The chosen Pharaoh

Last time so did Atem call Mahad to battle the White Dragon, but after a long and hard battle so did the White Dragon defeat Mahad. But before Aknadin who possessed Seto could destroy Atem so did Seto regain enough control to stop the dragon from destroying Atem, the dragon then took and banished Aknadin to the world of darkness freeing Seto from his control. But as soon as they could move steadily again so did Zorc appear and they returned to the city and there they soon got their hands on their Millennium items again, but while Atem needed time to regain enough strength to summon the gods so did Shimon summon Exodia, but even though it fought hard so couldn't it beat Zorc but Atem's strength were restored again and he were now about to summon the gods, will they be able to defeat Zorc?

Chapter 16- The gods fall and the final solution

Atem lifted his arm and activated his DiaDhank, he then crossed his arms and began to say the ancient chant, he then lifted his arm, "Now I ask you for your help to conquer this darkness, so now I shall call upon you, the three Egyptian gods, Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon and the Winged Dragon of Ra".

The ground began to tremble with incredible force, cracks appeared in the ground from the force of the trembles, the three god stone tablets glowed and a beam came out from each one of them and flew out of Atem's stone sanctuary.

The red, yellow and blue beams flew towards Zorc and smashed straight in to him so that he fell to the ground before the red and the yellow beams flew up into the sky while the blue beam flew in to the ground, and then Obelisk burst out of the ground while he was growling, then both lightning and sunlight came out of the dark sky as both Slifer and Ra came down and now so were the three gods ready to battle the lord of darkness.

Atem looked at Zorc, "This is it Zorc, either surrender now or you feel the rage of the three Egyptian gods". Zorc turned around and looked at the gods, "So this is the Egyptian gods, well when I am done with them so have you lost all of your hope".

Atem were a little worried over how calm Zorc were even though he was facing the three Egyptian gods together, did Zorc really have power to defeat the three most powerful shadow creatures in the history of this realm?

Atem then remembered that he shouldn't worry about that until it actually happened, he held out his hand, "Alright Obelisk, show him your incredible might now". Obelisk ran over and tackled Zorc, but before the Dark One could fall on the wall around the city so did the war god grab Zorc and turn him around so that Zorc's face were towards the wall while Obelisk's back was facing it. Obelisk then took and gave Zorc a powerful punch in the face which sent the Dark One flying to the ground, Atem and the others shielded themselves from the shockwaves created by the punch.

Atem looked at Zorc as he was picking himself up, "Now Slifer, unleash the heaven's judgment upon this enemy of Egypt". Slifer opened his mouth and blue lightning came out of it and a dome of lightning formed around Zorc and lightning continue to slash across his body while Zorc roared in pain, everyone stared in amazement over how the gods were fighting Zorc. Atem lifted his arm, "Now Ra, use your eternal light to banish Zorc from this world for good".

Ra took and flew up into the dark clouds again, and then a beam of concentrated sunlight came down from the clouds, it flew over the ground and burned the ground before it reached Zorc just as the dome of lightning disappeared, Zorc roared in pain as the beam of sunlight burned him and smoke appeared from his body.

Atem was getting back a bit of his confidence when he saw how the battle were going so far, and he decided that it was time for him to end this battle, "Alright this is it, now Slifer, Ra and Obelisk, combine your powers and finish him off, Fist of Fury, Thunder Force Attack and Ra turn into the Egyptian god Phoenix".

Obelisk charged up his fist with energy and punched Zorc in the chest so that he fell to the ground, he got up on his feet and turned around just as Slifer unleashed his Thunder Force and it hit him with full force and created an explosion that covered more than his whole body and he were a little bigger than Obelisk, the soldiers flew away because of the shockwaves but Atem and the others managed to stand their ground. Zorc fell to the ground again without his left arm and left leg which had been destroyed by Slifer's Attack, his arm and leg began to regenerate when he looked up and saw Ra fly straight at him as he transformed into the Egyptian god Phoenix and then he dove straight into Zorc causing a huge explosion of fire.

Atem and everyone nearby was sent flying by the massive power from the attack, Atem flew into the wall and the others flew across the ground, Atem looked up again and was amazed when he saw the enormous spinning pillar of fire going up into the sky that had been created from Ra's dive bomb attack.

Soon so did the pillar of fire disappear and the god phoenix could be seen again before he transformed back into the Winged Dragon of Ra, everyone began to cheer when they couldn't see Zorc anywhere, Atem wanted to feel safe too but he couldn't, he got a feeling that it had been too easy.

Mana and the others came up to him as he got up on his feet again, Mana smiled brightly at him, "You did it Atem, you defeated Zorc". The others nodded but then they saw the look on Atem's face, Seto asked what was wrong, Atem's eyes narrowed, "He is not gone, he's coming right now".

As Atem said that so did Zorc's arm come up from the ground, everyone gasped in shock and fear, had Zorc really survived the three gods combined assault? Then the sun was being blocked by darkness which got Atem worried, if the darkness spread anymore so would Zorc be impossible to stop.

Atem ordered the gods to strike again while they still had a chance, but as soon as Ra got close enough so did Zorc grab one of his legs, Ra roared and tried to fly away from him but accidently pulled him back up from the ground while Obelisk grabbed him and got lifted up in the air as well. They could see that most of Zorc's body had been destroyed by Ra's attack and that only the chest part of his body as well as his right arm and head were left, but in front of them so did his body regenerate again and soon so were his body whole again.

Slifer took and fired his Lightning Strike at Zorc and Zorc used his left arm to block it and the arm got destroyed again but instantly regenerated again, Atem could feel Zorc's power grow even more and soon so were the sun completely blocked by Zorc, Atem ordered both Slifer and Ra to attack again, Slifer fired his Thunder Force Attack at Zorc while Ra once again transformed into the god phoenix.

Ra circled around Zorc creating a erring of fire while the Thunder Force flew towards him, but Zorc easily blocked the Thunder Force with his hands, "My darkness now surpasses the power of the three gods, now let me show you the true power of the darkness, Dark Slasher".

Waves of dark energy came out from Zorc and destroyed the circle of fire that Ra created, Slifer quickly fired a Thunder Force and destroyed two of the waves but then he got hit by a third one and got turned to stone, Ra managed to destroy four of them before a fifth hit him and he turned back to his dragon form as he turned to stone and both the dragons fell to the ground much to the horror of the people.

Obelisk who was hanging in the air while holding onto Zorc's leg was defenseless and got hit by the first attack and turned to stone and fell to the ground like the other two gods. Atem gritted his teeth, he knew that there were a chance that this could happen, but he never thought that the chance of it happening were very big.

Zorc turned around and laughed while he looked at Atem, "Your Egyptian gods were really powerful, but now they're only shadows of their former selves, now let them grumble together with the last of your hope".

Zorc landed on the ground and stomped on Obelisk and he fell apart, Atem fell down on a knee and held his chest in pain, he realized that even though the gods had been turned to stone so could he still feel pain if something happened to them, Zorc then stomped on Slifer's left front leg and broke it off and Atem held his left arm in pain. Zorc then punched Ra's head and it fell off the body and to the ground and now so were Atem on all four in much pain, he looked up and saw that Zorc turned around towards him and formed a huge fireball in his hands, Atem gritted his teeth, but he hadn't given up just yet, since the gods couldn't defeat Zorc so he had no other choice now, he had to use that spell.

"Take this Pharaoh, Zorc Inferno", Zorc threw the enormous fireball towards Atem and the others, the soldiers were about to run when Atem got up on his feet again, "Don't be afraid, I won't let him hurt any of you". The Millennium Puzzle glowed and Atem chanted a spell, a golden shield formed in front of them and it managed to block the fireball to the shock of everyone.

Zorc chuckled, "Well you're not called the chosen Pharaoh without reason, but not even your magical power will last long against me". Atem didn't answer him and Mana noticed that he was chanting another spell, but as he continued she got a bad feeling as she felt the spell activating.

Zorc suddenly roared in what seemed like pain and a golden light appeared around both him and Atem, Atem went down on his right knee as he was gasping and Zorc went down on all four while he felt that his power was getting drained. Zorc looked at Atem, "What are you doing to me Pharaoh?"

Atem looked up at Zorc with a smirk on his face, "I'm doing what I'm supposed to do, I'm going to defeat you even if it means that I will go with you". Everyone gasped in shock and fear and Mana ran up to him, "What do you mean, what are you doing?" Atem looked at her with a sad smile on his face, "If I can't destroy Zorc then I will have to do the next best thing, I'm going to seal him away".

Mana looked at him in shock and then with a worried look on her face, "But is there a spell that can hold him?" Atem nodded, "There is one, the ultimate sealing spell, it is powerful enough to hold even the Dark One but there is a price for using it, the one casting the spell have to give up his own life in order to use it".

Mana looked at him in horror and tears were building up in her eyes, "Atem no, don't, you can't leave me and our child here alone". Atem got an even sadder look on his face, "I wish I could do it differently but this is the only chance we have".

Zorc roared one more time before he turned into dark energy and was sucked into the puzzle, everyone looked at the puzzle in shock, knowing that the Dark One were now trapped inside of it.

Atem were gasping and everyone gathered around him, he looked at Seto and Isis, "Seto, when I'm gone you will take the throne as the new Pharaoh and Isis, I will ask you to protect my memories". Everyone looked shocked at him when he said that, he looked at all of them, "I may have sealed Zorc now but he won't be sealed forever, someday someone is going to try and set the darkness free again, and at that time I have to be there to stop it again, so I will seal my own soul inside of the Millennium Puzzle as well, then I will erase my own memories and then you have to shatter the puzzle into pieces".

Everyone looked at him in even more shock, Seto stepped forward, "Why are you going to erase your memories?" Atem looked at him, "In order to set Zorc free again 8 keys are needed, first the seven items and then my name, I used it as a key component to seal Zorc away, so you will have to erase all of my personal information, scripts, carvings and other things there someone could find out what my name could be, the only place my name can remain is in my own tomb".

Mana looked at him with sadness in her eyes, "If you will have to fight Zorc again then won't it be better to keep your memories?" Atem shook his head, "Having my memories can put the world in more danger than helping it so this is how it has to be".

They told him that they understood and would do as they were told, Seto said that once he was Pharaoh he would make a law that forbid people from saying Atem's name or keep any record of it and he would be known as the Nameless Pharaoh, Mana got tears in her eyes and wondered if he thought he could defeat Zorc the next time.

Atem smiled and nodded, "Yes because then I will have help from a person who will be my equal or even my superior, when that person appears he will be able to solve the Millennium Puzzle and my spirit will join his and we will fight the power of the shadow realm together".

Atem told Isis and Seto that in order to restore his memories the three gods will have to be facing the tablet of lost memories together with the person who was the owner of the puzzle which would contain his spirit, after he finished explaining so did the light die out from the puzzle and the glow around Atem disappeared and he fell to the ground. Mana quickly turned him around and when she saw that he was gone she broke down, Seto stood up and ordered everyone to honor the memory of Pharaoh Atem, the Pharaoh that saved the world from destruction.

A FEW MONTHS LATER,

Seto had just finished making the tablet of lost memories and he had given his Millennium Rod to Isis so that she and her family could use the power of the rod and the necklace to protect the tomb of the Nameless Pharaoh.

As for Mana, Seto had made sure that she would be able to live a normal life as would her child once it was born, she had checked with her magic to find out that it was a boy, she had said that once her son were old enough she would tell him the story of his father.

For Atem so had his body been placed in his tomb and next to him was the box with the shattered Millennium Puzzle, Seto had wished Atem good luck in the future when he would once again confront the power of the shadows.

5 000 YEARS LATER,

It had now passed five millennia and so far had no one been able to solve or even find the Millennium Puzzle, that is not until Solomon Muto found the ancient tomb of the Nameless Pharaoh and managed to take the box from it, he later gave it to his 8 year old grandson Yugi Muto as a test to see if he could solve it.

It took him eight years but Yugi managed to put the Puzzle back together and so did his spirit get joined together with the spirit of Atem, however Atem had no memories of who he was or where he came from, and together so did he and Yugi face many hard challenges together, like the dangerous Pegasus who were the new owner of the Millennium Eye in order to save Yugi's grandpa's soul.

They later found out that Atem were an ancient Pharaoh that saved the world from destruction and in order to do it again they needed to restore Atem's lost memories, they later found out about the Egyptian gods that had been reborn into the modern world as cards as well as the rest of the ancient shadow games.

They learned that the three god cards were needed in order to restore Atem's memories and fought in the battle city tournament in order to win them which they later did, then they fought against the power of the Orichalcos and the Great Leviathan and finally they would get the chance to restore Atem's memories, which they later on succeeded on and destroyed Zorc once and for all with the help of their friends Tea, Tristan and Joey as well. Later on Yugi and Atem had the Ceremonial Duel that would decide Atem's fate, if he won, he would stay with Yugi and the gang since his work in the world of the living wasn't over, but if he lost, he would be free to return to the spirit world there he belonged. So after a long and intense duel so were Yugi victorious and Atem took and returned to his friends and family, now finally after thousands of years so could his spirit finally rest in peace since he had fulfilled his destiny with the help of Yugi and his friends and now so were he finally free to spend the rest of eternity with his friends and loved ones.
