Move Along

Chapter 014

Sighing in exasperation, Kagome decided to let it be. The Host Club was up to something, and she knew from the stories to just let it go. They had a good track record at least.

But she would still try to get some answers.

"What are you guys really up to," she asked, looking up at the tallest Host.

He froze a little but quickly recovered and answered, "Nothing."

Shaking her head unbelievingly, Kagome persistently poked him on his chest as she demanded answers, "I know you guys have something planned."

But Mori stuck to the plan and stubbornly shook his head "no".

Sagging her shoulders in defeat, Kagome tried not to pout and instead asked, "If you're not going to be honest, do you think you could still tutor me in math? I really do need the help."

Shippo had promised her consequences if she came home with another failing grade. And she hated to see what his idea of consequences were as she was already stuck going to school as a boy.

Mori looked down at her, he found her oddly cute for a guy. Flushing, he nodded his head yes in agreement, not quite sure what he was getting himself into.

Before she could thank him, footsteps came scrambling their way. Looking up the duo spotted Akiyama's two buddies from the baseball team. They both looked a little worse for the wear.

Kagome only became more confused when they suddenly stopped in front of her. Expecting a fight, she quickly settled in the stance Sango had taught her. Though Mori's large hand settled on her shoulder, stopping her from acting.

Adding to her confusion, the two boys suddenly dropped to their knees and bowed to her.

"We're sorry Higurashi-san. We promise to leave you alone."

"Okay," she slowly replied, not sure what was going on.

They hastily picked themselves up and raced out of there as quickly as they came.

Kagome blinked owlishly and asked, "What just happened?"
