Chapter 12 – Just Dance
Spock seemed uncomfortable sitting next to me in the booth while I nursed my first beer. We had only been here for half an hour, but I was taking my time, not wanting to make him any more uncomfortable than he already was.
"Ashaya, you do not need to hold back for me." Spock said quietly, meeting my eyes. I looked at him for a few seconds before making up my mind and flagging over our waitress. I flashed her a charming smile, enjoying the way she blushed slightly and clutched her hands. More enjoyable was when Spock would grab my knee and squeeze to let me know he was going to hurt me if I continued.
"One vanilla mudshake and one chocolate mudshake please." I practically purred.
"Right away." She said softly, ducking her head and hurrying off.
"Jim, are you trying to get killed, because if looks could kill, you'd be dead again." Bones slurred out. He, on the other hand, did not bother taking his time and had had far too much whiskey. He claimed it was to erase the information of me being a screamer from his head. I had laughed and bought him a round because I felt bad.
"Please stop playing with that waitress, Th'yla. You are mine and I do not appreciate the way you are trying to elicit an emotional response from me." Spock said formally, releasing my knee. He was still glaring when the waitress returned with the drinks I ordered. She gave me a tentative smile and before I could even think of returning it, Spock had grabbed me by the chin and practically shoved his tongue down my throat.
I chuckled as Bones protested and the girl squeaked before running off.
"I win." I said, holding my hand out.
"Shut your corn fed mouth." Bones grumbled, placing twenty dollars in my hand.
"I am highly confused. When did you place bets on my emotional stability?" Spock asked in confusion. I just grinned, sliding the chocolate mudshake over to him. He froze, staring at me with wide eyes.
"I know what chocolate does to you." I whispered, winking as I chugged back the rest of my beer.
"You asked me to make sure you did not go over board, as you put it. Therefore consuming a beverage that would intoxicate me would be highly illogical." He frowned slightly, looking down at the drink.
"What did I say about loosening up, babe?" I said, smirking when his cheeks flushed.
"I'm sure you loosened up for him, Jimbo." I flashed Bones a 'you are not helping' look and he started laughing.
"For… you then." Spock whispered, taking a sip. I smiled, leaning in and kissing his cheek. I was happy, I had my best friend and my boyfriend by my side, nothing could ruin this.
"Would you like to dance, Captain?" A dark voice purred. I looked at the hands resting on our table, then followed them up to look at Kahn's dark eyes. Not even he could ruin my happiness now.
Bones let out a half yell, his hand over his heart. Spock was on his feet, his fists clenched.
"Sure." I said, standing up and brushing past Spock, who grabbed my arm. I looked back at him and winked, letting him know that it was fine.
"Jim, what are you doing?" He growled in my ear.
Please don't give me a boner right before I go and dance with him. That's just awkward. I said, making him raise an eyebrow.
Fine. I hope you know what you are doing. He replied, letting go of my arm. I nodded, leaning in and kissing him gently before following Kahn to the over crowded dance floor. His arm hooked around my waist and I forced myself not to puke. He can't hurt me here, or in my mind ever again.
"Admit it, you liked the feeling of power that killing gave you." He whispered in my ear.
"Dream on." I growled, my arm unconsciously snaking up his to rest on his shoulder. I couldn't help the smirk that formed when he tensed up. We danced in silence for about five minutes when another pair of arms came around me from behind, familiar lips pressing to my neck and making me throw my head back. The smell of chocolate and vodka drifted from his mouth and I held back a laugh.
"What did you do, chug it?" I asked in surprise. Kahn's grip around my waist tightened and soon I felt like I was squished between too bodies.
"Mhmm." Was the only response I got before I realized that, not only were his arms around me, but Spock's hands were on Kahn's hips. Shit… How intoxicated does chocolate make him?!
"Well, this has become rather interesting." Kahn trailed off, one hand moving to wrap in Spock's hair while he leaned forward and kissed my neck.
"Okay!" I protested, jumping away from them. They looked at me, both of them stunned before I turned around and walked back, sitting beside Bones.
"Have I drank too much, or were you practically having a threesome with Kahn and Spock just now?" He slurred, looking at me in confusion. He looked back again and whistled, causing me to follow his gaze to where Kahn had his arms wrapped around my blushing Vulcan. I grabbed my mudshake, tossing it back and only getting a weak buzz off of it. Damn, I was hoping chugging it would help.
"You have drank too much, but yeah I apparently was." I growled, waving over the waitress and ordering some absinthe vials. That should help.
"Kid, hate to say it, but you are on your own." Bones said, getting up and paying the waitress when she returned.
"Thanks, you're an amazing friend." I grumbled sarcastically as he smiled apologetically and walked out. I downed the first vial, almost ready to storm out when Kahn leaned in for a kiss. Spock looked taken aback before he pushed him away and stumbled his way over to me, sliding in to the booth and burying his head in my neck.
"Having fun?" I muttered. Grabbing another vial and downing it.
"I was trying to make you as jealous as I was, I did not think he would attempt to kiss me." He grumbled back, his hand trailing up my leg.
"Sorry, that was rude of me earlier." I said, kissing his head as he… he purred. Wow, okay, chocolate is now being stocked in the apartment because this was hilarious.
The smile that had slowly formed on my face disappeared when Kahn slid in to the booth, his arm touching mine.
"I'm bored." He muttered, even pouting a little. Okay, I was drunk. There was no way Kahn just pouted.
"Then go away because I will not be your amusement." I protested, downing the last of the absinthe. Head rush, wow, okay, drunk sex, I would really like to take Spock home for round two right now. One where I can run my hands along his skin and awwwe shit I have a boner. And Spock's hand just found it, damn it.
"Oh?" Spock gasped out, kissing my neck and poking at my crotch.
"Really?" I groaned, about to turn to look at him. Kahn grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at him and making my head spin. I didn't even get a chance to protest before his lips caught mine. Not like before, not rough or demanding. Soft and almost caring. I was pulled away as Spock growled before capturing my lips with his. Oh for the…
"Guys! Seriously, flattered, I think, but stop fighting over me! I'm not some doll that you can pull on!" I slurred out. Oh great, slurring. Why did I have the feeling that I was severely going to regret those absinth vials?
"You're mine." Spock whispered in my ear, causing me to shudder.
"Mhmm, let's go home." I said, getting up and placing money on the table. The waitress came over immediately, clearing the table and nodding shyly at me. I patted her shoulder, clinging to Spock and turning around. Kahn was gone and I frowned slightly before another arm was holding me up and helping me move.
Kahn's face was stone, showing no emotion while Spock looked confused but willing to accept the help. I'm hallucinating, that's it, cause this is just really weird. God, my head felt heavy, my eyes felt like they couldn't stay open… What was in that absinth?
"I would like to put out there firstly that it wasn't me before I point out that your Captain seems to have been drugged." Kahn muttered, his voice seemingly far away.
"And why should I trust you?" Spock was sounding more like himself, that's good.
"Can we get more chocolate, you're really cute." I giggled, tripping slightly. Kahn caught me, pulling me up.
"I know the apartment is only a block away, but we can't just drag him. It's almost like he's gained a hundred pounds in the past hour and a half." Kahn complained, hefting me up more. Woah, had it really been that long. How long were we dancing? I don't… Remember…
"I am not… fully functional. Can I trust you to carry him?" It took me a second to realize my eyes were closed, but at this point I don't think I could have reopened them.
"Do you have a choice?" Kahn growled, lifting me up as I protested. I turned my head, coughing slightly before promptly throwing up on Kahn's shirt. He froze for a moment before making a disgusted sound. That sound was the last thing I heard before passing out.
My head felt like it was going to explode… what happened last night? I blinked my eyes open, staring at Spock's peaceful face and smiling warmly. I was safe, at my apartment, in his… arms… four arms… Oh shit.
Calmly, I turned my head, firstly noting that all my clothes except my shirt were on, and looked at Kahn's sleeping form. His left arm was under my neck, cradling me, while his other was draped around my waist, hand on Spock's hip. Okay, so we were all shirtless and in a bed together. Did hell freeze over? My breathing hitched and Kahn's eyes flew open to meet mine. He moved slightly closer, causing me to bump in to Spock, who woke up and immediately started staring at the hand on his hip.
"Do you remember puking on me, Captain." Kahn said, his face blanked. I gulped slightly and couldn't help but flop down on to the pillow, and in turn his arm, and start laughing harder than I had in a while.
"I assume you are feeling better Jim?" Spock said affectionately, stroking a tear off of my cheek. "Kahn, remove your hand from my waist, I am not liking your thoughts."
I calmed down, pulling myself together before slipping out of the bed and wiping my face.
"Now, why are you in bed with us?" I asked once I was sure I wouldn't start laughing. I can't believe I puked on the man that's been tormenting my life!
"Ask your mind that, I do not recall going to bed with you."
"Nor do I." Spock said, eyeing me suspiciously.
"Woah woah woah, no offense, okay, lots of offense, but there is no way I would want you in bed with me and Spock." I said. He was gone in an instant and I went back, flopping down beside him.
"I incorrectly assumed that you weren't attached to him. But after what happened last night I believe we should never have been involved." Spock said, getting up. I was stunned for a moment before jumping to my feet and blocking his exit.
"What happened last night, I don't even remember!" I yelled, trying to catch his hand in mine. He raised an eyebrow but I don't think I've ever seen him look at me with such… hatred…
"Firstly, you danced with him. Then you allowed him to kiss you. Then you clung to him when he picked you up and now we awake to him in the bed with us."
"Okay, the dancing thing was me trying to show you, and myself, that he can't get to me anymore! I do not remember him kissing me! And I most certainly don't remember him carrying me!" I complained. Confusion crossed his features and he took a step forward.
"You mean to say that you do not remember anything passed dancing with him?"
"I'm saying I don't remember anything after that first shot of absinthe!" I yelled, backing away with a glare. "But thank you for your confidence."
"Then Kahn was being truthful when he said someone must have drugged you."
"It feels like at every second someone is trying to keep us apart." I growled, backing further away. "And every time, it feels like you don't trust me."
"Jim, I trust you with my-."
"You just looked at me as though I were shit on your shoe!" I yelled, grabbing my jacket and turning around. I didn't care that I had no shirt on.
"Are you… breaking up with me?" He said quietly behind me. I took a deep breath, my heart melting at the insecurity in his voice.
"I assumed you were." I whispered, not turning around.
"I was hasty and judgmental… I did not mean it." I heard him move closer and I sighed, turning around.
"I'm not breaking up with you, but I need to clear my head." I leaned up, kissing him gently. "I'm just going for a walk, I'll be right back."
"Alright, Ashaya." He whispered, leaving me to walk out the door. The second I was in the cold air it was like something flipped inside me, I'm not sure what and I was following the man that had just pickpocketed some woman's wallet. A smile played on my face and slowly, I slipped the silver blade from my pocket in to my sleeve.
