"Thanks for inviting me to come with you guys!" Keesh said as they had bags strung on their arms. It was Saturday and Zoey, Danielle, Keesh, and Veronica were out spending the day together. "I totally needed a break from all the wedding planning." Danielle smiled.
"Me too. Greg has been such a pain I swear I was about to kick him." Zoey looked back and then at all the bags in their hands.
"Hard to believe we were only in two stores." She said.
"That's cause we spent the most time in hot topic." Veronica countered.
"We raided their dress and sales racks!" Danielle said with a laugh.
"You went for such 50s inspired looks Dani." Zoey said
"And then in Delias you went preppy." Keesh added.
"And anything Harry Potter." Added Veronica.
"I will not say I'm sorry." Danielle said with a smile. "Simply because I am not." She stuck her tongue out
"Although that black mesh maxi was awesome." Veronica said.
"So was that black acid wash denim dress." Zoey agreed.
"Don't make it seem like I have no taste." Danielle joked."And that corset dress you got Zoe, beautiful."
"Well thank you." Zoey said with a nod. "We should go out. Ronnie can wear that black dress with the overall straps and the chains. I'll wear the corset dress, Dani the acid dress and Keesh the one with the skull in the back in lace."
"Good idea. But I'm hungry." Keesh said.
"Me too." Veronica agreed and they made their way to the food court. Everyone put their bags down and Zoey said she'd watch them as they ordered. Danielle promised to bring her food. So Zoey sat down and waited.
"Zoey?" Came a voice from behind her. She looked up to see none other than her estranged friend and Danielle's ex boyfriend Henry.
"Oh my god! Hi!" She said getting up and hugging Henry. "It's been forever! How have you been?"
"Well I finished nursing school," Henry said. "And I'm doing my internship, my 'boss' is a total asshole though, I don't even know how he manged to get into a career like this with his sarcasm and attitude."
"Well that sucks." Zoey said. "Where do you work anyways, and are you and Beatrice still together?"
"No, actually we broke up a few months ago." He said with a sigh. "I've been meaning to talk to you though, I've missed you but I've been so busy... So what are you up to? By the looks of those purses and bags you're not here alone."
"Oh that sucks. I'm sorry to hear you two broke up." Zoey said. "And Nope, Having a girls day. We all needed it. So where'd ya say you're interning?"
"I'm working at Princeton Plainsburo Teaching Hospital." Henry said.
And who's your boss?" She said, although she was positive she knew who it was.
"A guy named Gregory House." Henry said. "He's such a jerk, and he hasn't even showed up to work these past two weeks, the whole hospitals been going into chaos, yet thanks to that, they boosted my pay. I think he was just blowing it off. Doesn't seem like it would be out of character."
"Oh," Zoey said. "No, he's been out because he got into a motorcycle accident a couple weeks ago. Spent a few days in the hospital himself and just got back home. And he's really not that bad once you get used to him." She gave a small smile.
"Really?" Henry said, skeptical. "I feel like he just took time off. You act like you know him."
"Uhmm hahaha..." Zoey said as she laughed nervously, unsure of what she should say exactly.
"Anyways," Henry said. "If you want we can go out sometime and hang out. Kinda like old times." Zoey looked over as Danielle came back, not noticing her ex.
"Hey Zoe, I got ya food!" Danielle said coming over. "Thanks for watching the bags" She noticed Henry as he turned around. "Oh..." There was a short, awkward silence. She gave Henry a tight lipped smile. "Hey Henry. Hows life been?"
"Hi Danielle..." He said, uncomfortable. It's been well. Got an internship at Princeton Plainsburo Teaching Hospital.. You know nursing.. And yeah... How about you?"
"I've been really good." Danielle said. "About to graduate fashion school. And that's great for you. It's a great hospital. Tons of Amazing doctors there." She smiled at the last part. "But then again I'm biased." She gave a small laugh.
"Yeah," Henry said scoffing. "Amazing if you go for the arrogant asshole type." Danielle glared at him.
"Well," She said, short and cut-off. "Apparently I do." She put the food down and her arms crossed over her chest. "I assume you are talking about Gregory correct?"
"Why?" Asked Henry. "You know him?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Uh oh." Zoey said, seeing what was coming at them, like a speeding train.
"Yes I do actually." Danielle said leaning a bit to the side with attitude. "Very well in fact."
"Oh really?" Henry asked. "How well?"
"Oh look Dani," said Zoey trying to avoid what was happening and defuse the situation. "The girls are coming back as well and they have smoothies! Oh my god! Lets go get some!"
"Sure in a sec Zoe." Danielle said looking at her best friend for a second and then turned her attention back to Henry. "He's been my boyfriend for almost a year now."
"You've actually held a relationship for a year?" Henry said, eyebrows raised. "Good job. Congrats." Zoey can tell Danielle's getting annoyed. She noticed her nostrils flare.
"Yes. Thanks." Danielle says with clear attitude. "I am capable of doing that, as long as the guy doesn't act like a major asshole jerk."
"Uhm," Zoey said, the awkward tension getting worse. "Lets go get some smoothies before they run out of freebies Dani come on!" Zoey grabs her best friends hand as the other girls get there.
"Go ahead," Henry said. "I've gotta go anyways," He leans past Danielle and hugs Zoey, clearly pissing Danielle off. "Take care of yourself, I'll call you sometime so we can hang out, I've really missed you." Henry said. "See ya Danielle. Good luck with your new toy House."
"You're just jealous." Danielle said, eyes narrowing. "He's good at what he does. Just be careful he doesn't figure out who you are."
"Sure, sure." Henry said with a laugh as he walked away. "See ya."
"Uhm.." Keesh said. "Was that...?"
"We'll see what happens!" Danielle called.
"Henry?" Zoey said. Keesh nodded. "Yup."
"Oh my god, what did he say?" Keesh said putting down their food. "Dani? Does he want you back or something?"
"I highly doubt it." Danielle said with a laugh.
"You look really annoyed Dani." Veronica said. "I'm confused. Who was that?"
"My ex Henry," Danielle said. "The guy I dated after William."
"Oohh." Veronica said caught up. "But why was he talking to you though?"
"Yeah." Said Keesh, "I'd be trying to avoid my ex, not talking to them."
"He came up to me." Zoey said. "Dani happened by with out food."
"All I was saying," Said Danielle. "Is if Greg finds out he's my ex, his life is going to get tons worse."
"How come?" Veronica asked.
"Oh come on," Zoey said. "House definitely looks like the jealous type. And what about me Henry and I used to be so close and it looks like he wants to start that up now that hes not dating, and Chase may not look like it, but he is the super jealous type. I'm dead."
"I mean he did just kinda stop talking to you when he dumped me for Beatrice..." Danielle said. "Do you really want him back? And on Greg's jealousy.. he uhm.. threatened William he's kill him if he ever touched me again.
And it's not really even jealousy. It's that Henry hurt me. So yeah. I won't tell him, but Greg does end up knowing everything..."
"I have no idea," Zoey said with a sigh. "I'm too nice for my own good, and maybe he needs,me... I don't know. I think were better off hiding this encounter with our guys..."
"Yeah. Sweetie." Danielle said, hand on her best friends shoulder. "Just remeber that he just kinda stopped talking to you for her."
"I know, I know." Zoey said.
"Lets eat though." Keesh said. "I'm starving."
"Ooh!" Zoey said. "Wait! Wait, I gotta go get a smoothie." She ran away.
"HEY!" Danielle called after her. "WAIT FOR ME!" They went and got their free smoothies. When Danielle and Zoey returned, veronica looked up.
"I was just talking about you Zoe." She said. "I was saying I loved the skull and peace bra you got."
"Well thank you." Zoey said. "And you got stars, which are awesome."
"Stars are her thing." Danielle said. "And can we not forget that Zoey did buy My Little Pony bra and panties."
"Dani," keesh said, swallowing her food. "You bought a beauty and the beast set."
"Along with a roses set. And I regret nothing." Danielle said.
"Why did you get them anyways." Zoey asked through a mouth full of food as she swallowed. "You don't need anything sexy for at least another week.
"Doesn't mean I wont need them." Danielle said with a wink. "Besides, we shouldn't be talking about me. We need to talk about Keesh." She looked at her. "I mean we need to buy you some wedding night undies. Like a cute little bra with 'bride' in rhinestones."
"Or a cute nightie and sheer robe with a rhinestone 'bride'." Veronica said.
"Don't forget the white little thong that says bride." Zoey said. "AND we need to get her a fuzzy feather thong for her bachelorette."
"Oh Kay you guys." Keesh said. "Have fun now but wait till yours comes."
"Oh please." Zoey said. "If Dani and House get engaged, at her bachelorette, I'm bringing some strippers."
"Will House be ok with that?" Veronica. Danielle looked her straight in the eyes.
"What part if your delusional mind thinks that Greg won't have strippers at his bachelor party?" Danielle asked. If he can have them, so can I."
"Sounds fair enough for me." Zoey said standing as they finished. "Come on. We need to get Keesh her things."
"So Ronnie." Danielle said. "we might have to go to Victoria's secret."
