A.N. I think I'm just doing these for the sake of doing them now... Anyway, thanks for the reviews. I'm glad you guys are enjoying the story.

I take a deep breath and half jump, half slip off the edge and plummet about 10 meters down. I land with a thud, pitch forward and face plant into the ground. Standing up, I brush myself of, unharmed. Huh, I guess I really am pretty tough. I glance around and hope that no one noticed me jump.

It takes me little while, but I realize something. How the hell am I supposed to get back inside? The door's bound to be locked, that is if i could even find it in the massive place. I tap on the windows? No, far too embarrassing. Maybe- Maybe one will be unlocked? Maybe? Oh please, please, please! I check. Nope, so much for the power of wishful thinking. I sigh, brilliant, just brilliant...

"Is everything okay Martin?" I hear Jeans voice in my head. "Sorry to pry, but you were broadcasting alarm all over the place!"

I jump and nearly have a heart attack. Voices in my head, this is perfectly normal.."Umm, yeah... Could you maybe let me back inside?" I think back.

"Ouch! Don't shout." She replies. Don't shout? How do I think that? "Also, back inside? How did you get locked out?"

Should I tell her the truth? Noo, way too embarrassing, and she'll probably condescend me for being stupid. Then again, she is telepath, aren't they able to tell when you're lying? Hmm- what if I tell her a half truth? Will she be able to see through that? Oh decisions, decisions...

"Ahh, yeah. I kinda fell out of my window a little bit." I admit, keeping it short. Maybe it wasn't so much of a fall but...

"OH MY GOD! Are you okay?" She thinkshouts at me and I wince at the intrusive thoughts- aha get it? Alright, I'll stop. "Oh, of course you're alright, sorry. Umm, oh I see how it is." She continues, her line of thoughts shifting from alarm to amusement. "Sure, I'll let you in."

"Thanks..." I sigh. Oh she absolutely knows what I was doing.

She mentally laughs "No problem. Could you meet me in the hall?" The other students will be arriving soon and the professor wants you to meet them."

"Ahh sure. That's to the left of the hedge shaped like an angel right?"

"The right..."

"Oh, yep. That's what I meant, aha." I awkwardly laugh to myself as search for the fabled door.

I walk into the hall as Jean lets me in. "Thanks..."

"No problem Martin." She looks like she's about to follow that up with something. Probably to disparage my idiocy, but seems to think better of it.

A few moments of awkward silence follow. I was just about to try and make some awkward small talk when the other students arrive. Finally! Introductions are had and I'm glad that they mostly seem nice.

"Hey Martin, was it?" Kitty, one of the students a little older than me calls out.

"Yeah?"

"Want to go check on Kurt with me?"

"Kurt...? He's the blue fuzzy dude right?" I ask, hoping my memory isn't going to embarrass me already.

She nods enthusiastically. "Got it in one!"

Whew "Sure, I'd feel a little better knowing he's alright. After all, I did save his life or something..."

She laughed at that, rolling her eyes, "Alright! Come on then!" She grabs Rogue as well "You too!" my first impressions of Kitty? She's waaaaay too enthusiastic.

I follow them to the infirmary and spy Kurt looking a little pitiful in his bed. He looks up. "Oh, hey Keety, hey Rogue, you came to check on me!" I stand in the doorway awkwardly, I guess I'll be doing that a lot whilst I'm settling in. "Who ist das?" He asks the two girls, nodding his head at me.

"Oh, he's Martin! You know, the guy who like saved you."

"Gah, of course! Sorry, mein friend, I did not recognize you."

"It's okay... I guess it was pretty dark, and you did look pretty beaten up." I reply with a somewhat forced smile. How on earth does he not recognize me! I took freaking sixteen bullets for him! The least he could do is at least recognize me!

"Ja, I guess. I still feel bad though" He looks down. Aww, look how guilty he looks. No, Martin, bad! You're mad at him! Stop being so nice. He's the enemy! I sigh., I'm right though, he was pretty badly hurt, he still is. A broken arm, broken ankle, sprained wrist, a bruised everything, two black eyes, and it waaas very gloomy... So I guess I'll forgive him... I guess.

I shrug, "Hey, forgive and forget man, forgive and forget. Like I said, it was dark and you had two swollen eyes and anyway I don't hold grudges... (A VERY, VERY, VERY LONG TIME! THEY KIDNAPPED ME!) Yeah, I know I'm a liar, it's one of my many floors- err flaws.

"Danke... again." I nod. He and Kitty then start talking. Ignoring me. Damn, I miss being the center of attention already.

"So Rogue... How's things?" I ask. Yes I know... prepare for trouble and make it double with Cliché and Awkward.

"Meh..." She looks bored.

I cross my arms."Come on! You can give me a better answer than that!" I poke her forehead. She freezes. Oh shoot, I poked her! Dammit, I should really stop doing that. It's a bad habit... She stares at me shocked. "What?" I ask. Oh come on, it wasn't that out of line was it? A bit of friendly banter, it wasn't overly familiar was it? Well maybe a little.

"Y-you just poked me..."

"Ahh sorry about that... Personal space right? It's a bad habit, I should probably stop it..." I rambled, feeling my cheeks heat up.

"You poked me with your finger!" She repeated, sounding more surprised than anything. Kurt and Kitty were looking at us now, startled.

"Errm... Yes... That's usually what you poke people with..." Okay, what's going on? I'm confused now... Hmm...Being the center of attention is less fun than I remember...

"But-" She frowns. "Do it again! Do it again!" She demands excitedly. I do.

Kitty and Kurt both look really surprised! "Guys?" I say. "What-?"

"You can touch me! You can-you can touch me!" She starts, her eyes wide.

"Errm" Now I'm the one starting to feel a bit uncomfortable.

Kitty finally jumps in, explaining for me. "Martin, Rouge can't touch people. She like, takes their powers and drains their life force and stuff."

Rogue hugs me and I sort of awkwardly hug her back, patting her shoulder. I know, I'm not good with hugs, don't rub it in. "Oh, then that explains why she's so happy and huggie..." As reply, as the connotations start to sink in.

She take off one of her gloves and touches my face. "This is- this is amazing! Your not passing out or, or, anything...!" She exclaims, stumbling over her words in her excitement.

"I guess I'm an amazing guy aha, heh... Erm..." I reply, looking for a way to escape. All this center of attention business is definitely not cracking up to be what I though was and though I felt happy for Rogue, the close contact was making me feel really claustrophobic. I glance at the clock on the wall. "Oh look, it's nearly time for dinner! I'd better go get changed aha, ahhh..." I say awkwardly as I pry myself away from Rouge and retreat out of the room. Cringing internally the whole was from my lack of social aptitude. Hurrying into my room, I collapse onto my bed.

A.N. Yep, defiantly just doing them for the sake it...
