Super Luigi Sunshine! Part 17: Calling for the Cult.
Shine 3/14: The Harbours giant cage.
A/N: I hate myself for having to state this but, this story has somehow delayed itself for over a year! O.O I hate my slowness. . .
Also, a cultist group is revealed in this chapter but it has NOTHING to do with religion.
^Day 5 still | 9:13 AM - Delfino Plaza^
Mario awoke to a loud banging noise. He jumped out of bed and looked around worried. The noise came again. It was coming from his door. Mario ran over and opened it, a Police Pianta stood there angrily.
"Alright now mate! You listen up!" The Pianta angrily ordered as it pointed a large, cyan tanned hand at Mario. Mario nodded quickly and worriedly. "Eyewitnesses have reported spotted a Shine Sprite locked up in a tower at Ricco Harbour that is being guarded by a huge Dragon! We believe you are to blame and thought you were flaunting off your evilness by trapping a Shine Sprite in a large V-I-P's boat!"
"I've been here all morning," Mario tiredly admits.
"You lie! I saw you harassing poor Mr. Bell earlier today! Mr. Bell is a very respected man who owns both the 'Useless Tower' and the 'Bell Tower'!"
"Oh yeah, I guess I slept in. . . [short pause] I was only going to sleep for a few minutes to refresh myself."
"I doubt that! You were just tired from your harbouring experience! Look at you! Even wet from the harbour's water!" The Pianta accused slamming his hand down onto Mario's shoulder.
"The water is from jumping off the Shine Gate," Mario admits, his voice sounding untruthful because of how scared he was of the Pianta's very gun looking weapon attached to their belt.
"Why were you up there huh!"
"I was returning-"
"Stealing!" The Pianta interrupts. "You were stealing another one weren't you! Well I won't put up with this! Nohohooo! I'll be a good coppar and stop you!" The Pianta rambled.
"How about I just get that Shine I supposedly locked up and return it to you?" Mario suggested, either way he needed the Shine Sprites.
"Alright! You have till midday to get the Shine out of that cage! Now beat it!" The Pianta yelled pulling Mario out of his house and making him fall face first into the pavement. Mario jumped up, pushed passed the Pianta back into the house, grabbed FLUDD and ran away.
^Station Defrost^
"Just a little longer and we'll have you all stitched up!" Iggy tells the crying and bleeding Gooper Blooper as he sat at a computer desk typing an email.
"But it hurts! I can't be going out seeing hot Bloopers with a large wound on my-"
"We get it, just be patient!" Luigi interrupts.
"Sorry but these painkillers don't seem to be taking effect," A Pianta Doctor says jabbing Gooper Blooper with a sharp stick for proof. "By chance is he a Blooper? Our painkillers don't effect those thing because of their immunity systems being much more higher then ours."
Iggy groaned in annoyance but Luigi spoke first, "His last name is Blooper, have a guess!"
"Actually it's Gerald, my first name is Gooper Blooper," Gooper Blooper corrects.
"Well I guess he is one. Sorry but I can't subscribe any type of painkillers more powerful then these ones," The Pianta admits standing up from where he had been crouching.
"Know anyone who can?" Luigi asked.
"Actually, I don't. No one can."
"Why's that?" Iggy asked as he typed.
"Because of our strange immunity systems anything of a more lethal dose would kill us and you can probably see why we aren't allowed to subscribe that sort of stuff. [pauses] Anyhoo, I should probably be leaving. Do I have to be blind folded again?"
"Anyhoo? You mean 'anyway'?" Luigi asked.
"No, anyhoo. I won't explain because that wrecks the purpose of slang."
"Then okay, Iggy you mind taking him away?" Luigi asked looking at Iggy type, he couldn't see the message and had no idea who he was typing to.
"Busy with my email, can't you take him?"
"Alright, where's the blindfold?"
"Behind your chair on the table I think."
"Thanks." Luigi then blindfolded the very trusting Doctor and led them out of the secret underground base known as Station Defrost.
Iggy reread his message and smiled. "Time to get the group back together!" Iggy thought to himself out loud and sent the email to his fellow cultist members.
^Day 5 | 9:22 AM - Ricco Harbour^
Mario landed down at Ricco Harbour and was shocked to see how many boats, machinery and other stuff had entered and ported at the harbour since he last visited merely a few hours ago. His eyes spotted something that reflected the dull light into his eyes and found the Shine Sprite! Locked up in a huge golden tower made of wires that was attached to a beautifully made golden ship with the initials F.A.U.K on it. (Proofreading A/N: Just realised this seems like a rude joke, the initials aren't spelling a misspelled bad word but are actual initials of a real life person I'm referencing to)
"Well hello there Mario, long time no see!" A man wearing a golden coloured suit says as they walked to Mario. The Pianta wore golden rimmed sunglasses and had their hair gelled back into a strange wavy cowlick look. Their hair also seemed very out of place considering that most Piantas only have palm trees has hair and not actual black hair.
"Do I know you?" Mario asked the Pianta backing off a bit.
"Of course you do! It's me Felix! The Mayor of all of Delfino Isle! Except two places but they aren't important," Felix mumbled. "Anyway! My dear boat was given a gift but I can't accept it due to this crazed Dragon that keeps attacking myself and others. Please stop this beast and, well I guess collect the gift to help aide your adventure."
"My adventure?" Mario repeated.
"Yes. . . the one about restoring your name? Didn't you have to clean up Delfino? Or is that all over? No one ever tells me these things! Heck, I'm not even supposed to be out here until the Dragon's gone!" Felix rambled.
"I'll do my best!" Mario shouts and ran to the waters edge and stopped. He had no idea how he was going to reach the top of the tower or even the bottom of it.
As he ran off he could here the mayor still rambling, mostly about how it was a bad idea wearing his sunglasses so early in the morning.
"Hello Mario!" A rasping sneer. . . rasped. Mario looked down into the water just in front of him and saw something swimming up towards him, it broke through the water and knocked Mario away with something. Mario flew backwards and almost into Felix.
"Watch out! That's the Dragon!" Felix yelled pointing at the huge crystal Dragon as it landed onto the stone ground not too far away.
"You again!" Mario growled standing up.
"Yes! And I am in another form as you can indubitably see!" Crystal Spear roared. She looked like a huge Dragon with wings as long as an Albatross's but made of crystals and had sharp spikes on the outlines. Her hands had six sharp crystal claws and her long tail was covered in spikey crystals and ended with a large spikey ball of crystals. Mario could only see one orb and that orb was located at her chest. She was also very tall, easily taller then Petey.
"Let me guess! You're after that Shine Sprite!" Mario yelled pointing either at Crystal Spear or the shine that was way off in the distance behind (and above) her.
"Nope, I'm here for guarding duties this time! My master wants me to stall or kill you! So I've chose the latter of the two!" A stream of water blasts into Crystal Spear's single orb doing nothing but wetting it. "Really? Water isn't effected against crystals!" Crystal Spear lunged forward at Mario who used his jumping abilities to backflip up into the air and land on Crystal Spear's head.
"As of recently you seem quite skilled at life for some reason."
"Shut up FLUDD!" Mario yelled as he threw some fireballs at Crystal Spear's wings before falling off her head.
"Once again, fire isn't effective on crystals!" Mario strafed aside to avoid a beam of fire that Crystal Spear generated with her mouth. Mario jumped into the water and quickly began swimming towards a large boat. Mario reached the boat and, with great effort, climbed up the smooth and curved surface and landed on the deck. Crystal Spear smashed down onto the deck smashing the boat into two main pieces. Water surged up and the boat quickly began sinking.
"Stop chasing me!" Mario yelled and jumped onto a higher segment of the boat and then long jumped onto another boat. Crystal Spear jumped from the old boat onto this one and broke it. Mario threw a fireball at Crystal Spear's orb and she quickly blocked it with her large left wing.
"My Oil detectors are detecting vast amounts of oil around you." Mario looked down and noticed that the boat which Crystal Spear had destroyed was full of Oil Blobs and Oil Spikey Blobs. The Blobs fell into the water and died, but instead of disintegrating like normal they flowed out across the water.
"Why aren't they dying?" Mario asked as Crystal Spear swung a huge claw at him, Mario was sent flying into another boat smashing into it.
"Maybe only my water can do that," Emile suggests and Mario groaned a little as he stood up. He was inside one of the rooms in a boat.
"Hey dude, mind getting out of my boat! I don't want that Dragon thing wrecking it!" A Yellow Pianta yelled.
"Sorry!" Mario shouted and jumped through the hole he made, he landed safely in the water and swam down under the surface hoping Crystal Spear wouldn't look for him underwater.
"How long can you hold your breath?"
"Longer than you!" Mario retorted but instantly regretted doing so. Water rushed into his mouth and Mario quickly swam up to the surface choking and coughing.
"That was really stupid," Crystal Spear states swimming up from under Mario and lifted him up into the air.
"You were down there?" Mario screamed and jumped off Crystal Spear. Mario swaps to the Hover Nozzle and uses it to land safely on a golden boat.
"Cool! I've-ah made it!" Crystal Spear slams down onto the boat without damaging it.
"Good luck making it to the top with me here!" Crystal Spear growled. Mario clasped his hands together and pushed them both forward making a beam of fire. The beam of fire blasted into Crystal Spear and because she wasn't expecting it made her lose her balance and fall off the boat into the water.
"Where's the door! Where's the door!" Mario screamed speaking very fast. Mario ran around the base of the huge tower searching for the entrance to the lower deck.
"Maybe you should just climb the tower?"
"And what! Get bombarded by that crystal beast! No way!" Mario yelled and after finding no door jumped up onto the tower and began climbing up the wires. After climbing for quite some time Mario noticed the sound of wings flapping and looked behind him.
"Hi," Crystal Spear mockingly says as she hovered in the air. (With her wings)
"Please don't!" Mario begged.
"Give me a set of good reasons!" Crystal Spear jested.
"I need to restore my hero status and save Delfino Island!" Mario wailed.
"The place is called Isle Delfino not Delfino Island, but I'll just wait till you reach the top and then knock you off!" Mario then took one hand off the tower to throw a weak fireball at Crystal Spear, who easily dodged. Mario quickly climbs up the tower hoping to somehow climb faster then Crystal Spear can fly.
^10:22 AM^
Mario reached the top of the tower and quickly looked back at Crystal Spear, she wasn't there.
"Hey cool! She got-ah bored!" Mario exclaims happily and looked back at the tower he was clinging on to. "How do I get in?"
"Maybe that's why she flew away after the first ten minutes of climbing."
"You saw her fly away? Why didn't you tell me! I was climbing faster then normal!" Mario then made his way slowly down the tower, forgetting that he could just burn through the metal.
Once down Mario looked around the golden boat for an entrance. "How do I get into this thing!" Mario screamed.
"Hey Mario!" Felix says literally next to Mario, Mario screamed throwing a fireball at Felix in surprise. The fireball missed.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh nothing, I saw you climb up my boat and thought I'll drop on by since the Dragon left, so how was the view? Doesn't it look lov-"
"How do I get in!" Mario angrily growled.
"In? Oh just enter on through the door."
"What door!"
"The one underneath my boat."
"Why [short pause] is it under the boat?" Mario growled.
"No robber ever thinks to look there! Isn't it a brilliant idea of mine!" Felix brags, Mario however already jumped off the boat.
^Corona Mountain^
"Come on now! We had Mario at Ricco for over an hour and you didn't even steal Peach!" Luigi angrily yelled as Bowser Junior, Bowser, Wes and himself sat around a large table with breakfast on it.
"He means rescue," Bowser quickly adds.
"Yeah, rescue," Luigi repeats.
"I was busy, and someone should have told me he was there!"
"Maybe you should be more visualent!" Wes snapped.
"Is that even a word?" Luigi asked.
"My intention stands whether it is or isn't," Wes responds.
"How could I be?"
"Just leave Junior alone! He's only young!"
"Maybe he shouldn't be the one taking her then," Wes growled.
"He has the device though," Luigi says.
"Take it," Wes states.
"Hey, I only messed up once! He hasn't even got the shi-"
"Hey guys!" Iggy interrupts as the large 4k television turns on revealing his face at Station Defrost.
"I was talking," Bowser Junior mumbled.
"What is it Iggy?" Bowser asked.
"Mario just got another shine, do we have Peach yet?" No one answers. "I'll take that as a no, bye."
"So what were you saying now?" Wes asked glaring at Bowser Junior.
