Move Along
Chapter 008
"Enough about me. Tell me, how did you end up in the Host Club," Kagome curiously asked, making herself comfortably by stretching out her legs.
Haruhi took a sip of tea before she hesitantly spoke, "It's a long story."
Kagome smiled and said, "I've got plenty of time. The rain doesn't sound like it's gonna let up anytime soon."
Sighing, Haruhi started to tell her tale. It was the least she could do after all, Kagome had told her so much about himself already. And she was really starting to like the second year student. He was a fresh breath of air compared to everyone else at Ouran.
"Seriously, eight million yen for a stupid vase," Kagome unbelievably stated.
Haruhi scrunched her nose in disgust as she remembered that ugly vase that got her into so much trouble.
"Yep," she sighed tiredly. "I still have a long way to go."
Kagome reached out and ruffled the younger girl's hair in fondness. "You'll have it paid off in no time. Enjoy the time you have with those crazy idiots. They mean well."
Haruhi shrugged seemingly not to care, but a smile still made its way on her face. "Do you know them well?"
"Not personally, but they do have quite the reputation," Kagome answered.
Before Haruhi could ask more, loud pounding came from the front door. Furrowing her eyebrows in confusion, her dad was working late, Haruhi rose up to answer the door. Kagome chose to follow mostly out of curiosity.
Kagome let out a low groan when Haruhi opened the door and Shippo barged in.
"You're late and no phone call again," he yelled, startling the younger brunette.
Kagome ruefully shook her and quickly explained, "Haruhi, this is my guardian, Yokomizo Shippo. Shippo, this is my friend Fujioka Haruhi."
Shippo perked up at the word friend. The former time traveler had all but done away with all of her old friends.
"Nice to meet you Fujioka-san, sorry about my barging in. But Kagome here is dead set on giving me grey hair," He dramatically proclaimed as he hugged the priestess to his chest.
Kagome quickly squirmed out of his hold and demanded, "What are you doing here?"
"Well someone was supposed to be home two hours ago."
Kagome rolled her eyes and coldly said, "In case you haven't noticed, it's pouring outside."
"Then you shouldn't have gotten that damned bike to begin with," Shippo snapped back.
Haruhi watched the two bicker in amusement.
"How did you even find me?"
Shippo grinned like the fox he was. "Now that would be telling."
Rolling her eyes, Kagome turned to Haruhi looking apologetic. "Sorry about this, and thank you for your hospitality. I'll pick up my bike tomorrow."
"It's alright, see you in school Kagome-kun," Haruhi replied with a smile. It was interesting to see the normally cool upperclassmen so flustered.
