Sierra PoV

Star frantically weeps on my shoulder, incoherently justifying her injudicious choice consisting of Michael's use whilst the short heel on my shoe firmly rests on the accelerator. She feels nothing but guilt for what happened. After analysing my own emotions, I can see now the desperate pleas behind the act. Laddie whoops cheerfully in the background, his hands outstretched like his only ambition is to reach for the sky, a new liberty outside of this curse. It makes me so happy to see him in pleasant spirits, even if it is just for a moment in time during this journey to aid Michael. As we near Hudson's Bluff, I decrease the speed due to Laddie commenting on how he feels nauseous, but continue to keep a haste pace.

"Please don't tell me they're going to make his first kill happen tonight, Sierra? Oh, please tell me!" Star implores, her tears never relenting to cascade onto my shoulder. Suddenly, her head snaps up, noticing the drop in speed. "We need to get there now!" Star screeches, attempting to take hold of the wheel with me protesting for her to cease being so foolish as her brash actions could get us involved in an unwanted accident.

"Star, let go!" I yell, endeavouring to say it in a tone that won't alarm Laddie or upset him. "You're going to get us killed!" Her grip is strong, stronger than what she allows herself to be emotionally. It surprises me in a way; I hadn't expected a powerful side to her. Quickly and cunningly, she pillages the wheel from me and all the control over it, swerving the car so it misses the stone wall of the cave, reversing frantically as I seize the dictatorship over the car once again. "What the hell are you doing? Do you want to get us killed?"

"He needs our help, Sierra!" Star screams, never relenting to stop the wish to commandeer my father's car. "Before its too late!"

"I know, Star, but we can still get there in ti– " Before I can even finish my sentence, I try to pound on the brakes as Laddie screams, instigating a terrified scream from all of us. Star attempts to reverse, causing a war between our hands in order for me to save us, her foot on the accelerator still. "Star, what the fuck are you doing? Give it to me!"

"No!" Star shrieks, and until I acknowledge the car has zoomed into the cave on Star's behalf, we crash into the elderly jukebox, a thunderous crash echoing throughout the area.

All of us scream in terror and distress. Because of Star's idiotic yet crucial deed, we could have been killed or severely injured if it wasn't for me stepping onto the breaks to ease the collision a little. After the initial fright concludes but still lingers, we pant out of the shock invading. I twist around to view a startled Laddie. If Star could only feel the wrath of my anger currently, she could have harmed Laddie.

"Laddie, sweetheart, are you alright?" I question, my hands manoeuvring over his face to examine for wounds.

"That. Was awesome!" Laddie gasps, breathless from the adrenaline rush. From a glimpse into Star's thoughts, an uncontrolled trait from the vampire side of me, she is surprised that I have kindness replacing the stubborn and tough side she had seen earlier. I can only glare at her for that dense exploit, risking all of our lives and health. I know her objective was to help Michael, but we could have gotten here in with a slower velocity.

"You could have hurt him" I growl, furious at what she has done. Then, I realise something. Glancing around the wrecked car, my heart evaporates into a sinister air. "Oh my God! What the hell is this? You've crashed Jan's car! It looks like - oh my God! No way! Shit, shit, shit!" My clenched fist hits the side of the leather steering wheel. Just my luck, with a bang, the glass shatters into a million serrated fragments. I squeak, believing I could gladly weep at any moment. "Oh sweet Jesus, no"

In spite of how much trouble I will be in, my main concern is Laddie, and as I realise we are in the cave, it is also Michael who I have only just perceived. I don't know what he is doing but he is with David and the others, I open my mouth to speak but I cannot express any. My grip tightens around Laddie though in a way of protection, a shield from David and the danger he can inflict upon the innocent child snuggled into my shoulder at this precise moment. I attempt to smile at Michael, but it wavers. The final time I saw him, I was beyond enraged and granted my weaker side to reveal itself to him. I don't know why I allowed it to. I basically commanded him never to come near me again for his own benefit, and yet here I am, in his presence again.

I say nothing, most likely the wisest choice presently and persist composing an overjoyed Laddie, my eyes only flickering upwards to view Michael mere times. Star moves to release herself from the car, but I tow her back with force. After all, she has done enough damage for tonight – especially to this damn car.

Mike PoV

There is a screeching of tires and screaming coming our way. I am already hesitant, this sound of a car screeching towards the cave causes me to completely forget what I am doing to try and look what was going on outside.

"Holy shit!" I hear Marko scream out, him and Paul diving out of the cave's entrance one way, Dwayne jumping the other as a car comes barrelling through. Smashing, scraping its way, forcing itself through the narrow opening to plough into a rundown jukebox. If it played before, it sure as hell won't now.

"Damn, man! What the hell? Fucking crazy!" Paul has this annoyed look on his face as he arises from the dust, dusting himself off.

"What the hell is going on here?" David roars out. Pissed is an understatement, he looks ready to explode from rage and had dropped his human guise.

"Oh God." I croak out, seeing the vampires provoked and changed.

"Fucking nut ball came bouncing down the cliff along the stairs, she's lost it." Dwayne snarls out, staring in Star's direction.

"Guess we know who Mike will be killing then." Marko is grinning, also looking in Star's direction with his hand over his menacing mouth.

"Guess so... Michael?" David looks human now, but seeing behind his fake facade was enough that I start backing away. "Oh, don't change your mind, Michael. You don't just want to leave things up to chance, or for Sierra to die, do you?" He again outstretches his hand out for me, that baleful looking smirk back across that human face that was a lie. "Grab her." I jump as Dwayne Marko and Paul are in the car grabbing for Star with Sierra protesting in response and Laddie wailing, and trying to drag her out.

"No! Leave her alone! Don't! Leave them both alone!" I can't just watch them kill Sierra and Star, nor will I make Star my kill.

"Boys." With a single word, they suddenly back off and linger, watching Star and Sierra, Laddie looked both confused and scared. "I can include Star in the deal if you don't want her hurt, even though the only reason she wants anything to do with you is to get her out of this. I'm being very generous, Michael. I already told you what the cost is, and unfortunately, your friend has just cut you out of being allowed any time, Michael, 'cause I can't fake out Max now. He'll know she was here again. I don't do anything he will. So what will it be?" David motions his hand towards me.

I acknowledge what he means - David will kill Sierra if I don't and from what Sierra said last night, whether David wants to or not, he'd have to, because Max wants her death. I'm not stupid enough to think he actually cares.
He's made it obvious his only interest is me; but can I truly risk saying no? Even if he did nothing, Max will. My whole family is endangered, I don't doubt that. Not after what my brother did. I also don't want to find out what David would do if he didn't get his way. I'm sure it would be far from nice as he currently is acting and he would most likely slaughter both Sierra and Star right here in front of me. Oh God, as much as I'm angry at Star, I just can't have her slaughtered. With a grimace, I reach out and take his hand.

"Ye-yes." I think I'm going to be sick. My stomach recklessly churns. The other three boys cheer and hoot when I agree to Davids deal. Oh God...

"Wise decision you've made." David lets out a chuckle that has all the comforts of a chilly grave.
