a/n: SEE? I'M NOT DEAD. I'm working on the next chapter of Hetalia in Wonderland, I swear! And I'm doing my best with Tales of Ellis Island, but I can't think of someone to write next! If you have ideas or prompts for me, just PM me or tell me in a review and I WILL WRITE IT.

I had this idea randomly, and then I wrote it. It tried to be longer, but then I shortened it…so now this is one of the shortest things I've ever written.

I don't know if it's AU or not. I use human names, but it's never specified if they're human or not. I think this AU-ish thing is one of my favourites…

I apologise for slightly random spelling and any OOC-ness that may occur. [bows] I have done my best.

Kiku had just settled himself into his favourite armchair with the latest issue of Jump, a cup of tea, and his reading glasses perched at the tip of his nose when the soft knock came at his door. Sighing quietly, he placed the tea and magazine on a side table and went to answer the caller.

When he slid the door open a few inches, his eyes met the green ones of his friend Herakles.

"Ah, good afternoon, Karpusi-kun," Kiku greeted, bowing slightly and opening the door further. "Please, come in."

Herakles nodded slowly and entered, followed by a horde of cats as was usual. "Good afternoon, Kiku," he greeted. "I've told you there's no need to be so formal—Kiku, why are you wearing glasses?"

Kiku blushed and ducked his head. "They're reading glasses, Karpusi-kun." He'd completely forgotten he was wearing them! Hastily, he raised a hand to remove them, but Herakles put a hand to his to stop him.

"Don't bother," he said. Then he smiled. "Besides, they're kind of cute."

Kiku wondered if it was healthy for a face to get so red. "P-please, don't say such embarrassing things!" he pleaded. Nevertheless, he left the glasses on.

a/n: It's…so…short…

This is my first attempt at Giripan (although I don't think they're a couple here, just really close friends), so I don't know if I got their personalities right…

Please, do tell me how I did! The review button is just down there, and it loves being clicked on!
