Set immediately after Season 5's episode, Swan Song, Chuck muses on the nature of the finale of a story along with just who it affects and how. Experiencing some mixed feelings over how things developed, he wonders just how selfish a writer is allowed to be.

Ariella had grown up alongside the Winchesters and had always considered them family, even if that family had fallen apart when Sam decided to go to Stanford. As John goes missing, they are thrust back together in attempt to track down the hunter, but along the way they start to uncover what it truly means to be family...and just how interwoven the cords of their fates had become.
