Chapter 19

Lauren's p.o.v

It has been 3 weeks since my dad came round to warn us about getting involved in Derek's business and i have to admit I'm still pretty shocked that he went to my dad especially with how dangerous he thinks he is you would think he wouldn't get his little brother to fight his battles for him. Anyway since that day we haven't even seen Derek and Joey thankfully has stuck to his promise and stayed away from him.

"Boo"Joey whispered in my ear making me jump as i was getting dressed this morning.

"Please don't do that" i said as my hand flew to my chest.

"Sorry babe. So what are you up to today" he asked as i turned to face him.

"Well i was thinking we could go into town i was going to do some Christmas shopping today" i said smiling hopefully cause me and Joey really haven't been able to spend much time together lately with both of us being on different shifts the past couple of weeks and i have been so busy at collage.

"Sorry babe i can't today i promised Alice we could do something today why don't we hang out tomorrow" he said.

"Cant i have collage then work today was really the only day this week we can spend together but you have already made plans with Alice so..." i said going to leave the room but Joey grabbed my arm gently before i managed to leave.

"I'm sorry we will find time to spend together soon i promise why don't we go out somewhere tonight" he suggested.

"No its fine just forget it . I'm going to go now ill see you whenever i guess" i said feeling really disappointed that we are not spending the day together.

"Lauren" he shouted sighing as i ran out the door and slammed it shut behind me.

End of Lauren's p.o.v

Joey's p.o.v

I sighed loudly as she slammed the door. I feel really bad now i could see how much she wanted to spend time with me and it makes me feel worse that i lied to her i know i shouldn't have but i couldn't tell her the truth especially when i promised her i would stay out of it. But i have to get him out of our lives forever.

"Hey Al if Lo asks can you tell her i was with you today please" i said as i walked into the kitchen seeing her raise her eyebrows at me as i said this.

"Why" she said "If your cheating on her Joe then please don't use me as your excuse Lauren is a good person. If you don't love her tell her it will hurt her more this way"she rambled.

"Al... Alice " i shouted making her stop. "I'm not cheating on her I'm just doing something that she wouldn't necessarily like but trust me Al this needs to be done" i said.

"Well what are you up to then cause i can't think of anything Lauren wouldn't want you doing" she asked.

"Look it doesn't matter i need to go now ill see you later okay" i said heading out of the door to look for Derek but i didn't need to look far cause he ended up being in the cafe eating.

"Mind if i sit here" i said plastering a fake smile on my face.

"And why would you want to do that you hate me remember" Derek said looking rather shocked and quite suspicious.

"I don't hate you i was just mad that's all" i lied.

"Really and what about you cousin you know the one your sleeping with " he inquired with a disgusted look on his face.

I swallowed knowing what i was about to say even though its a lie is going to hurt me and Lo if she ever finds out i have said it.

"What about her you were right its disgusting it was just something to do when I'm board. She means nothing to me" i said hating myself more with every word.

"So what was all that stuff about you loving her. Was that so you could get what you wanted from her " he questioned looking quite amused.

"Obviously. Look we are having a dinner tonight and Max is going to be there so you may as well come too.I'm sure Alice we love to see you" i asked.

"I don't know I'm pretty sure your up to something but if it means seeing my baby girl ill be there " he said.

"Good ill see you later... Dad" i said forcing myself to say dad.

His face lit up as i said that and i decided now was a good time to leave. So i said goodbye and walked out of the cafe hiding by Lucy's house and waiting for him to come out which he did only a few minutes i followed him at a safe distance when he started walking. And when he did finally stop he was outside this abandoned warehouse about half an hour away from the square. He waited a while before three other guys showed up and they all walked in there together. Me deciding to peep through the little whole in the door that was left when they didn't shut it properly when i knew they were far enough away from it for me not to be seen.

And at first what i saw didn't really surprise me. One guy pulled ut a package which I'm guessing has drugs in it but then one of the other guys pulled out a gun and that i definitely wasn't expecting. Yer i thought Derek was a thug but i never thought he would be stupid enough to mess with guns but i guess i was wrong cause the guy passed Derek the gun and Derek passed him a package which I'm guessing has money in it cause they all went their separate ways after that. And all of a sudden i wasn't sure that my plan was such a good idea.

"Lauren you home" i shouted as i walked through the door of number 5. Getting no response i assumed no one else was in until i walked into the kitchen and saw Lauren asleep at the table.

"Hey baby why are you asleep ay" i said moving some hair out of her face to see she had been crying just as she was starting to wake up and she jumped away from me as she did.

"Your back then" she snapped.

"What's the matter babe i can see you have been crying" i said trying to move closer to her but she moved back as i did.

"Makes you feel good does it" she questioned confusing me.

"Of course not you know i hate it when you cry i have told you before so why would you think it makes me feel good now ay" i questioned.

"You lied to me you weren't with Alice cause she was here when i got back and she looked really guilty when i asked her were you were"she said me closing my eye as she did."So come on Joey who is she. Is she better looking then me do you love her like you clearly don't love me"she questioned.

"What no Lo there is no other girl i love you more the anything. No one will ever compare to you" i said finally pulling her closer and crashing our lips together.

"So why then why did you lie to me you have no reason too unless" she trailed off as she pushed me away."Joey please don't tell me you have been snooping around trying to find out what Derek's up to again" she exclaimed sighing.

"I had to you know hes going to make our lives hell otherwise unless i some how find away to get him sent away and the only way i can see that happening is find out everything and then take it to the police" i said.

"You promised me you would stay out of it for your own safety. You heard what my dad said we could end up getting hurt and you know how scared i am of losing you" she said.

"I know baby but as i have said you are never going to lose me and i will never let anything happen to you" i said.

"That's not the point Joe you promised me and you broke that promise so how am i supposed to trust another work that you say" she said before pushing past me and running out of the room.

"Lauren please wait" i shouted following her.

"What Joey. Huh what is your big plan to bring him down join in,in whatever he is up too" she questioned.

"No my plan is to get closer to him that way it makes it easier to bring him down. Oh and just so you know hes coming round for dinner tonight" i said whispering the last part.

"I'm sorry what" she shouted."Are you crazy what do you think your mum is going to say. There is no way she will allow that and she is right not too. Please Joe for me just stay out of it " she pleaded.

"You know i can't baby I'm doing this for us"i said.

"Yourself more like maybe we shouldn't be together if you are willing to get hurt just to get the guy you hate out of your life cause i can't be with someone who would chose revenge over mine or his own safety not to mention the fact that he could end up hurting other people we love, just cause hes your dad doesn't mean we know what hes capable of" she said.

"Babe" i said but she just put her hand up to me before walking off.

End of Joey's p.o.v

Lauren's p.o.v

A couple of hours later...

I walked into the living room at dinner time to see my mum,dad and Emma not looking very happy and then Derek looked up at me with a smug look on his face and then my dad looked at me and he looked really uneasy and worried.

"You alright Lauren" Derek said.

"Why wouldn't i be and why are you looking at me like that" i questioned.

"Oh no reason and how are things between you and Joey by the way" he asked smirking.

"There grate why" i asked confused.

"I'm just showing an interest he is my son after all" he said.

"Yer one you have never bothered with and when you were around you treated really badly " i stated.

"Lauren can i have a word in the kitchen please" Joey said jumping up from his seat.

"Fine" i said before storming in the kitchen.

"Are you trying to mess this up" he hissed shutting the door too as he came into the kitchen.

"Maybe cause as i have said this is madness seriously Joe just.." i stopped talking as he got a glove out and put it on before he pulled out a gun from a bag on the side."please tell me your not planning on shooting him"i said after about 5 minutes of being totally baffled.

"Of course not i saw him buying this earlier"he said.

"Then what are you doing messing with him if you know he has bought a is wrong with you " i hissed.

"Well this could be the way we get rid of him " he said.

"Oh no no no no you are going to put that back right now and we forget we ever saw it" i said pointing to it.

"Yer but what if hes planning on shooting someone with it wouldn't you feel guilty if they ended up dying cause we put this back " he said.

"Maybe but that's a risk I'm willing to take if it means we are safe" i stated"Now put it back Joe and i promise i will help you find a way to get him out of our lives but this isn't it" i said him sighing heavily before nodding clearly reluctantly and putting it back.

A couple of days later...

"Hey babe " Joey said running into the kitchen clearly out of breath.

"what's up with you" i asked as i sat down with some cheese on toast.

"We are going to go away for a bit so why don't you go and pack a few bags " he said and i could see his hands we shacking as he put them on the table.

"What are you talking about Joey! Where are we going cause you never mentioned this before" i questioned.

"Just away i haven't really decided where yet we just need to get out of here" he insisted.

"What have you done"i asked automatically scared.

"Something that will mean bad guys will come after me and you cause they know about you and it can easily be traced back to me. So please baby we really need to go ill explain more when we are safe and out of the way" he said.

"But Joe what about everyone else" i said but he just kissed me softly.

"I love how caring you are but trust me the only person that is in any danger apart from me is you" he said.

"Okay how long do we have before we have to leave" i questioned.

"About 20 minutes i think we should leave before everyone is home from work and school"he said me nodding before running upstairs and starting to throw things into a suitcase.

About 2 hours later...

We are still driving at the moment and i still have no idea where we are going

"Joe do you have anywhere in mind or are we just going to drive all night " i said quite frustrated that i still didn't know what was going on.

"Yes there's a nice hotel not far from here that we can stay in for a few days and then we will decide what to do from there" he said.

"Okay... Look are we ever going to be able to go back" i asked.

"I'm not sure babe but as long as were together that's all that matters right" he questioned.

"Of course it is its just I'm going to miss everyone " i said as we pulled into the car park of a very sweet looking country hotel...

I'm so so sorry it has taken me so long to update i have just been so busy with my other stories that this one kind of just got forgotten about but I'm back now and i hope you like this chapter.

The way this chapter we kind of surprised me i was just watching an old episode of the bill when i was writing this and that where i got a few of the ideas from.
