Shine 8/9: Iglimar Strikes!
A/N: It's been so long since I've done this, my excuse is that um. . . I don't have one but I'm so surprised that this is my highest rated story! With over one and a half thousand views and twelve reviews!
^Day 4 around two O'clock - Delfino Plaza^
Mario had jumped off the Shine Tower and was now swimming back to safety, he jumped out of the water and pulled himself up near Cujo's house. Cujo hadn't been doing anything to Mario other then give him the occasional food, Mario knew that deep down Cujo still believed he was the cause of their disaster.
"Hey Mario!" Yellow Toad says waving at his hero.
"Hey Yellow Toad!" Mario says walking to the happy looking Toad.
"Toadsworth wanted me to ask if you're okay since while we've been bathing in hot tubs, getting tans, surfing, dancing, playing sports, watching plays and having the best time of our lives you've been busy working for a crime you didn't do."
"Well uh," Mario began, he was quite annoyed at how the Toad sounded like he was bragging about all the wonderful things he's been doing. "I'm fine, a tad underfed but I've been given a place to stay at."
"Oh okay Mario, see ya! Hot tub here I come!" The Toad shouts running off.
"Hey Toad!" Mario shouts and ran to it, it stopped to see what he wanted.
"Yeah Mario?"
"If you see a Shine Sprite could you help me out?"
"Sure Mario! I'll double check Sirena Beach's waters for any Shines, this just means I'll have to surf again! But I'll take one for the team!" The Yellow Toad shouts and ran off.
"You seem more happy when talking to those funguses."
"Shout up FLUDD! That fungus is a close friend!"
"What's its name then?"
"Yellow Toad!"
^Corona Mountain | Hidden Base^
"I watched the whole thing and it was horrible!" Wes shouts as the higher ups sat around a table again. At the table was Luigi, Wes, Iggy, Bowser Junior and Bowser.
"You could have helped," Bowser Junior mumbled.
"At least you got through the portal," Luigi says.
"You probably should take that out now," Iggy says pointing at the Durian stuck in Bowser Junior's soft, unprotected belly.
"I'll wait for a doctor."
"Come on Junior, if I had that in me I'll yank it out with my teeth!" Bowser states.
"How would your teeth reach?" Wes asked.
"I think I should send in Iglimar like I had planned to do, any objections?" Luigi asked eyeing everyone. "Good, I'll go set thing up. Come on Wes I'll need you."
"Yes Luigi," Wes says and the two left. Bowser then looked at his youngest son.
"Come on, I'm sure Iggy would pull it out with his teeth if it were him," Bowser states.
"I would get a doct-"
"You would pull it out with your teeth!" Bowser yelled.
^Later - Bianco Hills^
Mario warped to the top of the hill and saw Mr. Shades waiting for him.
"Hey Mario, some fat thing is here!"
"So?"
"It has a Shine," Mr. Shades says.
"I'll do my best!" Mario shouts running down the wet path towards the large village.
"Funny how he knows if something has a Shine Sprite, wouldn't you-"
"NO! I trust Mr. Shades because he is wearing Shades and has an awesome surname that fits with his style of clothing!" Mario shouts and slipped on the path, he fell into the same log again. Once out of the water he saw a random circle of goop with a palm tree in it, he sprayed the goop and the Pianta who always gets gooped popped out.
"Woo! Thanks again Mario! I was going around trying to form a group for people who've been gooped when suddenly the small sample of goop I held to show people what it looked like broke from its beaker and sent me under!" The Pianta explained.
"How did a beaker break?"
"I tripped over and- hey my beaker!" The Pianta shouts picking up an empty beaker.
"So it just spilled onto you when you tripped, okay thanks for wasting time," Mario rudely says and ran off. He entered the village and saw nothing was wrong, except from the few buildings getting repaired from Petey's failed attacks. (The ones lost from the Colosseum came back) "Hey Emile, have you seen anything suspicious?"
"My Electronic Pulse Detector radar is showing high amounts of unusual electrical energy coming from somewhere outside the village, you should head towards the Windmill."
"Um, okay," Mario says and ran to the broken down wooden fence, he went through and entered the area with lots of trees and looked around. Nothing was out of place.
"Head towards the Windmill I said." Mario nods and ran across the white path and reached the hill's bridge, standing there was a yellow Pianta.
"Hey Mario, look at that thing up there!" The yellow Pianta says pointing to a large creature sitting atop the windmill, the creature was really big and had spikes protruding from a large green shell. (The one from Pinna park but with actual spikes and much larger body) Arcs of electricity were firing from the spiked tips of the shell.
"That look dangerous," Mario observed.
"Well, it isn't natural, go kill it Mario!" The yellow Pianta commands and Mario ran across the bridge and up the mountain. Once he reached the highest point he jumped onto the windmill's platforms and rode it up much like his first fight with Petey. He jumped off the platform and looked at the huge turtle creature.
"GALLLLLARGH!" It screeched loud enough to hurt Mario's ears. Mario glared at it and sprayed a jet of water at it, the electricity arced through the water and zapped Mario, making him scream.
"I would recommend not using conductible resources as a form of attacking," Emile suggests. Mario makes a fireball in his hand and threw it at the beast, the fireball hit its yellow head and made the thing scream at Mario again.
"That really hurts! Stop it!" Mario yelled and threw some more fireballs, the thing screamed every time one hit. Eventually the thing jumped up and slammed back down onto the recently fixed roof of the windmill, this broke the roof.
Mario landed safely with FLUDD and looked at the thing.
"STOP TRYING TO BURN ME!" It screamed in an electric sounding voice.
"Oh sorry, I thought you were some insentient creature unable to think," Mario admits.
"I'm here to destroy this place! Now get out of my way or I will crush you!" The thing yells as it stomped forward with a loud bang.
"So you must have a Shine Sprite!" Mario yelled pointing at it.
"Oh yes, I have one of those things! Now move it buddy or get fried!" The thing yelled.
"No! I won't be scared by a nameless thing!"
"Names Iglimar, now beat it or be beat!" Iglimar threatened, Mario ignored the threat and threw a fireball at Iglimar's left eye. "Alrighty! You've done it now!" An arc of lightning struck at Mario and the blast sent him flying into the stone wall, he collapsed to the ground and stood up on wobbling legs. Mario jumped aside as another arc of lightning flew at him. Mario ran around Iglimar and stood behind it. Mario kicked the hard shell and hurt his foot, an arc of lightning then blasted him into the wall painfully. Mario got up and laughed as Iglimar began to slowly waddle around to face him. Mario stopped laughing to dodge an arc of lightning, the electrical attack hit the stone wall and did nothing. Mario ran around Iglimar and threw some fireballs harmlessly against its shell.
"Try a different tactic. Since it can attack you whether you're facing it or not try just attacking the head," Emile suggests and Mario nods. He ran back around and threw a fireball at Iglimar's face.
"I told you to stop that! It hurts!" Iglimar yelled fired multiple arcs of lightning at Mario, most hit and he was pressed against the wall. He fell off it and left a large dint.
"Every time that happens I feel you stab into me deeper and deeper," Mario mumbled to FLUDD. Mario then threw some more fireballs at Iglimar and jumped away from the incoming arcs, he was right about the attack because moments later the wall was blasted by around ten arcs of lightning.
"Stay still!" Iglimar yelled and tried to face Mario again. When it was finally looking at Mario a bunch of fireballs blasted into its face. Mario jumped at Iglimar and grabbed its head and started to yank on it. "Hey uh!? What are you doing?" Iglimar yelled frantically as Mario tried tearing its head off. An arc of lightning hit Mario and blasted him against the stone wall again. "Now my neck hurts! See what you've done? Bright red marks right across it! See!" Iglimar yelled bending its neck to show the red mark. Mario quickly sprayed a stream of water through the exposed gap and into the shell, as Mario did this Iglimar attacked. The electricity arced from the shell's spikes onto the wet neck and then formed an electrical circuit with the water inside the shell. "ARGH! IT HURTS! STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!" Iglimar screamed as the electrical current began to get more intense on top of the unprotected back hidden under its shell. Mario took the chance to from fireballs at Iglimar and some even got down the screaming mutant's throat.
After what seemed like hours Iglimar stopped screaming and its four legs gave way. "Whew, what-ah hassle," Mario groaned and was knocked against the wall when Iglimar exploded, a Shine Sprite now rested in its place.
"Great work electrocuting it with its own attack, you may actually have a chance against that clone of yours," FLUDD nicely says as Mario took his ninth Shine Sprite and warped away.
