It was a little after noon, fishes already wandering and hovering all around the town. Supposedly, during this hour of the day, two certain familiars of a sea witch would either be doing something in the house or exploring somewhere outside the town. They were, however, doing neither, as the two of them were boringly walking around the local store for shopping. Well, at the very least, Memoca was the one who was bored. Dolphi, who was holding the basket which already had a few items inside, could only show a nervous smile, not really knowing what to do with her mate's mood.
Since that little incident with the clothes, Fukami wouldn't seem to trust them with house-watching anymore, and so for today (and probably for more days in the near future), they, or more specifically Memoca, were tasked to buy the items needed for dinner and other miscellaneous things. Dolphi merely tagged along in request of the seagull, since she didn't really want to spend the next few hours by herself in the store.
"I'm sooo boreddd…" Memoca dragged her words as she stumbled through the aisle, her unwillingness to do errands evident in her actions. Dolphi merely watched over her, taking a few items from the shelves at the side as she held the grocery list at one hand. She tried to lighten up the seagull by showing a smile.
"C-Come on, Memoca, it's not really that boring, is it?" She walked up to the bird's side, who was dragging her feet along the aisle. Memoca just deadpanned at her, giving her a look that said 'are you really asking me that question'. "U-Uh, prosciutto,"
Dolphi pointed at a row of items near Memoca, and the seagull, staring at her for a second before reaching over sloppily towards a random pack, tossed the raw meat into the basket that the dolphin held in her hands. Memoca could only sigh loudly, resting her wings behind her head as she continued to drag her feet. Dolphi followed her with a sigh of her own.
The dolphin, however, wasn't going to give up that easily on cheering her girlfriend up, so after a few steps of silence between them, she made her way back to the seagull's side and leaned a little close to her. Memoca seemed to notice, and she turned towards her with a slight questioning look. Dolphi showed another smile.
"Ah… if you want, we can go get ice cream after this?" She had a slightly nervous look as she suggested this, since she wasn't really sure if this was the best way to try and cheer Memoca up, but it quickly faded away when she saw the sparkle in the seagull's one visible eye. "Fukami left us with enough money, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to…"
The dolphin was startled when someone suddenly grabbed her hand, and looking up, she felt the colors on her face as Memoca beamed at her with an excited look. She had snatched the grocery list from her hand, and she was already pulling the dolphin towards a different aisle. Dolphi could only yelp, letting herself be dragged as she tried to keep the basket from dropping.
"Well, what're you jus' strolling around for? Let's go, let's go!" Memoca's bored mood seemed to have vanished in the blink of an eye, and Dolphi, blinking at her for a moment before letting a more warming smile form on her face, gently squeezed the hand back. "The sooner we finish this, the sooner we can go on a date!"
The choice of words was enough to fluster the dolphin, and as she looked down to try and hide the blush on her face (did she actually just ask Memoca out on a date? She never did that before– it was usually the other way around– and that wasn't really what she intended. Not that it was bad or anything though) while Memoca merely grinned widely as she felt the grip on her hand tighten.
They finished shopping and went to eat ice cream, spending the rest of the money as they hung out till late in the afternoon, before finally going back home.
Fukami didn't want to trust them with anything ever again.
