Awake in a Strange Place

Manhattan. A place that does not know the words "stop" or "sleep". Cars hurry down the streets and people dodge them to cross over to the other side. People walk in groups because there's little room on the sidewalks in the afternoon. In every inch of the city, noises fill the city air. The sound of cars honking their horns and moving through the city, people talking on their cell phones and with their friends. Never ending noise.

Looking toward the Chrysler Building, anyone in New York could see Tony Stark's almost completely reconstructed business building or at least that is what everyone thought it still was. The outside looked like the original building before it had been destroyed in the recent invasion of the Chitauri army. The outside still has the original sheen like that of silver metal. The circular deck where Iron Man lands and walks into the building is still there. Everything about it had been replaced to its original, outward appearance, except for the name on the side of the deck. Instead of Tony's last name being plastered onto his property, the only letter that now remains is a single A. Little did the people of New York realize that Stark is not going to put the other letters back. In fact, the A is all that is needed now.

Inside, on the main upper floor, where the deck is connected, is a big, open room with a couple of recliners and couches. On the far wall is Tony's old bar, fixed and restocked with all sorts of expensive French wines and American whiskies, since the Hulk rammed Loki into the liquor that was sitting on the shelves. Connected to the main room is a hall that leads to several white doors. Behind the third door to the right is a room, which has a bed that was being occupied by Angela Darksaber herself. With both arms resting at her sides, she opens her eyes to see a white painted ceiling. She blinks a couple of time slowly.

What happened? Wait…the battle above Yavin . Was it a dream? Is that why I aminmybed, staring at my ceiling? Angela's eyes widen. That doesn't look like my ceiling!

Using her hands that are resting near her sides, she slowly pushes herself upright in the bed. A sudden, dull pain shoots through her lower body. "AH!" She yells in pain to herself while she finishes sitting upright in bed and hanging her feet over the one side. Looking at the bed she is on, she states to herself, "This isn't my bed either." She looks around the room. "And this room is definitely not mine."

Keeping her eyes closed, she runs in her mind the events that had taken place. Angela takes several deep, slow breaths. Her present thought of where she might be and her feelings of pain shooting sharply through her body melt away, leaving her with a clear mind to remember what happened.

I was above Yavin, flying in my Starfighter. Flashes of her memory show her in her Starfighter, flying towards a group of Imperial cruisers and super star destroyers. Skywalker was on my left in his X-Wing. Another image flashes of Skywalker laughing at his remark of reading her thoughts for the twenty-seventh time. Luke, you jokester. You were to my left. We went into the battlefield, blasting one droid fighter after another.More pictures flashes quickly of her firing at the enemy, with Luke right behind her hardly shooting anything down. We were talking about how manyfighterswehadshot downso far, when something happened. She sees an image of her getting hit by blaster fire, but the next images she sees are moving too fast and are too blurred to distinguish anything in them. Her head starts to pound loudly with her own heartbeat while drops of sweat roll down her face. Not being able to take the pounding any longer, she opens her eyes while taking in a big breath of air, which causes some more pain to spread throughout her midsection. However, she holds in the cry of pain and slowly breathes out, which seems to help the pain dissipate away.

After the pain vanishes, she looks around the room and sees what looks like a door that would lead out of the room. She moves her head and looks straight in front of her to see what looked like a desk made of wood, sitting along the far wall. Angela turns her head back to look directly at the door.

I'm guessing that is my way out of here. She starts to stand on her feet, when another sudden pain shoots through her lower torso, more agonizing than the last one. Oooowwww! Her face grimaces when the pain goes through her body, but by the time the pain is gone, she is standing straight and on both of her feet. That really hurt. I must have crash landed really hard or hit my body against the controls of the cockpit area. While thinking this, she walks slowly to the door while holding onto her left side, which shoots pain every time she moves her left leg to walk.

Finally, she reaches the door, and continues to walk right into it. THUMP! The wooden door stands in place while she staggers back a couple steps. Angela stares blankly at the door.

What? She walks right back up to the wooden door and stares at it, wondering what is going on. Why didn't the door slide open? It looks solid,so it should move. Maybe there's a secret to opening it.

Looking from the top of the door, Angela works her way down with her left hand, feeling for a hidden button or something to open the door. She continues down, until her eyes see the round metal ball on the right side of the door. Maybe…. She puts her left hand on the knob. Nothing happens. She twists her wrist and feels the knob turn with her hand. I can't believe that doors are opened like this. Well, I'm not on Yavin, that'sfor sure. The knob stops turning with Angela's hand. She pulls slowly back on the knob, pulling the whole door with it. Not hearing anything outside the door, she opens it all the way. Being cautious, she slowly walks out, looking in both directions. Down the right end of the hall was an elevator, but to the left, Angela could see big, broad windows.

I'll go to the windows to see which planet I'm exactly on. Besides, I don't know whether this planet is still Imperial or not. I must not run into anybody until I find my lightsabers. She looks down at her belt where the sabers would normally be. Nobody touches my lightsabers without my permission. Looking in both directions one more time, she walks up the hall, towards the windows that were letting in the bright light of the sun.
