Hey guys,
*Tiredly yawns* I hope you all have been well, I've been mostly mediocre but what can you expect? This chapter was more or less written in the span of two hours which makes me feel kind of bad about it being posted, but the idea is a lot better than my original outline and this design of a villain and introduction to her and her partner is more creative than I would have figured. Hooray for creativity!
But in all seriousness, this demon has a bit of correlation with the new Pokémon Noivern but blame that on the fact that I'm trying to find the perfect team for something like competitive battling in Y and Noivern was one of the first I knew was a must on this team. My original idea was Noivern, Aegislash, Wevile and ? but the team now in Noivern, Aegislash, Mega Houndoom and Mega Ampharos, which I fairly like. But, still trying to get it all figured out.
If I'm not too careful, I'll end up designing a ton of demons after my favorite; Dark Type Pokémon. And yes, I'm 100% serious, dark type is my absolute favorite out of all of the types in the game. I know they are not the best in terms of...quite a few things, but they've always been my favorite thanks to Umbreon being my all time favorite Pokémon and the others being so beautifully designed (looking at you Absol and Houndoom). If I get too out of hand with the Pokémon-like designs, be sure to tell me.
But anyways, I gotta go do some homework. Feel free to review or pm with a review, question, critique or comment. Never forget this project isn't mine alone and be sure to have a good week, I'll hopefully have a new chapter done and ready soon,

From another part of Xenolith's castle Kyoshiro Yakage and his partner Amera along with Shura and Michael suddenly struck what seemed to be a cushion right before the stone floor. It was bright pink and neatly stitched, letting out only a gentle oof sound when they collided with the ground. It had to have been nothing more than a joke, which would make a hell of a lot of sense when you realized who this castle belonged to.
"K-Kimiko! Amera! Guys!" Kyo sitting up right away and looking around with franticness imbedded in light green eyes.
"Calm down." Michael sitting up and rubbing his temples with aggravation as he looked around to study the area. "Shura? You alright?"
"Yeah, just peachy." The lightning demon groaned as he sat up, looking around with a raised eyebrow. "B-But where are we?"
"It seems that the last room we were in was a trap after all." Amera said with a sigh. "And if you had my guess, I would say that the intention of the room was to separate us into smaller groups."
Kyo stood up, trying to keep his balance on the cushion while his eyes darted around to study every inch of the area. "But why into smaller groups?"
Michael sighed as he stood up as well, beginning to walk off of the cushion with arms spread out to help him keep his balance. "Smaller groups mean less offense and defense in a single fight, making it easier to destroy everybody."
The others all looked to Michael Whatley in surprise, not too sure what to think even though they knew that he was making quite a bit of sense. Kyo drawing in a breath as he and the lightning bookreader soon had their feet on the cold stone ground of Xenolith's castle. "So, there's no way to tell where we are or where anybody else is, is there?"
"Doubt it." The other replied, watching the demons take their place at their bookreader's sides. He drew in a breath, looking around the small hallway they were now trapped in. The hole in the roof that let them in seemed to have vanished and the cushion was pressed against a wall. Both sides of the hallway were nothing but grey and unfeeling stone, the only thing not being stone was a black door that seemed to be covered in spell tags with kanji written all over them. "What the hell?"
Kyo turned. "What's up?"
Michael pointed to the door, catching the eyes of the other three as Kyo ran ahead to go check out whatever was written on the spell tags with Amera staying close to him.
Go on, go see.
Chills suddenly ran down Kyo's spine, the teenager halting in his tracks halfway down the hall. "W-Wha...?" Voice slightly trembling as he looked around to try and see if he could find the source of the voice that suddenly filled his ears.
Or maybe it wasn't his ears.
"Kyo?" Amera's soft voice filling his ears as the light green eyes glanced to his partner with a nervous twitch. "Are you alright? You suddenly seem pale."
"I-I'm...er...fine." Kyo said, drawing in a breath in the hopes of calming his now rapidly beating heart as he got closer to the door. "Come on, we gotta find out what these tags are saying."
Kyo's feet never felt more heavy, continuing to glance around with a bit of paranoia while his partner walked a few steps behind him. He didn't seem to be okay, but it wasn't like him to suddenly go into a panic. Could it have been the Puppet Master?
No, he had never spoken to Kyo before, there was no way it could happen now. She just wouldn't allow it to get to him now.
"Kyo, what do they say?"
Michael said this as he came up behind the other bookreader, watching tremors run down the raven haired teen's spine when he spoke, lifting an eyebrow. "Are you okay?"
"O-Of course." Kyo continued to nervously laugh, hating the idea that the others were just going to worry about him. But what if I'm next? He talked to Kenja and then next thing we knew, he was fighting Kimiko. Oh god, please don't let it be me. "But anyway, the spell tags."
Kyo snatched one from the door, studying the messy kanji written on the slip of paper in a bloody red scrawl. "It just says noise."
"Noise?" Shura asked, cocking his head lightly. "What is noise supposed to mean."
"Dunno." Michael returned as he examined the tags. They all said the same thing, noise written in bloody scrawl. But what did noise have to do with anything that they had gone through before? Up until now, there hadn't been anything that had to do with sound in general. Sure, it took sound to call out spells, but that couldn't be important, right?
"If anything, the room with have to do with noise."
Eyes fell onto Amera who seemed to be holding a spell tag in her own hand, drawing in a breath. "When you put it to mind, Xenolith still considers this entire mission to be nothing but a game that he gets to control. This could be regarded as a joke, or a precaution, but which it is is something I don't know."
"It could be a trap." Michael muttered.
"Or it could be advise we will need to follow." Kyo insisted, wanting to think positively about this in such a grim time.
Shura drew in a breath, grabbing the doorknob. "Well, it doesn't matter which one is right, we'll have to figure it out when we get in. But we know that we can't just sit around and try to figure it out.
The lightning demon had a point, both of the readers looking to one another for a moment before nodding. "Right." Watching Shura open the door which would surely contain some sort of surprise set forth by Puppet Master himself.
.
.
.
The room was pitch black.
The teams nervously stepped inside, looking around as Kyo kept the door halfway open with uncertainty. "I don't get it, what are we missing?" He whispered, trying to get a look around but being unable to thanks to the darkness swallowing everything in the room.
Michael clenched one of his hands into a fist as he looked around. "I don't know." He whispered back. "I don't think there is anything in here, or at least anything that we can see."
"Maybe it's part of the game?" Shura asked, trying to see if he could feel any sort of demonic energy.
"But if it is, could it really be noise that could begin it? Or it is noise that could make us lose?" Amera questioned, keeping her voice low.
Neither bookreader liked not knowing what to think at this point, but there wasn't anything they could do about it. This wasn't a place where things were fair or logic stuck around to make sure everything was happy. No, this was a place where anything could be a trap and where suddenly somebody you cared about as a friend would be trying to kill you against their own will in a second.
Don't be so tense, dear, it's just a bit of darkness.
Kyo practically jumped out of his skin when the voice of Xenolith seemed to whisper itself in his ear, the teen able to feel the warm breath of their enemy on his skin. "Oh god!" He managed to scream quietly.
But when he moved, his grip on the heavy door was lost, the door moving in a powerful swoop and suddenly slamming into place, causing Kyo to yelp thanks to all the fear running through his body at this point.
Micheal couldn't help but jump at the sounds, looking to Kyo with wide eyes. "What the hell just happened!"
He was being loud, Kyo drawing in a nervous breath as he panted. "X-Xenolith."
"What about him?"
"I could hear him! I could feel him!" Kyoshiro Yakage shouted as he shook, looking around with wide and frightened eyes. "I'm sure it is him in his room! He's got to be around here!"
"Xenolith isn't here, Kyo!" Micheal said, finding himself a bit irritated.
"Uh guys?" Shura suddenly said, pointing to the ceiling. "L-Look."
Both bookreaders gazed up at where the lightning demon was pointing to, finding a pair of red animalistic eyes wide as they blinked and looked around, soon locking onto them with a screech that sounded like a cross between the cry of a baby and the scream of a bat.
"W-What is that?" Amera said, taking a step back with fear, unable to tell what kind of a creature the red eyes belonged to thanks to the darkness.
"I don't want to find out." Kyo whispered, turning back to the door and trying to open it only to find that it wouldn't budge. "N-Nonononono, please no!"
"What is it now?" Michael asked, but a bit of fear was wavering in his own voice.
"The door's stuck!"
"You've got to be kidding me!"
"I'm not!"
They were continuing to be loud, Amera and Shura watching the creature cautiously as it continued to watch them with red eyes blinking earily. However, as the bookreaders shouted more often, the red eyes narrowed and another screech silenced everybody.
"What's it doing now?!" Kyo asked, covering his ears at the sound of screeching.
"M-Moving." Amera whispered as the sound of beating wings suddenly filled the room, the red eyes circling the room with another screech.
However, as the sound got more rapid, something strange happened. The sound was pass an area and as it did, powerful candles began to light and destroy the darkness. Before the four knew it, the entire room was engulfed with light and the once mystery creature suddenly landed before them.
It was a girl.
A demon girl.
She had long black hair and thick wings attached at her shoulder blades like those of a gargoyle and thanks to the cement like tone they had, it was fitting. She was wearing what seemed to be a completely black jumpsuit with black boots, her animalistic eyes glaring at them as pointed ears twitched. However, the most interesting thing about this demon was her hands, where instead of the flat inner palm there were thick yellow half circles jutting out. But there weren't just circles, having small dots poked into them all over which made them resemble speakers.
"Y-You're a demon." Kyo muttered, looking at her in a bit surprise.
"Of course I'm a demon." She said with a sigh, leaving the four in a bit of surprise that she was capable of speech. "But not just anybody, I'm one of Lord Xenolith's favorites; Yakamashii."
"Noise?"
The gargoyle turned to Kyo with a sigh. "Yes, my name means noise. What about it?"
"It was written on spell tags attached to the room's door." Kyo said, but couldn't help but feel his interest peaking now that maybe things could make a bit more sense now.
"Ah, of course it did." Yakamashii stretching with a yawn. "I was peacefully sleeping until that door and your screaming woke me up. With all that noise, no demon in the world could sleep. You could even wake the dead with that kind of racket."
It all added up, Kyo swallowing as he found the eyes of Michael on him with a little bit of annoyance. Puppet Master really was trying to give them some sort of warning in writing a precaution on the door. But in the end, it must have been the fault of both of them, right? After all, Michael was also guilty of yelling thanks to him snapping at Kyo when the door first slammed shut.
"But, if you're a demon just like us, where is your bookreader?" Amera asked as she took a step close to Yakamashii.
"He's right over there, right Chinmoku?" The gargoyle asked, turning to a corner in the room where an old man sat in a chair. With his eyes shut and his mouth wide open and releasing loud snores. "Chinmoku?"
"Oh my, he is fast asleep." Amera gasped in a bit of surprise, Shura snickering at the sight of the elder drooling on himself. "But how could you sleep through such noise?"
"If he wasn't making such a sound, I'd say he was dead..." Kyo muttered.
"Just one second." Yakamashii blushing with nervousness as she drew in a breath and rushed over to her sleeping partner. "Chinmoku! Open your eyes! We have an enemy to destroy now!"
The old man seemed to remain sleeping, his partner shaking him with aggravation as her voice grew an octave. "Wake up, damn you! Lord Xenolith is going to murder us in cold blood if we don't start killing enemies right now!" Chinmoku still not responding, driving Yakamashii to shout in irritation. "I didn't want to do this, again, but I have no choice."
The gargoyle suddenly placed her hands close to the ears of the elderly man, drawing in a breath as the speakers inside her palms released the screech the four has the misfortune of hearing before, causing them all to hold their hands over their ears in an attempt to drown out the horrid sounds.
"W-What!?"
The screech suddenly stopped, everybody watching in shock as Chinmoku suddenly woke up, looking around. "Where am I? What is happening!?"
"Is this for real?" Kyo muttered, unable to take this very seriously. "This is part of Xenolith's team to destroy us all?"
"I don't know if we should laugh or if we should feel bad..." Michael added with a sigh.
"Come on, it's show time." Yakamashii said, motioning to the cement gray book in the old man's hands.
"Oh, okay." Chinmoku slowly getting from the chair as his aged eyes took the liberty of studying these youngsters. "Well, I expected more of the people the Lord wanted us to destroy, but if this is it, I guess I can't complain."
The gargoyle nodded with a soft smirk. "They do look a little disappointing, don't they?" Shrugging shoulders as she let her wings stretch out to their four foot wingspan. "But, maybe we just weren't lucky enough to get the major threats this time around."
"What was that?" Michael growled, holding out his book.
"You aren't threatening." Yakamashii taunted, sticking out her tongue. "Neither of your demons really strike fear into me."
"How dare you." Amera said, drawing her sword from its sheath.
"You're gonna wish you didn't say that." Shura said with his eyes narrowed.
"Really now?" Yakamashii laughed, looking over the four. "I really don't think that is going to happen."
"Kyo."
"Michael, the book."
"Right." Both of the teenagers nodding as they opened their respective books with the hopes of a quick destruction of their enemies.
"Sorusen!"
"Shakir!"
Amera's sword gave of a white glow, getting quite a bit sharper as she rushed at their foe, Shura releasing a black bolt of lightning from his hand.
"Chinmoku."
"Of course." The man holding his own book out with old eyes narrowed with focus. "Bumabasuto!"
As both spells got close to her, Yakamashii held out her hands, the speakers suddenly releasing a powerful high pitched sound with quite an amount of force, the lightning quickly being destroyed.
However, the main problem with the sound was how it felt, a surge of pain rushing through the bodies of the demons hearing the noise and bringing them to their feet in no time thanks to this agony.
"What is happening?" Kyo asked, eyes wide. "They're covering their ears, but there's nothing to listen to."
"They look terrible..." Michael not sure what to say or do. "What the hell is going on?"
Yakamashii smirked at the powerful sound slowly faded, a smirk spreading across her face. "What a fun game this will be. To have to fight something like sound, which you cannot touch or destroy and your partners don't even know it exists." Yakamashii giggled, cold red eyes studying them with joy.
"Welcome to the game of noise, a game where your only enemy is something that you can't fight against or destroy, but it can destroy you."
