Chris, Wesker, Ken, and Jill leveled their guns at the monster who had attacked them, letting loose a volley of deadly fire. It staggered in pain away from them, but as they reloaded their guns, it let loose a burst of speed and whacked Chris in the stomach, flinging him off of the edge of the platform along with another large rock. "Chris!" Sonic vanished in a flash of green light and re-appeared with Chris by his side. "That does it, CEASE FIRE! I've got this." His eyes blazed green as he slammed into the deformed monster, smacking into the wall and darting back effortlessly, another stone falling with the monster that used to be Lisa Trevor. As they reloaded and regrouped, Chris examined the only thing barring their passage. "Well, looks like it needs a digital key of some sort. It might be in that sarcophagus... Jill, Sonic, let's push those last three stones off the platform." They complied, but after spindashing his stone off Sonic crossed his arms and asked "Okay, what makes you think this'll work?" as the sarcophagus lid slid open. Chris grinned and picked up the key-card "That does" He inserted it and the doors slid open to reveal an elevator. Wesker sighed and reloaded his pistol. "Guess we should pile in" *Cue elevator music* A ding sounded out as the doors opened to reveal that they were back on the surface. Leading the way, Chris commented "You know, it's nice to have elevator music out in the middle of nowhere" STARS and Sonic made their way along the pathway to a door that was welded shut, to their immediate right was a pool with two animal shaped inlays on it on opposite sides. Letting out a raspy sigh, Jill put her hand to her forehead "Well that was a waste of time." Ken shook his head "No, wait. These look like the ones on the doors behind the stairs." Wesker knelt beside the other inlay to examine it "Huh, you're right. We probably need to back-track and search the mansion..." he trailed off as he stood up, his sunglasses staying behind. "Dammit" he knelt down to pull them off the magnetized inlay. "Magnetized switches... We might be able to trigger them with a magnet, anyone got one?" Sonic zipped over and perched on the edge of the pool. "I've got a magnet-shield" Chris tapped a button on his watch and was enveloped with a sparkling silver shield, and everyone had to cling onto their metal items "So do I, Tails helped me make it a few years ago" Sonic concentrated, and then was enveloped with a similar sparkling shield. "Who's Tails?" At that moment, both switches clicked and the water began to drain from the reflecting pool, revealing a staircase and elevator. Part of the rim surrounding the pool retracted to allow access to the dripping staircase. Chris flipped off his shield "Yellow fox, brilliant engineer, and genius scientist" Wesker leaned on the edge of the rim "I really wanna punch whoever designed this place." The staircase didn't have a railing.

After piling into the elevator and putting up with more elevator music, the members of STARS and Sonic The Hedgehog found themselves in a room with a heavily barred door and a ladder leading down.

""Warning, helipad beyond. Unauthorized personnel will be shot.' Well, that's a helluva way to say 'No trespassing' I hope they've got a chopper I can fly out there" Chris said impatiently. Wesker looked down the ladder to the left of the door "Let's check out what's down there before we leave, we don't want to have anyone left behind if we can help it" One by one, they descended the ladder. The room they descended into contained a typewriter and a rather large box. Jill sighed with contempt "Okay, seriously. What's up with all the typewriters?" Wesker ran his hand over the keyboard "Umbrella policy is that all records be kept on a physical medium, absolutely nothing is digital for Umbrella. Everything had to be stored on paper and film. As such, they kept a lot of typewriters around" Chris shook his head "So they spend more on paper and film every year than most companies do on hard-discs" Wesker laughed "Hey, at least they're not encrypted. Hopefully they've got a library around here we can raid for hard evidence" Through the door they found a table with a large container of kerosene underneath it. On the table was what looked like a DVD in a protective plastic case, similar to a diskette. After rounding the corner, they found...

"More zombies..."

And a blur of blue later "You mean there USED to be more! And now to check out what's behind that door over there" Sonic spun right through the titanium door, leaving a rather large hole in it. Covering the stairway, the members of STARS followed him through the now open door, which swung on its hinges after Sonic's spindash damaged the electronic locking mechanism. Through the door, a slide projector shone brightly on the wall, the Umbrella logo displayed over a string of text reading "Bio-Weapon Official Report" Sonic hopped up onto the table "You guys can come in now, the room's empty." As they followed him cautiously, a giant spider hopped down from the ceiling and landed behind Kenneth. With lightening precision, Chris whirled around and fired two shots from his shotgun point-blank, killing the spider stone cold dead. "Serves you right for sneaking up on us" he said as he slung the shotgun over his shoulder. Wesker patted him on the shoulder "Best shot in the United States Air Force, if not the entire US Armed Forces. Remember that next time you're doubting yourself." He turned away and leaned on the table beside Sonic "Now what do we have here..." He advanced the slides by one. A picture of a skeletal doberman appeared on the screen along with more text, reading: "MA-39 Cerberus... That's what attacked us outside the mansion" Jill noted, looking at the gruesome images pensively. One more slide advanced, and what appeared to be a shark came onto the screen, identified as Fi-3 Neptune. The next slide showed a green creature with giant teeth and claws, titled MA-121 HUNTER. The next slide was something vaguely humanoid, but with a giant claw of metal on one arm. It was labeled T-002 Tyrant. "I don't wanna know what they did to make that guy" Wesker said, curling his upper lip in disgust "Come to think of it, I'd rather remain ignorant to how they made the rest of them too" Ken laughed nervously "I second that one Captain" The slides advanced some more, showing a blank slide. And they advanced again. A picture of five people, with the text "Bio-weapon program R&D staff" most of the faces and accompanying names were unfamiliar, but the one on the far right was of a blonde man than all the members of STARS recognized. His description read: "James Wesker: consultant researcher, head of security."
