The Kidnap - Chapter 4
Scott ran a hand through his snow white hair and sighed. Maka wiped her eyes and pulled herself together. "Scott, if I guess who my husband is, can you tell me if I'm right? Just a simple yes or no..?" Scott shook his head. "No. I can't. We can't tell you who we are. If we do, we'll disapear. That also means in this time we will as well. It would take a while for that to happen, but it would adventually. Just know that we will come into your life soon or a later."
Maka sighed and looked down. She really wanted to know who Scott was. More importantly, she wanted to know if he was Soul. Maka, admitably was in love with Soul. She had been for a while now, her tiny crush had turned into feelings of lust and intamacy. But now, hearing this news from Scott, she was afraid that her and Soul were not to meant to be. She grew silent, and decided not to ask any more questions that might get her down on her spirits.
Soul sighed. "Anyways... Now that you know these things... I trust that you can prevent them from happening, yes?" Maka nodded slowly. Soul sighed in relife. "Good... The only bad thing is that now Makayla and I are stuck here... And so are those two thugs. We're stuck here for the rest of our lifetime, until the time passes when we were either brought into this world, or when our present selves reach our current ages. For Makayla, it would be when she is born..." Makayla looked slightly terrified at the fact she was going to disapear. Scott smiled a bit. "Don't worry, Makayla... You were a surprise that was meant to happen, and Mommy would never get rid of you. She loved you very much..." Makayla looked slightly relieved.
Maka stayed awkwardly silent. She didn't know how to react to this situation, and it was making her horrably uncompfortable. She rubbed her arm awkwardly, as if it relieved her of some stress she was carrying. Scott looked at her. "Well, Maka. We'll be staying here in the woods. I would feel compfortable if you stayed here with us for protection, but I know that you have to get back to your partner. He must be worried sick by now."
Maka nodded slowly. "He probably is... I don't want to make him go through more than he already has for me..." Images of the times they faught, and he had protected her flashed through her mind all at once, making her dizzy. Scott sighed. "We can't allow my past self to see us. If he sees us, I'll disapear, and later side-effects will happen to him in his furture around my age... So that means that you'll have to walk back home by yourself... Do you think you can manage, or are you still shaken up?"
Maka shook her head to get rid of the diziness. "I'm fine to go home. Thanks for coming back in time to save me... And well... Saving me from those guys a while ago..." She trailed off. Scott sighed. "I'm glad that I was able to help... For once..." Maka looked at Scott. "Scott... If you are Soul... I want you to know that that's not true... You always helpped me. You saved my life and turned it around when I thought I was lost. If I hadn't meant you, I can't say for certain that I would still be here today..." Maka admitted.
Scott tried not to smile, but the corner of his lips were tugged into the faintest of smiles. Maka smiled before getting up and heading twords the door. "Than you, so much. I can't wait until I meet both of you for real." She said, truthfully. Makayla smiled brightly and blushed before she hid her face in Blair's fur, clairly embaressed by her past Mother's statement.
Maka smiled and winked before she left out of the door, closing it behind her. She walked down twords the familiar Death City, back to her weapon partner, Soul.
Makayla looked at her Father. "Dad... Why couldn't you tell her who you were? Was all that disapearing stuff true?" Scott shook his head. "No, honey. I wouldn't disapear if I told her who I actually was. I had to lie about that. You see... If I had told her, it could have changed everything... We may not have had you, and we may have not ended up together. From what your Mother told me years ago, time travel is very fragile. If you change one thing. Any little thing, the entire fate of one, or tons of people would be at stake of changing entirely."
Makayla tilted her head. "So... What you're saying... Is if you told her your real name and identity, she could go home and confess her feelings to your past self, and you would possably react differently than what you would have when it was suppose to happen naturally?" Scott nodded. "Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying. I don't know how I would have reacted in this time right now. Probably would have acted uncooly, and rejected her because I was afraid. So it's better off if she waits a few years and leaves it be until I confess to her at Kid's 18th birthday party." Makayla chuckled. "You always told me that Uncle Kid's 18th birthday was the best."
Scott chuckled. "That's because Uncle Kid's party is how your Mother and I got together. You see, what happened is sense it was Kid's 18th party, he was obsessing that half of his age was symmetrical, and that the other half wasn't. Your Mother and I couldn't take listening to it anymore, so we left to the balcony sense it was nice and silent outside. It was also a beautiful Harvest Moon." Scott chuckled. "But it wasn't nearly as beautiful as your Mother's eyes."
Makayla's eyes sparkled as she pictured the moment in her mind. Scott smiled lovingly at his daughter. He couldn't help but notice how much she looked like his wife. "We talked for a while about unimportant things... Just keeping eachother company. Then your Mother started to get cold, so I offered her my jacket. And you know as well as I do how stuborn your Mother is... She wouldn't except it, because she said than I would be cold. She thought that she was stupid enough not to bring one, so she would have to suffer." Makayla giggled to herself, knowing that her Mother would do something like that.
"It wouldn't be very cool of me to allow her to freeze, so I moved close to your Mother and put and arm around her so we could share my jacket. She didn't say anything to me. She just kinda smiled." Scott chuckled. "Part of me was expecting a Maka Chop for getting so close to her... But she actually moved closer to me..." Scott smiled and closed his eyes, remembering the moment. "Then it just kind of happened from there. We kissed eachother and told eachother how we felt."
Makayla smiled. "Where you scared, Dad?" Scott nodded. "Of course I was. Rejection isn't a easy thing to go through by any means." Makayla smiled brightly. "And Mom didn't reject you, because she felt the same?" Scott smiled. "That's right, honey. And that's why it needs to happen that way. Otherwise... There's no telling what will happen."
Maka was just about home, when Soul ran into her. His eyes were red, and he had dark circles under his eyes. His eyes widened when he saw Maka. "Maka! Maka! Oh My Death! Maka!" He ran up and hugged his meister tightly to the point were it would be calsified as squeezing.
Maka slowly hugged back the best she could as she was being cconstricted by her weapon. "Soul..." Soul pulled away and held Maka by the shoulders, looking her up and down. "Are you okay? Did someone hurt you? Please don't tell me someone raped you! Are you okay!? Please tell me you're okay! I was worried sick about you!"
Maka was in awe at her partners behavior. She had never seen him act this way before. "I-I'm okay... I was kidnapped, but some nice man came to my rescue and made sure I was okay before he sent me home..." She said softly, trying to keep a calm tone.
Soul's eyes widened. "Kidnapped!?" He growled to himself. "That's it! I'm not leaving you alone anymore! The world is too dangerous for you..." Maka blinked. "Soul, I really think that you're over rea-" Soul cut Maka off before she finished. "No, Maka! I'm not!"
Tears started to run down Soul's face as his voice cracked. Soul never cried. Ever. "'Don't you underatand, Maka!? If I lost you, I would loose my entire world! Woul would I do if you got killed!?" He cried harder and shook Maka gently. "What would I have done without you! Don't scare me like that ever again!" Maka stood there, shocked. "Soul..."
Soul's eyes clouded with sadness. "I don't care if you don't feel the same about me, Maka. But I need you to know how I feel. I love you, Maka. I'm sorry that I couldn't bring myself to say it until now. I was just scared... But it brought me to realized when you were gone that I might never get the chance! I'm sor-"
This time, Maka cut Soul off with her lips, and just like that... History was re-written.
