Spinner had a bad habit of falling asleep with his gaming headset on. One minute he was a renowned virtual chef the next he was waking up to sharp pain in his eyes. He knew it wasn't good to fall asleep wearing it but sometimes he didn't even realize he had fallen asleep. After jolting awake from his bed he heard a familiar voice, taking the headset off revealed two anxious green eyes. Redness had formed around them from tears that had marked their trial down his face.
"S-Stanford?" Spinner stammered, "dude you scared me."
"I-I'm sorry. Can I stay in your room?"
"What?!"
"Can I stay here? I'm…I'm scared to go back to my room. I don't wanna be alone."
Spinner was slightly annoyed, he had just asked Sage to give him and his brother separate rooms. Now someone else was coming in to sleep in his new room but then he remembered that day they had been in the soccer zone. Stanford's true feelings had come out, he had suspected Stanford's cocky soccer star persona was fake but he didn't think after peeling it back he'd find someone who was just as scared as he was. He kinda related to Stanfords insecurities, having to live in his brothers shadow.
"…hey I have an idea. Come with me." He lead Stanford out to the gaming room, "if you go back to sleep you'll probably just have a nightmare. Let's play a fun game and then you'll sleep better."
"I'm not very good at these."
"So? Not everything is a competition. We're just gonna have fun." He told him throwing him a controller.
After a while Stanford found Spinner was so easy to talk to. He felt safe opening up to him, "Man you must of have had it pretty bad." Spinner said,
"My parents are probably the reason I have a lot of these issues. When I was ten they brought me to a psychiatrist and he told my parents he thought I might have an anxiety disorder." Stanford kept his eyes on the game in front of him as he told his story. "They basically said that I didn't because I had a roof over my head, and a lot of toys."
"Yeesh. I know what that's like but I'm glad my parents understood my issues." Spinner told sighed,
"I wish me and Simon had the relationship you have with Sherman."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah I wanna tell him I love him and that I want to be closer but…I feel like a budon on him."
"Your not a burden!"
"But I am….he did so much for me when we were growing up. He stood up for me, he shared his clothes with me, and he helped me pick out my name."
"Where did the name Stanford come from anyways?"
"Stanford Rhodes was an old dead relative. Simon said it suited me and I wanted a name where the initials were "sir" like his. I thought that was so cool….I thought my brother was so cool. I wanted to be just like him."
"You should tell him."
"He'll laugh at me."
"Or…he'll be flattered. I'm sure he wants to hear from you but he's scared of reaching out too."
Stanford leaned down and rested against Spinner, "your an amazing big brother."
Spinner wrapped his arm around his bro, and it wasn't long until the two of them fell asleep. The next day Vert chuckled at the pair who were blissfully resting on the couch.
Sherman joined him, "how long do you think they've been like this?"
"I don't know but better let 'em rest in for now."
