A/N I am getting back into the swing of this, finally. Suggestions on this story are welcome, just PM me. I would love to hear some reviews from you all, thanks. One reviewer said Sabrina seemed too nice. Alright, I read through again, and I'm going to add in some fire.
Everyone's POV
Sabrina sighed as she went into the cafeteria for lunch. She had made friends with an Everafter named Bella, who she had discovered was the Frog Prince's daughter. Alice Liddel, a dreamy Everafter girl with pale blonde hair who always seemed a little "up in the clouds," and Gretyl, an Everafter who was a sweet and clever girl with light brown hair and lots of freckles. She was also friends with a few humans, Anna, who had chin length black hair and loved soccer as much as she did, and Ginny, a smart brunette who was closest with Gretyl.
She slid into her seat between Bella and Anna, and picked at her lunch. Today it consisted of a green apple jelly sandwich with bacon chips and a weird squishy brown thing that she thought was a mix of a peach and pear. She wrinkled her nose and pushed it away, and as if on cue Puck showed up behind her.
"Grimm, hasn't anyone told you it's rude to waste food? Give it to people who are in need," Puck complained, "like me." He had said the last part as he was shoveling down a half of the inventive sandwich.
Sabrina rolled her eyes. "And I'm sure that you are in dire need of food. It's not like you didn't just finish the lunch that Granny actually packed for you before coming over here for seconds."
Puck smiled wolfishly. "Just remember to get all your books before your next class."
"And why is that?" Sabrina asked in alarm. "If you did something again you overgrown hairball of a fai-"
Puck gave her a warning look, glancing meaningfully at Anna.
Right, Sabrina thought, Anna was human- she couldn't exactly call Puck out on being a stupid fairy in front of her.
Sabrina bit her lip as the bell ring, apprehensive about facing he locker, but even more so about not having her books for next class. She shuddered thinking of what Heart would do to her.
She trudged down the hall, waving a quick goodbye to her friends, who were all giggling and blushing because Puck was walking by. She rolled her eyes, yes he was hot, but he was also very annoying. She could think of a hundred unpleasant adjectives to describe the fairy. And another thousand that made her heart pound and her stomach all twisted. NO. No, she would not think of him like that. She refused to.
Sabrina had had boys interested in her before, starting when she was around twelve. But she was twelve when her parents disappeared and she and Daphne had started bouncing around schools like a merry go round. Sabrina hadn't gotten attached to any of the cute boys who had hit on her because, without fail, she was at a new school, with new boys a month later, give or take a few weeks.
This time was different. For the first time since losing her parents, Sabrina knew she wasn't going anywhere soon. Her parents were here, Granny Relda, Canis, and friends that she actually intended to keep. And so, with all these constants, she also got Puck. And apparently, they were going to live forever, too, even if she decided to grow up. So, that's great. She was stuck with him for eternity.
With these thoughts coursing through the blonde Everafter head, Sabrina forgot about the trick/prank Puck may or may not have planted inside her locker. She easily undid her combination, wrapped in her own thoughts, and pulled the door towards her. Stringy, sticky stuff coated her quickly from two strategically placed water guns, then green and blue glitter poofed in her face from a bucket that tipped when the guns went off. So now, Sabrina was coated in a whirl of blue and green sparkles that she could already tell would NOT be easy to get out.
"PUCK ROBIN GOODFELLOW! GET OVER HERE NOW!" Sabrina screamed angrily, a deadly look in her eyes.
"Yes, Grimm? Oh my, what glittery hair you have, my dear. What happened here?" Puck said with his trademark victory grin.
Sabrina bared her straight, white teeth at him in a truly menacing glare. "YOU-YOU IDIOT!" She was now red and shaking, and most of their classmates were gathered around the two of them.
"Aw, Grimm! You're losing your touch! That's the best you can think of? I thought you'd like it. You are such a fan of girly thing like sparkles and glitter. And I'm a fan of monkey snot, which is currently making the stickers STICK, if you know what I mean," he said with a conspiratorial wink that pushed Sabrina over the edge.
"Monkey snot?" she said in disbelief. "Monkey- you know what." Sabrina walked slowly over to Puck, anger gleaming in her eyes.
"What're you gonna do, Grimm? Cry like a girl? I mean, you are one, even if just barely-" He was cut off as a fuming Sabrina slammed her fist into his left cheek. She had a mean right hook, mostly to protect herself and Daphne when they were alone in the city or with bad foster families. And she had just unleashed it on Puck.
Puck looked up in shock. He made a mental note to be ready to evade Sabrina's fists of fury after future pranks. Because there WOULD be future pranks. He loved this!
Some of the teachers on duty had broken through the crowd of gaping students to reach the center of attention in time to see Sabrina punch Robin, and hear some of the stuff he had said to provoke it. The Beast, the school's gym teacher, had stood watching the whole scene.
Now, the beast was a good guy who went by the name of Mr. Beast. He was all fixed after Belle had kissed him, but he was nevertheless a pretty hairy guy. Brown hair covered his face, ears, and head in thick waves. He had bushy eyebrows and strong arms and legs. He was a perfect gym teacher, really had a knack for scaring the kids into running laps. But watching Sabrina and Puck, he was more scared of them than they were of him. He only hoped he didn't have them in the same gym class…
"Both of you, detention! For a month!" Mr. Beast said.
"But he-" "But she-" Sabrina and Puck started at the same time, Sabrina glaring daggers at Puck, and him smirking back at her.
"NO BUTS," the Beast roared, effectively getting the two teenaged Everafters to shut up. "Be glad I'm not SUSPENDING YOU and get out of here before I change my mind."
Sabrina huffed and grabbed her books while Puck started laughing as he followed her to their next class.
"What's so funny about this? You do realize we have to tell the entire family about what an IDIOT you are and that we have DETENTION for a month?" Sabrina asked angrily.
"S-so worth it," Puck said, trying to catch his breath from laughing so hard. "And now you're stuck in glitter and snot for the rest of the day!" He was howling with laughter by now, tears starting to form.
Sabrina, noticing these tears, stopped walking and brushed one away with her fingertip. Puck caught her wrist, eyes wide and laughter gone.
"Did I make you cry? Trying to hide it with laughter that you've got hit by a girl?" Sabrina cooed. "Why aren't you in the Nurse's office by now- that's going to be a nasty bruise." She gave him a wink as she wrenched her wrist free of his grasp, and started back to class.
Puck touched his cheek, remembering the fire she'd hit him with. He was surprised- that kind of a punch took practice, hard work. She had perfect form, and that meant she'd done it before. It made Puck feel sad to know that Sabrina, as blue-eyed and innocent as she was, had fought people in the past. He shrugged the unwelcome feeling off. Since when had he cared about other people's pasts before? He had a complicated one himself, and he sure as hell wasn't going to share.
The funny thing was, as he pushed the door open and strolled into the classroom, he knew there wasn't even a mark from where Sabrina's fist had made contact. Everafters heal very fast, and even though Sabrina was an Everafter know too, she obviously didn't know all the perks that came with the description yet. Her eyes found his face, narrowing as she realized he didn't even have a faint red outline as he had earlier, much less the "nasty bruise" she had promised.
"Sabrina Grimm, please do stop ogling Robin Goodfellow, we are in a classroom," Ms. Heart said, taking relish in drawing out every syllable.
Puck raised his eyebrows, waiting for Grimm to turn red. As if on cue, Sabina flushed scarlet and whirled around in her seat, blonde hair flashing out behind her in a sheet of gold. She has really pretty hair, Puck thought to himself. It was like gold and silk and waves all at once. He shook his head. Nope, he can't have those thoughts, especially since… well, he could fix his little problem by dying it green, his favorite color. Or maybe he'd do it blue, since he knew that was he favorite color. And it would match her eyes… He started planning, gleefully constructing a new prank.
Sabrina was very angry as she stomped to her locker again at the end of the day, still covered in snot and glitter, though she had contained most of it to her clothes now, with a few random sparkles in the hair around her face or speckling across random parts of her skin. She now had to find out why in the world her right hook hadn't left a mark. It was her trademark move! It always left a mark.
"Hey, Grimm, I'll give you a lift now, since I'm so generous and all. And I don't want to get home first and deal with telling them about the detentions alone." Puck had crept up behind Grimm and slung her backpack across his shoulder with his own.
"Puck. Why didn't you bruise? You should've. I felt the contact. It was hard." Sabrina was too puzzled to remember how angry she was. Puck thought that was a good thing.
"We're Everafters, Grimmy-bear. We heal, like, ten times faster than everyone else. It would take a LOT to bruise me up." Puck smirked down at her, forcing Sabrina to look up. He was a good head taller than her, and its effect on her was dizzying.
"What else can we do?" Sabrina asked. Puck was making this sound like they had super powers or something.
"Well, we don't get sick, we heal quickly, and we have magic. That enough for you? I mean, we can decide the age we want to stay at for the rest of our lives, and change our appearance to match it." Puck loved how Sabrina's eyes widened with each piece of new information.
"That's crazy! What about Granny Relda- she's old!" Sabrina said, using her hands as she talked. Puck thought it was cute to see a frazzled Sabrina.
"Granny Relda is VERY old- but she decided to have kids and that means you have to forfeit the whole decide how long you live stuff. You pass on the immortality and stuff to your kids. She is still knowledgeable about magic, and she still has some, but not as much as your dad. But when he left Fairyport Landing, he kinda put that on hold. Since you and Marshmallow weren't' born here, you didn't inherit it. But now that you're back, it's in full swing, and you guys have the Everafter immortality passed down from Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, all the way to you." Puck was trying to explain it all in the best way he knew how.
"Why do we have immortality anyways?" Sabrina asked.
"To make sure the Grimm line went on. As long as a Grimm is here, the barrier stays up. And if one Grimm was REALLY ugly or just didn't want to grow up, they would stay whatever age they wanted, forever, until hey had a kid to take the immortality off of them and continue the line."
"That…" Sabrina frowned. "That actually makes sense."
"Great, now let's go home, I'm starving. Wanna stop at the Blue Plate Diner before heading home to tell the bad news?" Puck offered.
Sabrina nodded. "I need normal food. A stupid fairy ate my lunch today." Sabrina sent him a pointed look with her expressive blue eyes.
"Fine, fine. I'll pay tonight. But don't expect this to become a regular occurrence." Puck wrapped his arms around Sabrina's waist, and took off into the sky, holding her back against his chest like they were dancing. "God, what do you eat, Grimm, feathers? I could toss you ten feet!" Puck said.
"Don't you even think about it. You think my right hook hurt? Try my left on top of it. I'll throw in a kick too." Sabrina said back, mostly teasing now.
Puck laughed, the sound making his chest vibrate against Sabrina's back. She shivered involuntarily. "Relax Grimm. I have a better prank in mind than just throwing you." Puck took off into the sky before Sabrina could say anything back, and the pair jetted into the clouds.
