Lady Skyelite- First off thank you for taking the time and leaving such an in-depth review. I don't want to give too much away as far as what happens in the story but I'll explain what I can. Bella hasn't explained about Eve to Jasper, because Eve told her not too. Though not many know of the possibility of Eve's existence, those who do would love to control her, and its safer for people not to know about her. Bella is safe because her mind is silent, so no one with a mind reading power can ever extract that information from her. Bella doesn't have any left over feeling for Edward and is more afraid of jumping into another relationship than anything else. Bella has been trusting her instincts more, which is what lead to her sleeping with Jasper.

Chapter 10

JPOV

Bella is hiding something from me I can feel it no matter how hard she tries for me not to. But, I don't push her if she wants me to know she'll tell me. I think I pushed her enough as is already with the other night.

I may not have used my gift on her, but I knew it was the effect mating pull. I wanted to wait to tell her that she was my mate and let her decide the next move, but I had sex with her instead. I feel like such as asshole. Maybe I should…

My phone beeped a message and I reached into my pocket to answer it.

Whatever you're thinking don't. Asshole.

Alice of course, it was just a thought I wouldn't have actually done it. I have to protect Bella from whatever it is that's going on around here. Those random attacks on covens Mykel spoke about may have finally reached the US and there's a good chance they were after us we were the only known clan to live in this area. But maybe they were visitors but either way Bella won't be out of my sight for long.

I dial Carlisle phone. I know he'll be at work but this is important, he picks up after three rings. "Yes, Jasper what can I do for you?"

"Hey Carlisle can you keep my location a secret, even from Edward?" I don't want him to come back and disturb my mate, and I doubt she'd want to see him anyway.

"Yes sure son, what's going on?" I can hear the concern in his voice.

"I'm back in Forks, picking up some stuff from the old house. When I got here there were about 4 vampire scents they're about a day or two old and one much older I couldn't really pick up its signature smell. We're you expecting visitors?"

"No, I wasn't. Be careful Jasper they might be back. You're still apart of the family no matter if you're here or not. Could you maybe…" he pauses, "could you check to make sure Bella is ok?"

I smiled at how much he cares for her she truly is his daughter. "I spoke to her, she's doing fine. I asked her about the vampires and she mentioned one of them approached her and killed Victoria and some newborns she had created."

"Newborns?! I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Carlisle! It's ok I've got it under control the minute I don't I'll let you know."

He takes a deep breath; his chair creaks as he falls back into it again. "Can you call around and figure out what's going on because none of this feels right Carlisle."

"I'll let you know what I find out later."

"Thank you, Dad." I hung up and turned around to find Bella staring at me. "Hey what are we doing today?"

She rolled her eyes. "You mean what am I doing today? You don't have to protect me Jasper, it's not your job."

I just stared at her giving her a look that told her that I was not leaving, and I wasn't. If she wanted me out of her house, then I'd step outside but the only time I wouldn't be there was when I unfortunately had to hunt.

"Fine. I don't really have anything to do today really I could read but I'm not feeling up to it now."

The room was silent as we were both awkwardly standing there avoiding each other's eyes. This was more complicated than I thought; maybe I should just tell her about being mates. She deserves the truth, but give her a choice she'll always have a choice.

"Bella?" She looked up at me confused her mouth slightly open, her lips pouty. What I wouldn't give to kiss those lips again.

"Yeah, Jasper?" I shook away my lustful thoughts. "Did I say I was sorry for making everyone leave? Because I'm truly sorry."

"Jasper," she breath out and shook her head. "It's not your fault. I saw you, your eyes didn't even change, and the expression on your face." She paused. "I might be wrong but you looked kind of scared."

I turned around and faced the opposite direction of her. She was right I was scared; I'd never been as scared as I was that night. Not even when Maria lunged at my throat to change me.

She placed her warm hand on my upper back, and heat seeped through my shirt and warmth traveled all through my spine. I instinctively purred at the comfort, and Bella moved closer so that her body was flush to my back.

Trying to hold onto the very last bit of my restraint was difficult. But as soon as I smelt her arousal I could help but turn around and capture her lips with mine. She moaned into my mouth, and pushed herself farther into me.

Her hands traveled up my shirt and she raked her nails across my chest. I moaned and shivered at the feeling. I picked her up, ran to her room at vampire speed and placed her on the bed. She grabbed my shirt and pulled me out top of her, and I let her. She'll be the death of me, and I'll follow her to the ends of the earth.
