Chapter 022
"Hey what's with all the guests today, Kyoya," Hikaru and Kaoru curiously inquired. There was a larger number of girls seated around the room than usual. Looking around again, they noticed that there was an extra spot set up next to Haruhi's area.
Kagome laughed, stepping out from one of the back rooms.
"You didn't tell them," she stated.
"Kagome-kun," Haruhi spoke in surprise as she approached the upperclassmen.
Tamaki looked to Kyoya and said, "Tell us what?"
"What is he doing here," Hikaru demanded before Kaoru added, "And in one of our mother's designs."
Kyoya flashed his clubmates his trademarked, threatening smile. "Everyone, I would like you to welcome our newest host, Higurashi Kagome."
"What made you change your mind," Honey asked from his spot on Mori's shoulders.
"Haruhi did," Kagome proclaimed, wrapping an arm around the younger girl's shoulders.
Tamaki quickly snatched the brunette out of Kagome's grasp, hugging her close to himself. "Don't touch my daughter you ruffian."
"Shouldn't that be Haruhi's decision," Kagome quipped back, winking at Haruhi to rile the blond up even more.
Kaoru and Hikaru cried out at the same time, scandalized. "Haruhi, would never let someone like you touch her."
"What do you mean, someone like me," Kagome asked, eyes narrowing on the twins.
Mori placed a hand on Kagome's shoulder while Honey began to speak in an attempt to quell the rising tension.
"C'mon Kago-chan, we'll show you around."
She let the pair lead her away from the others. She would be no use to Haruhi if she allowed herself to get kicked out on the first day.
