So, I just wanna warn everyone that I will not be posting this or Facebook Official again until after the 23rd, Tuesday, as I will be camping and will have no access to the internet... even though I should be able to. But whatever. I'll have time to write, so hopefully I can pop out a few chapters of each story between beach time and such, haha. 11/12 years old - The Truce

Shayne sat on his twin bed watching the latest episode of So Random. It was a repeat, as it first aired the week earlier, and it was the last of the season. He watched the episode as Zora and the three other cast members played different characters. Every time he watched an episode he felt three emotions.

Shock. Jealousy. And pride.

It had been almost two years since Zora left for Hollywood and though she had come back at the end of So Random's first season, and for some holidays, she hadn't quit like Shayne had first thought. She stuck with it. He was shocked that she did.

But he was also jealous. Jealous that she was living the life of a TV star now. Zora, the girl that annoyed him for the last six years of his life. He was funny too. He probably would've gotten the talent scout's attention at the school talent show that year if he hadn't been forced to stay home because of a 103 degree fever.

What shocked him the most, was that despite the jealousy he felt toward Zora, he was proud. She didn't let any of the "don't get your hopes up" she got when she learned she was going to Hollywood get to her. Here she was, going into her 3rd season of the show already. She was making the small Oregon town she was proud of her. And surprisingly, that included Shayne too.

The show was just ending and the announcer was talking about some new girl, Sonny, who would be joining the cast for the next season. Shayne half-listened, as his attention turned to the window where he just heard a noise.

"Shayne! Come on bro!"

He lifted the window and saw his brother, Levi, and his best friends Jordan and Stella standing outside. He climbed out and looked at them.

"What's the rush?"

"Dude, my sister just came home. We're gonna be going to hang out at the lake and my parents are gonna bring the grill later for a cookout there!" Jordan said.

His eyes automatically rolled at the mention of the younger Lancaster.

"Come on bro," Levi said. "Don't be a party pooper."

He shrugged his shoulders. "Fine. Whatever."

He trailed behind the three as they rode their bikes to the lake. To say he was excited... would be lying. But Jordan was his best friend. The fact that his younger sister was his rival would just have to be forgotten. Besides, he could always ignore her.

Maybe.

He was sitting on one of the large rocks near the water eating a hot dog when she came up to him. He smirked as she looked at him.

"Shut up. My mom made me come over here."

"Why?"

"She noticed I haven't talked to you at all."

"Well, you just talked to me." He ate the last bite of his hot dog. "You can go now."

"You think you can get rid of me that easily?" Zora said crossing her arms.

Shayne bit his lower lip, then nodded. "Yeah. I do. Bye."

"Sorry buddy, it's not gonna be that easy."

"Yeah it is. Watch." Shayne stood up and gave her a shove toward the water. Rather than laughing, he let out a yell of his own when she yanked on his arm mid-fall, causing him to fall into the water alongside her.

He resurfaced, spitting out water that went into his mouth. He met a pair of brown eyes glaring at him which he returned with a glare of his own.

Then they laughed.

He didn't know why they both burst out laughing. And he was sure their family and friends were confused as hell. He was too. But the only thing he was sure of, was that the petty rivalry between him and Zora was over.

He was glad.

Hell, I don't even know why they were laughing, haha.
