For the next few weeks, the team helped Owen get settled into the safe house. Alex still felt as if something was off about him, but stayed quiet about it.
Tomorrow was the 3 month mark of Alex's pregnancy, and the stress was getting to her. Nikita tried to calm her down by talking about other things.
"Nikita, tomorrow I turn 3 months pregnant. Time's going by so fast! I don't have anything planned whatsoever!" Alex exclaimed, pacing her bedroom as Niktia sat on the bed listening.
"You know, we never do anything together. Just the two of us," said Nikita. Alex didn't hear her, and kept talking.
"I mean, I thought I could do this but I don't know anymore," she continued. Nikita sighed.
"Maybe later we could go out," she tried again.
"Just tell me one thing," Alex said looking in the mirror and rubbing her stomach. " What am I going to do in 6 months?"
This time, Nikita stood up and walked up to Alex. She grabbed her arm and spun her around to look at her.
"Alex stop! Just calm down for a minute." Alex took a breath and stared at Nikita. "Good?" Nikita asked. Alex nodded. Nikita stared back as she said, "What's the one thing all of us have been telling you for the past couple months?"
Alex looked down and smiled a little.
"Well?" Nikita asked. Alex lifted her head.
"That you're all here to help."
Nikita smiled back.
"Right. Don't ever forget that." She told her, pulling Alex in for a hug.
Alex ran down the stairs to grab a drink from the kitchen. When she made it to the bottom, she noticed Owen up to something in the living room. Staying quiet, she hid by the stairs and watched him.
"Yeah yeah I know, but what am I supposed to do?" Owen said into his phone. "What? You're not serious?"
Alex could hear a voice yelling at Owen on the other end of the call, but it didn't sound familiar. After another minute, Owen hung up. Alex came out of hiding and entered the room.
"Owen?" She said causing him to turn around.
"Oh, Alex. Hi," he answered. Alex crossed her arms and nodded towards the phone.
"Important call?" She asked. Owen gave a guilty smile, then suddenly shut his eyes tight and brought a hand up to his head. "Owen? What's wrong?" Alex cried, reaching out for him.
"I'm fine," he replied. Alex sat him down on the couch. "Was I just on the phone?" He asked Alex. She raised her eyebrows at him and sat beside him.
"You mean, you don't remember about 30 seconds ago?"
Owen shrugged. "No, not really."
"Do you remember anything from before you got here? Did Amanda capture you and..." Alex started, but Owen interrupted.
"I told you. I gave up looking. I never saw her."
Alex stood up from the couch.
"Okay. We're going to see Nikita right now," she told him as she started walking back to the stairs. Just then, Owen's phone rang again. Alex spun around and watched him. He picked it up and slowly brought it to his ear.
"Hello?" He said into it. Owen just listened after that. His whole body froze on the couch. Alex took a step towards him.
"Owen?" She nervously called to him. Owen hung up the phone and stood up from the couch. When he didn't turn around, Alex marched back to him. She grabbed his arm and spun him around. "Owen what is the matter with you?"
Owen stared at her with a blank look in his eyes. "I'm sorry Alex," he said. Alex lowered her eyebrows in confusion. Before she could question him, Owen raised his hand and squeezed Alex's neck until she passed out and fell into his arms. He began carrying her towards the door, but stopped when he heard someone walking upstairs.
"Shit!" He exclaimed, and carefully placed her on the floor. Ripping off her father's watch, he shoved it in his pocket and ran outside alone. Owen jumped in one of the team's cars, and sped off.
Seconds later, Nikita was walking down the stairs when she saw Alex unconscious on the floor.
"Alex!" She cried and rushed over to her. "Alex, can you hear me? Alex!" She said, giving her a shake. "Michael! Birkhoff, anyone!" Nikita yelled. Michael was the first one to run downstairs and knelt down beside Nikita.
"What happened?" He asked her, also trying to wake Alex.
"I don't know. I came down and she was just laying here." Nikita replied. The rest of the team joined them a minute later, and Alex started to wake up.
"Alex. What happended? Does it hurt anywhere?" Nikita asked her immediately. Her and Michael helped her sit up as she answered,
"No no, I'm okay. Where's Owen?"
"What does Owen have to do with this?" Birkhoff asked her. Alex rubbed her already sore neck and leaned again the wall.
"He's not himself..." she started.
"Wait a second. Owen did this?" Nikita asked, both angry and concerned.
"Yes but, something's off about him. He's changed. Almost as if..." Alex paused.
"Almost as if what?" Ryan came in.
"Almost as if he's Sam," Alex finished. Everyone was silent, then Sonya spoke up,
"Where is Owen?"
They all enchanged glances, then Nikita helped Alex stand up. Ryan walked to the door and looked outside.
"One of the cars is gone," he announced. Alex looked down for the time and noticed her bare wrist.
"My watch is gone too," Alex said.
"I dont understand," Sonya blurted out. "Amanda's dead. How did this happen?"
"Must have happened before that." Michael stated. "Whatever the reason is, it has something to do with Alex. Or at least, it does now."
Alex suddenly became pale and felt sick. The thought of being in danger again, especially with something related to Amanda terrified her greatly.
"Well then. We better find Owen quickly." Nikita said, and proceeded to get her gun. "You'll stay here with Ryan, Birkhoff, and Sonya while Michael and I go after him."
Alex gave Nikita a sad look and moved towards her. Nikita noticed and shook her head before Alex even spoke.
"Don't even think about coming along. You're staying here," she ordered her.
"Nikita, this is about me. And he has my father's watch," Alex said sadly. Nikita handed Michael a gun and opened the front door.
"Alex trust me. We'll find Owen and sort this out."
Michael and Nikita said goodbye and headed outside. The rest of them walked to their laptops and began tracking them, leaving Alex looking out the window. She held her stomach as she watched Nikita and Michael pull out of the driveway and head down the street.
