And now, for the long awaited chapter of this story! Sorry it's so late. I do not own Yugioh, enjoy! [JAPANESE and ENGLISH]
Chapter 16
Yugi ran across the room and picked up the taller teen spinning him around before placing him back on his feet. He heard a slight growl from behind him, and could only assume that Yami was displeased with the act. Well, what did he know? Ryou was his best royal friend; he'd just have to deal with it.
"You're early," Yugi said.
"Yeah, well we made good time," He said.
"Oh Kami, I'm so happy to see you," Yugi said pulling the albino into a hug.
"It's good to see you too. Yugi, how easily does your Fiancé get jealous?" Ryou said hugging him back while looking over his shoulder.
"Too easily, he's glaring at you isn't he?" Yugi asked.
"Yep, if looks could kill, I'd be six feet under. And would you mind speaking in some English please?" Ryou asked pulling away. Yugi turned around to look at his fiancé.
"Stop it," he said giving him a glare of his own. "Why? Is your Japanese rusty?"
"No, but your fiancé's glare keeps getting worse with every sentence."
Yugi just laughed.
"Prince Yugi, who is this?" Pharaoh asked.
"This is the Second Prince of Britain, Ryou Dorobo. We've been friends since I was three and he five. I invited him here for moral support while being fed to the wolves. Obviously he accepted my invitation," Yugi explained.
"I see, you servant, set up a room for this Prince across the hall from my son's fiancé's room," Pharaoh commanded without further explanation being needed.
"Father!" Yami complained.
"And Prince Yugi, back to your room," Pharaoh continued. Yugi's shoulders sagged slightly as he took Ryou's hand and proceeded to lead him out of the throne room.
"Father, you can't be serious!" Yami complained as the large doors shut behind them.
"So, how is the engagement between Lady Vivian and your brother Noah going?" Yugi asked as he let go of his hand and linked their arms together.
"Oh, didn't I tell you? It ended two months ago," Ryou said.
"It did? Why?" Yugi asked.
"Well, my brother caught her sleeping with our cousin Duke Rex Raptor," Ryou explained.
"Ouch," Yugi said wincing.
"Yeah," Ryou agreed.
"Your brother has got to stop calling off his engagements, he needs to produce an heir," Yugi said chuckling slightly.
"Oh, he's already engaged again," Ryou said as Yugi opened the door to his room.
"RYOU!" two voices screamed tackling him into the hallway.
"Hey guys, it's good to see you," Ryou said awkwardly patting their backs.
"Guys, come on, let the Prince breath," Yugi said pulling them off of him and ushering them all inside.
"Thanks Yugi," Ryou said rubbing the back of his head.
"No problem, so who is he engaged to this time?" Yugi asked as they all sat down on his bed.
"Princess Serenity Trust of Ireland. She's only 16 years of age. That makes her a good match for my brother's age of 23 years. They're scheduled to marry when she's 18 years of age, which gives them a nice long two year engagement," Ryou explained.
"Is she a red head?" Yugi asked playing with Mira's hair.
"With a fiery temper to match," Ryou said nodding.
"Nice, Noah needs someone who stands against him, and doesn't cower before his own temper," Yugi said.
"Well, Serenity definitely has that in her favor," Ryou said chuckling.
"How's your engagement with Lord Dilan Sarugaki going?"
"I found him bedding some harem slut," Ryou said grimacing.
"And so ends engagement five for you," Yugi said shaking his head.
"Yeah, hey who was that guy that was standing next to your own fiancé, the one with white hair?" Ryou asked.
"Bakura Kulena," a voice said from the doorway.
"Oh, I see you know English, you just don't know Japanese. How interesting," Yugi said, giving him a sly smile.
"Why didn't you tell me your friend was coming?" Yami asked moving into the room.
"Oh I was, I just figured I had a little more time to tell you. Like I said before, he's early," Yugi said rubbing the back of his head.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Crown Prince Yami," Ryou said offering him a hand to shake.
"I wish I could say the same," he said turning his head away.
"Come on, could you be any more of an ass?" Yugi asked exasperated.
"I think he could, he's just restraining himself for you," Ryou said lowering his hand and smirking slightly.
"Oh, Ryou don't tempt him, he might actually hold up to the standard you've laid out," Yugi said challenging the older male with his voice alone. Yami looked at him out of the corner of his eye. Yugi nodded in Ryou's direction.
"Pleasures all mine," he said through gritted teeth holding out his hand for Ryou to shake. Ryou shook it briefly before releasing the hold.
"Yugi, I think I'm going to step out for a moment, mind if I borrow Malik and Mira?" Ryou asked standing up.
"Not at all, be good you two," Yugi said.
"We will." they chorused. Once all three were gone Yugi rounded on Yami.
"Well, that was just a wonderful display of hospitality you showed just now! Could you have been any ruder? Wait, don't answer that, I already know the answer," Yugi said angrily making his way out onto the balcony.
"Well, a little heads up would have been nice!" Yami said back just as angrily following him out onto the balcony.
"He's early, Yami! I didn't get any warning either! He didn't even reply to say he was coming, he just came!" Yugi almost yelled but barely controlled himself. It was unbecoming for a Prince to yell, shout or scream.
"How long have you been friends?" Yami asked crossing his arms.
"Ten years," Yugi responded leaning on the railing to look out at the Nile River.
"And neither one of you showed an interest in the other during all that time?" Yami asked.
"Don't be ridiculous; Ryou and I are too much alike for a relationship like that to ever work between us," Yugi said scoffing not bothering to mention that Ryou had indeed shown an interest in him like that once. It was short lived though when Yugi turned him down flat saying he liked him better as a friend than a consort.
"Then I have no reason to be jealous?" He asked.
"None, what so ever," Yugi said as he felt arms wrapping around his waist.
"Good," Yami whispered in his ear before planting feather light kisses on his neck. Yugi leaned back into him, stretching his neck to allow better access.
"Why do you have to be so affectionate?" He asked.
"It's just one of my many qualities," Yami said smirking against his skin.
"Hmph, I'm getting Ryou. We need to catch up," Yugi said pushing him away. Yugi walked to his door to open it, and saw Ryou waiting patiently outside.
"I can come back in?" he asked.
"Yep!" Yugi said.
"Cool!" he said skipping back into the room. Yami was lounging on his bed. Yugi ran and jumped on it, patting the spot next to him for Ryou to sit.
"Uh, wait, Ryou where are my servants?" Yugi asked.
"Getting mine," Ryou said simply shrugging his shoulders.
"They're wandering the Palace alone?" Yugi asked fearfully.
"Uh, yes?" Ryou asked more than said.
"This isn't Japan, Ryou!" Yugi screeched, jumping off the bed.
"Whoa, slow down Yugi, I'll go find them; you're still under room confinement," Yami said grabbing him around the waist and easily picking him up.
"Thank you, koi," Yugi said kissing him.
"You call him love?" Ryou asked. Yugi pulled away slapping a hand over his mouth, but it was too late, it was already out.
"So that's what koi means!" Yami exclaimed.
"He didn't know?" Ryou asked removing Yugi's hand from his mouth.
"No, his Japanese sucks," Yugi said.
"Really?" he asked a grin that he was sure his brother Noah would be proud of creeping across his face.
"Yes," Yugi said nodding.
"So if I started to speak in only Japanese, he wouldn't have a clue as to what I was saying?" Ryou asked his grin growing bigger at Yami's confused look.
"No, he wouldn't," Yugi said back already on the same page as Ryou.
"What a shame," Ryou said shaking his head.
"It is? Isn't it?" Yugi asked looking at Yami as Mira and Malik walked in with Ryan and Jenny.
"I really need to learn Japanese," Yami said with disdain.
"No kidding," Yugi said laughing.
"Well, you know what? Two can play at this game, Yugi," Yami said.
"Play at what game, Yami?" Yugi asked.
"The talking in a language you can't understand game," Yami said.
"Whatever you say, Yami," Yugi replied. Ryou howled with laughter.
"You know English too?" Yami asked frowning.
"Of course I do, who doesn't?" Yugi asked.
"Ryou?" Yami said nodding at him.
"Oh no, I can speak it just fine. I mean I do hail from England, it would be kind of sad if I couldn't speak English, don't you think?" Ryou said.
"Yami, I introduced him as Prince of Britain," Yugi pointed out as gently as he could.
Yami huffed in aggravation before storming out.
"Bye Yami!" they said together waving.
"So tell me about this Bakura Kulena," Ryou said.
"He's either Yami's bodyguard or best friend or both; I haven't been able to tell which yet," Yugi said.
"Okay, why are you under room confinement?" Ryou asked.
"Because I played a harmless prank on some of the council members and so the Pharaoh has confined me to my room for a month," Yugi said rolling his eyes, and glancing over at his servants conversing animatedly with Ryou's.
"And how long have you been confined to your room so far?" Ryou asked curiously.
"Two torturously long weeks," Yugi said like he was dying.
"How did you become Yami's fiancé in the first place?" Ryou asked.
"I opened my big mouth, that's how," Yugi said sighing. "And the translator we had in the room at the time does his job very well."
"How though?" Ryou asked.
"Well, you know how I was trying to figure a way out of my engagement with Rebecca?" Yugi asked.
"Yeah," Ryou nodded.
"Well, I succeeded. Unfortunately I told my Grandpa of my success in front of our Egyptian guests. Which the translator translated, most likely absent mindedly for them, and probably bolted as soon as he realized what he'd just repeated. Yami stepped forward and spoke in perfect Khemet to me, calling a gift. Of course I was insulted, because he was talking to me like I was some servant, and not the Prince that I am. So I backhanded him with his own tongue, and refused. Later though he showed that he could indeed be Princely and I accepted, not that I really had much choice anyway. They weren't planning on leaving empty handed," Yugi explained.
"How do you know that?" Ryou asked tilting his head slightly.
"Because of the room they put my servants in; it was made for Japanese royalty," Yugi said bluntly.
"Then why didn't they put you in it?" Ryou asked.
"Because they weren't expecting extras, and had no room to put my servants anywhere else," Yugi said.
"So where did you sleep?" Ryou asked.
"Where do you think?" Yugi asked grimacing.
"Oh, the indecency!" Ryou exclaimed.
"We had a rough night that first one. I couldn't get sleep, and because I couldn't get to sleep, neither could he," Yugi said grinning.
"Why not?" Ryou asked.
"Because I grew up with Mira's sleep talking, and Malik's snoring. It was so quiet; I couldn't get to sleep, so Yami had to talk just for me to be able to," Yugi said laughing slightly.
"Well, that's an interesting way to get to know somebody," Ryou commented.
"It is, isn't it?" Yugi asked rhetorically.
"Do you think he's listening, to our conversation I mean?" Ryou asked looking towards the doors.
"Why else would we be keeping it innocent?" Yugi asked smirking.
"And in a language which he can understand," Ryou added.
"What is it?" Yugi asked.
"Well, it's just that everyone knows Yami is very handsome, and a little bit of a player, but I'm concerned about you. I know how you get when you get attached to something," Ryou said looking towards their servants.
"Ryou, he's my fiancé, I'm bound to get attached to him eventually," Yugi said.
"Yes, but what if he hurts you? Or betrays you?" Ryou asked.
"The Prince may be many things, but a fool he isn't," Yugi said sternly.
"What do you mean?" Ryou asked.
"He wouldn't risk war with Japan, betraying me is exactly where that would lead to. We are uniting two nations here. We are both creating an alliance. An alliance, that if it doesn't work, will have disastrous consequences for both of us," Yugi explained.
"So you don't think he will?" Ryou asked.
"No, I don't. I mean he may not know the people of his country very well, but I think he loves them," Yugi said.
"You're unsure?" Ryou asked.
"I hardly know him," Yugi said shrugging.
"Right," Ryou said switching back to English.
"Do you want to see the ring?" Yugi asked.
"Yes!" Ryou said moving closer.
;p;p;p;p
Yami sat outside the doors listening to them gush about the ring that he had given Yugi. He was glad he liked it. He wished he knew why they had switched to Japanese, and what had been said. Maybe he really did need to broaden his languages?
Yugi seemed to have a good grasp of at least three, so far. He wondered how many other languages he knew. That would be something to ask him later though, after that other Prince left. No, he couldn't get jealous, but Yugi was his, and this Prince was interrupting on their time together. But if he went in there and demanded that Prince Ryou retire to his room, that would undoubtedly make his younger fiancé angry.
"Hey, what are you doing on the ground?"
"Oh, just eavesdropping," Yami said looking up at Bakura and Marik.
"Better not let your fiancé catch you," Marik said frowning.
"Oh, I've already been caught. They had an entire conversation in Japanese, just so I wouldn't understand them," Yami said waving it off.
"Huh, that's clever," Bakura said smirking.
"He asked about you, you know," Yami said looking up at Bakura.
"The second Prince of Britain asked about me?" Bakura asked raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, he wanted to know who you were," Yami said nodding before standing up with help from Marik.
"So if I asked him to take a stroll through the gardens with me, do you think he'd do it?" Ryou asked Yugi inside the room.
"Only a complete fool would say no to you," Yugi said back. "Also, you might want to practice your Khemet."
"So what does that make you?" Ryou asked. "And I know how to speak the language perfectly."
"Intelligent, because I'm sorry friend, but I just wasn't interested in you that way," Yugi said sounding like he was teasing the other. "Because Bakura isn't exactly language savvy."
"Well, that's no fun. Oh, but you said only a fool would say no to me," Ryou teased back.
"Yeah?" Yugi asked before strange whump sound was heard.
"Hey knock it off!" Ryou exclaimed.
"Make me you fiend! Mira, Malik, help me get him!" Yugi said as more whump sounds were heard.
"Ack! Ryan! Jenny! Help!" Ryou cried.
"Of course Master Ryou!" two unfamiliar voices said.
"What do you think they're doing?" Marik asked.
"I have no idea," Yami said shaking his head before tip toeing closer to the door so he could peer through the keyhole.
;p;p;p;p
Yugi hit Ryou with the pillow again as Jenny hit him with one from behind. Mira got her back, and Ryan got her. Malik got him, and Ryou got Malik. It was an all-out pillow war, with no holds being barred. It wasn't long before one of the pillows popped and there were feathers cascading everywhere. That didn't stop any of them from playing though. They continued on, until all of the pillows had popped, and there weren't any more to play with.
They all fell on the bed, which was a mess of all kinds of feathers, in a laughing heap. There were feathers all over the room, on them, in their hair, and Jenny was spitting a few out of her mouth. It was the most fun Yugi had had in weeks. The door opened to show a servant with food for them, and an amused Yami, Marik, and Bakura.
"Oh hello, just set it over there in the table of feathers," Yugi said laughing. The servant nodded and did as asked, before leaving. Yami walked in with Marik and Bakura, and looked down at the six of them.
"Looks like you're going to need some new pillows," Yami said crossing his arms.
"Oh, I think I've already found one," Yugi said grinning mischievously before grabbing Yami and yanking him onto the bed. He laid his head down on his chest, and nuzzled it slightly.
"Aww, so cute," Ryou cooed before looking over at Bakura. Yugi nudged him and nodded in encouragement.
"Hello, Sir Bakura," Ryou said hopping off the bed and bowing before him. Marik snickered, and Yugi felt the chest beneath him rumble with laughter.
"Your Highness," he said back bowing.
"Uh, just Prince Ryou will do, thank you," Ryou said blushing slightly.
"Very well, Prince Ryou, and you may call me Bakura," Bakura said smirking slightly.
"Oh no, I couldn't possibly, it's so informal," Ryou said a little frazzled.
"Well, I don't have a title, it's just Bakura," Bakura said.
"Maybe he really is Yami's bodyguard," Ryou said glancing at Yugi. Yugi shrugged.
"What did you just say?" Yami asked trying to sit up but failing because of how Yugi was lying on his chest.
"Yami needs to learn Japanese," Ryou said turning back to Bakura. Yugi laughed slightly.
"I highly doubt that," Yami grumbled before starting to run his hands through Yugi's hair.
"Well, S-Bakura, I was wondering if you would like to take a stroll with me through the gardens tomorrow morning?" Ryou asked formally.
"It would be an honor," Bakura said back just as formally.
"Wonderful, except I don't know where they are," Ryou said looking down and blushing again.
"Then I shall be your escort as well," Bakura said placing his hand underneath his chin and drawing his eyes back up to his.
"Okay," Ryou said grinning.
"You three may leave; I wish to spend some time with my fiancé alone," Yami said dismissing them.
"Come on Ryan and Jenny, we will retreat to our room for the time being," Ryou said leaving with his two feathered covered servants. Marik and Bakura followed them.
"Great, now I'm worried," Yugi said getting off of Yami as soon as the door shut.
"About what?" Yami asked sitting up and working to take the feathers out of Yugi's hair.
"If Ryou courts Bakura, Bakura will be expected to go live with him back in Britain." Yugi said sighing.
"But I thought he was the second Prince?" Yami asked confused.
"He is, but Noah is very fond of his little brother, and would rather him be married in their Palace with him, then give him up. He really has separation issues. However, I also know that Ryou wants to move out from under his brother's thumb, by any means possible, and hope that he's just not using Bakura for the possible escape that he could provide. Plus, there is also the problem that Bakura is without title; no one in Britain will be fond of that in the slightest. Such is the drama of a Royals life though," Yugi said flopping back onto the feather covered bed. He looked up at Yami who was wearing a face of pure disbelief.
"What?" Yugi asked.
"I just got all of those feathers out," he said in a huff. Yugi laughed at him before picking a fistful up.
"Would you like some more?" Yugi asked jumping at Yami.
"No, don't even think about it," Yami said hopping off the bed.
"Aww, come on Yami, it's only a handful!" Yugi said as he chased him around the room. Mira and Malik watched from the bed, laughing when their Master caught him, and tackled him to the ground.
"Yugi, I have another meeting to get to this afternoon," Yami complained as Yugi stuck feathers into his hair.
"And now everyone can assume the worst for what we've been doing in here," Yugi said smiling and getting off of him. Yugi walked over to the tray, and took the bowl of pomegranate seeds that was sitting there off the tray. As he went to put a few seeds into his mouth, he was tackled to the ground.
"Honestly Habibi, I don't know what's gotten into you," Yami said from above him.
"Well, it was about to be my lunch, but seeing as it's all over the floor now, that won't be the case," Yugi said glaring up at him.
"No, I was referring to your comment," Yami said looking over at the spilled pomegranate on the ground.
"Oh, I'm bored in here, and need something to entertain me. What could be more entertaining than whispered glances from the council?" Yugi asked.
"Whispered glances you will never see," Yami pointed out.
"Oh yeah, well be sure to tell me all about them," Yugi said grinning.
"No, because you're going to take these feathers out of my hair," Yami said looking down at him.
"Please Yami; leave them in there for me?" Yugi asked giving him his winning puppy dog look.
"Fine," Yami sighed getting off of him.
"Thank you, koi," Yugi said hugging him.
"Prince Yami, the meeting is about to…start," a servant said from the doorway taking in the mess of feathers all over the room and them.
"Very well, tell my Father I will be there in a moment," Yami said dismissing him.
"Yes my Prince," he said bowing and leaving.
"I'll be back later, Yugi. Be good, I know that's a hard task for you, but just try," Yami said kissing is forehead.
"Ha ha, very funny," Yugi said sticking out his tongue behind Yami's back at him. Yami turned to him smirking before leaving.
"Very mature, Yugi," Malik said.
"Why thank you," Yugi said bowing. They just laughed.
