Chapter 32

With the Wonder Trade done, Ash and Alice manage to trade Four Tauros for a Kangaskhan, a Raticate, a Dodrio, and a Farfetch'd. Although much to their surprise, the Kangaskhan turns out to be an old friend of Pikachu, who stayed with her mother for a short while.

Fearow is still having a little hard time trusting Ash and Alice, and it takes Ash and Alice several injuries to finally have him open up to them. It turns out that Fearow used to have a trainer, but he abandoned him because he is weak. And after a few days, Ash threw the stone at him. That's why he's angry with Ash. Ash offers him a chance to either stay back in the wild or join his training team, and he decides to give Ash another chance.

And when they were walking in an alleyway at Saffron City, they hear a voice, "Is that you, twerp?"

They turn to see a Meowth walking towards them. Ash's blood boils as it is no other than Team Rocket's Meowth. He asks, "You're Meowth... what are you doing here?"

Pikachu is about to shock the cat, and he panics, "Wait, I'm not going to fight you. Team Rocket is already no more!"

Ash says, "Where are the other two? Are they anywhere plotting to steal my Pikachu again?"

"Those two were dead. Our former boss killed them." Meowth says with tears in his eyes.

"Wait, what?" Ash asks. "They're dead?"

Meowth then explains to them how Team Rocket created an ultimate weapon that controls the world, and he has no use for them anymore. Meowth was saved by their former Team Rocket assassin named Aurora, and he was left in the wilderness wandering for two years.

"I'm sorry to hear that..." Alice frowns, "So what are you going to do now?"

"I was too weak, I couldn't protect Jessie and James. That's why I want to join your team, so I can become stronger."

Ash nods as he agrees to have Meowth join the team, although he is joining the team, Alice still wants to have a Persian, and knowing Meowth can't evolve into one because of the Gigantamax Factor, so they capture another Meowth and train it.

They also find a Shiny Ditto on Route 12, so they capture it because Ditto wants to make friends with all of the Pokemon. And at Fuchsia City, they notice the International Police staying there, including their mother Delia.

"Mom? What is going on?" Ash asks, and Delia notices Ash and Alice.

"Oh, Ash and Alice." Delia says, but also noticed the Meowth on his shoulder. "Is that Team Rocket's Meowth?"

"Yeah, it turns out that he was abandoned by Team Rocket and he joined our team." Ash says. "What's going on here?"

Delia says, "It's nothing that you should worry about. We found a mad scientist doing experiments on two Eevees. Experimenting Pokemon is illegal, so we've come to arrest him."

"That's horrible..." Alice gasps. "How are the Eevees?"

"They are either dead or traumatized. Some of them can't even evolve anymore because of the experiment." Delia sighs.

Ash feels sorry for the Eevees and asks, "Can we take care of the Eevees?"

Delia asks, "All of them? I don't think it will be a good idea. There are a lot of Eevee."

Alice says, "Then we take two of them. And we'll let Team Plasma handle the rest."

Delia nods as she gives Ash and Alice the two Eevee who seem to be comfortable with them. And much to their surprise, the Eevee are having a lot of unique moves that they haven't seen before.

"Bouncy Bubble? Glitzy Glow? Sparkly Swirl? What are those moves?" Ash gasps.

"And that's one type for each of the Eeveelutions. Although there are still a lot of Normal Type moves..." Alice says.

Delia has the International Police retreat, and Meowth says, "Now I recognize the voice! Are you Aurora? The one who saved me?"

Delia flinches after hearing what Meowth said, and Ash asks, "Mom? You worked with Team Rocket before?"

Delia frowns and says, "Before I met your father, I used to be an assassin working for Team Rocket. It's not one of my best moments."

Now Ash and Alice can't believe what they've heard, and Delia says, "It is all in the past, I'll tell you everything once we head back to Sevestar."

Ash can only nod before Delia leaves. Ash says, "I can't believe it... Mom used to work with Team Rocket? But now she's the head of the International Police...I don't know if I could trust her..."

Alice says, "Now that I think about it... when Ms. Ketchum was taking the Aura Test, the first scene was the kidnap... those dark figures were Team Rocket members."

Ash says, "Yeah... I didn't think that much about it because the second one was the jealousy of Dad and Ms. Valerie, and then the final one is my dad and sisters' death. I think we really need to ask her."

Then on the road, they also stop by Neon Town, and they also find the Wigglytuff that likes to sing. Ash is surprised that he evolved, but he quickly uses Throat Chop so that it can't make them sleep and doodle on their faces. Wigglytuff is now crying as all she wants is someone to hear her singing, but every time people sleeps because of it. Ash and Alice take some time to explain how the move Sing works, and Wigglytuff eventually decides to join them.

At the Seafoam Islands, Ash and Alice capture a Jynx while trying to find Articuno. Articuno gives them the customized Pokeball as it is willing to join their team, and once they're done, they just leave and head to Johto for the meeting in Goldenrod.

Articuno: Ability: Snow Cloak. Moves: Mind Reader, Blizzard, Sheer Cold, Hurricane, Roost, Reflect

In Johto, Ash also receives three more trades from Tauros, and there is a Furret, a Smeargle, and a Miltank. Then after helping Nurse Joy, they also receive a Chansey and evolve it into Blissey with happiness. And at the Ice Path, they also capture a Delibird for the team.

When Chloe and Goh gather everyone at the Cerise Lab, they inform the others about the news of Ash's wife. The information causes Serena and Lillie to break down in tears.

"Are you serious about this? You mean Ash is married?" Brock asks.

"According to him, they only sign the paper marriage. They haven't done the wedding just yet." Goh says.

Just then, they hear from the TV that a news reporter is interviewing Ash, and Alice is by her side. Chloe says, "That's the girl, she is Ash's wife."

The boys are charmed at the beauty of Alice, while the girls have to admit that Alice looks beautiful and they are a little sad that Ash chooses her.

"It sure is surprising to hear that you two are already a couple. May I ask how did it happen in the first place?" The reporter asks.

Ash says, "I'm sure you all heard about the incident of Team Rocket. They manage to create a massive mind control on the whole world just to get rid of me. I was suffering from assaults and verbal abuse from the whole world because of them. Just as I think I have no one, her family came to my aid. They are not affected by the control and were willing to help me stop Team Rocket's attack. Alice here is the Ice Type Trainer who used the Articuno back in the day."

This causes everyone to widen their eyes, and Alice seems to be uncomfortable. The reporter says, "So she was the mysterious person who killed the boss of Team Rocket, Giovanni?"

"No, she didn't kill him. I did." Ash says. "As I said, Team Rocket used massive control on the whole world. The only way to stop the control is by killing him directly. I have Legendary Pokemon by my side when we raided the base, and just as Giovanni was about to shoot me, I have Hoopa use Hyperspace Hole on the bullet and caused it to appear behind him and that's why he was killed."

And Ash shows Hoopa to prove that he was right. Then the reporter says, "I see. So after that day, the two of you have been dating?"

"Yes, but like any kind of marriage, I need my parents and Alice's parents' approval. Fortunately, both of Alice's parents are Gym Leaders in the Kalos Region, and along with my mother, they approved our marriage. Although we only just sign the paper and haven't got an actual wedding yet. But we promised each other that we're going to do it once we're ready."

Ash's former travel companions turn off the TV, and they decide to process what they've heard. "So this Alice person wasn't controlled by Team Rocket at that time... and she helped Ash kill Giovanni to save us..." Cilan summarized.

"The question is how we're controlled in the first place? And why was she and her family immune to it?" Misty says.

Bonnie turns to Serena and Lillie. She says, "Are you two okay? You two don't seem very well..."

Serena says, "We're fine... after learning what we've done during that day... we knew this might happen..."

Lillie says, "A few days later, I'm going to challenge Ash for the Alola Champion Title. I am going to ask more about her."

"The others nod as they prepare to head to Alola.
