Chapter 38 Corinthians Ford
"In all my years of travel only one island I have found is more beautiful than my homeland of Mariejois, and that is the island from which those who built my homeland originated.
The island of builders, Corinthians Ford. Almost 800 years ago my forefathers insisted the help of the 6 Clans of stone masons that lived on the island at the time those being
Clan Somhugo
Clan Dilathers
Clan Kristtock
Clan Fuzzknott
Clan Lofter
And Clan Clasping
But as of my visit there are only three remaining, those being Clasping, Lofter, and Fuzzknott.
There was a terrible Civil War that occurred that took place for nearly 20 years, only ending 5 years ago.
Clan Somhugo being the oldest of the 6 clans believed they deserved control over the island whereas it had been jointly controlled by the 6 chiefs.
Within one night Clan Somhugo had decimated the weakest of the 6 Clans, that being Kristtock.
Over the next 100 years battle was fought eventually leading to the extinction of Clan Dilathers.
On one cloudy day the chieftains of Fuzzknott, Clasping, and Lofter decided enough was enough and crafted a weapon so powerful that when it struck the ground it created a fissure through the island creating the water source now known as St Jaspers Bay.
It is named this because the man who crafted the incomprehensible weapon went by the name of Jasper Xexion.
With the weapon Clan Somhugo was eradicated, not a single person with Somhugo blood survives today.
After the war had ended statues were made commemorating the new clan chiefs those being
Rampant D. Pierce, of Clan Clasping
Gothness D. Ronan, of Clan Fuzzknott
And Kilter D. Maddox, of Clan Lofter
These blood lines still rule today and still lead their people with love and compassion.
I managed to get an interview with the current chiefs but most were still tonged nor used to outsiders.
They requested their words not be published, save for these "it is not without hard work can Beauty come into existence" I assume these words are in reference to their magnificent architecture.
The island is located between the government owned island of Sloshed Gaggle and the island of Romance Dressrosa.
What makes Corinthians ford so special is the water source that runs through the middle.
When coming within a kilometer of the island the current becomes so strong that you are sucked towards the center of the island.
Once there it is impossible to leave the way you came, but the chiefs have designed a fix for this issue.
It was the invention of the locks, these allow water to fill the Jaspers bay meaning you can exist through the back of the island.
These lock systems have been implemented all throughout the Grandline most importantly in the shipbuilding island of Water seven.

The architecture of Corinthians Ford is its main appeal to outsiders, unfortunately they do not allow people to live on the island unless you are related by blood or you marry into a clan family.
During my research of the island I discovered that there is something hidden in the bottom of the bay, which is actually much deeper than it first appears.
I tried to get a comment on the item but no one seemed to know anything, not even the chiefs.
I will leave you with one final note of the island, more so it's architectural prowess.
If you are ever inspecting the rubble of a castle anywhere in the second half of the grandline check the bottom of the stone in the rubble.
There is a high probability that it will contain one of the three clans crests."
