Chapter 4

Katherine yawned as she waited for Damon to come back. Maybe she should have let him take the blood bags. He was taking forever. She felt her eyes starting to close as she tried to keep them open. She was so tired, she hadn't slept in ages. Katherine looked at her wrist to see there was no watch there. Katherine sighed in frustration and then felt sleep consume her.

A few minutes later, Damon got back in the car and slammed the door causing Katherine to jump awake and smiled at Damon tiredly. He found this amusing, she looked dead.

"Hooray, you're back!" Katherine cheered sarcastically.

"Aww, look at that, you're all sleepy now. Another reason why we shouldn't have went at night."

"Go fuck yourself, Damon." Katherine yawned.

"No thanks." Damon started to drive off. "You should have let me bring the blood bags."

"I'd rather you feed on some poor soul than drink blood in front of me. After a few days of being human, I can see why the Bennett witch hates vampires. They're so disgusting."

"Says the person who wants to become a vampire again."

"Let's just say, I don't wanna be either right now." Katherine said.

"Go back to sleep until I tell you to wake up." Damon compelled causing her fall back to sleep. He was kind of glad she had no vervain on; he could compel her to do what he wants. Thank you Elena for making her human Damon thought happily.

Lacey pulled up at a hotel. Bonnie was glad that the car ride was over, it was so awkward. No one spoke after Danny made them apologize. Bonnie should have just stood her ground and stayed at home. She was so tired.

"How are we gonna get in?" Danny asked as they got out the car. Finally someone is speaking.

"I've got a plan." Lacey started.

"What is it?" Jo asked

"We just walk in like we already live here."

"That might work." Bonnie said while looking thoughtfully at the ground.

"How about we just show him the letter and maybe he'll let us in. He has to." Jo suggested

"That's not gonna work"- Bonnie shook her head -"because I mean, look at the guy, he's too busy watching the covalence cameras. If we walk straight pass him, he won't notice whereas if we walk up to him, he obviously will notice and he won't let us in. So let's try Lacey's idea." Bonnie and Lacey went to walk in but Jo's voice cut them off.

"Oh that's right, Lacey's plans always work." Jo said sarcastically

"What?" Lacey glared at Jo

"Everyone should listen to Lacey, right?" Jo said.

"What?... What the hell is she on about?"

"Jo, just shut up for once-" Bonnie growled.

"Guys, guys, let's just do Jo's plan, maybe it will work." Danny suggested causing Lacey to roll her eyes.

"No-" Bonnie started but Lacey cut her off.

"Fine." Lacey said as she looked at Bonnie. "Les do, Jo's plan."Bonnie shook her head, she couldn't believe that Lacey actually agreed with the plan. Jo was really stupid, her plan definitely wouldn't work.

Damon stopped the car for petrol. As he put the petrol in, remembered that Katherine was asleep in the car and that she was also human and humans need food to survive. He should have just left Katherine and gone by himself.

"Katherine, wake up." Damon went in the car and shook Katherine.

"Wh-what?" Katherine woke up confused.

"Here's some money, get yourself something to eat." He held out some money.

"Can't you get it for me? I'm weak and human."

"You make being a human sound so horrible."

"That's because it is… please Damon, plus there's girl in there that you could feed on. Just take some of her blood put it in a bottle and compel her to forget."

"Fine." Damon said after a while. Damon walked into the shop. Katherine looked in the review mirror to see Elena's vervain necklace in the back of the car. A few minutes later, Damon's phone rang. Katherine picked it up to see it was Elena calling. Katherine smirked wickedly to herself.

"This should be fun." Katherine said before answering the phone. "Elena." Katherine said as she picked up the necklace from the back seat and put it in her pocket.

"Katherine?" Elena sound confused on the other end. "Where's Damon?"

"In the shop getting me some food." Katherine replied.

"Where is he going?"

"We're going to see his other girlfriend, Bonnie."

"They don't like each other, Katherine."

"Bonnie hasn't told you! Well, that's what you call a bad friend."

"What didn't she tell me?"

"She kissed Damon behind your back." Katherine said simply.

"Bonnie wouldn't do that."

"Oh really, even ask her and Caroline. Bonnie's the type of person that can't bare guilt and Caroline's a little big mouth, they're bound to tell you soon."

"You're just trying to get me upset-"

"I'm just trying to tell you the truth. Come on Elena, you've seen they way they look at each other, you've seen the way he looks at her.You hear they way they talk to each other, they way he flirts with her and you can actually see the sexual tension, it's so thick."

"I don't believe you."

"Of course you don't. I see why you don't believe me; I wouldn't believe me, I mean this is because of who I am, right? The devious, evil, psycho bitch… Or is it because you know it's true but you just don't wanna believe it?" Katherine asked.

"Don't you have anything better to do than ruin people's love lives?" Elena asked causing Katherine to laugh.

"I love it! Elena's rubbish sassiness is back!" Katherine sarcastically cheered. "Elena, here's a tip, don't try to be sassy, it's not your thing… plus don't try to be sassy at inappropriate times, I am now one hundred percent convinced that you believe me."

"I swear Katherine, the next time I see you, I will kill you."

"Rubbish threats don't scare me."

"Katherine, you seem to forget you're human."

"And you seem to forget that I can always turn back off of a stronger vampire." Katherine said as she looked out the window to see Damon coming back towards the car. "Oh well gotta go, I have more important things to attend to, like food."

"Katherine, don't hang up."

"As if I'd listen to you." Katherine laughed before hanging up on Elena and quickly putting the phone down. Katherine watched Damon get in the car. "So, what did you get me?" Damon held out a chocolate bar and a bottle of water.

"A chocolate bar and water? Wow, you really know how to go all out." Katherine took the chocolate bar and the bottle of water from him

"Who was that?" Damon asked.

"Who was who?"

"On the phone."

"Oh, it was Elena, she wanted to know where you were going."

"You didn't tell her, right?"

"Why?"

"I don't want her to know."

"Why?"

"Because, I just don't."

"No, there's more to it than just that."

"She's just jealous every time I'm around Bonnie."

"She thinks there's something going on, I may have confirmed that."

"What did you say?"

"You know that time you two kissed on the island, I told her about that."

"And how do you know about that?"

"No denying? Hmmm, odd-"

"Katherine." Damon warned.

"I saw everything that happened. It was romantic, all the stuff you said to her, making her feeling special- oh and the kiss… oh, that was something… that was truly beautiful. Anyway, I kept it a secret for a long time until now."

"Do you know how long it took me to convince her nothing happened with Bonnie?"

"Well, you two are even, she loves your brother and you love her best friend. All you did was kiss Bonnie, all she did was fuck Stefan-"

"Not behind my back."

"She thinks about it though, you can tell. It will always be her and Stefan, you can't deny it." Katherine said knowing it will annoy Damon.

"Go back to sleep." Damon compelled

"I don't think I want to do that." Katherine replied. "I've had enough sleep, don't you think?"

"How are you doing this?"

"Tip one, don't keep a vervain necklace in the back your car if you wanna compel me, 'cause I'll always find it." Katherine took the vervain necklace out of her pocket and swung it in front of him.
