New chapter, a hint of someone famous surviving in the world, and hopefully new favs. I don't own H.O.T.D or Naruto.

"Do what's next? Do we just hole up here or do we keep moving?" Takashi threw Naruto some water.

"I say we stay, gather supplies, help survivors, and lure the infected away from the house" Saeko chipped in her opinion.

"I'm of mind to agree with you, Sae-chan" Naruto sipped his water and cleaned his tanto while Rei scrounged in the refrigerator.

Colin lay on the couch nursing his women-inflicted wounds and sulked while Saya dabbed rubbing alcohol over a bobby-pin stab wound.

"We'll send out the first scouting party tonight if possible. We need to take some of our best people but leave enough for us to defend I case the infected show up. Our supplies are good for now, but more could never hurt" Sgt. Rose said, helping Kohta clean a rifle.

"We'll take Colin, Saeko, and myself while the rest of you gather what supplies are in the house and take inventory. If things turn bad, I'll send a signal from our end. If something goes bad on your end, get in the Humvee and whatever vehicles you can find and get the Hell out" Naruto stood and adjusted his tie.

All turned when they heard gunshots from outside. A man was running around with a double barreled shotgun and was killing the undead left and right…up until the point he dropped his shells and the undead tore into him like a pervert into a porn magazine.

"And try not to be that guy" Colin shook his head and left to get geared up for the search.

*40 Minutes Later

Naruto shushined onto the roof to take a look at the amount of the undead they'd be facing. Most were still crowded around the area where the bus exploded, so that left a few dozen to deal with in the surrounding blocks.

"Naruto! We're moving out!" Colin's voice called from the stairs.

He prepared himself and headed down and out the door, stepping under the street lamps. Colin and Saeko stayed close to him and the trio began to head towards the market districts.

"What exactly are we lookin' for, Naruto?" Colin asked.

"Water, non-perishable foods, things we can use without having to worry about them going stale or molding up. "

"Then we should hit the supermarket last."

"What? Why, Colin?" Saeko was confused; the market would be ripe with supplies.

"Think about it, we're not the only survivors. Someone else might be raiding it right as we speak and might not be as friendly as us."

"But we have Naruto-kun."

Colin was silent before grinning sheepishly," I sometimes forget how powerful he is."

"We'll swing by the pharmacy first, we've got decent amounts of food but not enough medicine" Naruto silenced the pair and allowed Saeko to lead them towards any nearby pharmacy.

They walked in silence for a solid fifteen minutes before a building came into view, a glowing cross sign buzzing lightly.

"Spread out, stay quiet, grab only what we need" Naruto shifted his pack off of his back.

Luckily for Naruto, Tsunade had given him some medical teachings on which medicines are the most affective at treating what.

Penicillin, Insulin, small amounts of Ether, a little Morphine, Aspirin. Naruto slid the boxes into his backpack and kept his ears open for any kind of scuffle.

He paused as he heard the door open slowly. Saeko and Colin were by his side instantly and the trio moved to identify the new visitor.

It was a man, maybe thirty, with short dark hair, tattoo sleeves, and a backwards hat over a bandana. In his arms was a woman with a large arm wound.

"Hello? Anyone? My wife's hurt!" the man was American, with his accent, but his Japanese was excellent.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Naruto made his presence known.

"I need bandages, a splint, and some gauze" the man's eyes pierced into Naruto's.

"Saeko, Colin. Get the man what he needs" Naruto looked at the pair.

Saeko nodded and went to the woman while Colin went to get the supplies.

The woman was luckily unconscious but seemed to be stable, for the moment.

"Thank you…I won't forget this" the man stroked his wife's face tenderly.

"No problem, Mr…" Colin fished for a name.

"Shadows…call me Shadows" the man assisted Saeko with bandaging.

"Shadows…why do you seem so familiar?" Colin scratched his chin.

"No reason, just one of those faces" Shadows adjusted the rifle on his back.

"Where are you from, Mr. Shadows?"

"Huntington Beach, California. I'm guessing you're from Ireland with the red hair, accent, and barely restrained anger" Shadows chuckled.

"You ever been to Ireland before?"

"Hehe a few times…though I don't remember much about the trips" Shadows laughed and smiled when he noticed his wife's bleeding had stopped.

"We've got we what we need. You're welcome to come with us, Shadows" Naruto zipped his pack and opened the door.

"Tempting offer, but I've got to make sure my family's alright. S is probably wondering what happened to me…if only Rev could have seen this" Shadows stepped out the door.

"Good luck to you both" Saeko gave them more bandages and gauze.

"We won't forget what you did for us. Remember…whenever you get the chance, seize the day" Shadows chambered a round and picked his wife up onto his shoulder in a fireman's carry and without another word, he left.

"What a cool son of a bitch" Colin watched him leave with a large grin.

"Colin, Saeko. We're moving to the markets, stick close" Naruto wasted no time in getting the rest of their search underway.

They slipped out of the door and onto the streets, the sounds of the bridge covering any noise they could have possibly made. All was silent until Colin's pocket started to vibrate.

"What is that?" Naruto asked as Colin extracted a silver-ish device from the confines of his pocket and cursed as he seemed to read something.

"You…don't know what a cell phone is?" Saeko cocked her head to the side.

"I have no clue what most of this shit is" Naruto huffed.

"How is that poss-"

"I hate to break up this friendly little interrogation but we've got a situation. There's a little girl a few blocks away from where we are, some other survivors killed her Da and now They are on their way towards her position" Colin turned to head back.

"Colin, we need to get these supplies!" Saeko gripped his shoulder.

"Damn the supplies, I'm going to save that little girl" Colin growled and knocked her hand away.

"You will do no such thing!" Saeko hissed.

Before either could react, Colin had taken off towards the sounds of screams.

Naruto turned to Saeko," Who are you? Where is Saeko and why shouldn't I cut out your throat?"

"Haha, always so observant, Naruto-kun. Saeko-san is unharmed and back at the house, she never left. We will see much more of each other…Much more" 'Saeko' smiled evilly before crumbling into dust.

"That was…and Earth Clone" Naruto gasped and tried to locate another chakra signature, only to find nothing.

That's when he realized, it was a distraction.

"Colin!" he shouted and took off in a blur.

As he neared the flat, he could hear shouts for Colin's name from the balcony. Luckily, the infected anywhere near the area were distracted by something else.

Naruto leapt onto the balcony, startling Kohta and a few of the people from Shido's group. Kohta was now wearing a ballistics vest with pouches for ammo," Kohta? What the fuck is going on?"

"Naruto! Colin went after the little girl, Takashi went to get him but a horde cut him off and he barely escaped! Colin's got the girl but he's tight-roping a cement wall with the little girl on his back" Kohta handed Naruto a pair of binoculars.

When the shinobi put them to his eyes and followed Kohta's finger, he found Colin balanced precariously on the wall dividing yards in front on an apartment building.

"Stupid Irish bastard!" Naruto cursed and went to the red head's aid.

The little girl clung to his back for dear life as silent tears fell down her face.

"Don't worry, wee Lass, I'm gonna get you outta here and get you all safe" Colin sweat slightly as the undead tried to pull him down by his legs. Most of his focus was on keeping his balance while keeping the little girl on his back.

"Oniisan?" the little girl touched Colin's back.

"What is it?" Colin whispered.

"I have to pee."

"Oh."

"It can't wait."

"Fuck. My. Life."

Colin told the little girl to go where she was and she hesitantly obliged.

As the Irishman felt the warm liquid down his back he shuddered," Great…I just got a golden shower."

"COLIN, LOOK OUT!" Saya yelled from the balcony.

The Irishman looked down just in time to see the finger of an undead find its way around his shoelace.

"NO!" Naruto roared and shot forward to catch Colin as he tilted back on the wall. He fought a losing battle against gravity before he finally began to topple off the side.

"Naruto! Get the girl!" Colin pushed the girl off his shoulders and towards the shinobi coming to grab him.

The blonde got a grip around the child's waist but couldn't secure a hold around Colin's wrist as the Irishman fell into the crowd of bloodthirsty undead.

"COLIN!" the group howled in unison as they saw his red hair disappear for a moment in the tide of flesh before it resurfaced for a moment.

"ONIISAN!" the little girl cried and reached a hand for her.

"Get her out of here, Naruto! Make sure everyone stays safe! Don't worry about me, be a good girl now, lass! Alright ya rotten bastards, you want a piece of me?! If any of you have a message to give the devil, give it to me quick, I'm about to meet him!" Colin shouted and swung a crowbar before he was swallowed in a chorus of moans.

Blood flew and Colin was still shouting when Naruto stepped forward to make an attempt to save the teen but was stopped by the roar of a large vehicle and the whine of a smaller motorbike.

"We've got to go! He's gone, Naruto!" Kohta grabbed the stunned ninja as the Humvee flew past, being trailed by Takashi on a dirt bike.

Naruto was still staring at the spot where Colin disappeared and shed some tears before a hand made contact with the side of his face and the real Saeko pulled him inside the Humvee.

As the Humvee drove away, the shouts died down. All was quiet. Colors blurred together as for the first time in a long time…Naruto cried.

A little short, a little sad. See you later bro's.
