Hey guys! I'm soooooooooo sorry that I haven't updated this story in sooooooooo long! I am also very sorry that this is, unfortunately, not a new chapter. I just wanted to let y'all know that I am most DEFINITELY still writing this story and have NOT abandoned it! It's just taking me a little longer to write than I ever thought it would… Ok, a lot longer. I would just like to explain to you all, my awesome readers, what's happened over the last few months that is making it difficult for me to make regular updates on this story.
Not too long after I posted the last chapter I suffered from a mental breakdown. One of the main repercussions of my breakdown was that I lost my ability to write. Words no longer come easily to me; and as much I know what I want to say and what I want to write, I can't put it into words. I have recently started counseling for my breakdown and my mental health issues (which also affect my writing abilities). However, I am still recovering from my breakdown and largely feeling its effects. All that being said, though, I am still trying to write as best I can under the circumstances. It just takes me A LOT longer and I have to approach my writings with new methods and planning.
For the moment I have stopped attending uni; since writing assignments and exam questions are very difficult for me now, as I'm sure you can imagine. Of course, this means that I now have lots more time on my hands and am using it to concentrate on my stories. So (hopefully!) updates will be faster. But I can't promise anything because writing is still not a strong point of mine anymore.
I am finding it easier to write this story than I did my uni work; although I've been working on it recently and not really getting very far. The more I try to work on it though, the easier it seems to be getting, so HOPEFULLY I will be posting a new chapter in the near future. I do have a tiny bit of Chapter 3 written from before my breakdown; so as a little treat, a sorry-for-not-updating-soon and a sorry-for-slow-future-updates I have posted it below.
Thank you to everyone for reading and reviewing my story, and for bearing with me through my difficult time. This twisty story will be worth the wait!
Chapter 3 (Sam's POV):
The next couple weeks seemed to drag, and everything just got more and more confusing as time passed. I've seen Jake almost every single day over these last few weeks and everyday he has an animal at his side. To be fair, it isn't a different animal every day, I've seen the dog quite a bit. She's actually really friendly and absolutely loves playing with Blaze, my family's border collie, and Singer, Blaze's half coyote son and my present to Jake for his eighteenth birthday. I do really like this dog; but there are a lot of other animals that follow Jake around too, and some of them are weird. That eagle for example, that's a strange one I never expected to see. Plus, they all seem to show up at the strangest of times, disappearing just as quickly and bizarrely too. I know, that's really confusing, just let me explain. See, this eagle of Jake's I've seen a couple times, but only when he's searching for something.
