Vlad King's Green Bean

Chapter one-hundred and four: Attack on Mithralhall Stadium (part two)

The heroes, as well as various agents of the Regime, at Mithralhall Stadium all had to scramble in order to evacuate innocent persons that were there, given that not only had members of the Rebellion launched an attack on the place, but the rebels somehow were able to bring Emperor Dabi's bodyguard Gigantomachia under their sway. In fact, the attack on the site of the provisional licence exams had opened when Gigantomachia lobbed a huge hunk of mountain right at the stadium, taking out more or less the whole of the northern sector of the stadium.

Izuku Midoriya, the number one hero Green Bean, was able to see that there were a few people on top of Gigantomachia, one of them being Hitoshi Shinso. Shinso, the former pro hero known as Siren, who had fallen from grace due to being discovered to have collaborated with the Rebellion, being stripped of his various honors and his hero rankand the like, and thrown into prison. Shinso was freed along with a few other captured rebels a while ago when the Rebellion was able to coerce the Regime into it via taking a field trip from UA hostage and demanding, among other things, the release of Shinso and the others.

Shinso being there on Gigantomachia made it clear to Izuku that Gigantomachia was acting only because Shinso had enthralled him with his Brainwashing quirk. Due to that, the being considered by many the world over as the second strongest single being alive had turned on the Regime and was now helping the Rebellion with carrying out the latest in devastating attacks in the land of the rising sun, the heart of the Dabi Regime's world spanning and ruling empire. Things had to be stopped here, and they had to be stopped, like, five minutes ago.

A number of the strongest heroes at Mithralhall Stadium were rushing in to try and combat the enthralled Gigantomachia. Izuku's old friends Yosetsu and Juzo were rushing in with him, and Juzo upon getting close enough crouched down and softened the ground all in front of him to sink Gigantomachia. One good thing about Shinso brainwashing Gigantomachia is that Shinso has to give him an order before he does literally anything; even when he has his own mind under Dabi, Gigantomachia at the very least will of his own volition take actions if self preservation is something he has to worry about.

Looking around, Izuku figured that, so long as Gigantomachia was active, then Shinso would use him as a shield to keep the heroes and Regime from getting to him or the other rebels on the behemoth's back. Izuku flew up, using a mix of the quirks from One For All to fly, then got at an angle where he'd have a clear shot at the rebels on Gigantomachia's back. Izuku, wearing his Air Force Gloves, took aim and fired a Delaware Smash Air Force, hoping to hit either Shinso or one of the other rebels in the hopes it'll cause some surprise to ones leading Gigantomachia along.

But Shinso saw Izuku, and had Giogantomachia raise his right arm and use it to block Izuku's attack. Even if Gigantomachia wasn't brainwashed, the Delaware Smash Air Force wouldn't have even registered on his radar. It would take someone of Felgrand's level to do enough to damage Gigantomachia so much that it'll get through the quirk the behemoth has that helps to block out pain. Izuku scoffed in bitter annoyance, knowing that the only way to get at the rebels on Gigantomachia's back would be to zoom in and confront the directly, a task easier said than done as Shinso, using his gargantuan puppet, won't let him.

And even if Izuku gets in and is able to confront the rebels on Gigantomachia's back directly, he has no idea exactly of what quirks they have. As for Shinso, Izuku has to be careful not to respond to whatever Shinso says, as with Brainwashing Shinso can enthrall Izuku in an instant if he responds to him. As a matter of fact, Shinso could brainwash Izuku at anytime thanks to his voice changing device letting him use Brainwashing while perfectly imitating anyone's voice; it would be best for Izuku to just not respond to anything said to or at him period.

Izuku saw an opening in between Gigantomachia tearing hunks out of Mithralhall Stadium with his bare hands. The top hero in Japan swooped in, flew right for the rebels on Gigantomachia's back. Some of them threw ranged quirk attacks at Izuku, but he dodged them all, even able to build up a bit of kinetic energy with Fa Jin in the process. One by one, Izuku knocked out the rebels, careful to not knock them off of Gigantomachia where they could potentially fall to their deaths. Izuku even got a rebel who was about to fall off anyway and lay him out in a more secure area.

Seeing this got Shinso's attention as he had turned to see Izuku there. "I'm surprised you didn't just let him drop, Miodoriya." Izuku didn't respond verbally to Shinso, only gave him a firm look. "...You're afraid that I'll use my quirk on you if you say anything," Shinso remarked, "It's a logical assumption to make, given the situation. I can't blame you for giving me the silent treatment. But therein lies the million yen question." Arching a wry eyebrow, Shinso went on, "Can you continue to give me the silent treatment indefinitely, or will you eventually crack sooner rather than later?" Seeing Izuku's continued glare, Shinso remarked, "I guess we'll have to find out."

Inside of the stadium's VIP viewing area, Dabi and a few of his inner circle members were suddenly attacked by members of the Old Rule Rebellion. They had a number of guards with them, and that was the only reason that they were able to fight back on equal footing. Dabi did NOT expect any of this; he was hoping to watch it live from the VIP viewing area as the students from hero academies all over Japan competed to try to earn their provisional licences. Dabi was particularly amused to see it that his nephew and said nephew's class was doing so well so far.

But then everything changed when a huge hunk of mountain suddenly crashed into the north sector of the stadium, taking out the entirety of that area. Dabi was then further surprised to see Gigantomachia, one of his two elite bodyguards and the one arguably most loyal to him, suddenly attacking the stadium in a clear bid to bring it down. Dabi had no idea what had gotten into Gigantomachia; all that Dabi knew was that he wished Felgrand wasn't away on vacation in England right now, because only the dragon had the strength and power necessary to bring down the behemoth.

As Dabi as well as his inner circle members with him fought back with the help of the Regime soldiers, one of the soldiers said, "Emperor Dabi, I just got word over the comm devices! A number of rebels are on Gigantomachia's back, and one of them is Siren! Green Bean is stated to believe that Siren is responsible for Gigantomachia's betrayal against the Regime!"

"Well that clears up a lot of confusion," Dabi called back, blasting a rebel with his blue flames, "But what I still wanna know is what in blazes is the Rebellion thinking with this attack they're carrying out!"

"It's obvious, ain't it you damn villain?!" one of the rebels shouted at Dabi, "We're here to take your head!"

"Ha!" Rappa laughed, "Good luck on that one! You rebels have had a little over twenty years and yet you haven't made a lick of progress towards that!"

Some of the rebels leapt backwards, getting distance from their opponents. "That's why we decided to use a cheat code," one of the female rebels said, a young woman who couldn't be any older than eighteen, "We're getting sick and tired of always being on the losing end against you Regime bastard villains! So we decided to try to play things on easy mode for a change!"

Dabi scowled bitterly, figuring he knew what the rebel girl was talking about by 'using a cheat code'; the rebels found Gigantomachia, then managed to get Siren to enthrall him, thus letting them use the Regime's second greatest weapon against the Regime. And it more or less was something of a cheat code, turning Gigantomachia against the Regime, against Dabi. There was virtually no one in Japan right now who had any hope of stopping the behemoth. No one hero, no ten, no one-hundred even. So long as the rebels had Gigantomachia on their side, one thing was clear.

The rebels, simply put, can't lose.

And the timing couldn't be worse, especially as Dabi himself and a number of his inner circle members were at Mithralhall Stadium. The rebels must have either gotten really lucky in picking their timing, or they had someone on the inside supplying them with details that helped them set up the perfect plan of attack. Either way, with this latest attack by the rebels, it's bound to make even the attack memorialized by Mourning Day seem paltry by comparison, and many of the people who Dabi held dear to his heart were killed in that attack. Chances are that another memorial holiday will end up being declared to memorialize this attack here by the rebels, although that will depend on how many people are killed in this attack, as well as how many specific persons of note end up among those lost to the violence this day.

Blasting another rebel with his blue flames, Dabi said, "You know, you rebel pricks really are something! Attacking a stadium full of innocent persons, and when a high number of hero academy students were taking part in the provisional licence exams! I'm willing to bet that the death toll of this little excursion of yours is already in the triple digits, given that you guys had Siren brainwash Gigantomachia and have him lob a fucking mountain at the stadium, taking out a huge hunk of the stadium as a whole! How will you guys even sleep at night, knowing how many innocents have died because of you?!"

"We're doing what we can to save Japan, and the world after that!" the same female rebel said, "Save it all from your oppressive rule! The reason why the world hasn't known freedom, hasn't really known real freedom, for over twenty years, is in this very room!" Pointing right at Dabi, the female rebel went on, "And it's standing right fucking there, you burnt chicken nugget motherfucker."

To the surprise of the female rebel, Dabi actually laughed a bit in response to what she had just called him. "Sorry, but I've heard that one before," Dabi said, "So much so that if I had a one yen coin for every time that I heard it, my personal wealth would be a little over double what it is now." Arching a wry eyebrow at the female rebel, Dabi went on, "You know, if you're going to attack Mithralhall Stadium during the provisional licence exams in a bid to kill me, then at the very least you could have had new material to insult me with instead of the same old routine."

Scowling, the rebel girl said, "I thought that it was original!"

Shrugging, Dabi replied with a cool, casual amused tone, "Nope, sorry." The female rebel screamed in frustration, and the fighting in the VIP area raged on.

Back outside, Izuku was having a difficult time dealing with Shinso. Although he could end things in an instant if he wanted to, Izuku couldn't do so without seriously running the risk of grievously hurting Shinso. Izuku also had to dodge a few times when Shinso had Gigantomachia try to swat at him, although Shinso also had to get out of the way lest he be struck too. Because of that, Shinso was able to keep re-opening distance between him and Izuku whenever the number one hero in Japan was able to close the gap and get right up in his face.

Izuku unleashed a cloud of smoke with Smokescreen, used it as cover to make Shinso overshoot him with a kick. Izuku tried to swing at Shinso, but the brainwasher had heard the swooshing sound that Izuku's mighty fist was making, used that noise to figure out where the attack was coming from then dodge to avoid it. Izuku, thanks to his Danger Sense, was able to tell where Shinso's next attack was coming from through the smoke, and leapt out of the way. As the smoke cleared, Izuku saw Shinso had tried to capture him up in a capture weapon, same as what Eraserhead used.

A lot of Shinso's fighting style, right down to the very tools he used, were essentially copy and pasted from Shouta Aizawa. Izuku knew that the rogue underground hero meant a lot to Shinso, so much so that he named his son after Eraserhead. This was due to how Eraserhead had been the first to see heroic potential in Shinso. The first to not dismiss him as nothing but a villain in the making, to not be quirkist towards Shinso, due to his Brainwashing quirk. By showing Shinso faith in him, Eraserhead had secured a steadfast and loyal ally. Shinso saw Shouta Aizawa as different from those who were quirkist towards him because of his 'villainous' quirk.

That being said, Izuku couldn't help but wonder how Shinso would react if he learned that Eraserhead, the very man he had idolized, had acted towards Desumi Yango the same way Shinso was treated by the adults who called him a villain in the making. Does Shinso even know? The top hero in Japan would have tried to bring it up in a bid to at least demoralize Shinso, to make him think twice. But doing so would risk multiple things for Izuku, most immediately putting him at risk of being subjected to the effects of Shinso's Brainwashing. That was something that Izuku couldn't risk at the moment, so he had to continue doing things the hard way.

As the fight between Shinso and Izuku raged on, Shinso continued to try to get Izuku to respond verbally to him, clearly in a bid to try and brainwash him with his quirk. "You know, I bet a good few hundred people must have died so far," Shinso said, "Deaths that are all on the Regime's shoulders, by the way." Izuku's eyes widened, as he got pissed that Shinso was putting the blame for what all deaths had happened so far and will continue to happen squarely on the shoulders of the Regime, despite how it's blatantly clear the Rebellion were the ones to launch this offence.

"Oh yeah," Shinso said, going on with a hint of a smirk both in his expression and in his tone, "This whole attack is the Regime's fault, you know! This attack wouldn't have occurred in the first place if it weren't for the Regime even being a thing! Simply by existing, the Regime is evil and responsible for all of what bad things occur! It was pretty obvious from the get-go, though! I mean, taking over the world, imposing your rule on everything, having those fighting against you captured and usually put to death? It's a textbook example of evil! It's villain one-oh-one!"

Izuku continued to keep silent, but a voice in his head, not from Danger Sense or any of the past One For All user vestiges, told him that Shinso just now was speaking from a place of personal experience. Was the brainwasher just now repeating some of the same tone that had been shown to him by past adults who called him nothing but a villain in the making due to his quirk? It was seeming to Izuku that Shinso was fighting as hard as he was, was sticking to his pro Rebellion guns as much as he was, because he felt a need to prove some people wrong about something.

Throwing another punch at Izuku, Shinso went on, "And now I'm hearing that my son, who has done nothing wrong, is being discriminated against by his teachers over at UA! His teachers who were all put there by the Regime! You can't even be related to someone who objects to the Regime's rule, even if you yourself follow that very authority without question! As far as the Regime is concerned, all of the eggs have to be in the same basket, and if one egg isn't, then all eggs from the same hen as the rogue egg will be busted because one of their number didn't fall in line!"

Shinso obviously was either overlooking or straight up didn't know that Emperor Dabi himself was trying to rectify that issue. Hell, part of why Dabi had his right hand man Spinner made the new principal of UA was so that Spinner could help stamp out the discrimination Aizawa Shinso was regularly subjected to by the Regime installed members of the UA staff. Dabi took things there as personally as he did because he saw it as a son being made to suffer because of the sins of his father, something that the man who rules the world strongly objects to for personal reasons.

Shinso tried using his capture weapon on Izuku again, but Izuku was able to dodge it. "It's the Regime's way or the highway!" Shinso said, "Why else do you think that Dabi and his fellow villains are setting up some sort of fancy department filled with people with quirks that allow for the easy violation of one's privacy? The Regime isn't even going to broker the idea of letting people keep secrets! They plan to actively deny the common people the right to have privacy! The real heroes in the Rebellion do respect the fact that people have a right to privacy, unlike the villains who run the Regime!"

Izuku was instantly worried by what Shinso had just said, obviously a bit on how the Regime had been known to use the recently resurrected Nemoto to get confessions out of captured rebels, a practice that had started back up after Nemoto's true restoration to life. There was also how Dabi was planning to, with permission from Setsuna and Nirengeki, employ their daughter Anya who has a mind reading quirk to help further sus out any rebels who had infiltrated the Regime. Although it was a violation of the privacy of others, the rebels and what actions they had taken in the past, are taking now, had made it a grim necessity.

The number one hero found himself in a particular spot; he still secretly supported the Rebellion's efforts to remove the Regime from power because on principal Izuku can't truly honestly support any rule brought about by villains. But the rebels often came across as little more than villains themselves, due to the acts they carry out due to sheer desperation in fighting against the overwhelming force that the Regime has been towards them. And this attack that the rebels have initiated and are in the middle of carrying out right now is arguably one of their worst acts yet due to the sheer destructive potential.

Izuku came to the conclusion that, ultimately, no one side in this conflict is wholly in the right or wholly in the wrong. Yes, the Regime is a world spanning and ruling power founded and operated by villains, but it has done a number of legitimately good things, and even cleaned up and fixed the messes of the power they had replaced a little over twenty years ago. As for the Rebellion, yes they are honestly wanting to remove confirmed villains from power and restore freedom to the world at large, but they seem rather devil-may-care about what all lines they cross in order to accomplish their goals.

Izuku was getting a strong feeling, as he and Shinso continued to fight, as he repeatedly ignored any and all attempts Shinso made to get him to talk, that regardless of how things end in this conflict between regime and Rebellion, more people than not will be unhappy. All that Japan's top hero could hope for was the path that offered the least amount of trouble for the people as a whole. And right now from what Izuku was seeing, the path that offered the least amount of trouble to the people as a whole was seeing the Regime remain in power. So Izuku continued to fight.

And continued to hope that the Rebellion will one day become good enough to actually save the day as they claim they wanna do.

Fuyuki and his classmates all followed Shihai out of Mithralhall Stadium, running into the parking lot towards the busses. "That's the bus we took here so that we could take the provisional licence exams!" Sato shouted as he pointed at the bus Class 1-A took.

"Who drove the bus here?" Shihai asked.

"Regime soldiers sent to UA by Toya's uncle," Yamato replied.

Shihai nodded once in understanding, then turned his attention to the currently besieged stadium. Even though he and the students were facing the south sector's outside, they could see signs of the north sector being attacked by Gigantomachia, as even from there they could see dust and debris flying up into the air. They could also hear and feel the rumbling made by the behemoth's mighty actions, they could hear his mighty cries that seemed to ring out over the whole of the area. Shihai had a grim look on his face as he looked at what was going on.

"...I think that it may take the rebels a while to mow through Mithralhall Stadium," Shihai said, "That being said, I suggest you kids all get on the bus now. I'll drive you all back to UA."

"What if that beast manages to mow through the stadium then make a beeline for UA?" Nika exclaimed.

"The late Nezu, unbeknownst to Regime authorities," Shihai said, "Had secretly upgraded the defenses used to turn UA into a fortress between the first and second wars launched by the emperor's efforts to take over Japan. All damage from the second war having been repaired aside, the defenses are now triple the strength, power, and durability they used to be. Nezu had boasted that even Felgrand would have a hard time trying to besiege UA."

Gesturing to his dad, Shiro said, "So we'll be safe at UA is what you're saying."

"At least for long enough to give Felgrand time to get off his lazy ass and get back from vacation to help take Gigantomachia down," Shihai said as he loaded the students onto the bus to take them back to UA.

"Hey, in Felgrand's defense, none of us had any idea this was going to happen," Toya spoke up, "And he is celebrating with his fiance the fact that they had just gotten engaged." Shihai ignored the emperor's nephew as he had the boy get onto the bus. Once all of the Class 1-A students were on board, Shihai himself got on, closed the door, got into the driver's seat, started up the bus, then tore out of the parking lot like a bat out of hell. What mattered the most right now was getting the students over to UA where they would be safe from the Rebellion's attack right now.

...An attack that no one but Shihai knew that Shihai himself was in on.

Back in the VIP viewing area at Mithralhall Stadium, things were not going hot for Dabi and his fellows. The guards were all killed, and although the rebels attacking Dabi's side had suffered some losses, the rebels still outnumbered Dabi's side in that fight by about fifty percent. And all of the rebels were fighting to kill, hence why so many of the guards with Dabi and his fellows had died. If things kept up at the current rate, then Dabi had reason to believe that he and his fellows with him may end up going on to join their guards in the dark, black void beyond.

In theory, the fight should actually have been a fairly easy win for Dabi. But that would require him to cut loose with his quirk, and causing excessive damage aside, Dabi would also be putting his friends with him at risk, something that he'd much rather avoid. The rebels seemed to be catching onto that, due to how as many of them as they could spare were focusing on the man who rules the world, keeping him occupied while the others kept Dabi's fellows who were with him occupied. Just occupied as they felt that if Dabi was the only one left in the end, then with no friends to worry about he'd cut loose.

In that sense, a man who has nothing left to lose more or less can't lose.

"Come on, men!" one of the rebels shouted, "We have the villains outnumbered! We can take them out!"

"Feh, kind of cowardly to sneak attack us and try beating us down with superior numbers," Rappa scoffed, "What, don't think you can win in a fair fight?"

"We actually can win against you villains in a fair fight," the same female rebel from before retorted, "But therein lies the problem. You villains don't fight fair! You have not fought fair against the Rebellion at all for over twenty years!"

Dabi cast a gust of blue flames at the female villain, who quickly ducked down and rolled to the side to avoid it. "And you're suggesting the authority that the lads and I took down," Dabi began, "The authority that you rebels are trying to put back in power, is fair? An authority that was blatantly corrupt, that allowed its heroes to get away with dirty deeds that were swept under the rug, that permitted rampant discrimination and allowed people who had done no wrong to suffer? You say that such an authority is fair and just?"

"Of course the rule that the Rebellion plans to bring back when we take down your Regime is fair and just!" the female rebel shouted, "It's run by heroes, the good guys! There's no way your Regime, which is run by you and your buddies, can be good as all of you guys are villains!"

Dabi could tell that the rebel girl had been born and raised in the Rebellion, nursed on their ideals and beliefs. There would be no convincing her, or any other rebels for that matter, that they're following people running on outdated and corrupt ideals and philosophies. And it was people like that which tend to be the worst kind of persons for the job of running things, which is one of the reasons why the Rebellion was as dangerous as it was. Dabi and the rest of the Regime had to do what it could in order to stop the Rebellion, stop them from being as much of a threat to the people of Japan as a whole as th-

*shunk*

"GACK!"

Dabi's trail of thought was cut off when, to his pain and surprise, to the horror of his fellows with him, the rebel that Dabi was currently fighting had taken out a hunting knife and was able to stab him right in the side of the throat. The rebel then yanked the blade out so that it cut through more of Dabi';s throat and windpipe, inflicting a mortal wound that would soon lay him low. Time seemed to slow down for Dabi as, unable to breathe, his lungs filling with blood, Dabi fell to his knees as he coughed and struggled to take in any precious air that he could.

Dabi's fellows who were with him tired to rush to his aid, but even Rappa was kept occupied by the numerically superior rebels. As such, the rebel who stabbed Dabi in the throat acted with impunity as he casually walked to where Dabi fell to his knees, kicked him over so that he laid face up on the floor, pulled out a gun, and gave Dabi mercy by shooting him in the head, killing him instantly which made it so that he no longer suffered from the mortal wound that would have claimed his life anyway but also drag out the suffering somewhat.

Dabi's fellows who were with him were the last to fall, with Rappa being the last. But they, in their horror over seeing their leader and close friend die, fell one by one, mostly due to being distracted. Once Rappa fell to his knees and fell over onto the floor due to being shot in the side of his head, the victorious rebels took a moment to catch their breath. They were also in at least a little bit of shock, given that they had just carried out an incredibly big task that will help them pave the way to removing the Regime from power for good.

"...Get word to our fellows," the rebel who killed Dabi said to the others, "Tell them the good news. Tell them that Dabi's dead." The other rebels cheered, as if having just scored a major victory after a long and violent conflict. As the other rebels in the room went about contacting other rebels elsewhere, the rebel who had just killed the man who rules the world lowered his gaiter mask, took off his sunglasses and black knit beanie. As such, the rebel who killed Dabi had revealed himself to be Shouta Aizawa, the rogue underground hero Eraserhead.

Holding up a comm device to his mouth, Shouta said, "Hitoshi, it's me. We have just broken the crown. Repeat, we have just broken the crown. As soon as you can, get yourself out of there. As soon as I'm done communicating to you here, I will make a beeline for Agatsuma Town. You know where to find me there." Shouta then turned off the comm device, put back on his sunglasses, beanie, and gaiter mask to disguise himself again, then took one last look at where Dabi laid dead on the floor. Shouta sneered in contempt at Dabi's remains, a sneer hidden by what he wore to disguise himself, before he turned around and left.

He hated the now late villain for forcing him to cross the line heroes aren't supposed to cross.

END, CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND FOUR

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the attack on Mithralhall Stadium continue, mainly seeing Izuku deal with Shinso and Dabi and some of his fellows deal with rebels attacking them personally although there's a bit where Shihai, who's secretly helping the Rebellion for reasons that may or may not be of personal interest to the Scheming Hero, gets the Class 1-A students onto the bus and off to UA where they'll be safe. The chapter ends with seeing Dabi and his fellows with him killed by the rebels attacking them, with Shouta Aizawa turning out to be the one who kills Dabi.

Although this is a major win for the Rebellion, it's not the final move. The Regime has an heir to rally behind, and this attack is already going to make international news, but it'll be doubly so when it gets out that Dabi had been killed in the attack, although no one outside the Rebellion knows it was the rogue underground hero who had had just committed regicide. The next chapter will continue and conclude the attack on the provisional license exams, as well as see fallout from what all had gone down during said exams. So until then, take care.
