Chapter 39
Thanks to Mark, Ash and Alice learn how to manage the resort. They are surprised at how big the resort is, and they also like how the rooms are set and how the facilities work. To them, it looks like a paradise. The bad comments of the resort are actually because of the owners.
After they make the resort back again, Ash and the group named it FS Resort, and Mark loves what the name implies and he thanks the group for it. Back on Sevestar Island, Mark is offered to become the Elite Four member of the Sevestar by Ash and Alice. His team consists of Hariyama, Machamp, Koraidon, Lucario, Hitmontop, and Kommo-o.
In Hoenn, they also capture a Makuhita close to the cave and then head to Mt. Pyre to capture a Meditite. They also find a Mega Stone for Medicham on their way and they give it to Meditite. And Lucario is also helping them train so that they evolve into their final forms.
Hariyama: Ability: Guts. Moves: Smelling Salts, Arm Thrust, Force Palm, Reversal, Headlong Rush, Heavy Slam
Medicham: Ability: Pure Power. Moves: Recover, Thunder Punch, Axe Kick, Counter, Reversal, Power Trick
Lucario: Ability: Inner Focus/Adaptability (Mega). Moves: Extreme Speed, Life Dew, Aura Sphere, Power-Up Punch, Bullet Punch, Meteor Mash
Arceus also gives Ash an egg which also contains one of Ash's old companions in the Hisui Region. And once it hatches, Alice finally knows what the Pokemon is: A Sneasel.
"A purple Sneasel? That sure is surprising." Alice says.
"This guy has been an old friend of mine." Ash says while picking up the Sneasel. "Once it evolves, it is good at climbing walls. It is thanks to her that I was able to climb Mt. Coronet in the past."
"Oh yeah. Mt. Coronet wasn't that developed in the past, so it will be hard for you to reach to the top." Mark says.
Then he gives Sneasel the Razor Claw, and thus evolving it into a Sneasler. Sneasler is also good friends with Weavile as the two of them often compete with each other.
Sneasler: Ability: Poison Touch. Moves: Screech, Brick Break, Close Combat, Rock Smash, Dire Claw, Agility
"So about the Unova League, what is your plan?" Alice asks while they're looking at the map. Ash says, "I'm going to challenge Aspertia City Gym first. It is a Normal Type Gym and the Fighting Types that I have right now will be able to help me."
Then with Nate and Rosa's help, they manage to find Cheren, the Gym Leader. Cheren uses Unfezant, Watchog, and Stoutland to battle Ash, but Ash just uses Lucario to earn his victory and the Basic Badge, which he inherited from Lenora, the Nacrene City Gym Leader.
And after the Aspertia City Gym, the next gym is Virbank City, the gym that Ash faced last the last time he challenges the Unova League. Roxie offers to do the same request as last time, but this time Ash refuses and asks for a three-on-three. Roxie knows that Ash is now the World Champion, and probably stronger since the last time, so she doesn't hold back and uses Weezing, Scolipede, and Garbodor to battle. But Ash goes for old Pokemon and with Mega Camerupt itself, he emerges victorious, getting the Toxic Badge in the end.
Alice says, "Hey, Ash... I want to ask, you used to have the badges, why didn't you just give them the old one and register instead of taking a new badge?"
Ash says, "If only they were still there, I would have used them. According to my Mom, my Pokemon destroyed all of my badges in the past. Alola doesn't have badges, and the badges from Paldea is with me at that time, so they were the only ones I have right now. As for the trophies, they can't destroy them, so my Alola Champion, World Champion, Orange Champion, and Paldea Champion Trophy are still there."
"I see... that's why you didn't ask for a rechallenge of Alola and Paldea...since you already have proof that you beat the League." Alice says.
"There are already a lot of Champions in Paldea, so it doesn't matter if I challenge that League or not." Ash says. "And for Alola, the entry conditions are Z Crystals, and I got all of them thanks to Tapus."
"I see." Alice says.
Before going to challenge the Castelia City Gym, Ash and Alice head to Pinwheel Forest to capture three Pokemon. A Timburr, a Throh, and a Sawk. They also train the Timburr and evolve it into a Conkeldurr in the end.
And they also head to Dragonspiral Tower to capture another new Fighting Type Pokemon: A Mienfoo. And it takes them a lot of time to evolve it because it evolves at Level 50. But they are also happy because the Mienfoo that they capture is a Shiny Pokemon.
Once they capture all the new Fighting Types, they challenge Burgh, the Gym Leader. This time Burgh goes for Crustle, Escavalier, Accelgor, and Leavanny to battle him, but Ash uses Charizard to defeat all four of them with ease, having the Insect Badge. Then they decide to take a small break before challenging the rest of the gyms.
Conkeldurr: Ability: Iron Fist. Moves: Scary Face, Focus Punch, Hammer Arm, Superpower, Stone Edge, Brutal Swing
Throh: Ability: Guts. Moves: Endure, Mat Block, Storm Throw, Vital Throw, Wide Guard, Knock Off
Sawk: Ability: Mold Breaker. Moves: Endure, Karate Chop, Quick Guard, Rock Smash, Dual Chop, Knock Off
Mienshao (Shiny): Ability: Reckless. Moves: Aura Sphere, Drain Punch, High Jump Kick, Bounce, U-turn, Hone Claws
In the Alola Region, Ash decides to help Mark get a Z Crystal. So they visit Hala in Iki Town. Ash also informs Hala about Mark's story and how their family adopted him. Hala says, "I see. I'm glad you've done the right thing. Mark, I'll give you the Z Ring. However, to get the Fightium Z, you will have to beat me in a battle. And like your brother here, you will need to finish a Trial first before reaching me."
Mark says, "So what should I do to finish a Trial?"
Hala says, "This is the question that I gave your brother, he knows the answer, but I wish that you answer this on your own this time. As you can see, we have a lot of Alolan Rattata and Raticate that are stealing food from vendors. What will you do to drive them out?"
Ash says, "Mr. Hala, can I give my brother a hint?"
Hala nods, and Ash says, "Mark, the Island challenges are formed not to make trainers stronger, but to raise them in a way to protect and love the islands of Alola as well as the people and Pokémon who inhabit them. You might be a Fighting Type specialist and Rattata and Raticate on the island are Dark and Normal Type, but you'll need to answer without battling."
Mark says, "That helps a lot. I was about to answer that I should battle them... So no battling... Mr. Hala, can I ask questions instead? I mean, not from my brother but you?"
Hala says, "Very well, what is your question?"
"About the question that you ask me. Rattata and Raticate must have some sort of natural enemies, right? Have you tried asking them for help?"
Ash and Hala are surprised, and Hala laughs, "Very nice. Your answer is just the same as Ash. Now please follow me."
While Ash is accompanying Mark to challenge the trials, Alice on the other hand is capturing Fighting Type Pokemon in the Alola Region. With Pikachu by her side, they manage to stop a Crabrawler from taking the berries from the berry vendor and capturing it, also using the Ice Stone to evolve it.
Then she heads to Akala Island, capturing a Passimian residing there with help from Oranguru. And after that's done, they head back to Iki Town and find that Mark finishes his battle against Hala, earning the Fightinum Z.
"So how did it go?" Alice asks.
"Mark gets both the Fightium Z and the Normalium Z." Ash says. "I assume you already captured the Crabominable and the Passimian?"
"Both of them are here." Alice shows the two Pokemon.
Crabominable: Ability: Anger Point. Moves: Bubble, Ice Hammer, Ice Punch, Close Combat, Dynamic Punch, Iron Defense
Passimian: Ability: Receiver. Moves: Double-Edge, Giga Impact, Grass Knot, Close Combat, Reversal, Fling
Then they bid farewell to Hala as they return, but before they return, Ash and Alice decide to head to Mt. Tensei in the Kanto Region first.
Ash says, "This is a place where I battled Ho-Oh in the past. And we got the same Ho-Oh back at the Burned Tower."
"I have him with me right now, do you want to send it out?" Alice says.
"Sure." Ash says.
Alice sends out the Ho-Oh, who is happy to be back at the mountain. And much to their surprise, a Marshadow appears from Ash's shadow. Ash says, "Well, looks what we have here. This is Marshadow. He is said to be a guide from the shadows who leads those chosen by Ho-Oh to be the Rainbow Hero. If the Rainbow Wing given to the chosen person loses its color, Marshadow is tasked with sealing the Rainbow Wing away."
With Ho-Oh and Marshadow conversing, Marshadow eventually gives Ash not only the customized Poke Ball but also a Z Crystal. Alice says, "Marshadow has a custom Z move?"
"I don't know, but it seems like he has." Ash says, and Marshadow just goes into the shadow again. Ho-Oh says, "This move makes Marshadow's Spectral Thief into Soul Stealing 7-star Strike."
"That sounds like a powerful move." Ash nods.
And since they're in the Kanto Region, they decide to capture a Machop at Rock Tunnel, and then battle the Fighting Dojo Master for 3 Tyrogues.
"It seems that this one's Attack is higher than Defense, so it will evolve into Hitmonlee. This one has a higher Defense than Attack, so it will be Hitmonchan. And this final one... looks like we need to give him some Energy Drinks to have it evolve into Hitmontop."
"That sounds really tiring..." Alice says.
"I know, but we can do it." Ash says as they train up the four Pokemon, eventually evolving all of them to their final forms. Ash also makes some Max Soup for the newly evolved Machamp, so it will be able to Gigantamax.
Machamp: Ability: No Guard. Moves: Strength, Cross Chop, Dynamic Punch, Seismic Toss, Wide Guard, Dual Chop
Hitmonlee: Ability: Unburden. Moves: Mega Kick, Blaze Kick, Brick Break, High Jump Kick, Reversal, Wide Guard
Hitmonchan: Ability: Iron Fist. Moves: Comet Punch, Drain Punch, Focus Punch, Vacuum Wave, Agility, Bullet Punch
Hitmontop: Ability: Steadfast. Moves: Endeavor, Close Combat, Rolling Kick, Triple Kick, Dig, Wide Guard
Once they are back on the island, Ash and Alice decide to try staying at the newly built FS Resort instead of their own castle. Since they are the owners Kim and Felix, they are provided a special suite for them to use.
"Well, it is only us in the resort after all. Mark is busy back at the Hoenn Region." Ash says.
"But I'm glad that he has a lot of staff members helping him out." Alice says. "That way he will have more time to come to Sevestar Island and train with us."
Ash nods before they decide to sleep in the master bedroom of the resort room.
Here is a new chapter, and there are only a few Fighting Type Pokemon left for Ash and Alice. I hope you like this chapter and the next one is going to be Mark and Serena's part.
