The chosen Pharaoh
Last time so did Atem wake up and found out that he had been unconscious for about two days, after he had told his guardians what happened so did he ask Shada to find out all he could about Kul Elna since he knew that Bakura would be there. After that so did Mana tell him that she was pregnant, the next day so did Shada tell him what he found out and prepared to leave, Mana found out and forced him to take her with him. Once they got there and he confronted Bakura and he saw the memories of the spirits of Kul Elna so did he almost believe that his father had done what Bakura had been saying but the arrival of Mahad and what he told Atem made him realize that his father knew nothing about what happened in Kul Elna and he regained his confidence and prepared himself for the final battle against Bakura and Diabound.
Chapter 13- The final battle and Aknadin's betrayal
WITH SETO AND THE OTHER GUARDIANS,
Seto and the other guardians was riding towards Kul Elna in order to help the Pharaoh and Shada, he still couldn't believe they had just gone after Bakura all by themselves.
FLASHBACK ONE AND A HALF HOUR EARLIER,
Seto and the other guardians had gathered in the throne hall and were getting worried, they hadn't seen either the Pharaoh, Shada or Mana for almost three hours now since the Pharaoh told them he didn't want to be disturb, and later when they were going to check on him so couldn't they find him anywhere.
Suddenly so did they hear someone come running towards them and saw Shimon with a look of horror on his face, "Shimon, what's wrong?" Shimon answered Karim by showing them a letter.
The guardians read it and got worried as they saw that it was from the Pharaoh and it said that he and Shada had gone to confront Bakura, Seto looked at the others, "Sacred guardians and Shimon get ready, we're going to Kul Elna to help the Pharaoh and Shada". The others nodded and ran towards the stables in order to get to Kul Elna.
END OF FLASHBACK,
Seto and the others had been riding at top speed and had been pushing their horses close to their limits but they were still about a half hour away from Kul Elna, he was hoping that they were going to make it in time.
WITH SHADA AND MANA,
Shada was protecting Mana just as the Pharaoh had asked him to do, he wasn't going to let even one of these things get close to her and even less allow them to hurt her.
Mana was watching how Shada and Two-Headed Jackal Warrior was protecting her, but then she noticed that three skeleton men was closing in on Shada from behind, she got worried, she quickly took out her wand and started to chant a spell. Shada turned around in time to see that one of the skeleton men was about to cut him down when a energy beam hit all three of them and pulverized them, he looked at Mana who chanted again and spheres of energy shot out of the wand and hit all of the skeleton men and pulverized them as well.
Shada looked at her shocked over the display she had just shown, "Uh, nicely done Mana", Mana smiled at him, and suddenly so did they see a sphere of light in the sky and they could see the shape of what looked like a person inside of it, Mana then felt that it had a connection to her and realized with a smile what it was.
WITH ATEM AND BAKURA,
Atem saw that Diabound prepared himself to attack, "Mahad, be careful", Mahad nodded before he held out his wand just as Diabound fired his Helical Shockwave at him, he knew that the Helical Shockwave was too powerful for him to overpower this time so he decided to try a new trick.
"Dark Magic Portal", a portal appeared in front of Mahad and absorbed the Helical Shockwave much to Bakura's shock, "Behold, the Dark Magic portal will absorb your attack and then redirect its target to whatever I chose".
Bakura noticed another vortex appear to the left a bit above his head, then the attack flew over him and hit the pillar a little behind him, he chuckled, "I guess your magician has to work on his aim".
Atem smirked, "Mahad, never misses, the reason the attack didn't hit you were because he was not aiming at you to begin with". Bakura got shocked and then noticed that the pillar began to fall, and then he noticed that it was falling directly towards the Millennium Stone. Bakura growled, "You little, you were after the Millennium Stone from the very beginning".
Atem's smirk grew, if he could destroy the stone here and now so would it be impossible for Zorc the Dark One to cross over.
Bakura ordered Diabound to stop the pillar from crushing the stone, Diabound used his snake tail and caught the pillar and managed to stop it just in time, "Nice try Pharaoh, but that was pointless". Atem smirk once again got bigger, "Oh really? As long as Diabound is holding that pillar so can't he sink into the ground and it will be pointless to go invisible".
Bakura growled as he realized that right now so was Diabound one big target, at that moment so did Mahad fire a Illusionary Shockwave at Diabound that hit him in the face which made Bakura hold his face in pain.
"I see your tactic, you're trying to make Diabound unable to hide and prevent him from attacking while you're launching attacks at him, but that won't work".
Before Mahad could attack Diabound again so lifted Diabound the pillar and slammed it into the ground so that big pieces of it flew towards Atem, Mahad quickly shot a few Illusionary Shockwaves and made them into smaller pieces, he shot a few more attacks to make them even smaller right before they hit Atem.
Sure it hurt when they hit him but it didn't do as much damage as it would have if they had hit him in their original size.
Bakura laughed at Atem, "It's what you get for underestimating me Pharaoh, and I am going to give the stone a little extra protection, now Skeleton fiend come forth". The creature known as Skeleton Fiend appeared and was placed over the Millennium Stone, Atem gritted his teeth since he realized that he couldn't target it anymore.
And then so did Diabound sink into the ground, Atem looked around searching for it, he then heard a sound from above him. He looked up and saw Diabound right over his head with a prepared Illusionary Shockwave, Mahad also saw this and flew towards Atem just as Diabound unleashed his attack.
Atem saw the Illusionary Shockwave come towards him, but right before it hit him so did Mahad reach him and grabbed him and got him out of the way just in time before it made a big hole at the spot there Atem had just been standing, Diabound then got out of the roof and used the darkness of the crypt to turn invisible.
Atem gritted his teeth, Bakura laughed, "This is turning out like the battle between Slifer and Diabound right Pharaoh? Mahad won't be able to attack Diabound unless he finds him first, just like it was for Slifer".
Atem got a smirk on his face, "I agree that it's similar but there is one big difference and that difference will cause Diabound's downfall". Bakura laughed sarcastically, "And just what is that difference you speak of Pharaoh?" Atem looked at Mahad and nodded and Mahad returned the nod before he unleashed his Rapid Spell Fire and shot one magical blast after another and making holes in the floor, the walls and the roof.
Bakura laughed, "Is this your big plan Pharaoh? Attacking randomly and hoping that you might get in a lucky shot on Diabound?" Atem snuck a look behind him with a smile on his face, "Not exactly Bakura, let me take a wild guess, Diabound is behind me right now isn't he?"
Bakura gasped in shock as he could see a piece of Diabound's body as well as his head behind Atem, "No, but how did you…?" Bakura got quiet when he saw that Diabound was in a pillar of light, he looked up and saw sunlight come in through one of the holes in the roof that Mahad had made with his attacks.
Bakura shot a hateful look at Atem, "You little, you planned that from the very start". Atem's smile got bigger, "If there is no darkness so can't Diabound remain invisible, the difference I was talking about was that it was night time during our last battle but now its day time, now Mahad finish Diabound off once and for all".
Mahad unleashed his Rapid Spell Fire and every shot hit Diabound and then Mahad unleashed his Dark Magic Attack on Diabound which sent Diabound flying to the ground after he received a lot of damage from all those attacks and Bakura also fell to the ground in pain.
"It's over now Bakura, return the ring and the puzzle to me and you will be spared from the shadow realm because if I were you I wouldn't count on my luck in order to escape from that place a second time".
Bakura began to laugh to Atem's shock, "You're right about that I won't be able to escape from there again, but don't believe that just because your magician have improved a little means that he can defeat me, especially when we are in this village".
Atem wondered what he meant and then saw that the evil spirits of Kul Elna was flying around him now, "Now dark spirits, give your power to me so that I can put an end to our hatred by destroying the son of king Aknamkanon".
Atem gasped in shock as he saw the spirits enter Bakura's body and felt their dark energy fueling him, and he saw Diabound change in front of his eyes. His head had been directly on his body but now he had a neck, his body got larger and more slender and he could feel that his power increase, he now had about a third part the power of the White Dragon that Kisara had inside of her, but even so with all the damage Diabound had taken so should they still be able to take him down.
Mahad knew that it was too risky to try and use tricks anymore and went on the offensive, but much to his and Atem's shock so were Mahad's Rapid Spell Fire blocked by the evil spirits of Kul Elna that together formed a shield in front of Diabound.
"Sorry Pharaoh but your magician should have destroyed Diabound when he had the chance because now it's Diabound's turn, Diabound attack him with your Spiral Wave Attack".
Diabound charged up an attack that looked like a white version of his Helical Shockwave, he unleashed it and it flew towards Mahad too fast for the magician to even react and it hit him full on and sent him flying through two pillars before he fell to the ground.
Atem held his chest in pain and Bakura laughed, "What do you think of Diabound's newest attack Spiral Wave? Sure it has only half the power of the Helical Shockwave but on the other hand it takes half as long to charge up and its also twice as fast as the Helical Shockwave as well".
Atem looked at Mahad and saw that he tried to get up but he had received too much damage, "Now I think it's time to get rid of Mahad once and for all, Diabound attack him with your Joined Illusionary Shockwave". Atem looked shocked at Bakura before he turned his eyes to Diabound and saw that he was forming an Illusionary Shockwave in each hand.
Then to his shock and horror so did Diabound fuse the two attacks so that they became one and then he shot it towards Mahad, Atem could feel that it had almost the same power as Slifer's Lightning Blast and Atem knew that Mahad had received too much damage to be able to withstand it but he couldn't do anything to help and only watch as the attack got closer to Mahad.
But a few seconds before it hit him so did Atem think that he saw a purple flash there Mahad were, the next thing he knew so did the Joined Illusionary Shockwave hit the place there Mahad were and blew up a large piece of the floor.
Bakura chuckled, "It looks like its game over for you, because your Dark Magician is no more". Atem gritted his teeth, he couldn't believe that Mahad was gone, and then he heard a voice over his head, "Mahad are safe Pharaoh". Atem looked up and saw someone who looked like Mana only that she had blond hair and had cloths that was similar to Mahad only that she also had a skirt and they were blue and pink and she was floating in the air while holding onto Mahad.
Atem looked higher up and saw to his shock Mana sticking her head through one of the holes in the roof.
AT THE SAME TIME WITH SETO AND THE OTHER GUARDIANS,
Seto and the other guardians and Shimon had just arrived at Kul Elna, then a skeleton man appeared out of nowhere and swung his sword at Seto's head.
But just as the sword was about to hit him so did Jackal Warrior show up and cut the skeleton man in half, saving Seto's life. Shada came up them and Seto looked at him, "Shada, where is the Pharaoh?"
Shada looked at them, "He went to confront Bakura and Mana who forced us to take her with us just went to help him, I will take care of things here just go and help the Pharaoh".
Seto and the others nodded but Aknadin said that he would stay and help Shada, Seto gave him a look, for the past weeks since the incident with Kisara so had he been wondering what side Aknadin was on now but right now wasn't the time to hesitate so he nodded and the others rode off in order to get to the Pharaoh and Mana in time.
BACK TO ATEM AND MANA,
Mana jumped to a pillar and used it to get down to the ground and stood next to Atem, "Mana, what are you doing here and who is she?"
Mana smiled at him, "Okay first, she is Dark Magician Girl and she is my creature, are you mad over that I'm here? If we hadn't shown up when we did so would Mahad been destroyed by Diabound".
Atem gritted his teeth, he knew that Mana was right about that but he didn't like that she was there anyway, he didn't want her to even be in the same village as Bakura and especially not in the same crypt.
Bakura laughed, "So now I can destroy both of your childhood friends now Pharaoh". Atem's eyes narrowed and placed himself in front of Mana, Dark Magician Girl and Mahad tried to attack Diabound but the evil spirits formed a shield to protect him again. Bakura chuckled, "Now let me show you another trick Diabound has gained from the dark spirits of Kul Elna".
The spirits split up and to Atem and Mana's shock so did they take the form of two duplicates of Diabound, "Oh great, like not one Diabound was bad enough, now we have three to deal with", Atem knew that only one was the real deal but having these duplicates will make it hard to get to the real Diabound.
The three Diabounds flew towards them, Mahad and Dark Magician Girl began to fire magical blasts at them and smashed the two duplicate, Bakura smirked, "So you got rid of the duplicates but the real one will still crush all of you".
Diabound charged up his Helical Shockwave and shot it at the two magicians and they managed to dodge it, but as they dodged it so did Diabound fire an Illusionary Shockwave at Dark Magician Girl and she didn't have time to dodge.
Atem looked at Mahad and he nodded and flew and pushed Dark Magician Girl out of the way and took the blast himself and was sent to the ground. Atem almost doubled over in pain from the attack, Mahad had barely any power left as it was and now half of what he had was gone.
Mana went over to him and bent down next to him with a worried look on her face, then she saw that Diabound came towards them with his hand forward, but then a sword came flying and got stuck in his hand, Diabound roared and Bakura held his hand in pain.
Diabound ripped out the sword and threw it away, then Duos came flying and caught his sword, the sacred guardians and Shimon entered the crypt and ran over to protect their Pharaoh from any more harm.
Shimon sat down on his knees next to the Pharaoh, "My king, why didn't tell us about this and went here without all of your sacred guardians?" Atem looked at him, "I had to figure something out, and I had to do it alone, but right now is not the time, Mahad need help to defeat Diabound". Everyone looked in front of him as he said that and all of them, even Seto, got smiles on their faces when they saw Mahad pick himself up from the ground.
Dark Magician Girl landed next to him, "Don't worry about Mahad Pharaoh, I will use my magic to restore Mahad's power". And then Dark Magician Girl began to restore Mahad's power.
Isis smiled, "And while she restores Mahad's power I will restore the Pharaoh's". Isis took and summoned Mystical Elf that had the ability to either restore the power of a creature or restoring the life force of a human. Isis ordered Mystical Elf to restore Atem's life force and he felt that his power was almost restored to maximum.
Bakura gritted his teeth, he was getting tired of the guardians, they always got in the way when he was about to destroy the Pharaoh, but then he got a smile on his face, at least now he didn't need to lure them here and once he beat them he would have three more Millennium items.
Atem and Mahad both got up on their legs, "Alright, ready Mahad?" Mahad nodded but Shimon stopped Atem, "No don't Pharaoh, it's too dangerous for you now without your Millennium Puzzle so please leave Bakura to the sacred guardians".
Bakura laughed, "That's a great idea, sit this one out Pharaoh, I will take your guardians items and then I will finish you off once and for all". Seto stepped forward, "Bakura, we, the sacred guardians of the great Pharaoh will make sure that your madness ends here and now".
Karim activated his DiaDhank and summoned Curse of Dragon, Bakura laughed, "Summon as many creatures as you like they still don't stand a chance against Diabound". Diabound took and charged up his Helical Shockwave and fired it at them, all of the creatures took and dodged it since they would be destroyed immediately if they got hit by the attack.
Seto pointed the Millennium Rod at Diabound, "Sacred guardians, join forces, attack Diabound all at once". The creatures surrounded Diabound and Duos, Curse of Dragon, Mahad and Dark Magician Girl attacked at the same time, but as the dust cleared so did Atem grit his teeth when he saw that the attacks had once again been absorbed by the spirit shield while the others got shocked over the sudden appearance of the shield.
Bakura laughed, "As I told your precious Pharaoh, as long as we are in Kul Elna so is Diabound protected by the evil spirits of the village, and now I guess it's my time to attack, Diabound give that Elf a taste of your Poison Fang Chain attack".
Diabound's snake tail flew towards Mystical Elf and moved so fast that it looked like it was a few dozen snakes and it destroyed Mystical Elf. Isis went down on a knee and gasped in pain, Atem got down on a knee next to her, "Isis, are you alright?" Isis smiled and nodded, Bakura laughed, "Yeah well, none of you will be okay for very much longer, in fact none of you will make it out of here alive".
Atem gritted his teeth and then saw that Diabound was charging up his Helical Shockwave, "Everyone, scatter". Everyone dodged to the sides and managed to precisely dodge the Helical Shockwave.
Atem glared at Diabound, "None of our attacks will even get close to Diabound as long as that spirit shield can block the attacks, we must hit it with something that has enough power to break through". Karim looked at Seto, "In that case, I will fuse Seto's Duos with my Curse of Dragon". Atem looked at him realizing that he was about to use the power of the Millennium Scale and saw that Seto nodded at him.
Karim stood up and held up the scale, "Now Millennium Scale, combined our two spirits into one". The scale lit up and Curse of Dragon and Duos began to merge, "Now, Diabound meet the mighty Duos Dragon".
Once they were completely merged so had they taken the form of a dragon with Duos body and his sword, Atem looked at Mahad and Mahad nodded before he flew up and landed on Duos Dragon's head, "And by adding Mahad's magical energy to our new dragon so is its strength doubled".
Bakura laughed at what Atem had said, "Even that won't be enough to defeat Diabound", Seto pointed the rod at him, "We will see, Duos attack with your Flame Burst Attack". Duos Dragon opened his mouth and fired a huge stream of intense fire at Diabound, Bakura smirked. "I could easily block that little fire attack with the spirit shield but I think it will be more fun to destroy that dragon so now Diabound, Helical Shockwave, destroy that dragon".
Diabound used his left arm and fired his Helical Shockwave at the Flame Burst Attack and the two attack met and they were completely even, neither of the attacks budged at all. Bakura couldn't believe that their dragon's attack was even with his Diabound's, but then he smirked, "I guess I underestimated your dragon, but if you're going to fuse your creatures then I will fuse my attacks, now Diabound, Spiral Wave".
Diabound took and fired his Spiral Wave and it fused with his Helical Shockwave to Atem's horror, he knew that Duos Dragon couldn't handle that much power since the strength of Diabound's attack almost doubled.
Duos Dragon's attack was getting pushed back and Diabound's attack was getting closer and closer to Duos Dragon and from the look of things he would end up swallowing Diabound's attack if they didn't do something and fast.
Seto gritted his teeth and knew what he had to do, so just before Diabound's attack reached Duos Dragon so did he say, "Duos, use your Aura Sword to protect yourself". Duos lifted his sword just in time to block Diabound's fusion attack, but Seto knew that the sword wouldn't be able to withstand the attack for long.
Bakura laughed, "Well isn't this interesting, let's see how long your sword will be able to handle this level of power". Duos' sword was starting to turn red from the heat of the attack and smoke started to appear from Seto's arm, "Hurry Karim, while I block his attack have Duos attack him again, quickly while I can still block the attack".
Karim looked at him and nodded, he lifted the scale and ordered Duos Dragon to attack with his Flame Burst attack again. Duos Dragon unleashed his attack and it went in a spiral around Diabound's fusion attack and went straight towards Diabound.
The spirit shield formed in front of Diabound in order to protect him from the Flame Burst Attack, "Didn't I tell you that it's useless, none of your attacks will be able to…" He got quiet when he saw that the fire attack was beginning to melt the spirit shield.
Bakura couldn't believe it, the hatred the spirits felt should make the shield invincible, he couldn't allow them to defeat him, not now that he was so much closer. Karim looked at Seto who was struggling with the fusion attack, "Hold on just a little longer Seto, a few seconds and we will have broken through the shield and then we can defeat Diabound".
Bakura laughed, "Maybe but don't think I will allow you to break through the shield that easily, you see I have a few tricks up my sleeve ".
Bakura then took and summoned a creature who looked like a flying eyeball that Atem didn't know the name on, it took and attacked Karim and he dropped the scale which one of the spirits took and gave it to Bakura. Bakura chuckled, "Now that you have lost the Millennium Scale so have you also lost the ability to fuse creatures so I guess you have to say goodbye to your Duos Dragon".
And just after Bakura said that so split Duos Dragon up to Duos and Curse of Dragon again. Atem gritted his teeth, he couldn't believe they had been so close and then failed.
Diabound charged up his Spiral Wave and hit both Duos and Curse of Dragon, Mahad managed to push Dark Magician Girl out of the way right before he was hit again.
Diabound then fired an Illusionary Shockwave at the ground and sent Atem and the others flying. Atem was slowly getting up and looked around, he saw all his guardians, Shimon and Mana on the ground, he also saw that their creatures were also on the ground while they're shaking in pain.
Bakura laughed and called back the eyeball creature since he didn't need it anymore, "I guess this is it for all of you". Atem stood up, "Enough Bakura, leave others alone and take out your rage and hate at me and spare the others".
The others looked at Atem shocked and Mana yelled, "No Atem, don't do it". Seto picked himself up from the floor and sat up, "Why are you doing this Pharaoh? The land of Egypt still needs you so you can't let this man kill you".
Atem closed his eyes, "This land has suffered Bakura's rage because of me and my father, in order to create the Millennium items so were dark and evil souls needed, even though my father didn't know about it so did he order the creation of the items and he did die out of a sickness he got out of guilt he felt over what happened".
All the others looked at him shocked, "That was what I came here for, to find out the truth and I did, and these spirits wants me to pay for what happened to them, so if that's what I have to do in order to protect you from a problem my family created then I will do it".
Bakura chuckled and the spirits took the form of a big skull in front of Atem, Atem looked at the spirits, "Well dark spirits of Kul Elna, you want me? COME AND GET ME!"
The spirits flew towards him and the ones he cared about gasped when they saw the spirits entered his body. Bakura laughed, "This is the end of you Pharaoh Atem, son of king Aknamkanon".
Atem managed to look behind him and saw Mana cry, Shimon and the guardians look at him worried while Seto cursed Bakura as well. Atem could feel the evil spirits make their way towards his soul and he knew that they could tear it apart and then devour it.
Atem was gathering his remaining magical energy and strength and prepared to put a protective spell over the others, because he knew that Bakura would destroy them once Bakura was done with him. But as he prepared to chant the spell so did he feel something happen within himself, the spirits had reached the place where the soul are but something had stopped them from devouring it.
The sacred guardians, Shimon and Mana all gasped in shock when a golden light appeared around Atem and the evil spirits was repelled straight out of his body. The light then began to take a form and all of them got shocked when they saw that it took the form of Aknamkanon.
Atem turned around and looked at him, "Father, is that really you?" Aknamkanon looked at him, "This is only a part of my spirit my son, the day I prayed for your safety I put a protective spell over you and placed a piece of my own soul inside of you in case something like this would happen to you because of my greatest mistake, the creation of the Millennium items".
Atem looked at him in shock, his father had done exactly what he was about to do, he had put a protective spell over Atem the last time he had seen his father on his legs.
Aknamkanon held out his arms and the spirits entered him instead of Atem, their spirits became a part of the piece of his spirit that were there and Diabound shrunk in size and lost a lot of power since the spirits were gone. Atem stood up and looked at his father that looked back at him.
"Now I will bring these evil spirits to the realm of darkness where they belong". Atem shook his head, "No father, don't do it because if you do then you will be trapped in there as well". His father smiled at him sadly, "I know that my son, but I have to pay for my sin as well".
Atem shook his head again and felt that tears was starting to build up in his eyes, "It's not fair father, you may have ordered the creation of the items but you didn't know what was going to happen, and when you found out you got so sick out of guilt that you eventually died, isn't that enough punishment? You don't deserve the fate of being stuck in the world of darkness".
Aknamkanon smiled, "This is the choice I have made, the choice I made in order to protect you and our precious land, so please promise me that you will restore peace to Egypt again Atem". Atem whipped away his tears and nodded with a determined look on his face.
Aknamkanon smiled before his spirit began to fade away, Bakura gritted his teeth worried now, Mahad got up again and Atem pointed at Diabound, "Now Mahad, strike down Diabound once and for all while he is still weak". Mahad flew towards Diabound while he prepared his Dark Magic Attack.
But just as he was about to unleash it so did Gadius appear and knocked Mahad's wand to the right so the attack missed Diabound who threw a punch and hit Mahad sending him in to a wall, Atem went down on a knee in pain while the others were at his sides, he turned his head around and looked at the stairs.
Aknadin was standing there with his DiaDhank activated and he also had a weird smile on his face. Then so did Atem notice that he had something in his right hand and gasped in shock when he saw that he was holding the Millennium Key".
"Aknadin why do you have the key? That item belongs to Shada". Aknadin chuckled as he walked down the last steps, "My dear nephew, I'm the one who created the items so I decide what will happen to them".
Everyone except Atem and Shimon got a shocked look on their face and looked at Atem with a confused look on their faces. Atem told them that Aknadin had made his father treat him like a normal servant so that they wouldn't think that he got special treatment and he had also said that the fact that he was the former Pharaoh's younger brother should also be a secret.
Atem then realized what Aknadin had said, he had created the items and that meant that he was the one responsible for all of this. Atem took and looked at Aknadin, "You mean to tell me that you created the items Aknadin, and that you kept the fact that you had to destroy a whole village in order to do it from my father, your own brother?"
Before he could answer Atem so did they hear someone gasping in pain, they looked at the first steps in the staircase and saw Shada stand there, he walked towards Aknadin and grabbed the key and tried to take it back, they struggled a few seconds before Aknadin managed to push Shada away before he gave him a hard kick in the stomach which made him fall to the ground.
Atem ran up to Shada followed by the others, "Shada, are you okay?" Shada nodded and sat up, "While I was fighting the spirits on the ground over us so did Aknadin hit my head from behind, making me fall of my horse and dropping my key, he took the key and the spirits began to drag me away. I managed to escape and went here while they followed me, but they disappeared a few moments ago so I figured that something must have happened down here".
Atem looked at Aknadin with anger visible in his eyes, "My dear nephew, just like my brother you are unworthy to be Pharaoh, so I will help Bakura in order to get a new more worthy Pharaoh on the throne".
Atem shot a glare at Bakura, "What did you do when you attacked him Bakura?" Bakura laughed, "I just placed a piece of myself inside of him in order to release the anger and jealousy he felt towards your father and the feelings of dislike he had of you being crowned a Pharaoh".
Atem's eyes widened, he had always known about Aknadin's jealously towards his father but he never knew that it was this great, to help a madman like Bakura. He then noticed that Aknadin was chanting something, he then realized what he was going to do but he realized it too late to stop it.
Atem felt how his body got paralyzed, he noticed that the same thing happened to the others, it was a advanced spell that all the members of the royal family is taught that freezes time around the spell's target which makes them unable to move and unable to even speak and any creatures they may have summoned also got frozen in time when their master did.
Aknadin then took both the Millennium Rod and the Millennium Necklace from Seto and Isis, he then walked up to Bakura and then both of them took and placed the items they had in their hands into the Millennium Stone.
Then there were six items in the stone and only one left but would Aknadin really do what Atem thought he was going to do? Aknadin then took and placed his hand over his left eye and pulled out the Millennium Eye to Atem's shock since he knew that his normal eye were gone because of it.
Aknadin took and placed his eye into the stone and then Atem could feel it, a very dark and evil energy coming out of the Millennium Stone, he could feel a very evil and powerful presence and saw that the energy began to take a shape, he realized that it had begun and that it was too late to stop it now.
So just as they were about to stop Bakura so did Aknadin appear and saved him and then both of them placed the seven items back into the Millennium Stone and the doorway between the shadow realm and the human world began to open.
