. She's gotta remember Mom. But -" He looks back at his dad
Greg [shrugs] "If that's what it takes..."
Steven gives Amethyst the nod and she takes the microphone, shapeshifting into Rose to the audience's surprise. She sings the last lines of the song, jumping off the stage, holding her hand out to turn Pearl's face to her, but her eyes still move over to Greg.
Amethyst:

Steven asked "How could that not work? What are we missing?"
Greg begins to clap, but stops, uncomfortable.
Pearl declared "Don't worry! I can clap for you!" [claps quickly]
Greg [exasperated] "Ah! What will make you stop serving me?"
Pearl declared "As long as you exist, I will serve you."
Amethyst shapeshifts back to her regular form, and she and Steven turn to look at each other.
Steven and Amethyst both repeated "As long as you exist."
Steven realized "That's the final piece. Mom disappeared."
Steven rushes over to Greg.
Steven declared "Dad, I've got an idea. [whispers into Greg's ear]
Greg [surprised] "Are you sure? Aren't your powers messed up?"
Steven declared "I can at least try!"
Greg unsure asked "But what about me? I've never -"
Steven reassured "Come on, Dad. let's duet."
Connie connecting the dots declared "Don't tell me…"
Cut to Steven and Greg onstage, as they prep their guitars for a performance.
Steven looks at his gem and declared "Come on, powers. Work with me here." [Exhales slowly]
The two nod at each other before beginning to play. As the stage effects flare to life, the two approach each other and stand back-to-back, shredding on their guitars and looking at each other as a brief glow engulfs them, followed by a huge cloud of smoke. The crowd cheers.
Pearl [nervous] "Um Greg?"
Spinel [nervous] "Steven?"
As the smoke clears, an unfamiliar, four-armed being, bearing a long mane of hair, a wild pompadour, and a double-necked guitar emerges from the mist.
The fusion declared "It's a big, old universe out there. And when you're gettin' crushed under the weight of them stars..." [throws jacket to Garnet]
The non-crystal gem gems and most of the humans had their jaws dropped
Connie had a look of shock, she honestly didn't think that would work
Garnet smiled happily and asked "What's his name?"
Alejandro answered "Steg."
Pearl asked "Wha - Where -"
Steg continued "... Well, sometimes, you need that special someone to remind you that you're so much more."
Pearl asked "Wha..."
The new fusion, Steg, points to a confused Pearl and winks, before beginning to perform and sweeping Buck off his feet with the sheer energy of his guitar strumming.
"Woh, that is some guitar skill…" Greg declared happily
He begins to sing

The song begins to ignite an a small spark of independence in Pearl as she begins to sing

Pearl finally reforms in a colorful display of her past, from being given to Pink Diamond, to helping her rebel against the others, to the disappearance of Pink until finally reforming in normal from and she and Amethyst began to dance together in mid air wale falling

Right before Pearl and Amethyst fuse to form Opal and join Steg for his song

Culminating their performance, Steg defuses back to his original components after feeling strain due to Steven's fluctuating power.
Greg yelled "You did it! Steven?"
Collapsed on the ground and ears ringing, an exhausted Steven watches as Spinel runs away in tears, feeling rejected. Opal descends from the sky, defusing back into Pearl and Amethyst.
Steven gasped "Wait. Spinel!"
"The combination of the Rejuvenater and the Poison are taking their toll." Peridot declared worried
Amethyst gasps
Pearl yelled "Steven, are you okay?"
Steven stated "D-Don't worry about me. It's Spinel. We need her to remember how to stop her injector. Ugh! [collapses into Greg's hands] Pearl, what do you know about her?"
Pearl asked "Spinel? She was Pink Diamond's little playmate. They used to spend ages together in Pink's garden -"
Steven asked "Garden?"
Pearl declared "That's where they used to play."
Amethyst asked "So, what's her problem with us?"
Pearl replied "I don't know. I haven't seen her in 6,000 years. Something must have happened to her since then."
Pearl asked "What did happen?"
Before Spinel could answer Alejandro declares "Don't answer! Spoiler! You'll find out soon, very soon so please wait."
Steven declared "Then that's what I need to find out."
Garnet and Lion descend back from the sky.
Greg asked "Whoa, kiddo, are you sure you don't need a break?"
Amethyst declared "It looks like that fusion took everything out of you.
Steven stated "I gotta do what I can with the little I have left. I'm going after Spinel."
Steven grabs his jacket from Garnet and hops on Lion's back before riding off.
Greg yelled "Steven, wait!"
Lion busts through the door of the venue, where Nanefua waits.
Nanefua declared "Oh, Steven, some stragglers are missing from the shelters!"
Steven asked "Did you see a pink Gem run by?"
Nanefua points in the direction of the Beach House.
Steven stated "Thanks."
"Finally, future me is getting his act together!"
