Chapter no.51: Austin's Tournament

The sun was shining brightly on Celadon City Park, as trainers from all over the region gathered with one goal in mind: to win the coveted fossil Pokemon. The park was bustling with excitement as the rumors of Austin, the tournament host, and Yellow, the referee, had spread like wildfire.
As the crowd gathered, murmurs of doubt and skepticism could be heard. "Hey, are you for real?" one trainer asked another. "Yeah, I saw the guy take out an Omanyte in the Pokemon Center," replied the other.
Suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted, "Hey, there he is!" causing everyone to turn their attention towards Austin and Yellow, who were both dressed in sleek gothic cyber masks to conceal their identities. Their Pokemon, Lucario, and Pikachu stood by their side, sporting stylish sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun's glare.
"Looks like quite the crowd has gathered here for my humble tournament," Austin's voice echoed throughout the park, causing whispers to break out among the trainers. "The rules are simple: defeat me and win the fossil Pokemon, but be warned, you have to give up 100 pokedollars per Pokemon you use in battle."
However, this announcement was met with skepticism. "Hey, how do we know this isn't a scam?" a trainer asked. Austin immediately called forth his Pokemon, Steve the Omanyte, who was sleeping soundly in his Pokeball. "Is this enough proof? Then let the battle begin," Austin declared as Yellow took her position as the referee.
The first trainer to step forward was a brown-haired young man around Yellow's age. "Golem, use roll out!" he called, as a bipedal tortoise-like Pokemon appeared on the battlefield. Golem was a boulder Pokemon with a spherical body covered by a shell of plated, gray rocks. Its head protruded from the center of the shell, with a flat snout, two pointed teeth in the lower jaw, and red eyes. Its short arms had three claws, and its two legs were equipped with feet that had four claws in front and one in back.
With a loud roar, Golem transformed into Rollout and raced toward Kingler, Austin's Pokemon. The young trainer's eyes widened in amazement as he watched his Golem crash into Kingler's protect. Kingler took a step back before launching Golem out of the battlefield with a powerful Crab Hammer.
"Oh no, Golem!" the trainer shouted, running towards his fallen Pokemon. "Next," Austin said with a smirk, causing the confidence of many trainers in the crowd to drop. They saw how effortlessly Austin had just defeated his opponent, leaving many to question if they were ready for the challenge.
In the midst of the crowd, Green moved through the throngs of trainers, bumping into them intentionally as she stealthily pickpocketed their belongings. With each bump, she would apologize with a false air of innocence, "I am sorry."
However, her criminal endeavors were short-lived as she found herself face to face with Lucario, who gave her a card with a stern look.
" Being a thief is unbecoming of a lady," Lucario whispered.
A little confused, Green looked at the words written on the card as her eyes widened before she looked at the daft punk-wearing Austin before releasing a sigh of relief she didn't even know she was holding.
" He knows this is going to cost him right," Green whispered causing Lucario to nod before he handed her a suitcase.
" Is this what I think it is ?"
" Your pay," Lucario answered back causing Green to smile before it disappeared as she looked up.
" Did you just talk ?"
Now it was Lucario's turn to smirk.

A few hours later and the crowd of people and reporters couldn't believe it.
This masked trainer was so strong that he had been continuously fighting for hours on end.
Trainer after trainer came and each couldn't even make him fall.
Even after almost 100 battles, Austin hadn't lost a single pokemon.

" And Venonat is unable to battle, Kingler is the winner."
The trainer returned his pokemon before leaving towards the crowd who were joining in on Green's betting.
" Where did you get that cool mask ?" Ritchie curiously asked while Austin stayed quiet as he returned Kingler before switching with Abra.
Pikachu and Yellow meanwhile were taken aback by the auburn-haired ash-lookalike.
Appearing on the battlefield with a book in his hands, Abra sighed before throwing the book back to Austin.
Ritchie smiled and said," Let's show them our power, Nuzzy."
In a flash of red a bipedal Pokémon with a single green leaf atop its head with a brown and beige mask marking on its face. Its bulky thighs were also beige and had thin striations, and there are what appeared to be two nipples on its chest. It had thin arms with mitten-like hands.
Noting the presence of the dark type, Abra telepathically asked Austin," Do I still have to battle ?"
" Yes,"
" And how do you propose I win? Fake being a cancer patient and let my supporters beat him to death ." Abra psychically asked causing Austin to cough on his spit.
" Use Wack-a-mole," Austin exclaimed causing Abra to raise his hands as he shouted.
"Woohoo! Yeah, baby."
Suddenly teleporting behind Nuzleaf, Abra tried to launch a fire punch that Nuzleaf was quick enough to dodge.
" Nuzzy, use night slash!" Ritchie ordered with Sparky chiming in.
While the crowd cheered but those cheers immediately quieted as Nuzleaf upon landing sank into the ground that Abra had to soften with his psychic.
Abra's hands glowed with an esoteric aura as the soft ground seemed to come to life before engulfing Nuzleaf.
Ritchie's sweated as he tried to think of a way to help Nuzzy escape from the trap but Abra was much quicker as he teleported and teleported while launching Fire punches at Nuzleaf.
Looking at the real-life game of Wack-a-mole, Ritchie was horrified before he called off the battle.
" Can we get pizza after this ?" Abra telepathically asked causing Austin to nod.
" Yeah! Baby!" Abra said while raising both his hands.
Ritchie gritted his teeth before sending out a Charmeleon.
" Go Zippo use metal claw !"
Looking at Zippo, Austin narrowed his eyes.
Shouldn't it be a Charmander?
Austin's thoughts were broken as Zippo charged at Abra at lightning speeds.
Leaning a little back, Abra missed Zippo's metal claw before a light screen was erected between the two.
"Ally Switch," Austin said as Abra showed Zippo the middle finger before his body glowed with white light.
With Ally Switch, Abra disappeared replaced by the rocky rhinoceros who stood grunting, glaring at the fire type in front of him, as it waited for his trainer's instructions. Over the last two weeks, rhyhorn had grown in size and gained a lot of body mass as it trained with Charmeleon who was using it as a punching back. Its rock plates had gotten a lot sturdier, and it had learned several new moves, and now Rhyhorn planned to unleash all his anger on the poor fire type.
" Zippo, use Metal Claw !" Ritchie's voice boomed, as the Charmeleon charged toward the ground-type pokémon.
" Take Down!" Austin commanded, and simply enough, Rhyhorn charged at the Charmeleon at a very high speed with streaks of white aura covering its body.
" Dodge it and use metal claw," Ritchie ordered with Zippo jumping up in the air causing Rhyhorn to miss as Charmeleon used gravity to its advantage to lash out with Metal Claw.
" Tower of Flames" Austin calmly ordered as Rhyhorn formed a sandstorm all around him.
With embers of flamethrower coming out of Rhyhorn's mouth, a flaming vortex formed in between Charmeleon and Rhyhorn.
Ritchie smirked thinking that Austin had played himself.
Zippo parted the flaming vortex and found a dome of rock in the middle of the vortex.
Rhyhorn's defensive rock slide broke as Charmeleon's metal claw tore apart it.
Seeing Rhyhorn in the middle, Zippo arrogantly smirked before it was wiped off as he saw rocks floating above Rhyhorn's horn.

Charmeleon was thrown back as Rhyhorn's rock blast attacked the fire type.
Crashing into the ground, Zippo struggled to get up.
" Zippo, don't give up, we'll win this," Ritchie shouted causing Zippo's body to erupt in white light as he evolved into a draconic, bipedal Pokémon with a primarily orange yet cream underside from the chest to the tip of its tail. It had a long neck, small blue eyes, slightly raised nostrils, and two horn-like structures protruding from the back of its rectangular head. Two large wings with blue-green undersides sprout from its back, and a horn-like appendage juts out from the top of the third joint of each wing. A single wing finger is visible through the center of each wing membrane.

The Charizard roared before flying towards Rhyhorn at high speed.
" Landmine," Austin commanded as Rhyhorn launched stone edge the moment Charizard came closer.
Crashing into the ground, Charizard struggled to get up.
Only one thing needed to be said. "Use Earthquake!"
Using its powerful limbs, rhyhorn smashed down onto the ground, sending powerful seismic waves radially outwards, as the tectonic strike destabilized the battleground, making a serious impact on the down Charizard.
"Earthquake, again!" Austin commanded, his eyes staring at the final stage starter Pokemon.
Even after all of that, Charizard managed to hold on.
"Now use horn attack!" Ash commanded, his tone emotionless, as the rhinoceros grunted and galloped its way toward the fire type fallen on the ground.
"Charizard, get up and you can't lose this." Ritchie's words caused Austin to frown as while this attitude might be fun to watch in the anime, it was downright cruel to watch in real life.
Finding some kind of strength, Charizard managed to spin on its back while launching an iron tail as the collision of the iron tail and the horn attack had significant damage on either side, though both pokémon were still standing.
"Horn Drill."
Nothing else needed to be said. The ground and rock type smashed its powerful horn attack into Charizard's already injured self, banishing the starter away into a world of darkness.
"Charizard is unable to battle. The winner is Rhyhorn."
Ritchie's arms shook as he returned Charizard before running towards the Pokemon center.
Austin sighed before turning towards his next opponent which caused his eyes to widen.
Standing on the other side of the battlefield was Paul.

[ Team Rocket - Celadon City Base ]
"Okay," Meowth said, as they ate at the little cafeteria in the Rocket headquarters beneath the Celadon Game Corner. " Why da ya think the twerp survived. After dat monster came to the ."
"I like to think otherwise, that twerp ...," James said with a melancholic look in his eyes as he remembered that Austin had put his pokemon back into the safety of the pokeballs even if he didn't have to.
" James, just stop," Jessie said while she looked at her reflection in her soup. Even though she didn't show it, Austin's actions of saving the only things that she truly cared for affected her.
"What's da point of that look? We are dat team rocket. And I question your eating habits, by the way."
"What's wrong with them?"
"Rice balls and jelly donuts? Seriously?"
"I like them—it's the contrast of salty and sweet that gets me."
"I prefer my canned Wishiwashi, myself," Meowth said, popping another saucy fillet into his mouth.
" Hey, did you hear that ?" James asked.
" What ?"
" That some powerful trainer is offering an Omanyte on his defeat in Celadon park."
" Oh, dat sounds like something for our area of expertise," Meowth said with a smile before he remembered something
" We're talkin' a trainer dat can fight for multiple hours," Meowth pointed out. "We're going to need ta be talkin' stronger than everyone here already is."
"Yeah," James said, poking a jelly donut and causing some red to leak out. "Or I guess we could try a mech machine—they probably wouldn't see that coming."
"Or we could try trapping it differently," Jessie pointed out.
"Yeah, but the only trap we know is digging a hole in the ground, and I don't think that Omanyte is going to stay."
"We need better skills."
"We do," James sighed.
And then it was like a lightbulb went off over his head.
"Or maybe we weaken the trainer with a mecha or something and then whammo with our Pokémon!"
"Except our Pokémon aren't equipped to be taking that on—no offense, guys."
"None was taken," the Pokémon eating next to them chimed, before going back to eating.
"I take offense," Meowth decided to say.
"I guess cats have more delicate sensibilities."

The sun was shining brightly over Celadon City Park as Yellow stood, ready to serve as the referee for the upcoming battle but the next trainer who had stepped out of the crowd left Yellow in a state of shock.
It was Paul.
Yellow glanced at Paul, who was standing confidently on the opposite side of the field and then looked at Austin, who was beside Rhyhorn. Austin gave her a nod, and Yellow took a deep breath before shouting out, "This will be a full battle, so let this battle...BEGIN!"
A murmur of excitement rippled through the crowd as they watched the whole Green take out a notebook and begin recording the bets. Meanwhile, Paul was reaching into his pocket and pulling out a Pokeball. It was a sleek, black ball with a unique design that set it apart from the standard Pokeballs.
"Sneasel! Stand by for battle!" Paul shouted, tossing the ball into the air. With a flash of light, Sneasel emerged from the Pokeball, its sharp claws glinting in the sun.
Sneasel was a Dark and Ice type Pokemon, with a sleek black body that was reminiscent of a cat and a weasel. Its tail was made of red feathers, and its left ear was also adorned with feathers. On its chest and forehead was a yellow-orange oval-shaped gem, and its eyes were slanted and red, with markings that looked like long eyelashes.
As Sneasel stepped forward, it began to do a slashing dance, its sharp claws slicing through the air. With an evil grin on its face, Sneasel was ready for battle. The crowd gasped as they took in the impressive sight of this powerful Pokemon, and Yellow prepared herself for the battle to come.
" Rocky Sandstorm" Austin ordered as Rhyhorn roared causing a sandstorm to erupt meanwhile Rhyhorn stomped on the ground causing stealth rock to be set up.
"Use Hail!" Paul commanded. Sneasel's eyes glowed causing the clouds to form over the battlefield before powdered snow began to rain down.
Sneasel flinched as a sandstorm affected it but due to its keen eye ability, she knew where Rhyhorn was.
" Terraformation strategy." Austin calmly exclaimed as Rhyhorn's horn glowed before the ground began to protrude giant spikes of the earth with Rock climb.
Immediately noticing the spikes, Paul ordered.
" Counter Shield."
Paul's words caused Pikachu and Yellow to look on in surprise while Austin figured Paul had already integrated his move into his arsenal.
Sneasel spun on her back while releasing the ice beam causing the spikes to be met with waves of ice.

Hearing the sounds of the earth cracking Paul frowned before hearing gasps around him.
Paul looked up to see Rhyhorn jumping from the rock spikes into the air.
Flames glowed from Rhyhorn's maw as it released a fire blast into the sandstorm creating a dust explosion and sending Sneasel flying before tumbling near Paul, knocked out.
"Sneasel is unable to battle! Rhyhorn wins!" Yellow declared.
Paul merely returned his Pokemon, before looking at it and muttering: "Pathetic." before stuffing it inside his pocket. He then grabbed a second Pokeball before stopping as Austin walked towards Rhyhorn stuck in the ground and grabbed onto the rocky rhino's waist and in front of the crowd of shocked people, lifted Rhyhorn like a Growlithe.
Rhyhorn blushed a little at being lodged into the ground before biting the top of Austin's daft punk helmet.
" Nice job buddy," Austin said as he returned the ground and rock type.
"Electabuzz! Stand by for battle!" Paul exclaimed as he threw the Pokeball, and out of it was the humanoid-looking Pokemon. It was yellow, with two antennae on its head.
Suddenly the electric type felt Stealth rock activate diminishing its health.
"Electabuzz! Light Screen!" Paul commanded. " Go Bulbasaur!" Austin said as Bulbasaur appeared on the battlefield.
" Return !"Paul said while returning to Electabuzz
"Murkrow! Stand by for battle!" Paul exclaimed as he threw the Pokeball.
" Ingrain!" Austin commanded as Bulbasaur's whips lodged into the ground.
"Murkrow! Aerial Ace!" Paul shouted but Murkrow just stood there.
" Seed Blast "
Absorbing grass-type energy from the miracle seed, Bulbasaur launched a combo of bullet seed and seed bomb.
But Electabuzz's light screen protected Murkrow from the initial attack as it launched itself at extremely high speeds toward Bulbasaur who calmly waited.
Just as Murkrow came close, Bulbasaur launched an energy ball at him.
"Murkrow! Dark Pulse!" Paul commanded. Murkrow fired a purple beam of circles from its beak as it met Bulbasaur's energy ball.
" Power Jump !" Austin said as Bulbasaur used a power whip to launch itself up as Murkrow's dark pulse stalemated Bulbasaur's energy ball.
" Chemical Warfare"
Bulbasaur's attack caused Paul to shout out.
" Counter Shield!" Murkrow immediately used a twister in conjunction with steel wing as it sent the chemical Warfare back toward Bulbasaur.
Austin and Yellow's eyes widened at Paul's counter shield before Austin snapped himself back into the battle.
" Bomb Barrage !" Austin shouted out as Bulbasaur immediately ate an energy ball before erupting a greenish aura before using the extra injuring in conjunction with the grass-type energy of the miracle seed to launch tens of seed bombs toward Murkrow's attack.

A giant explosion rang out causing Bulbasaur and Murkrow to fall to the ground. When the dust cleared, Murkrow was injured, but it wasn't out of the fight yet meanwhile Bulbasaur gritted to get up as ingrain took effect and healed the starter Pokemon.
And of that, Paul was forced to recall Honchkrow. "This is not part of my strategy. Magmortar! Stand by for battle!" Paul exclaimed as he threw the Pokeball and out of it was a large fire-type Pokemon with unusual pink lips and a body in the shape of an egg.
" Teleport and fire plume," Paul ordered causing the fire behemoth to disappear and appear in front of Bulbasaur with its Arm canons stretched out.
Yellow's eyes widened as he saw flames engulf Bulbasaur but she stopped herself as she felt no change in Austin's aura.
( ~ Gasp ~ )
Yellow turned to see Magmortar's fire plume being held back by Bulbasaur's energy ball.
Suddenly Bulbasaur's body erupted in white light.
Pikachu smirked as he saw Bulbasaur's shape change to a quadrupedal amphibian Pokémon that had blue-green skin with darker patches. On top of its head were pointed ears with black insides and it has narrow red eyes. Ivysaur had a short, rounded snout with a wide mouth and two pointed teeth in their upper jaw. Each of its feet had three claws on them. The bulb on its back has bloomed into a large pink bud. A short brown trunk surrounded by leafy green fronds supports the bud.
" Ivysaur!"
With a shout, Ivysaur fired a solar beam from its bulb that overpowered the solar beam.
"Magmortar, Teleport into Flamethrower!" Paul commanded as Magmortar disappeared and appeared behind Ivysaur as he launched a wave of flames toward Ivysaur.
" Sludge Bomb," Austin commanded Ivysaur launched a glob of poison at Magmortar's flames as they exploded.
Magmortar suddenly disappeared with teleported as Austin clicked his tongue.
" Protocol Teleport !" Austin exclaimed as Ivysaur used a power whip behind himself creating a trench in the ground causing the audience to wonder what he was doing.
Paul frowned in confusion before his eyes widened when he realized that his opponent had essentially cut off the range of teleported in half. Teleport's 360° range around Ivysaur would be reduced to 180° due to the trench being a hazard to teleport in, Magmortar couldn't even teleport away from the trench as he would be out of boundless and removed from the battle.
" Fire Plume !"
"Slamming Edge!" Austin commanded as Ivysaur ate an Energy ball before launching his combo of a body slam and double edge a white aura engulfed the grass starter as Ivysaur rammed straight Magmortar, causing a cloud of dust to fly.
When the dust cleared, out came Magmortar, who was being pushed back near Paul. Ivysaur stopped when Magmortar's feet. Meanwhile, Ivysaur eyes were spinning wildly before they crashed into the ground.
Knocked out.
Paul returned Magmortar to its Pokeball. "Thanks, Ivysaur, now take a rest!" Austin said as he returned Ivysaur to its Pokeball. Austin and Paul threw their next Pokeballs.
"Torterra! Stand by for battle!"
"Scizor! I choose you!"
Both trainers exclaimed as they threw their Pokeballs. On Paul's side was a gigantic turtle with a large tree on its shell. On Austin's side was a crimson humanoid covered in metal with crab-like claws for hands.
Scizor recognized Paul and Torterra immediately before a look of absolute seriousness took him
"Torterra! Frenzy Plant!" Paul commanded.
" Dance Mania," Austin commanded causing Scizor's eyes to glow crimson as it used Laser focus in conjunction with agility.
Torterra's body was outlined in green before stomping its foot, sending large green thorns from the ground toward Scizor.
Under the eyes of everyone, Scizor dodged every single Frenzy plant with minimal effort.
"Aerial Wing."
Austin commanded as Scizor crashed into Torterra with Life orb-enhanced combo attack, but Austin knew that that was not gonna be enough against Torterra as even though their attack managed to hit Torterra on the head, it didn't do much.
"I bet Paul will move Torterra after this. Scizor! Aerial Wing and aim for the tree!" Austin commanded. Paul looked in shock, as Torterra's tree was in its weak spot. "Torterra! Leaf Storm NOW!" Paul exclaimed.
Scizor was engulfed in strips of white light, while Torterra fired a cyclone of leaves from its tree. It hit Scizor, head on but Scizor managed to overpower through and eventually hit Torterra at the tree, causing great damage and pain to Torterra.
"Now let's do a Bullet Punch on Torterra's tree!" Austin commanded.
Scizor got close and attacked Torterra's tree repeatedly, causing great pain to Torterra. "Err...Get that bug off with Leaf Storm!" Paul shouted. " Pursuit!" Austin commanded.
Torterra fired a cyclone of leaves, but Scizor disappeared into the shadows as he managed to dodge just in time.
"Combo 10!" Austin commanded as Scizor emerged from the shadows before shooting out like a bullet toward Torterra
Paul knew that if it hit Torterra's tree, Torterra is finished.
He needed to stop it.
" Earthquake."
Torterra's foot crashed into the ground causing a shockwave to spread throughout the battlefield and causing Scizor to jump up immediately dodging the attack.
" Frenzy plant."
Torterra's giant roots attacked the airborne Scizor whose steel wing and dual wingbeat sliced apart everything.
Scizor reared his claw back before attacking Torterra's head with a bullet punch.

Scizor's claw shook as it pressed against Torterra's head.
" Hey, there boss looks like I can finally battle you," Scizor said causing Torterra's eyes to widen.
" Scyther ?"
Scizor's claw opened revealing a silver orb as a flash canon engulfed Torterra.
Paul's eyes widened as he saw his starter knocked out.
Scizor meanwhile looked at his claws.
He didn't know what to feel.
He thought that once he defeated Paul and his invincible starter it would feel amazing but currently Scizor felt nothing; no joy, no anger, no nothing.
" Scizor."
Hearing his trainer's words, Scizor turned to Austin.
To Scizor, it didn't matter if he proved to Paul that he was stronger. All that mattered was that he was strong enough to protect his family.
" Are you okay ?"
Scizor in response just smiled.
"Ursaring! Stand by for battle!" Paul exclaimed as he threw a Pokeball and out of it was the large brown bear, and also one of the Powerhouses in Paul's Team.
" You want to continue."
Scizor nodded while Paul put on a bored face, as he knew that Scizor should be finished off soon. He could see that Scizor was getting weaker with every single turn.
' Maybe it is due to an item ?' Paul thought.
"Aerial Bullet!" Austin commanded.
Scizors ran with lightning speed and punched Ursaring in the gut with a bullet punch, sending Ursaring backward.
" Combat Combo!"
Scizor's dodged Ursaring's hammer arm with detect as he launched a superpower directly on Ursaring's face before hitting the bear with a one-two combo of brick break and bullet punch, sending Ursaring dazed temporarily.
Ursaring's eyes and body were covered in crimson aura while roaring as its Guts activated with the status "Drowsy".
'Oh no! With Guts activated, its Attack Power is increased!' Yellow thought while Paul gave a command.
"Ursaring! Hammer Arm!"
" Reversal!" both trainers commanded. Ursaring's arms glowed white, Scizor tanked the attack before hitting the bear right on the jaw, sending Ursaring flying into one of the rocks scattered with Rock Tomb, causing dust to fly. When the dust cleared, Ursaring was knocked out.
It couldn't survive Scizor's Life orb-enhanced attacks.
"Murkrow! Stand by for battle!" Paul exclaimed as he threw the Pokeball, and out of it was the bird Paul used earlier.
"Honchkrow! Dark Pulse!" Paul shouted.
" F- Turn."
Murkrow fired a purple beam of circles from its beak but Scizor's greenish aura light body appeared in front of Murkrow as Scizor's bullet punch crashed into its face before it went into its Pokeball with U-turn.
Murkrow struggled to get up as Scizor's attack had left him in an injured state.
" Pikachu, you want to tag in." Pikachu jumped from Austin's shoulders as he landed on the battlefield.
"Murkrow, Aerial Ace!" Paul commanded.
As the dark type flew toward Pikachu with its body surrounded by strips of white light.
" Discharge." Austin calmly said causing Paul's eyes to widen as Pikachu's released an omnidirectional wave of electricity engulfing poor Murkrow as it crashed into the ground with a thud, with spirals in its eyes, knocked out.
"Murkrow is now unable to battle! Pikachu wins!" Yellow declared.
Paul looked angry at the ease at which Pikachu defeated Murkrow who he had trained all day and night to be one of his strongest.
"Magmortar, stand by for battle!" Paul exclaimed as he threw a Pokeball, and out of it was the Fire-type.
" Volt Switch," Austin said causing Pikachu to look at his trainer in annoyance.
Come on, at least give me a decent battle.
" Flamethrower," Paul exclaimed causing Magmortar's Cannon to rise but the fire type only saw two orbs of lightning coming towards him as Magmortar flinch meanwhile Pikachu kicked Austin's leg before crossing his arms.
Austin meanwhile chuckled at his partner's behavior as he threw out a PokeBall.
"Wartortle! Rain Dance!" Austin commanded.
Wartortle's tail glowed blue and let out a stream of water towards the sky. And not before long, it started raining. Paul was expecting this.
"Magmortar. Thunderbolt." Paul merely commanded. Magmortar then released a bolt of electricity from its body.
" Lightning rod." Austin calmly answered as Wartortle's iron tail slammed into the ground as thunderbolt had little to no effect on the water type.
" Icicle Rain!" Austin commanded.
Wartortle pushed his glasses up as he released the blizzard towards the rain clouds causing the raindrops to turn into ice spikes.
Magmortar grunted as it felt the ice spikes hit its massive body.
Paul narrowed his eyes as he commanded," Fire blast into the sky."
" Shell Smash" Austin commanded causing Wartortle's shell to break apart before a white aura engulfed him meanwhile Magmortar's fire blast caused the clouds to disappear.
"Now wartortle! Water Gun!" Ash commanded.
" Spiraling Jet!"
Wartortle quickly coated himself in water and swiftly charged at Magmortar using an aura sphere at its tip causing the aqua jet to spin faster and faster.
"Magmortar, Rock Tomb! NOW!" Paul shouted.
Magmortar then fired purple orbs of energy at the field. When the orbs landed on the ground, they became large stones that blocked Wartortle and also added more rocks into the field.
Wartortle dodged all of the rocks with little to no effort as he then rammed into Magmortar, sending Magmortar back.
A little taken back by Magmortar's weight and was sent flying back in front of Austin.
"Magmortar! Sunny Day!" Paul commanded.
" Redirection !" Austin yelled causing the water starter to dig into the ground.
Magmortar then fired an orb of energy from its arm cannons to the sky and soon enough, the rain stopped and the sum shined brightly once again. While Magmortar did this, Wartortle dug underground, leaving a hole.
"Magmortar. Thunderbolt." Paul commanded.
Magmortar fired a bolt of electricity from its arm cannons. It then went through the hole and that's when Austin saw the chance.
" NOW!" Ash yelled.
The ground beneath Magmortar erupted in a geyser leaving a hole underneath Magmortar, while the Thunderbolt flowed through the water and hit Magmortar! Magmortar was shocked and was damaged pretty badly.
"Use Surf!"
Wartortle then jumped, and the water from the lake came towards him and formed a wave for him to stand on. Wartortle then surfed towards Magmortar. He was too fast for Paul to call out a command and Magmortar took the hit.
"Hit that Weakling with Thunderbolt!" Paul angrily yelled.
Magmortar tried to move his cannons up but the turbulence of the surf was too much for Magmortar and Magmortar finally fell, defeated.
"Magmortar is unable to battle! Wartortle wins!" Yellow declared.
Down his last pokemon, Paul looked at Austin with a glare.
" Electabuzz finish it off with thunder."
Electabuzz appeared and fired an extremely powerful electric attack but Austin was ready.
" Coating rod !"
Wartortle's tail glowed with steel-type energy as it slammed into the ground causing Thunder to have no effect but something weird happened as Wartortle's skin glowed with a yellowish-green liquid before he fired a wave of psychic energy at Electabuzz who was pushed back quite a few feet.
Wartortle smirked as his lightning rod and mirror move combo had quite the effect.
" Rest up buddy, we have bigger fish to fry," Austin said causing Magikarp's PokeBall to shake.
" No, Magikarp that is just an expression of speech," Austin said causing the fish pokemon's PokeBall to calm down.
Pikachu meanwhile looked up to his trainer, was it my turn?
Austin didn't even try to meet Pikachu's gaze as he released Scizor into the battlefield meanwhile Pikachu looked at his trainer in shock.
" Pika, Pikac, Hu ' [ You betrayed me
These were the words Pikachu was trying to convey to Austin who decidedly chose to ignore him.
Scizor's eyes meanwhile narrowed at his biggest bully during his time with Paul.
" Fire Punch!" Paul commanded as he wasn't sure if Scizor knew how to negate Electric Type Attacks.
" Leaf Dance !"
Scizor took a deep breath as he closed his eyes.
Electabuzz arrogantly smirked as he attacked Scizor with a firey fist but just a few inches away from Electabuzz's punch, Scizor effortlessly dodged it with detect while simultaneously using swords dance.
" Brutal Punch !" Scizor's claw shot out like a bullet as steel and dark type energy warped around it.
Scizor grabbed Electabuzz's face and crashed into the ground.
" Discharge !"
" Fling."
With the speed difference between the two, Scizor threw Electabuzz away with a fling.
In the sky, Electabuzz released discharge before landing on the ground.
" Aerial Impact !"
Scizor shot towards Electabuzz as pure energy swirled around his body.
"Hyper beam."
Under the shocked eyes of the crowd, Scizor's giga Impact tore through hyper beam as he crashed into Electabuzz sending him flying past Paul towards the trees.
Seeing Electabuzz knocked out, Yellow called," With the defeat of Electabuzz, Paul is defeated."
Yellow exclaimed as it saw Scizor's swirl eyes.
Even when knocked out, Scizor didn't fall.

Yellow was overjoyed as she clapped her hands together with excitement.
" With the knocked out of Electabuzz, Paul is defeated."
Paul merely returned his Electabuzz, before walking away. Suddenly stopping, Paul asked," How did you get so strong ?"
Hearing Paul's question, Austin answered with a smile behind his mask.
" I treat my pokemon as family, not weapons."
Paul looked down before leaving with a lot on his mind.
" Quite the touching moment," A voice from behind caused Austin to turn towards it. He saw Green standing there, looking at him with an innocent expression on her face.
"Who did you steal from?" Green asked.
Austin was taken aback by Green's accusation.
"What? Do you see me in that light? Even after feeling...?" She replied but was immediately cut off by Austin, who clasped Green's face.
"That was an accident and you know it," Austin stated firmly.
Green's expression changed to a smirk. "Oh really? You seemed to have enjoyed yourself," she teased.
"No comment," Austin answered back, causing Green to reply, "If you want me to no comment, then I may need some green if you know what I mean?"
"Great poetry, William Wordsworth," Austin replied, causing Green to raise an eyebrow in confusion.
At that moment, the two were taken out of their conversation by a cough. A little boy stepped up to the battlefield, ready for a Pokemon battle.
"I will win that fossil Pokemon. Go, Cheeky!" Joey said as he threw the PokeBall, revealing the Pokemon that caused Yellow, Pikachu, and the others to freeze in shock.
In the center of the battlefield stood a large, rodent-like quadruped Pokemon with tawny fur and a cream underside. Its narrow black eyes and large incisors were prominent features, as were its ragged-edged ears with dark insides. The Pokemon had three whiskers on each side of its face, which it used to maintain balance, and short arms with three-fingered hands. Its webbed feet, with three toes, allowed it to swim with ease. Its long, scaly tail added to its intimidating appearance.
"Raticate!" Joey exclaimed as the battle began.
Austin took a deep breath as he gazed upon the formidable Raticate, his mind flashing back to the time when he held its lifeless body in his arms. The memory brought with it a feeling of overwhelming fear and sadness that he couldn't shake.
His hands began to shake and his heart felt like it was stuttering in his throat. Suddenly, Musharna appeared and expelled a dream mist that covered Austin, leaving Joey and the audience confused.
From the dream mist cloud, Lucario appeared, ready for battle. Before Joey could even issue a command, Lucario had already charged forward and kicked Raticate out of the arena with ease, like a football.
"Hmm, how did that brat do it?" Lucario muttered, clearing his throat. Then, he jumped up and crossed his arms, yelling out, "Suuiiiiiii!"
Lucario looked back at Ditto, who had transformed into Austin to fool the audience. "Hmm, I can see why he was shouting this every time he scored in the match," Lucario said, giving Ditto a nod of praise.
Ditto couldn't help but blush at the praise, but he was still extremely worried for his trainer. Austin's emotional state was fragile, and he was afraid that the sight of Raticate had triggered a negative reaction.

Away from the battlefield, Yellow and Green looked on in worry as they saw the way Austin clutched onto the wall for support.
Austin was feeling like his ears would burst, like everything was simultaneously too loud and too quiet. The hands and fingers touched him, trying to help but making it worse. The voices were too close and yet too far away. From the tears falling down his cheeks and the rapid rise and fall of his chest even though he wasn't getting in enough air. He knew.
Austin's body began to radiate with an aura.
" Ash, please be ok, everything is going to be fine." Yellow hysterically tried to help as her palms glowed with white light but her powers were only able to calm his aura.
"Everybody but yellow back up." He knew that voice.
So calm and collected and yet with just the right amount of urgency and charge.
"Back up."
Green said as she slowly removed Austin's mask.
" Take a seat on the floor, Ash"
Austin felt gentle hands on his arms as he was helped onto the nice cool floor, his heart still racing, his chest still rising and falling too fast, nausea overcoming him.
"Do you understand what's going on?"
He shook his head. Or he hoped he did anyway. The world was turning in all the wrong directions and he couldn't be certain.
"You're having a panic attack."
Green said as the face accompanying the voice came into view, kneeling in front of him, and if he could have done he would have breathed a sigh of relief.
"Green..."
"Shh." Green interrupted and Austin was grateful because he had no idea what he was going to say anyway. "Focus on slowing your breathing down. I'm going to take your hand, okay?"
And then Green took him by the wrist, placing her hand flat palmed against his chest and the thief could feel Austin's heartbeat.
"Ash." Green's voice was firm. "I need you to breathe with me. In through your nose, 1... 2..." And Yellow continued to calm down Austin's raging aura while green continued to count, and her other hand came to clutch at his opposite wrist and it occurred to Austin that Green was monitoring his pulse. "Out through your mouth."
Austin did as he was told, hearing Green's praise. "In through your nose. 1... 2... You're surrounded by myself, Yellow, and Pikachu. Out through your mouth."
And slowly but surely, Austin felt himself begin to calm down. His racing pulse slowed and his breathing evened out. Nausea lingered, but it wasn't as strong. Green continued to hold onto his wrists. The noise had turned normal and the lights were no longer so bright.
"That's it." Green's voice remained calm and Austin latched onto that, looking up to meet her eyes. "Ditty, can you go and bring me a wet paper towel? Cold water. Pikachu, can you go and get bottled water, please?
His eyes never left Green's as he spoke and the pair fled to fulfill their errands.
"Do you feel like you can stand up?" Austin nodded and Green slowly helped him to his feet. "Keep breathing slowly, Ash." He pulled up a seat to sit opposite him as Ditty returned with the cold paper towel and Pikachu brought a bottle of water so cold condensation was dripping from it.
Austin felt the blessed cold of the water as the paper towel rested over the back of his neck and he took the proffered, already open bottle of water from the profiler, taking tiny sips.
" Ash, are you ok ?" Yellow asked as she battled against her tiredness as took his hand.
" Yeah," Austin answered before Yellow hugged him.
Reciprocating the hug, Austin heard Yellow whisper.
" Please, don't scare me like that."
Rubbing her blonde hair, Austin answered," I won't"
Hearing no reply, Austin looked down to find Yellow sleeping peacefully in his arms.
" Oh, wow, I feel like I am going to get cavities just watching you two," Green said before writing something in her notepad.
" What is that ?"
" Your cheque."
Before Austin could ask anything, a massive explosion came from where the previous tournament was happening.
Austin took a deep breath as his eyes glowed red.
Looks like his plan to bait team rocket was successful.

[ Pallet Town - Ketchum Household ]
Delia Ketchum sat in her living room, flipping through the channels on her TV. She couldn't believe what she was seeing - a prequel for her favorite show that seemed like a soulless cash grab. As she channel-surfed, she stumbled upon a news report from Celadon City.
"Hello there, Martha," the reporter said, "you're currently live at the fossil tournament, aren't you?"
"Yes, that's right, Jeff," Martha replied. "A new masked trainer has appeared in Celadon City Park and is currently conducting a tournament with the prize of a fossil Pokemon. Hundreds of trainers have gone back in defeat, but who will overcome this powerful titan of a trainer?"
Delia watched intently as the footage from the tournament played on the screen. Suddenly, the screen went black, and the footage was replaced with a view of a giant Clefairy robot in Celadon park.
The robot turned around, and a voice came through a microphone, saying, "Oh? Well, then, prepare for trouble!"
"And make it double!" another voice added.
Delia watched in confusion as a small hatch on the robot's head opened up, and a platform rose from inside. Two people emerged - a girl with long green hair and a boy with short blonde hair. They were both wearing black boots and gloves, as well as matching white uniforms with a big red "R" on the shirts.
"To protect the world from devastation," the girl said.
"To unite all peoples within our nation," the boy continued.
"To denounce the evils of truth and love," the girl continued.
"To extend our reach to the stars above," the boy concluded.
"Jessica," the girl introduced herself.
"Jeffery," the boy followed.
"Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light!" Jessica said.
"Surrender now or prepare to fight, fight, fight!" Jeffery added.
Delia's heart raced as the coverage was immediately cut off. "We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the connection has been lost," the host said in a hurry, looking at his co-host in shock. "We will immediately give you an update on the situation."

[ Celadon City Park ]
Austin and Pikachu soared through the sky atop Pidgeot's back, their eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of trouble. In the distance, a dark plume of smoke rose from the eastern side of Celadon City Park.
"There!" Austin exclaimed, pointing in the direction of the smoke.
Pidgeot flapped its wings with increasing intensity, as the trio picked up speed, racing toward the scene of the disturbance. Pikachu beamed with pride, watching his trainer fearlessly take on whatever lay ahead as he had finally conquered his fear of heights. But as he turned to look at Austin, he noticed that his trainer had shut his eyes, clutching Pidgeot's feathers tightly.
Pikachu couldn't help but chuckle to himself, with a bead of sweat running down his forehead. Perhaps, he had spoken too soon.
As they drew closer to the commotion, the sight that greeted them was nothing short of chaos. The people of Celadon City were frantically running away, as Lucario erected barriers to protect the fleeing citizens from a barrage of missiles launched by Team Rocket's latest invention.
"Guys, go with Plan B!" Austin's voice echoed in the minds of his trusty Pokemon. The villains, Jessie and James, looked up to see the young trainer approaching Pidgeot's back.
"Oh, looks like the trainer is here. Hey, give us the fossil Pokemon!" Jessie shouted as she lifted the giant robot's fist, ready to strike. Suddenly, a deafening boom shook the earth, causing the villainous duo to flinch.
A figure shot down from the sky, landing with a thud in front of the retreating crowd. A cloud of dust erupted, obscuring the view, and forcing Team Rocket to pull back from their attack.
" Clefable!" Austin called out, relieved to see his trusted companion standing tall in the face of danger. The pink fairy Pokemon glared at the enemy, ready to take them on.
Jeffrey's face twisted in fury, as he pushed a button, unleashing an army of robots that advanced toward Clefable. But the Fairy type was unperturbed. She smirked, standing her ground as the small robots approached.
As the lead robot drew near, black shadowy tendrils shot out from Clefable, impaling each robot with precision. The army fell apart, and the lead robot began to fire missiles from the top two, while the lower two arms of the robot tore the rest of the army apart with ease.
Team Rocket was left speechless, watching as their entire army of robots was decimated before their very eyes.
After the last robot was torn apart, Clefable looked up at Team Rocket and her face was smeared with a look that asked, "What's next?"
Team Rocket then grew angry before they shouted, "FINE! WE'LL STOMP YOU OURSELVES!" and started using the robot to throw punches at the heroes, only for them to dodge each one, with missiles that were shot from the fingers being shot back by Clefable's gravity manipulation, damaging and eventually breaking the glass in the robot's stomach, leaving its core vulnerable.
"All right!" Luacrio said before Team Rocket moved the robot above the cloud layer.
"What's wrong, Team Rocket? Running away?" Austin called.
"Just the opposite. If we can't get the fossil, then, we'll just destroy you all with a body slam from our robot!" Jessica called but her words were spoken too soon as the robot was suddenly torn apart.
" Good job, Pikachu," Austin said as he looked at his tired buddy who had used magnetism to destroy the metallic behemoth.
Jessica and Joffery looked at one another as they tried to fish out their Pokeballs before they were suddenly teleported away.
Austin smirked as he tapped down.
" Good job, guys." Austin praised as even though he hadn't captured Jessie or James, now he had a few tea rocket members in his hands.
" Hands in the air," Officer Jenny exclaimed as she got out of her car only to find Austin just staring at her in front of a broken-down robot.
" A little late now, officer," Austin said as he thought of how he should approach the next part of his plans.
