Steven and Lion ride off to the house, striding across the tainted waters and arriving home. Steven clutches his Gem, in pain and exhausted.
Steven complained "Just this morning, everything was perfect. Why did everything have to change? I want my happily ever after back."
"Spoke too soon…"
As Steven and Lion touch land, a glow shines from within the warp room at the house. The former steps off onto the sand.
Steven declared "That might be her. [to Lion] Go find Connie. We need all hands on deck."
"At least he's semi making since." Connie declared
Roaring a portal into existence, Lion rushes through, leaving Steven alone to confront Spinel inside the house. After walking up the stairs, he briefly peers inside before walking in to console the depressed Gem.
Steven asked "Spinel? What's wrong?"
Spinel turns to face Steven, sobbing. Steven flinches.
Spinel [crying] "I just started getting these feelings flooding back to me."
Steven began with a stutter "That's - That's good. I need you to remember. If you don't, something really bad will happen to me and my home. Please, think! Do you remember the garden?"
Spinel asked "The garden?"
Steven asked "Is anything coming back to you?"
Remembering her past, Spinel briefly smiles, looking back on her happy memories... before degrading into a destroyed frown. In anguish, Spinel slams her fists into the warp pad, activating it.
Spinel [anguished] "No!"
Steven asked "Spinel, where are we going?"
Spinel vaguely answered "Back... to where I never left."
The two of them arrive at Pink Diamond's Garden. Spinel looks around at her surroundings, and gasps, running towards something.
Pearl gasped at seeing the poor state of the garden wondering how such a beautiful place that meant so much could end up like this
Steven yelled "Spinel!" He follows her off the warp pad
Spinel explained "This was our garden. A special world built just for Pink and I."
A flashback plays, with Spinel playing hide and seek with Pink Diamond, as she surprises her with funny faces, making her laugh.
Spinel continued "On Homeworld, Pink was so lonely and sad, but not here. Here, we would play for hours. Every day was so much fun."
The Diamonds looked ashamed at that
Flashback Spinel then juggles some bubbles, making Pink Diamond laugh and clap, but she then sighs a bit.
Spinel stayed "At least... that's what I thought."
End flashback
Steven asked "Did something happen?"
Spinel stated "Pink wanted a colony more than anything."
Another flashback plays with Pink standing by the Diamond communicator, talking to Yellow and Blue Diamond. Spinel bounces around, listening.
Spinel continued "One day, her wish came true! Blue and Yellow gave Pink her very own planet - Earth! I was so excited! A brand new place to play!"
Flashback Spinel happily bounces around an excited Pink Diamond, then lands on her shoulder, smiling with her.
Steven asked "So, why didn't you go with her?"
As Spinel follows Pink Diamond to the warp pad, Pink motions her to stay back, but she continues following her. She stops her by holding onto her hand. Spinel begins to sing through a voiceover of Pink Diamond herself

I'll show you how it's done
Here in the garden
Stand very still
"No… please tell me I'm wrong…" Pearl declared horrified connecting the dots
Pink Diamond booped Spinel's nose and she began to sing
This'll be so much fun
And then she smiled, that's what I'm after
A smile in her eyes, the sound of her laughter
Happy to listen
Happy to play
Happily watching her drift away
She stands by patiently as Pink leaves on the warp pad
Happily waiting
All on my own
Under the endless sky
Counting the seconds, standing alone
As thousands of years go by
As thousands of years ago by, the scenery around her changes, but Spinel remains on the ground waiting, but noticeably growing tired
Happily wondering, night after night

Happily watching her drift away
Back in the present Spinel gestures for Steven to follow as she continues with some happy memories playing in the background

Back in the flashback plants begin to overgrow around her. One day, as Steven's message finally appears on the communicator

About how the story ends
She doesn't exist now
Survived by her son
And all of her brand new friends
She finally gets up running, breaking the stems around her feet and falls to her knees, devastated and crying
Isn't that lovely?

As the song finishes and the flashback fades away, Spinel begins to glow and reform back to her old self, turning back to Steven.
The entire audience was in tears by the end of the song, somehow even Padparadcha was crying for Spinel at that moment
"We are about to experience the saddest story ever… through song." Padparadcha declared still in tears
"Pink… why must you cause so many problems?" Wight Diamond asked in exasperation
Steven begins with a stutter "S-Spinel, you've - you've got your memories back. I can't believe Mom did that to you." Their was a slight pause
The entire audience burst out laughing
"Okay now I'm sure of it, whatever that Rejuvenator did to me, it made me dumber!" Steven declared is exasperation
Steven continued "Actually, I can totally believe it. [tries to come close] You're not the only one she hurt -" Spinel reactively pushes Steven away, tumbling him to the ground.
Spinel yelled "Rraah! Yeah, you must know all about her life without me! [grows her hand into a giant fist] Rub it in, why don't ya?!l"
Steven [tries to summon shield but fails] "No! It's not like that! You deserve a better friend."
"I stand corrected… wow."
Spinel closes her eyes and angrily swings her fist at the column holding the diamond communicator instead, destroying it. She sighs in defeat, kneeling down sadly.
Steven declared "Spinel, come back and save the Earth with me. You can start over there, make new friends."
"Yes… you're doing it me… just don't say anything else stupid."
Steven begins to sing

He slowly comes over to her and offers her his hand. She begins to sing along

Spinel follows him around the garden as they both continue

When they make their way to the warp pad, Spinel takes his hand again and they warp back to Earth
Spinel finishes alone as Steven walks away

I already feel found
As the song finishes, she begins to cry ctears of joy and follows Steven inside the home.
"Future me did it! He finally figured out that he didn't need to beat Spinel he needed to become her friend!"
*fake cough* "For now *fake cough* oh sorry." Alejandro declared
Steven however knew what was meant and syed in exasperation, he honestly should've expected this from his future self at this point
