Chapter no.47 : Sabrina

Night had fallen upon Saffron City where the Moon, masked by clouds, diffused a whitish glow yet the entire city was lit up by the lights of the buildings as if it was saying that in Saffron City there is no sleep.

...

[ Saffron City - Pokemon Center ]

The cafeteria of the Pokemon Center was bustling with activity as trainers of all ages and skill levels milled about, chatting excitedly and digging into their meals. In one corner of the room, a group of particularly animated trainers had gathered, their voices rising and falling as they recounted the incredible feats of a young, yellow-haired girl who had recently stirred quite a storm in the streets of Saffron.

"I heard she took down a fully evolved Charizard with just a Tentacool!" said one trainer, his eyes wide with amazement.

"Yeah, and she didn't even have to use any special moves. Just pure strategy and understanding of her Pokemon's abilities," another trainer chimed in.

"I was at the battle, it was truly incredible to see. She's like a Pokemon whisperer or something," a third trainer added.

"Fifty consecutive wins with unevolved Pokemon? That's insane!" exclaimed a fourth.

As they spoke, their eyes shone with excitement and admiration, their hands gesturing wildly as they recounted the details of her battles. They spoke of her incredible strategy and her seemingly innate understanding of her Pokemon's strengths and weaknesses, and how she had managed to win an astonishing fifty consecutive battles with unevolved Pokemon.

"I wish I could learn from her, I've never even come close to that kind of streak," said a young trainer, who was taking notes as the others spoke.

The group was varied, with trainers from all around the world, from young kids to the elder trainers who have been in the game for decades, all of them were in awe of the yellow-haired girl's skills. Some of them had even been lucky enough to witness her battles firsthand, and they regaled their companions with thrilling accounts of her quick thinking and lightning-fast reflexes.

"She's like a prodigy, I've never seen anything like it," said one trainer, shaking his head in disbelief.

The air was thick with the sounds of excited chatter, punctuated by the occasional cheer or exclamation as the trainers relived the girl's greatest moments. Some were even taking notes and trying to get tips from eyewitnesses on how to improve their skills.

As the conversation continued, it became clear that this yellow-haired girl had captured the hearts and minds of the entire Pokemon battling community of Saffron, if only they knew that the genius they were calling the next Champion and as an inspiration to them had only battled to pay for some pokemon food.

[ Saffron City - Public Trainer Field ]

In the west of Saffron City, one could find an arena; large and open, with high walls and a domed ceiling that let in streams of sunlight, casting the entire space in a warm, golden glow. The floor was made of polished wood and was divided into several different fields, each one surrounded by a low wall and a rope barrier.

This was a Public Trainer Field that had been built by Silph Cooperation when they tried to promote their new invention; TMs to the world.

Inside one of the public trainer fields, a girl with blonde hair slept with a straw hat covering her face.

The lights flickered and danced across the field, casting long shadows as a figure emerged from the shadows, his eyes burning with crimson light, he wore a tight-fitting turtle neck sweater that clung to his body, if one squinted their eyes, they could see the outline of the tattoos that covered his body.

The figure approached the sleeping girl and poked her arm.

" Hmm, Five more minutes," Yellow exclaimed in her sleep as Austin suddenly grabbed her shoulders.

" Kyaaa !" Yellow woke up with a scream that caused the sleeping pidgeys on the rooftop to wake up and glare at the duo while Dratini looked left to right scared out of its mind.

Yellow stopped screaming when she realized that it was just Austin who woke her up.

" Oh, Ash, Is breakfast ready ?" Yellow asked innocently before she realized where she was.

Suddenly everything came back to Yellow's mind.

She was supposed to get the Pokemon food.

She was supposed to make enough money to pay for the Pokemon food.

Oh no!

Yellow could feel the sweat starting to bead on her forehead, her heart pounding in her chest as she struggled to say something.

Austin just smiled," I got to say; 0-50 consecutive pokemon battles won, impressive."

Austin's words caused yellow to blush before the realization set in and Austin could see the look of sheer terror on Yellow's face who wore her emotions on her sleeves.

" A, Ash, I-I-I ... " Yellow scrambled to form words but couldn't as she had essentially told Ash that she would be the responsible one.

And she blew it. Not only did she spend all the money that he gave her but she couldn't even make up for her mistake.

Yellow suddenly covered her face with her straw hat out of embarrassment.

She closed her eyes but suddenly she smelled a whiff.

" Yellow, can you look at me ?" Austin asked in a sincere voice causing Yellow to shake as Austin slowly removed her straw hat.

Yellow's tear-filled eyes meet Austin's crimson eyes.

" ( ~ Sniff ~ ) Y, Y, You aren't mad."

" Why would I be mad ?"

" Because I messed up."

" Yellow; we all mess up, that's a part of being human. Even if you did mess up, did you not try to fix it ?"

" ( ~ Sniff ~ ) y, yeah."

" Now let's go, I got the pokemon food," Austin said as he pulled up the bags of food both humans and pokemon in his hands.

" You got everything !" Yellow exclaimed in shock as Austin handed over a red mochi bun to her.

" Yeah, I know you wanted to try the new mochi flavor so I got some."

Yellow's gaze fixed upon the small, round mochi in her hand. The sweet glutinous rice ball was still warm, and the sweet aroma of freshly-made mochi filled her senses. But as she stared at it, her lip began to quiver, and the tears welled up in her eyes as she realized that even with all the screwups she had done, he was always there for her.

It was then that she felt a hand on her shoulder, and she looked up to see Austin. He looked at her with a mix of concern and confusion, and before she could stop herself, she had thrown herself into his arms, the mochi tumbling from her hand as she hugged him tightly.

They both tumbled down to the ground, Austin trying to catch her, but both of them fell.

" Yellow, are you ok ?"

" Yeah."

" That's good but can you get off ?"

" Ash, can we stay like this for a moment ?"

" ..."

" ..."

" Please."

" Ok, fine."

" ... "

The duo stayed on the ground in an awkward silence that was broken by Austin saying.

" I am not mad."

" I know."

" Then why are you crying ?"

" I am just thankful that I have someone like you to always rely on even when I screw up."

" Yellow; no, I .." Austin couldn't say anything back as he was thankful to Yellow for staying by his side. Even when he pushed everyone away, deep down he wanted them to stop him, help him for being consumed by his anger towards Team Rocket, towards himself, and towards the world, and for always staying by his side when he needed someone just to be there.

" Yellow."

" Yeah."

" Thanks."

" For what."

" For everything."

For Yellow and Austin, at that moment, nothing else mattered. They were wrapped up in their little world, and as they hugged on the ground suddenly a blinding camera flash illuminated the field in a brilliant burst of light. Yellow and Austin, still on the ground, were momentarily frozen in the glare, their faces etched in a mix of surprise and confusion.

Suddenly the duo saw Haunter with Pikachu on her head flying away.

Austin could hear the duo's chuckle as he looked down only to find yellow passed out while steam came off her chest

" Really."

...

The door to the inn opened with a loud creak, and Austin strode in, carrying Yellow in his arms in a bridal style. She was unconscious, her head resting against his chest, and he held her tightly, taking care not to jostle her as he made his way across the room.

Lucario let out a loud whistle as he saw the duo, a grin spreading across his face. "My Mew, should I call the police ?," he said, chuckling while Pikachu gulped when he saw his trainer's eyes on him.

Charmeleon, Ditto, Scizor, Wartortle, and Fearow stood guard over the photo that Pikachu had taken

" You should look back."

Austin said before going into Yellow's room as they looked back only to find Charmeleon's tail flame burning the photo.

" Char !"

" Scizor !"

" Fear !"

"Pika!"

The pokemon panicked as they tried to save the photo while Lucario happily ate his chocolate.

...

Austin made his way over to the bed, laying Yellow down gently on the mattress. As he pulled away, he could see her grip on his pinky finger and his face melted into a smile.

He was about to leave, but something made him pause. He looked down at Yellow, her face in a frown as if she was having a night, and he felt a tug at his heartstrings.

Austin brushed Yellow's head softly while channeling his aura to comfort yellow in her sleep.

Slowly Austin began to drift into sleep.

The room was quiet, save for the sound of their breathing, as the night went on.

...

The morning sun filtered through the window, casting a warm golden glow across the room. Yellow slowly opened her eyes, her mind still foggy with sleep. She stretched her limbs, feeling the cool sheets against her skin and the warmth of the sun on her face.

As she sat up, she realized that she was not alone in bed. Austin was lying beside her, still asleep, his chest rising and falling steadily with each breath. Yellow felt a blush creeping up her face as she looked down at her hand, and her heart skipped a beat as she saw her hand wrapped around Austin's finger. She couldn't help but gulp as she looked at the intimate gesture, and her heart began to race.

With a smile on her face, she leaned in closer to Austin, her heart bursting with joy.

As she looked at him, she knew that she couldn't resist the urge to touch him, to feel his warmth and his heartbeat against her own. She reached out her hand and gently brushed her fingers across his cheek, feeling the rough stubble against her skin.

Austin stirred, but he did not wake up. Yellow, pretending to be still asleep, snuggled closer to him, her heart overflowing with happiness and contentment.

The sound of a camera's shutter clicked loudly in the room, pulling Austin out of his peaceful slumber. He opened his eyes to see his Pokemon on the other end of the bed, all crowded around, taking pictures of him with his Polaroid camera. He felt a weight on his chest as he saw Yellow lying next to him, still pretending to be asleep.

He jolted up, his mind racing as he tried to process what was happening. He could see the mischievous grins on everyone's faces while Charmeleon was bashing his head on the wall.

" Char, Chameleon" { This is cheating. ]

As he looked down at the bed, he saw that it was covered in a blanket of delicate petals, and he felt his heart skip a beat.

Yellow, pretending to have just woken up, looked around the room with confusion, her eyes flicking from Austin to the petals and back again.

Yellow was a little confused as she looked at Kitty who was buzzing extremely happily before Kitty hugged her while Austin glared at his smirking team.

Taking a handful of petals, Austin threw them at Pikachu who just blushed and look away shyly as Scizor and the others burst out in cackles.

" Where did you guys even get these ?" Austin wondered before Pidgeot and Dragonair's glare caused him to cough, " And girls."

" You don't need to know," Lucario answered as he walked out of the shower with a towel.

" Have some decency, Lucario," Austin said as Fearow plucked out a few petals from his hair before eating them.

Lucario just smirked and glanced at Yellow.

" Let's just say, I can't say the words I want to."

Austin glared back before slapping away Wartortle's paws that tried to take the petals away to eat.

" Ash, when is your pokemon battle with the Saffron City Gym Leader ?" Yellow curiously asked as Kitty finally let her go. She was still confused about why Kitty was so happy today.

Did she like rose petals that much?

" Huh, what are you talking about?"

" Isn't this why we are here ?"

" Nope, we are here because I want to catch an Abra."

" Oh !"

[ Afternoon ]

The sun beat down mercilessly on the parched earth, casting a fiery orange glow across the landscape. The air was thick with the scent of baking soil and the distant rumble of thunder promised a storm that would never come.

Under the scorching sun, a drenched Austin and Yellow followed after Lucario who was holding Musharna in his hands.

" Did you want to find the most psychically in-tune Abra ?" Lucario asked as he wiped the sweat off his fur.

" Yes," Austin replied as his shadow wiggled side to side.

Looks like haunter didn't like the sun.

" Ash, why is it so hot ?"

" A heatwave suddenly hit the entirety of Kanto."

" If it's so hot then have Tenty cool you off with water gun," Austin answered back.

" Good idea."

" Pika." Pikachu seconded the idea of cooling off.

It was as if a silent scream echoed through the land, a wave of psychic energy washing over Austin and Yellow. It was as if the very fabric of reality was being torn apart, and they could feel it in the pit of their stomachs. The energy was palpable, like a physical force that pressed against their skin. It was both exhilarating and terrifying.

The energy continued to build, growing stronger with each passing second. It was as if the entire land was being pulled into a maelstrom of psychic power. The ground began to shake, and rocks were lifted off the ground, spinning wildly through the air.

Musharna suddenly bolted forward while Yellow crashed down screaming.

Pikachu also crashed into the ground while holding his head.

" Pika !"

Austin and Lucario's bodies erupted in aura as they battled against the psychic energy permeating through the air.

Austin picked up Yellow and Pikachu and headed directly for the nearest cover he could find. He took a few seconds to take in what he could see. Several Pokémon were being held down by psychic power. A few were completely unconscious.

With Musharna battling it out with psychic energy.

Austin ignored Lucario's crimson eyes watching him and moved his eyes to where Musharna was being held down. He could practically see Lucario's veins pop in annoyance.

Once he was sure that Yellow and Pikachu were safe after they ran a few meters away, he looked around for whatever could be keeping the pokemon down. It had to be powerful enough to stop Lucario.

" Go Scizor and Haunter, "Austin commanded as the duo fanned out.

Still, he couldn't see nor could he concentrate on using aura sense to find what was keeping them down.

Looks like he had to do this the old fashion way.

"Can you move at all?" Austin shouted towards Lucario, getting an eye roll in response. "That's something, I guess. Is the psychic still here? One blink for yes, two for no."

Lucario blinked once, extremely slowly in a sort of exaggerated manner. Austin did not doubt that the aura pokemon was making fun of him in his head.

" Good to know. Can you sense what took you down?"

This time, Lucario blinked twice. No, he hadn't seen what had caught his body in an impossible-to-break form. Huh. So he hadn't seen what had got him nor could he properly concentrate with all this psychic energy permeating through the air.

Austin breathed out a breath, trying to figure out how to disrupt the psy-

Was it that easy?

"If this doesn't work, you have my full permission to make fun of me later," Austin warned, being careful to keep his voice steady as he didn't want to disturb Musharna.

Austin figured if he could disrupt the psychic, then hopefully, Musharna and Lucario would be able to help him take out whatever it was.

" Haunter, I need some help here."

Austin's shadow glowed as a tendril of darkness shot near his feet.

" Stop scaring me."

" Kekeke."

" Yeah, yeah, can you get me the dark crystal ?"

Austin asked as his eyes were on Musharna who was helping the downed pokemon escape from the psychic clutches.

Even if Psychics was one of the most powerful typing, it still had its kryptonite; dark types. A strong dark type could shrug off a psychic attack without even trying. It helped, Austin supposed, that he had a portable device that could project Dark type energy around anything.

Haunter's tendrils shot up as it handed Austin, the dark crystal device and a porn magazine.

Austin looked at the magazine and its cover before glancing at his shadow.

" Really."

"Keke."

Austin rolled his eyes as he heard the ghost type's laughter before he threw away the magazine which if he had glanced back would find to be blank. Haunter was trying to bait Austin.

Austin looked at the esoteric energy permeating through the air.

Would the psychic energy dissipate just like that or would something else happen?

Austin wondered as this was either the stupidest plan he had ever come up with or the most intelligent. He rather hoped it was the latter.

Clicking on the device, Austin gritted his teeth as a dark, dreadful, cold, numb feeling raced up his fingertips. It moved from his fingers to his hand, then his arm, resting at the base of his neck. He willed using his aura to move down his other arm, trying to mentally wrestle it into doing his bidding. He fought for what felt like hours to keep the energy from moving either to his skull or his chest before it finally obeyed his will and slowly sunk his other arm. Austin could feel it working as it slowly melted past whatever barrier the psychic had put in place. It took every bit of concentration he had to keep it from actually going into Lucario's body, instead of going after the layer on top of his skin. Slowly, very slowly, he felt it breaking.

As soon as Lucario gained control of his head again, his aura suddenly latched onto the dark-type energy as it mimicked Austin's use by making a cloak of dark-type energy around the body.

Austin could still feel it under his skin, the dark type of energy was trying to get free from the cage that was his aura, but it wasn't enough to hurt him.

Lucario suddenly turned towards a group of pokemon surrounding… something, but whatever it was happened to be holding back all four by itself. He forced himself up. Scizor was the only one who was on guard duty now, but he couldn't say he was particularly worried about himself. He was slightly more worried about how his team was supposed to take down a threat without hurting any of the pokemon who were helplessly stuck on the ground.

Austin and Lucario circled a bit, trying to get a look at whatever was causing the mayhem, but all they could see was a piercing blue wave of energy coming their way too quickly. Lucario siphoned more dark-type energy from the crystal and in a show of absolute control, he sent a wave of dark-type energy coating his aura to counteract the psychic energy.

' That was awesome.'

Austin thought and as if Lucario had heard his thoughts, the aura pokemon turned to smirk at him.

" Show off," Austin said as he sensed worry coming from Musharna. "Don't forget, psychics are weak to dark types, so hit it with everything we've got. Musharna, get in close and show it exactly who it's messing with."

He had another idea, this one he didn't particularly want, but he knew there was a chance that he would have to catch the psychic.

Austin jumped left as something shot by over his head. The Pokémon, a fast, powerful fire type, entered the battle. His eyes snapped to Lucario before giving him a signal.

He needed a distraction. If he could get close enough to catch the Pokémon, hopefully, its hold would wear off.

" What do you say, Lucario, should we join the insanity?" He asked, keeping his voice light, even though he wasn't feeling anything even close to it. Lucario smirked, which he took as an agreement, and gave the aura pokemon one last look.

It took a few seconds, once he was close enough, to understand exactly what his eyes were seeing. Multiple Pokémon were all fighting one Pokémon. It was small, fox-like in the face, with pointed ears, and a pointed snout. Its shoulders and upper arms looked to be covered in some sort of darker brown armor, especially compared to the lighter tan of the rest of its body. Its long tail waved back and forth in distress as its clawed hands held its head tightly.

Somehow, almost 16 pokemon were having trouble taking down a single Abra.

He didn't know if he should fall over laughing, or if he should be terrified of all that power in one tiny package. One thing was for sure when it evolved, he would not want to go against it.

With that in mind, he started to piece together what was happening. The Pokémon couldn't control its power. Why he had no idea, but it was trying to suppress the psychic energy that flowed off of it.

Austin was fairly certain that he could hear it screeching in his brain, getting louder and more panicked with every step he took.

Musharna and Scizor stopped, sending him questioning looks, but not doing anything to get in his way. They knew that their boy had a plan, and would trust him to know what he was doing, at least for now, since their attacks were doing very little.

"Hey there," Austin said softly, making his voice like a whisper in the wind. He knew that psychics were prone to having horrible headaches and if Abra had one while attempting to reign himself in, he would do his best to not make it any worse. "It's been a long day for me. I'm guessing yours hasn't been any better."

The Abra winced, gripping its head tighter, practically digging its claws into its skull.

Austin nodded sympathetically. "Yeah, that sounds about right. I know that you don't have control right now, and I'm pretty sure you don't want to hurt anyone. That's why they're just immobile, not dead. I'm guessing you came up here to have somewhere to relax and try and regain your control, and the trainers just kept coming."

From what he could tell, the Pokemon were trapped before they could do anything, or send out any Pokémon. Abra probably caught them unaware and just wanted some peace and quiet. The thought of why the rest of the Pokemon were up here made him pause, but he shrugged off the question.

Right now, Abra needed a break, and he had an idea. It wasn't something he particularly wanted to think about, but it was the only way he could get out of this mess. "I'm guessing all of these pokemons, their thoughts, and mine, aren't helping. You are a powerful Pokémon, but you also probably aren't used to this amount of noise."

Abra glowed a bit brighter, making Scizor reach for him, but he shrugged off the hand of his powerful friend, and simply got a little closer to the Pokémon. If he was right, Abra would pick up on his thoughts, possibly louder than the rest of his teams, or any of the other people's, because he was the closest.

He could sense it though, feel the Pokémon looking through his head for some sort of answer, something that could help. When the Abra came across his plan, a voice, young, male, and frightened, echoed in his head.

{ ~Yes~ } the Pokémon begged, {~Please?~}

"We'll try then." Austin stood and carefully walked over to the Pokémon until he was less than a foot away. He took a calm, steady breath, before reaching for something on his belt. His hand closed around an empty Pokéball, one he hadn't planned on using for a long time. Hopefully, this would work.

He reached out and gently tapped the Pokémon on the nose, letting it get sucked into the sphere, before something, in his mind, shattered loudly, like the sound of someone throwing a glass plate against a steel warehouse.

His vision blurred as the Pokéball shook once, before going black as he heard a small click.

[ Austin's POV ]

Waking up was usually a pleasant experience but after everything that happened on the SS. Anne, sleep had essentially become closing my eyes and then opening them. I never even felt that I had gone to sleep. Without any dreams, all I saw was nothing but darkness every night.

Maybe that was for the best since my mental strength couldn't have taken on those vivid nightmares.

As I walked down the broken hallway of the SS. Anne, the once grand vessel now reduced to a twisted and shattered ruin, the stench of blood and death was overwhelming. The walls were stained with the evidence of the disaster that had befallen the ship, and the floor was slick with the remnants of those who had met their end here.

I moved slowly, my feet crunching on the broken glass and debris that littered the ground. The walls were canted at odd angles, and I had to use my hands to steady myself as I made my way deeper into the ship. The once-luxurious wallpaper was now torn and hanging in shreds, and the elegant light fixtures had been reduced to twisted heaps of metal.

As I moved further down the hallway, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread growing in the pit of my stomach. The screams and cries of the dying still echoed in my ears, and the thought of what had happened here was almost too much to bear.

I didn't look at anything as I moved forward.

That was all I could do.

Move forward.

My head ached. It felt like a thousand needles were dislodged into it.

Suddenly I saw myself in a different unknown room which was very… purple. The walls were a darker color than the bed, but they had nothing on the darker purple curtains that surrounded the bed. They were so dark, he almost thought it was black instead. There were several torches around the room, lighting it enough for him to see, but not enough for it to hurt his eyes.

My mind raced, trying to put the pieces together again. What had happened when I had fallen asleep? Had I fallen asleep? Why was I here? Where was here? Where was my team?

My hands moved to my belt in panic, horrified that none of my Pokéballs were in their places. Before I calmed down remembered that this place was most likely a dream.

Just as I finished calming myself down a sudden explosive bang followed. The door I had come through was slammed open and hit the wall. I just groaned, realizing that even a normal conversation was too much to ask from Fate.

In the doorway stood a purple-blue-haired girl glaring daggers at me

"Wow, did not expect that?" I muttered as I fully recognized the girl.

The weird psychic girl, a possible Team Rocket conspirator according to the manga, and a traumatized girl with weird psychic powers according to the anime. She can turn me into a doll, I hope it doesn't come to that. Dolls are fucking creepy.

Every single one of them.

"YOU!"

Déjà vu… Why does this feel so familiar?

Sabrina wore the same red dress, looking quite pretty.

Deep purple eyes met mine.

It seemed Sabrina had taken a page out of the FBI's book by slamming the door open. The way she stood there would make for a good movie poster with her back to the illuminated hallway and her eyes faintly glowing purple.

I would be scared if it was not for the fact that the shit I had experienced in the SS. Anne and the hell that followed in Lavender Tower had caused me to always remain cool and level-headed in any kind of scenario and also that fact that it would make me look better in the long run.

Sabrina stepped into the room with big strides, her strangely colored hair wavering behind her and fizzling with the same purple psychic energy.

With my height, I met her glare without having to turn to look up.

"You are hiding something." Sabrina hissed angrily. The psychic energy manifested itself into purple flames that surrounded her eyes.

Time to test a theory of mine.

I looked her in the eyes. "Everyone has secrets, tell me something new."

Meanwhile, I began visualizing and thinking about all kinds of stuff in my head. Gory stuff, inappropriate things, and other thoughts that would even give the most stone-hearted person a shiver or frown.

Sabrina didn't and I couldn't help but smirk. Suspicions confirmed.

Sabrina can not read my mind and if Sabrina couldn't then no other human psychic has a chance.

The same couldn't be said for legendaries even though Mewtwo couldn't read my mind, deep down I knew that Mewtwo was currently a newborn who couldn't even compare to the Legendaries that had lived for eons.

"And why are you smiling?" Sabrina snapped, not quite shouting but not calm.

" Why can't I smile when meeting a beautiful woman ?" Austin said with a smirk causing Sabrina to narrow her eyes.

" Been practicing that in the mirror."

Sabrina's words caused Austin's lips to move.

She is certainly different from the anime but more like her manga counterpart. But does that mean she is a part of Team rocket?

" So, what does the great Sabrina want with little old me ?"

"Your entire existence! You are not supposed to be here, I can see you with my eyes but besides that, you don't exist." Sabrina spat.

I blinked. "Say what?"

Sabrina shot a glare at me.

" I don't like you."

" Yeah, couldn't tell."

" Hmph, I can see it in your eyes but if you must know I am psychic and out of all my psychic powers, I have a very rare one even among psychics, which is the ability to see parts of the future. The itchy point here is that I can not read your thoughts and the present doesn't match the vision of the future rather it is being distorted more and more. Forgo your meddling in this world's future."

People told me before that my existence annoyed them on Earth, it was something I was rather skilled at online at least but to have non-emotional arguments to back that up is a completely new thing.

But the bigger reveal was that Sabrina can see the future, he did say that right? If it was true then she's fucking OP. How would that even work? Does it calculate a future based on all the data available, maybe possible outcomes or did she get her knowledge from somewhere else? Maybe she peers into timelines and perceives those events to be this world's definite future.

Theoretically seeing the future should be possible. Pierre-Simon Laplace theorized that a hypothetical being that knows the position and momentum of every molecule in the universe and has unlimited calculating power would be able to see the future as if it were the present. Simple math. Maybe Sabrina could do that? I had so many questions I wanted to ask her. However, I had to focus on the important stuff going on right now, mainly me being a total blindspot to Sabrina.

" You have seen death." She said blandly, staring into my eyes.

I just shrugged.

" You don't have any idea what you did, did you."

" What did I do ?"

" You are rebelling against Fate's plan for the world."

" And how am I doing that ?"

" Don't play with me, kid, I know that you know how you are doing that."

" Ok, let's hypothetically say that you are right. How does my action affect you ?"

Sabrina mumbled something that I couldn't hear.

" What was that ?"

" You took it away from me."

" Pretty sure I am not a sex offender so what did I take from you ?"

Sabrina's fury-filled eyes told me that she didn't appreciate my joke whatsoever.

" You captured the Abra that was fated to be mine."

" Ok, that can be solved. I can trade the Abra for another Abra."

" You don't know anything about psychics do you."

" ... "

" Ha, you ignorant fool."

I looked at Sabrina's childish smug face with disbelief.

I take it back, she isn't anything like her manga counterpart.

" So what am I so ignorant about ?"

" Unlike other types, Psychic Pokemon have absolute loyalty to their trainer who they are psychically linked with but not all psychic types could make a psychic link, they need to have a high enough degree of power to form the psychic link."

" That is great and all but what does that have to do with me."

" I am getting to it !"

" Geez, no need to shout."

" You on the hand had to cross paths with the Abra whom I was planning on creating a psychic link with."

" Don't tell me."

" Yes, Ash Ketchum you are now psychically linked with Abra."

" Sorry, I guess."

" Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! That is all you have to say for yourself! Don't you know that your actions are changing the fate of this world? We are now heading towards an unknown future because of your reckless actions !"

Sabrina shouted out with Austin just listening quietly.

" Sabrina, I am well aware of Ash Ketchum's position in this world and I know my actions are causing this world's timeline to shift and my answer to all of that is; fuck you. I have already lost someone close to me because I choose to go with the flow and not interfere in the events of the future but my actions resulted in something I still have nightmares and episodes of anger and frustration to this day about but now it's different."

Austin's eyes glowed as a crimson aura began to permeate throughout his body.

" I am willing to fight against fate if it means I can achieve my plans."

Sabrina sighed and replied," Interfere in the plans of the world and you will be destroyed."

" That's why I am preparing for the future like everyone else."

" You will fail !"

" Maybe but I can't afford to lose anyone else in Fate's grandiose plans. I am willing to fight until my very last breath."

Sabrina sighed as her body glowed with esoteric energy.

" Wait !"

Suddenly Austin called out causing Sabrina to stop.

" What ?!"

" I know this great coffee place..."

" Cut the Tauros crap, what do you want ?"

" Sigh, fine, I want some help in relation to your areas of expertise."

" What is it ?"

" Ever heard of the curse of the Viridian forest..."

[ Saffron City - Pokemon Center ]

Austin stepped out of the showers, droplets of water cascading down his physique. As he reached for a towel, his hand brushed against his long, dark hair. He paused for a moment, staring at it in the mirror, contemplating whether or not he should cut it.

His hair had grown wild and unkempt, falling in loose waves past his shoulders. But as he stared at himself in the mirror, he couldn't help but wonder if his hair was becoming too much of a distraction. He ran his fingers through it, feeling the weight of it as it fell around his face.

" So are you to make your presence known or not ?" Austin exclaimed as the sound of something teleporting echoed throughout the room.

" And lose my free eye candy." A feminine voice called out.

" You know I am underage right? You can be put in jail for this."

" And I am also underage, so what does that make you ?" Sabrina asked in a monotone voice.

" A victim."

" ... " Sabrina's lips flared up before coming down as if she was forcefully controlling her emotions.

" Long hair, isn't your style?"

" Good to see you, face to face."

" Your words are unneeded and I have brought you the items you wanted."

" Hmm, you seem different."

" What do you mean ?"

" In the dreams, you seemed ... childish."

" Ha, I assure you that was just a moment of frustration. A psychic of my level needs to control her emotions."

" Good to know."

" Can I ask, why are you helping me ?"

Sabrina paused before saying," I don't know what you are going to do next but I have sensed that it will change the entire world it could result in your death and that is what I am afraid of?"

" Weird but thanks for caring so much."

" Hmph, why would I care about you? I am afraid of what would happen to this world without the chosen one."

" You could have said it a little nicer," Austin said as he glance out the window before backing to Sabrina.

" It is not my obligation to care for your feelings."

Sabrina's eyes glowed for a moment as she carefully considered her words. "Ash Ketchum, let us first explore what it means to be bonded with a psychic pokemon ?"

" Hit me."

" I don't wish to hit you."

" ... " Austin's eyes twitched as Sabrina was so different from his dreams, she was just like the anime version with some hints of the manga version.

" Is there some problem ?"

" No, just tell me."

" You have been bonded with Abra so changes will begin to occur in your mind."

Austin's mind went blank for a moment. " What?"

Now it made sense; Austin knew. It was possible, he couldn't deny that. He could feel a difference in his mind, he hadn't been entirely sure what it was, but he had known something was off from the moment he woke up.

"Abra has bonded his life energy with yours, accidentally, whilst, bonding your soul with his as well. All psychic types process the energy around them differently from the rest of the world. You have heard of the Four Realities Theory, correct?"

He had, Cynthia was very vocal about her interest in the theory. The Four Realities Theory was the idea that there were four separate realities at all times, intertwining together in the reality that the world knew. Supposedly, they worked like a rope of sorts, each reality twined around the other, but still staying separate enough that they could be detached from each other.

According to most professors who had studied the phenomenon, these separate realities at one time were nowhere near the reality that he lived in. The first and most well-known reality was known as either the Afterworld or the Distortion World. This was the place where souls lived, as well as the place where ghost-type Pokémon originated from. The next one was the Mirror World, where psychic type Pokémon came from. It was known as the one that was the most closely related to their own. Third, was their reality, the one that everyone knew and lived in. Finally, as if an afterthought to most people, there was what was known simply as the Abyss, where dark types had their original home.

Some people liked to think that the only people who could survive in the Abyss were dark-type trainers who had dedicated their lives to the typing while being washed in the energy of it often enough that their aura shifted to favor the darkness.

It was rumored that Sabrina had spent a year in the Mirror World, enhancing her gifts to an otherworldly level, while Agatha spent a season every year, Winter, in the Afterworld to renew her bonds with her ghosts.

"The Afterworld, Mirror World, Mundane World, and the Abyss," Austin whispered to himself.

To be fair, it was a strange, 3 unique realm that had too little information for him to know what kind of terrors lay waiting

Even with his meta knowledge, Austin hesitated to even touch upon this subject.

It was less strange to think about than some other well-accepted theories, such as the fact that fairy-type Pokémon came from space, and it was likely that dragon-type Pokémon did as well. Personally, Austin wasn't sure if he believed it or not. He knew that the distortion realm was the realm but the others were a mystery to him if he went by anime logic then those 3 realms also exist.

The most interesting rumor in relation to the theory was that all four realms had one Pokémon that ruled them. The mirror world was said to be led by Mew which he flat-out refused to believe, the Afterworld had some unknown legendary which Austin knew very well was Giratina, while the Abyss was under the iron fist of Darkrai.

"Indeed. Occasionally, there is a Pokémon born here that is more of one reality than another. If it happens to be a psychic type, and its connection is stronger to the Mirror World, then its power is more intense, while its control is usually lacking. If it is more of this world than the other, then it may have less raw energy, but it does have the finesse to control what it does have better than others of its species."

Austin frowned at the words but tried to understand what the gym leader was saying without words. "Abra has a stronger connection to the Mirror World." His words were not a question, but a fact, earning him a slight nod of Sabrina's head.

"Abra is a child of the Mirror World." She agreed. "He is also lacking when it comes to his control. You must understand, once a psychic Pokémon decided to bond with a human, they are never able to part. They become one. They become a part of us, and we become a part of them. These bonds usually form over a period of weeks, months, or years, depending on the power of the Pokémon, as well as the adaptability of the human. Sometimes, though, things can go wrong."

His head tilted to the side slightly, trying to remember the moment before he passed out. "Something shattered."

"There is usually a barrier in place, in all human minds, that keeps them from becoming a part of one of the other realities permanently. From what I can feel before you went to Abra, your pokemon Musharna attempted to disrupt the energy flow but it respects into an outburst of psychic energy. When Abra sent its last wave out, while being captured, the two energies fought in your mind. The barrier that keeps you restricted to this world shattered under the strain of two other realities energies."

Dread grew in Austin's stomach as his mind whirled through what that could mean for him. Was he now not connected to this world at all? Did it mean that his lifespan had been affected? Was there something in his mind that tilted the favor of one of the other realities over the others?

She locked eyes with him, frowning heavily. "Abra's lifespan is linked to yours. His soul is intertwined with your own to the point that trying to make you two souls again would kill both of you," Austin's stomach sank more when he realized the implications that he couldn't go back without killing Abra.

" If I am correct, it's possible for you to visit the Mirror world now, though you will need Abra to guide you. It could," Sabrina paused for a moment, seemingly uncomfortable, before forcing her way through the thought. "It could be possible that you will feel the call of the Abyss more so than the call of the Mirror. I have no idea if you will be able to visit the Afterworld as well since I know so little about it. I must warn you not to give in to the call of the realms. Nothing that goes to those realities ever returns to our own."

" You can say that again," Austin whispered mostly to himself.

"So you're saying that Abra and I are stuck together for the rest of eternity, I might be able to visit the theorized other realities, and if I get dragged into the Abyss, I'm probably going to end up dead, or worse." He deadpanned. "Great. Are there any other changes I need to look out for that might kill me, or is it just the one?"

" No, that is all," Sabrina said before her eyes glanced to the side.

" Your companion is quite dangerous."

" That's why I asked for your help."

" You know I told you that I have a lot of duties to fulfill, I can't go and train your companion."

" Any help would do, journals, book, etc."

Sabrina nodded and flashed the peace sign as she teleported away leaving behind only a note.

Austin picked up the note that read," I will be watching you."

" That's kinda hot, not gonna lie." Austin said with a chuckle before exclaiming," Lucario, come out."

The shadows turned as Haunter appeared beside a make-up-covered Lucario who held the dark-type projection device.

" Not gonna lie, looks good on you," Austin said with a chuckle causing Haunter to blush as she did the makeup.

" Don't patronize me," Lucario growled out," So are you done meeting with the psychic?"

" You sound upset."

" ( ~ Sigh~ ) I don't like psychics. Before the war, Sir Aaron met up with a psychic who gave him a prophecy about his role in the future. I know it isn't their fault but I blame those psychics, but if it wasn't for them maybe Aaron could have found a different way."

" Don't worry, it's natural to project your hatred and anger onto something."

Austin and Lucario sighed simultaneously as they bumped fists.

" Can you go stop your maiden and rat ?"

" What happened?"

" Squirtle and Ninjask managed to convince everyone to have a dance and now your maiden and rat have a dance or are they trying to shake their heads off, I can't tell. Does this generation even know how to dance they are blasting that dastardly loud music and I hate it? Go stop them." Lucario said as Austin and Haunter looked at him incredulously.

Taking Lucario with a lot of makeup seriously was hard.

Austin opened the door to the living room and was greeted by a chaotic scene. The room was dimly lit, with only a few flickering lights casting shadows on the walls. Heavy metal music blared from a stereo in the corner, the bass vibrating through the floor and rattling the windows.

Austin's eyes were drawn to yellow who was dancing wildly in the center of the room. She was dressed in a leather bodice and tight black pants, her long blonde hair whipping around her face as she moved.

However, his surprise was interrupted by the sound of Pikachu crying on the floor, the small creature was lying on his back, arms and legs flailing as if it was in defeat. Austin looked on in disbelief as he saw Yellow's head spinning around in a cyclonic motion her long blonde hair followed as she danced to the incredibly loud heavy metal music.

" Well." Lucario asked as Austin turned and answered," I mean this with every ounce of disrespect, I want to join them. Is that alright with you, generation dead ?"

Lucario's eyes glowed blue in response to Austin's words.
