If ever there was something Fukami had learned recently for the past few days, that was to not leave Memoca on her own when she was on an errand. That was why, for today (and probably for the rest of the days; hopefully nothing too eventful would happen today), the octopus brought the seagull with him to grocery shopping, despite his distaste in the other's loud tendencies. That left Dolphi all alone in the house, as the witch and her shark familiar had gone to the castle once again.
With house-watching all up to the dolphin, she was relatively bored, considering that she was alone in the house, only the muffled sounds of the currents from outside the walls filling the room. For the past hour or two, she had pulled out her sketchbook, a pencil at hand as she drew her boredom away.
She had probably gone through a few pages when the sound of the door opening caught her attention, and looking up from her sketchbook, she closed it before sauntering over back to the living room to greet the people who had gone back home already. It could only either be Wadanohara and Samekichi or Fukami and Memoca, so she wasn't surprised to see an octopus and a seagull in the living room with paper bags at hand.
What she was surprised at though, were the accessories on their hair, more so Fukami as he was actually wearing one, too. Dolphi could only stare at the pair of cat ears over their heads, and as the octopus noticed, he quickly snatched the accessory from his head and practically threw it across the room. Memoca could only laugh, keeping the accessory in her own hair as the dolphin seemed startled at Fukami's sudden action.
"We're backkk!" Memoca grinned. Surprisingly though, the seagull was upbeat and not bored, unlike from when she went off with the octopus a few hours ago. Fukami had an exasperated look on his face, glaring slightly at Memoca and the cat ears on the other side of the room. Dolphi nodded nervously. It was obvious something had happened while they were out shopping.
"W… Welcome back," She watched as the two placed the bags they were holding on one of the couches, pausing for a while before, "…Did anything happen…?"
Fukami sighed as Memoca snickered, the said seagull pulling out more of those cat ear accessories from one of the bags. She waved them around. "We bought these cute headbands while shopping! There was this weird yellow cat-like vendor person outside, and I got Fukamin to buy one for all of us!"
Dolphi looked at the said octopus with a slight shocked look, surprised that he actually agreed to buy these headbands and even wear one. Fukami was quick to react though, and turning back to the dolphin, he immediately defended himself. "She wouldn't shut up about it," He said, regarding the buying of the accessories and him being forced to wear one. He sneaked a small glare at the seagull. "She said it would look cute on you,"
The dolphin blushed, hand already up to her face to shyly scratch her cheek. Memoca huffed at Fukami though, giving the long haired octopus a playful punch on the shoulder. "Hey, hey, ya didn't have to say that!" There was a faint red on the seagull's cheek, and that was enough to satisfy Fukami as he rubbed the part where he was hit. "But yeah, I'm sure it's true, so!"
Memoca made her way to Dolphi, the said dolphin still a little embarrassed at the seemingly compliment as she fidgeted on her feet. She didn't move back or anything though when the seagull gently placed one of the accessories on her head, brushing her feathers through her hair and tucking a few strands behind her ear. Dolphi could only look down on the floor nervously, the red spreading across her face as Memoca stepped back to marvel at the sight of the dolphin wearing a pair of cat ears.
Dolphi was already burying her nose under her scarf, eyes unable to maintain eye contact for long as the lips on the seagull's face curved upwards. The colors on her face seemed more prominent than before. Placing her wing on the other's shoulder, the sparkle in her one visible eye could be seen from under the strands of white and yellow.
She grinned. "You're so cute!"
The dolphin could only stammer quietly, feeling the heat on her face as the two of them continued to wear matching cat ears. Fukami had watched them for a while before he started going through the grocery bags, picking up the fallen accessory from the other side of the room as he made his way to the kitchen.
Later on, Wadanohara and Samekichi would come back home to a couple of cats.
