A/N: Alright, before we begin, i need to apologize for the wait. I have been working like crazy and with the holidays, it really isn't going to change before the new year. i'm so sorry. i'm working alot until then. Please bear with me!
"Wait what?" Wilson said, shaking his head, as if he heard wrong.
"Don't make me say it again. Danielle is late. You know what that means." Said House.
"What are you going to do?" Wilson asked.
"I honestly don't know." House replied. "I've never taken care of a kid before."
"Maybe it's about time. Not that you're exactly mature enough to."
"I'm plenty mature," Replied House. Wilson raised his eyebrow. "Ok... So I'm not mature. You happy?"
"Not exactly. But there's pretty much only two choices." Wilson said with a shrug from his seat on the couch. House waited for him to continue.
"... Which are?" House said looking at him
"The mature one and step up, or the immature on and run." Wilson said plainly.
"I've never been one to run away..." House said, slightly offended.
"No you just fill my office with chickens." Wilson said with an eye roll.
"You deserved it, I clearly should have won that bet." House said with a straight face.
"Not my fault Cuddy found out."
"Shut up." House said. Wilson shrugged. "Now try and help me with my problem. I came to you for a reason, you know."
"How do you want me to help you with this?" Wilson asked, both eyebrows raised this time.
"I don't know. Give me advice... You're the sensible one." House said. "What if she is pregnant? I don't know how to be a dad."
"I'd say be yourself, but we both know that's a bad idea." Wilson said, trying to lighten the mood. It sorta failed.
"what's that supposed to mean?" He asked
"We both know you're not the best influence." Wilson said. House scoffed.
"Name one time I've done something of bad influence."
"Vicodin." Wilson said. House winced slightly and Wilson thought that for half a second, House was about to hit him with his cane, or throw a stapler at him. Or even just flat out attack him. Even though he my not look it, House was stronger than you'd think.
"... Touche..." House said. He sighed and rubbed his eyes with the balls of his palms.
"Either way you'll be fine. You're a brilliant doctor." Wilson said, trying to cheer up his friend. Normally he'd make a joke about how House was turning human, but now wasn't the time. Wilson knew that this was actually scaring House.
"I may be a doctor but... I don't think I'd be very good as a parent." He sighed. "I don't want my kid to have a drug addict for a father."
"But you've been clean though..." Wilson said. It was true. House had been clean for a year and a half. And for the last year, He hasn't had any cravings. "And what does Danielle want?" House sat silent for a while.
"I don't know..." He sighed. "She hasn't said anything."
"What do you think she's going to do?" Wilson asked.
"Knowing her, she will definitely keep it, although," He said with a small shake of his head and another sigh. "I don't know how much faith she has in me." Wilson gave him a look. "She was hesitant to tell me."
"Maybe she was just worried how'd you'd react." Wilson reasoned.
"Maybe." house said before his pager went off. He looked at it and left, without another word.
I hope you all like this. I need to apologize again for the long wait. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, tell me! I'm open. Till next time, unlimited red velvet cupcakes for reviewers!
