Deep, dark thoughts flood my brain as the loud orchestra pounds into my ears. What if I'm never saved? Are my friends still safe?
Suddenly, I hear a two faint voices having a conversation. I can't really tell what they're saying or who they are. Maybe Oktavia would know.
I get off the bed and leave to see her looking at the screen more carefully than before.
"Hey, is someone here?"
"Hold on a second," she tells me as she raises her hand in front of me.
Then, the sounds of quiet foot steps come in. They sound like they are starting to get closer and closer.
"Someone's here," Oktavia says followed by the sound of a loud slam.
The doors at the front of the room that appears on the screen suddenly open and I see two small figures. A red one and a pink one. Madoka and Kyoko . . . came?
The door is then blocked off by turquoise figures that appear to be playing the violin. Madoka kneels down looking anxious as Kyoko stands bravely and determined next to her.
"Prepare yourself, Sayaka," Oktavia suddenly says to me, "This will be quite the show for you."
I just stood frozen, shocked by what was happening.
"Ready?" Kyoko asks Madoka, "Do it like we planned."
"Okay," Madoka replies nervously.
What are they planning? Why is Madoka doing whatever it is?
Madoka steps forth towards the witch, shaking and trembling.
"Sayaka, it's me Madoka. Can you hear me? Do you recognize my voice?"
They're trying to help me.
Madoka, of course I recognize your voice. How could I forget my best friend?
Oktavia suddenly has a mischievous look on her face. She raises her arm and points it at Madoka. Madoka steps back a little, looking even more scared than she was before. I know what Oktavia is doing. I can't let her hurt any those two.
"NO!" I shout at her.
But then, Kyoko dashes in front of Madoka and pushes her out of the way.
"Don't be scared!" she commands, "Keep shouting out to her!"
Kyoko then makes a barrier appear in front of Madoka. Thank goodness she's being protected.
"Sayaka, stop. Please remember!" Madoka pleads as Kyoko prepares herself to fight.
I'm not the one doing this though. And I do remember. I wish I could just reach out to you and tell you.
Madoka pleads more as Kyoko blocks Oktavia's attacks. She tries to mumble a few things, but the exertion of all the pressure she releases causes her to yell.
"There's a limit to how stubborn you should be, Sayaka!" she says fighting off a bunch of wooden wheels.
"Don't take that one personally, Sayaka," Oktavia tells me, smiling as she raises her hand, causing a lot more wheels to appear.
Kyoko stands there, frozen. Then, the wheels hit her and the barrier, creating a huge cloud of smoke.
As the smoke was clearing up, I notice that the barrier in front of Madoka broke. Madoka kneels there, coughing.
"Kyoko!" she yells, worried.
Kyoko then appears after the smoke is cleared up. She pushes away a wheel next to her and tries to stand up straight. She appears to be injured and weakened but inside she is still strong.
"I'm fine," she says, "I'm not even breaking a sweat yet. You just keep calling out to Sayaka."
Kyoko then prepares herself for more impact and creates another barrier for Madoka.
"These two are ruthless. Do they ever give up?" Oktavia complains preparing to attack as Madoka keeps begging me to stop.
Kyoko tries to block all of Oktavia's attacks, but she keeps getting hit. Madoka still pleads in behind the barrier. Oktavia is still attacking. Everything that is going is making me so frustrated. I have to do something.
Oktavia raises up her hand to attack again, but I stop her in the middle of it. She struggles for me to let go as I keep trying to stop her.
"I won't let you hurt my friends!" I tell her still struggling.
Eventually, she gets me to let go and pushes me onto the floor. I try to get back up, but a strong force is keeping me down. She then faces back to the screen and attacks Kyoko more.
"Do not interfere with me," she demands.
In the state I am in now, the only thing I can do is watch the two get hurt.
Soon, a wheel hits Kyoko so hard, it causes her to fly into the barrier, shattering it. Madoka reaches to Kyoko, sobbing.
"Now I've got you," Oktavia cheers, smirking.
She reaches out her hand. My eyes widen as a giant metal hand grabs Madoka and brings it up to the witch's face. Madoka sobs and trembles in the witch's hand.
"Sayaka," she sobs, closing her eyes.
Then, Kyoko appears right in front of the witch and slices off her hand.
In front of me, I see Oktavia's hand start to burn off as she stares at it in shock.
"Didn't you tell me you would use your power to make people happy?" Kyoko questions frustrated.
Oktavia then looks back at the screen and swings her other hand, making the witch swing her sword at Kyoko.
Not being able to hold in my frustration anymore, I grab Oktavia's leg. She turns around and struggles for me to let go.
"Sayaka! Stop!" she demands angrily.
"No! I won't let you hurt my friends anymore!"
"She doesn't know you Sayaka," she grunts, "I'm the only one who knows you here! I am all of your grief and despair put into one! So I know what you've been through! I know how you hate Kyoko. So I shall get rid of her for you!"
"No! I won't let you! Because . . .
Kyoko is my FRIEND!"
The floor suddenly breaks and everything starts shaking. Everything falls to a lower floor. The screen shows Kyoko falling in front of the witch, bleeding from her stomach. It makes me even more angry than I was before.
The witch hits the floor, making everything shake. Oktavia falls down and loses a little bit of control of her powers. I get up a little and pin her down onto the floor to make sure she can't do much. Struggling, to keep her down, I continue to watch the screen.
Everything then hits the floor except for Madoka, who didn't appear to be falling at all. Where did she go? Is she safe?
After a few seconds of worrying, dark figure floats down, with Madoka in it's arms.
Kyoko then drops her spear, making a loud noise. The figure turns around, showing Homura Akemi's face.
"Kyoko!" she shouts.
The spear behind Kyoko turns into flames, and Kyoko stands up.
"Hey," she says, "You take care of her for me. I was an idiot for dragging her into this."
"Kyoko," I say quietly.
She forms a barrier for Homura and Madoka.
"You said you wouldn't fight when weighed down a burden, right?" she says, "That's fine and you're right. Just focus on the one thing that you really want to protect."
She giggles.
"It's funny. That's what I thought I was doing," she says, pulling out the ribbon that held her ponytail. A small golden object flies out and she takes it in mid-air.
"Go," she tells Homura, kneeling down, "I'll take care of her."
Purple and blue flames appear around Kyoko as Homura runs off with Madoka. Spears that were about the height of the witch burst out of the floor, one lifting Kyoko so that she in the witch's sight.
"Don't worry Sayaka. You don't have to be alone anymore. I'll be with you."
Kyoko takes off her soul gem and kisses it. She throws it into the air and stands up. She then brings out her spear and points it directly at the soul gem. The soul gem shatters into tiny pieces, causing a giant, red explosion.
Oktavia screams underneath me. I look back at her and she bursted into flames. She was gone. Forever. I push myself up to kneel. I was by myself in the room.
Kyoko just died . . . so that I wouldn't be alone.
I start to sob. I'm so stupid. All this wouldn't have happened if it weren't for me.
Later, I hear footsteps behind me. I look back and I see Kyoko standing there, smiling. I wipe my tears and look at her, shocked. She takes her hand out of her pocket and holds a food bar in front of me. I take a good look at it and look back at her smiling face. Instead of taking the food bar, I grab her wrist and stand up. She face becomes surprised and I smile at her.
"Thank you, Kyoko, my friend."
