" Okay I'm here and just about to slide it under the gate," says a stranger talking into his cell phone holding a sealed envelope "Just deliver it and get out of there," said another voice from the phone.

" I gotta say this is sick what you're doing," said the guy as he slid the envelope under the gate "Yeah well this is what happens when I'm pissed off I'm getting him where it hurts," said the other voice before hanging up...

Sighing in an upset tone he looks out the window of his office " I'm doing what's best " he says staring at the restraining order...

Duncan's POV

Thursday

6:30 AM

How could I not think of this being paradise?

Sighing heavily my arms tighten around the body I enjoy holding close to me all night "Good morning " yawns Courtney partially awake " Morning babe " I answer before kissing her shoulder and neck, followed by hearing her light laughs. " I thought you were sleeping? " she asks looking at me " I was but then I thought we could..."

Sliding one hand lower down to her thighs Courtney muffles her gasp in the pillow followed by me going under the blanket " Duncan your crazy " she whispers sitting up and watching me as I go further down resting her knees on my shoulders "You bet I am " I answer turning my face to kiss and lick her inner thighs.

Hearing Courtney's breathing get heavy I knew I could get her to give in I've been wanting her more than ever...

Since the scare, we haven't been having much sex. Even when the doctor gave us the okay for us to go about our regular activities, Courtney's been worried especially since learning about the miscarry information.

" Uh...I was checking to make sure the floor was sturdy " I answer followed by knocking a few places "Yup it's good " I add standing up quickly and then hearing Courtney laugh quietly at me " your up early today young lady? " asks Courtney as she gets out of bed.

Serenity smiles at us very happily "Daddy you forget " she says but we both knew what today was "Could it go to work with parents' day? " I ask smiling only to make Serenity jump in excitement "Yeah yeah " she answers making us both smile.

" Time to get ready for work Daddy, " says Serenity pointing at the door "Okay come on let's get ready first and then have breakfast, " said Courtney walking over to Serenity "Hurry Daddy or we'll be late, " says Serenity only to make me snicker...

8:00 AM

Auto Shop

I was excited today when Courtney told me about "go-to work with parents day " I was all in for it.

Yes, Serenity has been to my shop a few times mostly to say hello, or if I watched her while Courtney went to school. Today was a full day of her seeing what I do daily.

And for the occasion, I even got her a little work shirt like mine with her name on it. When I showed it to Courtney she couldn't help but say "How cute it was ".

After breakfast, we said bye to Courtney and let her know we will be back for dinner while she did errands and cleaned up.

Serenity held my hand tightly walking into the shop as always the guys were working and doing their thing...

" Hey we gotta new worker today? " asks Marco as he looks up from the car he was currently working on "You could say that " I answer smiling at Serenity who hid behind me "Daddy what he doing? " she asks pointing at Marco who could only smile hearing her question.

Picking her up we walk toward the car's open hood "Well little miss this car is making a funny sound and I'm trying to figure out where it's coming from " explains Marco staring at everything inside "What kinda funny noise? " she asks looking at Marco.

Going to the driver's seat he turns the car on and I hear a weird loose heavy clanking sound whatever it was it's most likely inside hidden or stuck somewhere.

" See what I mean the owner has been hearing it for about a week and they have no clue what or where it is " explained Marco coming out of the car "Weird we just gotta keep looking " I answer about to walk away "Daddy I saw a shiny, " said Serenity pointing at the engine making me and Marco raise our brows.

" Where missy? " asks Marco rushing over "Where did you see it, honey? " I ask trying to see where Serenity was looking "There "She points to where the flywheel was and sure enough there was indeed some mystery shining object "What the f..."

" No bad words, " I said quickly to Marco "Right there's a lady present and her mom will be angry if she learned a bad word " replies Marco pointing a flashlight at the flywheel.

" I'll be damned how in the world did they get something stuck in there? " he asks looking at the object " I don't know " answered Serenity tilting her head to the side and making both me and Marco laugh "Other than that good job," I said looking at her " yeah very impressive little miss " replies Marco going back to work as we walk to another area to see what everyone was up to.

Wow...two men outsmarted by a three-year-old?

" I just might have to give you a job honey " I replied putting Serenity on the ground "Yay I can fix cars like Daddy" she cheered smiling brightly at me "Yes you can " I added.

Courtney's POV

11:30 AM

" Finally finished with the cleaning " I breathed looking at the spotless apartment that I'd wanted to clean and organize for weeks.

Now that the semester was finally over along with assignments and final exams I could catch up with other things. I'm so glad to have managed to balance everything with school and Serenity, but also I'm so grateful for the extra help from Duncan and Mrs.Stone I don't think I could have completed more without them.

Summer is approaching fast but I was considering taking a few classes so that I could be ahead, and I was told by my professors that since I'll be approaching my third year of college I can look into law firms so that I could intern. Which is a huge step for me.

I've talked to Duncan about school and how I wanted to take more classes to finish sooner but at times when I talk about it I get nervous, and I get it in my mind something doubtful will be said. I've been like this because of what I went through when I was pregnant, my parent's constant doubting and reminders of how they would say I lowered standards.

They caused me lots of emotional and mental damage which still gets me. However, when Duncan hears me sounding doubtful or sees me getting emotional there isn't a moment where he doesn't get angry at my parents, especially at my dad, he beats himself up for not being there to defend me.

Then the other part that worries me is that I might neglect Serenity but I remind myself that I don't have to worry anymore, Duncan is here now. He's already told me that if I want to take more classes then go for it.

That he can handle watching Serenity or his mom, that either one of them would have no problem watching Serenity during the day or night, along with saying the days of worrying and being alone are gone.

Smiling happily at how much backup I have now does give me that sense of relief and calmness I haven't experienced in so long. I know I say this a lot but I'm glad to have Duncan, how could I have convinced myself to hate or push my feelings for him away when he went to jail? But I was angry at him for making that mistake. I haven't even properly forgiven him...I definitely should, especially with everything he's done to show he's reliable.

Looking at the clock I still had plenty of time to complete errands before Duncan and Serenity came back, which also gave me time to figure out what to make for dinner.

Duncan's POV

12:30 PM

Deli Shop

Good thing the guys shouted out that they were going on lunch cause today I couldn't go late today.

" Okay ready for lunch? " I asked looking at Serenity walk beside me "Yeah I'm hungry " she replies smiling "Me too " I answer as we arrived at the deli where I discovered had the best sandwiches and my favourite beef with roasted bell peppers on long French bread.

Once inside the Don the owner immediately spotted me from behind the counter "Heeey Duncan nice to see you " he greeted smiling and walking to the counter. Don was Italian and very old-school, he came from a traditional family that had a deli and restaurant back in Italy.

"The usual or something different, " Don asks knowing my order all too well "Definitely but I'm going to need something else for this one " I reply gesturing towards Serenity who was looking at the variety of deli meats in the display case.

Surprised at first the owner looks at Serenity and then turns to me "Well now when did you become a Papa? " he asks smiling "She's so Bella " Don adds "Yup she takes after her mother " I answer smiling.

10 Minutes Later

We take a seat at a table after I order...

" Mmmmm smells tasty, " says Serenity as we look at the sandwich on the plate.

" It is tasty...are you ready to try something new? " I asked looking at her nod as she grabs hold of the sub " alright ladies first " I add allowing Serenity to take the first bite which ended up being bigger than expected.

Resting my head on my palm I wait to see her reaction will be "How is it? " I asked watching her chew "Efs goof " muffled Serenity her mouth full and covered with sauce only to make me chuckle grabbing a napkin and then wiping her face...

" Can I have a bite? " I ask leaning in followed by letting her feed me, it's moments like these that will forever stay in my heart...

After lunch when we got back to the shop I heard something...

* woof * * woof *

" Sit " shouts Tony...

" Daddy a doggy," said Serenity about to rush towards it but I grab her hand knowing that Tony brought his Rottweiler for reason unknown, " honey stay close to Daddy" I explained before we walk a few cars over to sure enough see the beast known as " Chomper " that thing loved chewing on anything and if a fight was picked with him beware he will chase you.

I don't know if Serenity should be around Chomper, he can be a good dog but he might scare her. Especially when he was 132 pounds.

When we arrived where Tony and Tye were working they looked nervous "Hey boss, " they said together knowing that I heard the dog.

" I know I know but I can explain why Chomper is here, " says Tony coming towards "Uh yeah especially with my daughter here " I reply eyeing the dog.

Tony takes a breath before explaining " he's normally outside at home but due to a pest issue in the yard a pesticide had to get put in the grass and I was worried he will eat it ".

Looking at Tony and then back at Chomper I understand the situation realizing he just wants the dog safe.

" Alright but keep him leashed, " just then Chomper walks over to Serenity sniffing her followed by licking her face only to make her laugh "It tickles " she laughs trying to block his kisses "Did I tell you he's a ladies' man " adds Tony watching the scene.

Making my eyes roll I shake my head "Okay he's good " I said picking up Serenity to save her from getting licked and to clean her up.

"Hey before I forget this was on the ground, " says Tye handing me an envelope "Thanks I'll open it in the office " I reply before we left but also get followed by Chomper.

5 Minutes Later

After cleaning up and setting up Serenity at the coffee table with paper and markers, Chomper lies down beside her.

I sit at my desk to see what was in this envelope, it was a bit dirty and aside from my name on it, there wasn't even an address.

" What is this? " I breathed opening it when I pulled out the letter I read it carefully...

" Mr.Stone,

Who are you trying to prove? Do you honestly think you are good enough?

Whatever your trying to show always remember your a delinquent and you always will be. Just do us all a huge favour and stay out of the way. Lastly, do you think you are good enough to be a father...especially when you're not the father of that child. Why bother taking care of a child that's not yours..."

After reading I couldn't help but shake my head that this letter was sent to mess with me.

I know what I'm good at, but what was throwing me off about this was how did they know where to send this to and how they knew about my past. Whoever sent this was right about me being a delinquent but that's in the past. Lastly, anyone who knows me that if ever Courtney or Serenity are disrespected therein for it.

I know Courtney enough to know she's loyal and beyond trustworthy, hell she was the only girlfriend I had that never cheated, unlike past ones who were caught easily.

I knew damn well Serenity is mine, Courtney explained everything when she found out we were having a baby. The timeline adds up and 2 weeks before I went to jail was when Courtney started getting sick. And when I first saw Serenity I felt a connection that only a child and parent have. Even though she looks just like Courtney she still has teal eyes which she got from me.

" Daddy you okay? " asks Serenity looking at me from across the room "Yeah honey I'm okay maybe daddy is tired " I explain smiling "Nap time," she says making me laugh " That would be a good idea but we're still working " I replied standing up from my desk.

Taking a breath I shake away the thoughts of what I read and not let it trigger me. I'm not going to let this destroy what I have.
