As Sidonia goes to nighttime most people are going to sleep while others are still up until they start to hear music coming from where nagate and izana are then one of them says what is that music? Man-Where is it coming from? As the music continues playing Tsuruuchi, samari and sei are drinking until they hear the music and samari says that music doesn't sound like it's from Sidonia. Sei-It must be from nagates universe. Samari-Probably…this music sounds peaceful almost makes you want to go explore space. Sei-Kind of but it sounds more of song to dance to. Tsuruuchi looks up and replies you don't say then looks towards samari and replies what do you say samari care for a dance. Samari smirks then replies why not it may be our last night to do so then she grabs Tsuruuchi's hand making him surprised and they begin dancing together.
Throughout Sidonia some people also begin dancing to nagates music but as for yuhata and tsumugi they fall asleep together in the artificial sea and for yuhata she is asleep on top of tsumugi's body holding on to one of her tentacles from her prob and cuddling together. By the next day everyone in nagates home is asleep with their lovers yuhata in nothing but her white t shirt and green underwear laying next tsumugi in her bed and for nagate and izana they are in nagates room cuddling with maya. As they cuddle izana smiles proudly as she is with her family and wearing her necklace again nagate had gave back to her after they danced the night before. As nagate wakes up he smiles as he sees maya tucked in with izana and then as he begins to lay back down, he hears yuhata saying everybody up now. Her scream wakes up everybody in the house and as they all come down nagate says what is it yuhata? Yuhata-The captain just called me after the gauna cluster past planet eight it launched smaller gauna and their heading to lems sun. Nagate-It what? Izana-If the gauna destroy the collectors we won't be able to fire graviton radiation emitter. Maya-But how did they learn of them? Nagate-It must have been from the intelligent type gauna. They must have either watched us or learned it from the absorbed pilots. Maya-How will we stop them? Yuhata-The captain has ordered me to take all Mizuki ships with tsumugi to stop them while izana goes with her recon team to find the main core of the cluster and to buy time for the yukimori to be finished.
Maya looks down sad and says are we going make it through this battle then as teruru comes in with mia nagate goes to maya and says hey were going to make it because were more than friends maya were family and families always come back together. As the group smile, they all then walk toward each other and form a group hug. Hours later as the Sidonia begins loading mechs onto the ships izana is heading to her ship until she hears izana wait. She turns to see nagate rushing to him and says what is nagate I need to get ready for the mission. Nagate-Just wanted to wish you good luck and to be careful on your recon mission. Izana-I will nagate and you be careful to. Nagate-I spoke with Hiyama she's going to look after maya and teruru while we're on our mission. Izana-What who told maya and teruru they couldn't go on the mission. Nagate-I did. Izana-What why? Nagate takes both her hands and says because I want part of our family to be safe if something does happen to us and I know it won't, but I just wanted them safe. Izana smiles and says thank you nagate then as they put their heads together, he says were going to get through this izana together and she replies I know we will then she kisses him on the lips and heads for her guard. Mins later as the ships launch yuhata says this xo midorikawa all 13 ships are interlocked and preparing for hyper jump. Captain-Good luck midorikawa were counting on you. Yuhata replies we wont let you down then as she cuts connection tsumugi comes on and says don't worry yuhata were going to make it just like nagate said were a family. Yuhata replies yes, we are then she presses a few buttons on the console then the pilots says all ships are ready for hyperjump. Yuhata replies alright then let's go and all the ship jump to hyperspace. As the ships are leaving both nagate and izana think of each other as they are drifting apart and as he watches the monitor, he says be careful izana. After nagate changes into pilot suit he notices Kunato coming out and calls out his name. Nagate-Kunato hey? Kunato-Nagate I've been meaning to talk to you. Nagate-Same here. The doctors told me what happened to you and your sister. How is she doing? Kunato-They told me she's going to be ok, but her recovery will take longer because when she was caught in the explosion, she lost a lot of her skin. As Kunato begins to tear up nagate puts his hand on his shoulder and says hey she will pull through I know she will because families always stick together.
Kunato laughs then says you always had way with words. Nagate-More or less. Kunato-Nagate I know how Ochiai is going to take the titan. Nagate-How? Kunato-If he somehow manages to cross over and gets to it he's going to create another gauna core and place it inside the main power unit so it can absorb it and become another gauna and he'll finally have the power to create a hybrid world. Nagate-I won't let that happen, there has to be some way to reach him to convince him this is wrong and besides without dimension power and the time key he can't activate the gate. Kunato-That's the thing from what I remembered he scanned the gate and discovered it still has energy left in it, but it can only opened once and he already knows about the key through izana. Nagate-I know but don't worry, the key is in a safe place, and I already have a way to jam the microchip that's in her and luckily it's just her. Kunato-It's not just her. Nagate-What are you talking about? Before he can answer the speaker goes off saying the suppression fleet has been intercepted and is taking heavy fire. Nagate screams wait what and rushes off with Kunato to the pilot ready room. Elsewhere on Sidonia teruru is walking with maya and Mia with a few other civilians until maya says we almost there. Teruru-Were almost there maya. As they turn a corner, they run into sakiko and her minions then she says well if isn't the teruru and maya. Teruru-Is there something I can help you? Sakiko laughs then says yes there is then she and her minions pull out guns making teruru shocked and stands in front of maya to protect her then sakiko says you can some with us. As teruru stands there angry two guards come up from behind and say what's going on here? Before teruru could answer sakiko ends up walking forward and shoots the guards making maya scared and teruru holds onto her then sakiko walks back and says as I was saying you two will coming with us or you will end up like those dead guards.
As teruru look at the guards laying on the floor she replies understood and holds on to maya as they walk with sakiko as hostages. Sakiko-Mako we have them. Mako-Good everything is going as planned as my father has for seen. I've already broken into nagates ship and found the time key. All we need now is to wait for Sidonia to fall and my father can build a new world. Sakiko smirks and replies understood. Back with nagate as they get back to the ready room nagate is pushing through a crowd asking what's going on what happened the suppression fleet? Akari-The gauna somehow intercepted them while they were in hyperspace. Nagate-What how that's I'm possible the gauna shouldn't have been able to intercept them in hyperspace? As nagate watches he sees the fleet joint connection has been separated and the gauna begin attacking the ships until he hears tsumugi says the ships hyperdrive are down go on with out us. Yuhata-But tsumugi. Tsumugi-Will be ok yuhata now go. Yuhata hesitates then says ok tsumugi. Be careful please. Tsumugi-I will yuhata and don't worry yuhata will see each other again. As the ships enter hyperspace yuhata says I know we will and proceeds to lems star. Nagate watches as he sees the ships that couldn't make take heavy fire and replies dam it, I need to do something and heads for the Yukimori hanger. As he heads there izana warns sidonia that the gauna cluster is moving faster and has launched more gauna with the intelligent type leading them. The pilots begin to worry since their guards use autonomized modes they can't stand against the intelligent type gauna even the captain she begins thinking on what to do until she says will intercept the gauna all crew turn the ship and prepare for bombardment. The series twenty will proceed to lem. The crew reply understood and as they begin activating the defense systems the captain says in her head I'm sorry everyone I didn't want to let any of you die but we have no choice. As nagate stands in the hanger ready to launch he says I want more than anything to go to izana. But I can't leave Sidonia…captain the series twenty will join in the defense. I can get the intelligent type and still make it. Captain-There isn't time. If we want to take out the large gauna cluster the series twenty need to go to lem now. Nagate-But that leaves Sidonia vulnerable to attack. Kunato- Director Sasaki, let me use the tsugumori custom two. Sasaki-Huh what do you mean you know not just anybody can use that. Kunato-This is unofficial, but here are my training records of the tsugumori. Sasaki- Seriously…hold on you've been training since you were a child? And look at these amazing ratings. Nagate-Kunato I…Kunato-Lets win this war so you can go and save your world. Nagate tears up then says Kunato…thank you and they both shake hands. Then then both get into guards and prep for launch as the claws begins moving their mechs into the launch tube and as they do nagate looks at the photo of the time when he and her were under the cherry blossom tree then as he feels the mech lock in the engines power and as it finishes, he says this is yukimori launching and Kunato says tsugumori two launching. They both fly out the launch tubes and they leave Kunato joins the defense squad nagate flies off to help the ships that didn't make it. Back at the ships many of the guards had taken damage along with tsumugi she had lost most of ena tissue and as she lays there, she dreams of her and yuhata on a hill side with yuhata sleeping on her and when she comes to, she begins coughing and reaching out her hand while saying yuhata i…I need you. The remaining guards sit on top of the damaged vessel as a massive gauna inches cluster making hamagata says I don't even know if we have enough ammo to take it down. Hoshina-We have to try because if we don't take it down it kill us. Hamagata-It won't happen…all guards take it down fire everything you got. The guards open fire with all the ammunition they have but to no avail as their ammunition is impacting the surface and as hamagata fires his last shot he begins to panic until something comes flying in and disintegrates the gauna.
The pilots wonder what it was until they see nagates guard behind them and are glad he's there. As he gets out of the mech he yells out tsumugi's name making her nagate where are you? Nagate goes to her hand and says don't worry tsumugi im right here…why isn't she in a bio tank. Hamagata-All the tanks on this ship and the others were destroyed in the surprise attack. Hoshina-The only other ship that has bio tanks is the flag ship. Nagate-Then that's where all take her. Hoshina-What you can't take her there. She is in no condition to move. Nagate-It's the only way and I need to deliver the transceivers so we can take down the gauna cluster quickly and I can get back to my universe. Hamagata-Why is it so important for you get back to your universe is the titan that important you. Nagate-Its is hamagata just like Sidonia is to you. The titan is the last hope for my people and if the drej destroy its all over. Hamagata makes a sad look then replies I understand then after nagate gets in his mech he gently lifts up tsumugi he says don't worry tsumugi I'm taking you to yuhata. As tsumugi holds on she says thank you nagate making him smile then nagate accelerates to the flagship of the suppression fleet.
At lems star the fleet is managing to hold on but have already lost 6 collectors and are about lose another one to the gauna. Crew-Subcommander we just lost collector sphere six. Yuhata-Dam it were losing too many and we only have two left just focus on the defending the remaining two no matter the cost. The guards and fleet continue defending the remaining spheres until an intelligent type gauna shows up. It begins attacking the guards then proceeds to the sphere but before it could do anything something fast goes by the guards and disintegrates it. The guards think it's nagate, but they then see that's its Ochiai. He begins attacking the guards and wiping them out one by one then as he approaches the collector, he starts to absorb the energy. As yuhata watches she then tells the guards to destroy the collector but before they can Ochiai turns around and fire his heigus cannon wiping out guards and gauna at the same time. Yuhata stands there shocked saying he's wiping out everything even his own comrades then after he destroys the collector, he turns to the ship alerting yuhata then just before he does anything he sees a glimmer and core round comes out of nowhere hitting him.
Nagate has arrived with tsumugi then before Ochiai could do anything the remaining guards chase him away and as nagate brings tsumugi to the ship yuhata sees her then quickly rushes to the hanger. As nagate is putting her down yuhata comes out screaming her name. Tsumugi-Yuhata is that you I can't see you. Yuhata-I'm right here tsumugi. Nagate-Take care of tsumugi for me mio. Mio-We will nagate. As nagate begins to leave yuhata yells out nagate thank you for bringing her back to me . Nagate-Your welcome yuhata and don't worry about Ochiai all take care of him. As yuhata smiles nagate then flies off after he receives word that Ochiai is heading to the last collector and as he passes by the other guards, he tells them to leave Ochiai to him. Samari-What are you going to do normal weapons won't penetrate his armor. Sei-You also have to be careful of his heigus beam nagate. One hit from it and can destroy the yukimori. Nagate-Its ok I've got a plan to avoid it. Sei-Roger. As nagate is flying across the sun's surface Ochiai looks behind him saying you came after me alone nagate tanikaze. You must be Saito's double...you're willing to risk your life for Sidonia just so you can go back huh...in that case. Ochiai fires his cannon knocking the collector out of orbit and it alerts yuhata on the ship. Yuhata-The series nineteen propulsion system can't handle that gravity which means...nagate it's up to you. Only you and yukimori can follow him. Nagate-Don't worry yuhata I got this. As nagate follows Ochiai into the sun he thinks in his head there has to be a way to get to you Ochiai this isn't your path. Back at Sidonia the defense lines keep falling one after the other as the gauna swarms attack them then at the last defense line kunato and toutarou join the in same squad and as they open fire three gauna along with the intelligent type break through the defense line and enter Sidonia through one of the guard hanger bays. As the guards continue defending Kunato and toutarou go after the gauna that went inside the Sidonia and manage to defeat them mean while on the bridge as the crew is giving out orders Kobayashi requests a status from izana of finding the main core in the gauna cluster. Izana-We've narrowed it down to six hundred cores.
Kobayashi-Keep scanning for the main core it imperative you find it we won't get many shots off with the graviton beam emitter. Izana-Understood mam. As Kobayashi closes the channel mako walks on to the bridge making her say mako what are you doing here shouldn't you be preparing the launch your blackguards, Mako looks at the captain then says there's been a change of plan then he pulls out a pistol and shoots the crew injuring them then points it at the captain. Kobayashi-Mako what are you doing? Mako-Making shore that you nor nagate can get to the titan. Don't worry I'm not going to kill you my father wants to see the look on your face when we destroy everything you've ever cared about. Kobayashi-Father wait your…Mako-Yes that's right I'm the son of the great scientist Ochiai. Kobayashi-But how? As mako is walking Kobayashi to nagates ship he begins saying my father grew me in secret and had changed my genetics so I would look different from him and the day after my father was sealed away, I was born. I changed my name and from that day on I continued his work in secret. Kobayashi-But you know his work is dangerous it nearly destroyed this ship and lost everything. Mako-Who cares what you think. My father will get what he wants and complete his mission. Kobayashi-And what about you mako? What will you do once it is complete. Mako-I will transcend and become a hybrid just like my father and nobody will be around to stop me. Kobayashi responds with that won't happen and she turns to attack but mako stuns her knocking her out then mako picks her up and carries Kobayashi to nagate ship. Back with izana she continues scanning the cluster with her scout team for the core until they manage to find the primary core and when her team begins to fly off, she receives word that nagate is fighting Ochiai in lems star then she stops to look at the star and after she says be careful nagate she starts to feel the chip inside her start to take over. At lems star nagate has chased Ochiai deep into the core and both of them exchange fire between each other and locked in a circular formation until nagate manages to get the upper hand as ochiai fires his cannon nagate pulls back on the stick making the yukimori do barrel roll just as the beam came close to it and he fires his railgun straight into ochiai's eye destroying his cannon and most of his ena. As Ochiai floats there weak he remembers the time where he helped Hiyama build her suit for her to live and as he looks at her, he says this all I could with our current technology. If you leave this life support suit the ena inside will kill you. I'm sorry Hiyama, I wish I could have done more. Hiyama looks at her robot arm through her suit and as she spins her claw, she says I could get used to this thank you Ochiai making him tear up. As Ochiai comes to he looks at nagate and says are you going to kill me nagate tanikaze just like the captain order. Nagate hesitates at his words then Ochiai continues what gives you the right to end my life.
I can save humanity and with the help of your mother ship we could create a hybrid world filled with power and nobody could stop us not even the gauna…the reason I didn't want to destroy the cluster is because if I can learn to control it, we could bend the gauna to our will and nothing could stand in our way. Nagate tightens his grip on the controls then says Ochiai that isn't our path. Our path is to rebuild a new home so humanity can grow naturally and live that's why I'm trying to get to the titan so I can build a new home. Ochiai-And once you do, you'll just keep it for yourself so you people can thrive. As Ochiai looks down with sadness nagate replies no so I can bring it over to this universe and reunite the human race in this one. As Ochiai looks up he says you do that why would you? After everything the captain and mako put you through. Nagate-Because my mother always said to me even though people could be terrible or distant you always find a way to help no matter what situation there in. Ochiai looks up surprised then remembers something similar from when a visitor came to Sidonia many years ago. Flashback thousand years ago (As Sidonia is traveling to a soler system to potentially colonize they come in contact with a visitor from another universe and after boarding he explains everything to the captain and Ochiai.
Ochiai-Do you really have to head back out there? Person-I do. Kobayashi-But you don't have to you could stay here and start a life. The man chuckles then he says I appreciate the thought, but I already have a life back where im from and shows him a picture. Kobayashi-Is that your family? Person-It is. It's my baby boy and he turned 2 years old before I left and when I launched my wife had said to me if something happens will always find a way back to each other. Kobayashi-Sounds like she a smart woman. Person-Indeed she is in fact she's a scientist and working on something that will help the human race survive. Ochiai-What is it exactly? Person-Not shore but its code-named titan project and she's fighting to save the human race. Ochiai-Why though what is some don't want to be saved. person-My wife always told me even though people are distant or different you always find a way to help them.
Ochiai- I see. Kobayashi-What is your boy's name? As the person gets into his fighter's cockpit, he says nagate his name is nagate…all my systems look good im ready to go. Ochiai then gets to the cockpit then as they shake each other's hands the person says I wish you luck in fighting the gauna Ochiai. Ochiai-And same to you with the drej Ochiai) end of flash back. As Ochiai looks at nagate he says you sound just like your father nagate. Nagate reacts surprised by saying wait my father then he gets an alert saying the seals on the yukimori have ruptured. Yuhata-Nagate you, ok? Are sensors just detected the seals on the yukimori have cracked. Nagate-I see it. Yuhata-You have to get the collector fast and push your engines to the limit to get out of there. Nagate-But even if I do my body won't survive. Ochiai-That won't be a problem. Nagate looks to see Ochiai attach himself to the yukimori then begins using his remaining ena to seal the cracks on the yukimori. Nagate-Ochiai what are you doing? Ochiai-Saving the last hope for this universe. Nagate-Please you don't have to do this Ochiai Sidonia can save you. Ochiai-Its ok I'm not afraid to die. I was torn away from the people that I cared about and killed so many but in this last act of retaliation I will save the last light of your universe. Nagate-Then tell me about my father where did he go how can I find him? As Ochiai body turns into particles he replies you will find your father soon but you must first face my son he will stop at nothing to complete my mission and acquire the titan. Then as Ochiai looks up he sends a message to Hiyama saying goodbye Hiyama. Thank you for everything. After Ochiai body falls apart nagate sits there surprised and sad at the same time even yuhata and the fleet are in shock at what just happened. Yuhata-After everything he did, he sacrificed himself to save nagate.
Nagate-Then let's not make his sacrifice go to waste. I deployed the transmitter and I'm coming up with the collector. After nagate gets to the collector he quickly pushes it up fast at full speed and after reaching the surface the guard team there quickly attach it to the satellite just as the other satellites come in range. The power is then sent through the satellites one by one just as Kunato and toutarou help the guard teams bring out the graviton radiation emitter. Kunato-Bridge this Kunato we've set up the graviton beam emitter and the energy is coming in. Bridge do you copy? Toutarou- What's going on Kunato? Kunato-I can't get through to the bridge something must have happened. Crew-This is the bridge…the captain has been taken hostage…I say again the captain has been taken hostage. Kunato-Wait what who took her? Toutarou-Will worry about that later the gauna cluster is almost on top of us. Kunato-Dam it bridge do we have the coordinates of the primary core. Crew-We do. I'm sending it now. Kunato-Understood.
Toutarou-What are you doing kunato? Kunato-I'm going to fire the cannon straight into the cluster. Toutarou -You need two people to aim the emitter. Kunato smirks then says then it's a good you're here. Toutarou blushes then goes over to help aim the emitter just as the gauna as the cluster gets to close to Sidonia then Kunato gets target lock on the cluster core and fires the emitter. The laser penetrates the surface of the cluster making the top of the cluster rupture and explode but not disintegrate. Kunato-Bridge what happened the cluster didn't disintegrate. Crew-There's a large gravity disturbance right in front of use. Kunato-How? Toutaro-It must be emitting from the planet. The cluster must of know of it so it can divert the beam away from its core. Mio-What do we do now? Sasaki-Kunato were going to fire the core mass drive cannon. Kunato-The core drive cannon are your shore the Sidonia can handle the recoil. Sasaki-We don't have a choice were loading it now. Be ready to fire Kunato. Kunato-Understood. As Sasaki crew is loading the massive bullet into the barrel Sasaki says this barrel and bullet were gifts from our ancestors, please may it protect Sidonia. As the barrel door opens up on the front of Sidonia Kunato gets target lock on the core and says this ends now then fires. Sidonia engines come to life as the bullet hurls through the barrel and accelerates out then it penetrates the gauna clusters core. After the bullet penetrates the core, the cluster disintegrates into dozens of particles making the crew say the gauna cluster has disintegrated. Toutaro-I can't believe it. Kunato-Its finally over. Th war is over. The Sidonia broadcast to the remaining units of the suppression fleet saying the gauna cluster had been neutralized and all of them say hooray except for mako as stand on the bridge of nagates ship angry.
